Fun!
I recommend this short little book for tips and tricks! It was helpful to spur on my creativity for frugal living! -
Dirt Poor and Lovin' It! by Kate Singh
Like this book because it's simple and easy for anyone to do. Starts with a table of contents.
Speaks of utilizing the house you live in to make it work for you and your income-take others in is one suggestion.
Budgeting is also discussed. Teachs you how to stock the pantry and what you'll be able to cook for healthy meals.
Love the section on farming the produce yourself and even making compost from vegetable waste to create your won dirt.
One of the things we do not currently have is a clothesline outside. It would help a bit with the electric bill but we just replaced our appliances last year with more energy saving ones.
So many ideas here and how to reuse things. Extra resources listings are listed at the end. -
Kate Singh can sure put a twist on things when it comes to pinching pennies and living on low income. It was pure fun and delight to read about her and her family. I've loved her writing since the first day I picked up one of her books! Her books are the kind you'll want on your book shelf for a very long time and makes your heart sing!

Moderately meaningful
This little booklet is ok for the young and just starting out or for the ones that are completely clueless about penny pinching. It contains some common sense ideas but other ideas, I.e. her diy recipes are not healthy and some are down right hazardous. I may be dirt poor but I am not loving this little booklet. I do give her a thumbs up for her perkiness. -
Some basic little tips
Could use some more bullet points, but a good read for anyone that is starting out making changes. I highly recommend the Automatic Millionaire, Millionaire Next Door if you are interested in personal finance. -
Loved all the ideas!
It is a small book , but it's jam packed with great ideas to save money. Just what I needed to get started. -
Good read
Short but sweet. Read in one evening. Common sense advice. A lot were things I already knew but needed reminding of. -
Common sense to most people
Not a lot of original ideas. Some ideas repeated in similar words. I’m glad this book didn’t cost me too much. -
Love this book!
This book and all of her books are packed full of useful information! I could read them over and over again! -

Great tips
A fun little guide to reset your budget and spending goals to rein in spending and focus on things that are truly important like family and friends -
I'm sure this is a great book if you're just starting out, and live in the USA. It's slightly less useful however if you're in the UK.
Many of the tips are relatable but some dont transfer as shops such as 'whole food cooperatives' are few and far between here unfortunately. -
Lots of good ideas for a small book
This book has a lot of good ideas for frugal living from such a small book. Also presents concepts that make it easy to come up with similar ideas on your own. -
Eat Tips and Tricks
This book is full great of tips and tricks to save money. It has helped me to change my mind resuscitation things that I've been wasting money on. I would recommend it. -
A lot of rambling. Wished for more resources and practical, or useful info.
