Intergalactic Gas (The Bad Guys #5) Reviews
-
I guess 4-year-olds love jokes about farts ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
The bad good guys club is heading to moon where Dr. Marmalade went with his weapon called cute-zilla ray which turns all the cute animals into zombies. Agent Fox stays behind to take care of things on Earth. Mr. Snake is jealous that Mr. Wolf is smitten with Agent Fox. Dr. Marmalade ties up Mr. Snake, Mr. Shark and Legs. They lose Mr. Piranha but turns out that Mr. Piranha is with Mr. Wolf in his space suit and together they come up with a plan to destroy Dr. Marmalade's weapon cute-zilla ray. The bad good guys club broadcasts to the entire Earth that the weapon has been destroyed and everyone starts to believe that they really are The Good Guys now. But Dr. Marmalade turns out to be something else entirely.
Another good read with great art but besides fart jokes there wasn't any other humor in this. I did love Mr. Snake and he has become a favorite of mine after this.
3 stars -
Holy burritos Bad Guys!
Bad Guys #5 takes the crew to the moon to battle the evil guinea pig Marmalade! Mr Piranha has been eating burritos the whole way!!! Eek! Good for giggles and true lols! -
This series is so much fun to read with my girls!
-
I love these books. Adorable and funny.

Heroic would-be-good bad guys - Mr. Wolf, Mr. Snake, Mr. Piranha, Mr. Shark, and Legs the tarantula - return in this fifth beginning chapter-book/graphic-novel devoted to their adventures, this time stealing a rocket, and blasting off into space in hot pursuit of that mega-villain, the mad scientist guinea-pig Dr. Marmalade. Can the companions reach the moon in time to stop the cavine villain from destroying Earth with his Cute-Zilla Ray? Can Agent Fox and her fellow fighters hold off the hoards of zombified cute animals, in the meantime? Will Mr. Piranha's burrito-eating (and subsequent gas) prove disastrous to the mission, or save it? Only time will tell...
I enjoyed The Bag Guys in Intergalactic Gas every bit as much as its predecessors, finding its pairing of madcap adventure-story with humorous cartoon-style illustrations quite amusing. This episode of the ongoing series - I learned at an event with the author today that there will be twenty (20!) volumes by the end - will have great appeal for young children who enjoy a little potty humor (think
Captain Underpants, or
Walter the Farting Dog), and like its predecessors, ends with a surprise that will have readers reaching for the next installment,
The Bad Guys in Alien vs Bad Guys. I did not see Dr. Marmalade's true identity (as an ) coming, and finished the book wondering whether Blabey will be able to continue pulling off these cliff-hanger conclusions. We shall see... Recommended to anyone who has read and enjoyed the first four Bad Guys books. -
Aye-yi-yi! Dr. Marmalade has really done it this time!
As if zombie kittens weren't bad enough, now that mad scientist/guinea pig has gone and created the dastardly Cute-Zilla Ray which will turn every adorable critter on Earth into a raving monster! And, of course, it's up to the Bad Guys to find him in his evil lairunder a volcanoon the moon, and STOP HIM!
Oh, this episode is a GAS! -
Son continues to love these! And they are great books for him to read aloud.
-
Marmalade has turned everything cute and cuddly into zombies. It’s up to the gang to find a way to save the world! Such a great series!
-
Barnen kommer tycka den är rolig.
-
Funny. But it might just be funny because I like potty humor. Who knows?
-
Still love the transition from picture to chapter books the "Bad Guys" series affords emergent readers, but the story is getting a little drug out. I actually feel as if literally nothing happened in this book except for the fact that a hundred pages later there was a scene change from book 4. Yes, there was some moral value added and the humor is appropriate for the age group, but this series is hopefully nearing an end. Time to wrap it up while it's still good and start down the path of another idea Blabey.

By the time I've come to review this I've already read it 2 more times to my kids. They love these books; we all do. This time, Bad Guys in Space... and the answer to the question, how many fart jokes is too many? Excellent stuff.

This series stays checked out at my library, and here's a shameful secret: I recommend them yet have never read them. No more! I couldn't start at the beginning (oh the horror!) as the first four books were checked out so book number five had to be my introduction to the series. I've read Aaron Blabey's picture books before; I'm familiar with his style and illustrations. I knew this was going to be made into a movie by Dreamworks soon and needed to read at least one book before the big-time production dropped.
The Bad Guys really are the Good Guys (except for maybe Snake, which I am personally okay with due to my own snake disliking reticence)! I read this during one of my lunch breaks (apologies to Jenny for laughing out loud so much and being a disturbance) and have confirmed once again that I am six years old and love potty humor. If you don't mind that sort of thing or silliness or zombies, you may enjoy this series.
Dr. Marmalade has evil notions and is up to no good! Who can stop such a bad guy? Thankfully the world has Bad Guys who can fight this dastardly bad guy! If only the Bad Guys weren't fighting amongst themselves. If only the Bad Guys had a way to travel to space and defeat the evil Dr. Marmalade! If only Piranha hadn't eaten SO MANY bean burritos! With the fate of the entire world at stake, it's really good to be Bad. -
This book is freaking hilarious! My 7 year old loves the
Piranhas Don't Eat Bananas book,
Don't Call Me Bear! and
Pig the Pug books, so seeing a chapter book by Aaron Blabey was a no brainer for us.
OMG.
We laughed so hard that my teenagers had to read it after. I'm dying. I mean...Mr. Piranha and his burritos? This book was awesome. Recommended from ages 5 to 100 lol But if they can read on their own, I'd say 2nd grade on up.
I'm hitting up the library for more of these books since this looks to be the 5th in the series. -
I really like the themes of friendship and just believing in each other that these books have. Everyone is such good friends! Except for poor Mr. Snake who doesn't love or believe in himself at all! He helped save duh Erf and is still a sad boy. I'm sure Mr. Wolf will help him out though, his last speech was very nice.
I wasn't so into all the fart jokes personally, but they honestly payed off pretty well and I wasn't expecting it so... These kids books are pretty good and I'm obviously super invested so... Tune in for more -
Another fun book featuring The Bad Guys!
This one features a super villain named Marmalade, a hero named Agent Fox and a whole lot of flatulence. My daughter is still at an age where gross jokes are definitely her thing, so she really loved the idea of piranha pooping in a space suit.
These are a quick read, but, good for reluctant readers. -

It’s up to the moon for our good guys as they stop Dr. Marmalade and his zombie kittens despite a bit of annoying turbulence during it all, but their success is short lived after a crazy big surprise. A- (91%/Excellent)

So much farting. So much laughing.
-
That's...definitely one way to defeat your nemesis...
-
I LAUGHED MY BUTT OFF LOL
-
Smradi 5 je kniha o Smradoch i smradoch. Moja najobľúbenejšia séria, ktorej nie som cieľovka pokračuje a to teší! #trebacitat
-
Probably my least favorite thus far cause I don’t find the humor as funny but I am excited by the introduction of the alien storyline and how that will impact the storyline and introduce new elements
-
Another to be continued ending! I love it. Trying to not finish the whole series too soon, but certainly recommend. Feels like binging a TV show but at least I’m reading!

The Bad Guys have blasted off into space to save Earth from Dr Marmalade and the cute-Zilla ray.
Eliana’s review: “This book is so silly. Piranha pooped in the space suit and had a lot of poncos. It made me laugh so hard.” -
The Bad Guys are back and ready to save Earth from the evil Dr. Marmalade in this fifth graphic novel installment.
Read with my 7yo. -
