This book had some pretty nice patterns in it. For being a book on color, I questioned some of the color combinations. But you can always switch up the colors as you like. The book had a range of patterns in it from beginner to expert and simple to complicated. While I liked this book I'm kind of disappointed in the amount of odd patterns. There were quite a few that had me wondering who would ever want to use it. Or why would they have come up with that. I'm also disappointed in the fact that they used normal perfect square graph to show the color patterns in. Everyone knows that stitches are fatter than taller. For the most part it didn't do too much. But on some of the swatches the difference is quite noticeable. I would have figured for a company like Vogue Knitting, that wouldn't have been an issue. I also didn't like the unevenness of the knitting in some of the example swatches. They didn't look polished or professional. Which kind of makes me think that the pattern itself is wonky. Which that leads me to wonder if it is that the pattern is wonky, why include it. For all those reasons, I'm glad I borrowed this book from the library. For what you get, this book isn't worth the $30 price tag to me.

These are the first books I look at when planning a sweater. The pictures are great and really give you a good idea of what the pattern looks like. When reasonable, there are both written and charted instructions. Currently, I'm making a sweater using #131 Cornflower Rows.

Marked as read, but it's more a reference book you flip through.

It has some interesting color work. So far I have only tryed simple color work, but I hope to try some of these patterns in the future.

This is a good knitter's reference book.

I read my mother's copy. Not sure it's one I'll buy.
