Ah l'amour! Aggressive...but still l'amour!

Okay my opinion of Mookyul is utter crap right now. First is a controlling, slightly abuse jerk that I don;t get why Ewon puts up with him. But he has his moments. But the truth of what he has done churns my stomach! I think I hated just about everyone in this volume and what they are doing to some degree. Except Jiho and Moon. They put up with so much in this series. Ewon I feel bad for but also mad at so such a storm of thoughts and feels for what is going on!
-
What an intense volume! I love break-up scenes; Ewon acted perfectly, doing what he had to do regardless of his feelings for Mookyul. I feel for him; not wanting to open your heart to someone, fearing to be betrayed and left behind, being vulnerable... I didn't like him whoring himself like that, but he's always been a bit crazy.
Mookyul is another matter entirely. He's developed Stockholm Syndrome! That old man is a pervert EWWW. Finally, Ewon gave him an ultimatum.
I hate cheating between the MCs. It rips me out of the story. The good thing is we readers are aware that Mookyul does love Ewon and not the old perverted man. It's not as if he lusts after him or something, so it's not so bad =) -
Omg the toxicity... How, why is this manhwa so popular?
Aside from the fact that this plot is terribly generic, both MCs in this are so toxic.
Lying, cheating, physical abuse, gaslighting... It's crazy some people think this is cute and romantic. Both MCs are absolutely ballistic crazy and poisonous. The only nice people in here are Ewon's friends whom he uses then throws away with no regards for their feelings. You love to see it... -

Omg
This story is incredible. Everybody is so intense. I can’t get enough of these characters. I’m on the edge of my seat wondering how this is going to end. Ahhhh! -
*1.5*
Words cannot properly convey my feelings of contempt, and utter disgust for what transpired in this volume. I know that we were supposed to be upset, and side with Ewon, and then ultimately forgive Mookyul, but I'm going to have a hard time with that. I feel sympathy for the manipulative abuse that he went through when he was a child, but it doesn't excuse his treatment of Ewon. I've felt this way for awhile now, and I just chalked it up to "crazy over dramatic storytelling", but I couldn't take it anymore, this volume finally reached it's peak of "victims of abuse abusing others", and my anger was at an all time high while reading it. The only way I can be okay with Mookyul and Ewon getting back together is if they have a healthy relationship going forward, and not one based on an abusive manipulative dictatorship. -

Wow, Ewon can be quite the shitty friend. But if that's not 100% relatable to every day life than I don't know what is. Seriously, Hajin Yoo...I'm in awe of this masterpiece. Although....the whole thing with Chairman Lee...seriously what an icky man.
-
The relationship he has with the Chairman is just...nope. Nope.
This is seriously unhealthy in every way. -
Okay. Excuse the swearing, but this series is seriously fucked up. But I can't stop reading it. The plot had me insanely hooked from the beginning.
-
Vol 5 is the best so far because the climax is here <3

After I read vol. 5 I had to go back and change my rating for the 1st 4 vols. Truthfully I want to give them all a 1 after reading this vol., but I was really liking this series before I found out that Mookyul had been lying to Ewon, so I gave them all a 3 (besides this horrible vol)... All of Mookyul's promises that nothing was happening, and all the times he told Ewon that he was imaging things, only to admit that he had actually been cheating with his adoptive father, and in fact they slept together in M&E's bed. I would have dropped the series right after I found that out but I kept hoping Mookyul was going to say it was a miss understanding, but nope turns out he just doesn't think its cheating because he loves him like his father. EEEEwww

"Totally Captivated" remains today as one of my favorite yaoi manga - why? It is fast-paced. It is romantic. It is sad, it is hysterical. I cried and laughed, blushed and rolled my eyes.
Mookyul and Ewon...I just ship them so bad. There's that as well.
Not only were the back-stories brilliant, and the main characters brilliant in themselves...but all the side characters were just as deep and amazing!
And the plot! Oh my, the plot!
Above all, the series was brilliant. By the end, I was, indeed, "Totally Captivated." -
Finaly Ewon and Mookyul consumate their relationship but everything is not going smoothly. The chairman shows up and comes between them. Ewon gives Mookyul an ultimatum, choose the chairman or him. They have an epic fight, saying some nasty things. Ewon and Mookyul are sweet together and sad apart, but Mookyul needed time to figure out his relationship with the chairman. Ewon is more grown up here and forces Mookyul to make some decisions.
-
Interesting storyline with a plot that kept me interested throughout the whole series. The two main characters, Ewon and Mookyul, grew on me as the story went on. Their love story is not without its funny moments, with bits of angst thrown in too. Certain moments will make you laugh out loud while others will tug at your heart strings. The artist did such a good job of blending both. This manhwa is definitely one for keeps.
-
Total Mad Hotness iss what the cover is saying. Mookyul is such a hot beast! A panter mostly in his rough way, but sometimes like a kitten or octopus also, due to the way he clings at Ewon/Fox Jung XD
Ewon sure is very cute, but he's not really that sly to be fox I think?...Maybe he is to Mookyul, a very cunningly attractive fox :p
And what if Ewon were a girl?! I would really love to read about that.... -
I was very entertained - dare I say totally captivated (snicker) - by this series! The relationship between Ewon and Mookyul develops nicely from beginning to end of the series. Both are flawed characters, and handled very well. The secondary characters and situations fill in the story without detracting from it. A good read. This review repeats for the whole series. :D

Totally Captivated is one of the few amazing Korean manwhas and it's a well- thought story. Beautiful art and very likable characters. I've reread this series countless times and I still love it everytime.

Okay. So I read these last month. I thought about them the other day and then I needed to read them again. :) Didn't take long. I think I may need to buy these books, maybe move that rating up to five. :)
