~4 1/2 Stars~
Love at First Crepe by Heidi Reese Mason is a highly enjoyable romantic mystery. Willow was born into a family of great wealth, and it’s expected that she will go into the family’s successful and lucrative coffee business. However, she is also a free spirit who wants to start her own business, much to her father’s great disappointment. When she begins her new venture, she has no clue how much her life will change. She will become caught in a love triangle between two very sexy, good-hearted men, and oh yeah, she’ll also become a target for murder. Lots of good stuff happening in the pages of this book.
Willow is one of those characters I love. She thinks outside of the box, and I love her free spirit. Really….this woman has a cat named Omelet that she walks on a leash and who goes everywhere she does. How could I not love her? I admire her ability to stick to her guns and find her own dreams despite her father’s very evident disappointment in her. I do feel sorry for her that she doesn’t believe in relationships because of her father’s string of wives. She has seen how money and not love have affected her family.
There was nothing I didn’t like about her best friend, Tate, or hot cop, Marcus. It was really hard to choose between these guys because they were such good men. Willow will have to choose which one to give her heart to, and it’s not a very easy decision, but she does make it and makes the plunge to find her own HEA.
Mason does a great job of building her secondary characters, and they play an integral part in making the book so good. Yes, she even gives the hitman a personality that is at times very funny. Some of the characters are not what they first appear to be, and Willow’s discovery of that really helps her mature as a person and brings some healing to her relationships.
Heidi Reese Mason is a brand-new author for me, and she has been added to my list of authors to watch. It was the perfect combination of romance, mystery, and humor.

I was drawn to the book with just the title and I was so glad I chose it. It was a perfect mix of romance, comedy and murder mystery. Willow was charming but her no nonsense attitude really made her relatable. I absolutely adored her cat omelet she was a great addition of humor. The grand opening of willow's food truck made me sad her dad who she clearly loves said congratulations and left. I really love when you can connect to the main character so easily, it makes the story more enjoyable overall and this is one of those books. Upon meeting Tate I caught hints of some feelings other then being her best friend and they would naturally fall in love. Markus is absolutely swoonworthy the first meeting in the coffee place had me laughing as I could see myself doing similar and yes that includes running into the door. Meeting her stepmother and her best friend i disliked them right off the bat and i wasn't wrong. Overall I really enjoyed the story great balance and it was kept light despite the nefarious plans for willow. I give 5 stars and recommend it highly. - By Tiffany

Willow Simpson is the daughter of a very rich man, but is determined to start her own business from scratch. Today is opening day for her food truck Dancing Crêpes. Cooking has always been what she wanted to do. Her best friend Fire Fighter,Tate Randall is right beside her as he always is. They have been friends since they were six years old. He then tells her his feelings for her have changed.
Marcus Tucker is Willow's neighbour, and a policeman who comes to her rescue when she needs it most.
With two sexy men around and someone trying to kill her, Willow has a lot on her mind.
Great fun and a good mystery to solve. I loved it. -
This is my first time reading a story by Heidi. I absolutely loved this book and plan on reading more of Heidi's book in the near future.
Willow was born in a rich family but wanted to start a business by herself and cooking was her passion. She also gets in a love triangle with two hunky guys. But not everything is dandy when someone is trying to kill Willow.
A great mystery to solve and story to read. Fun surprises and twists with loveable characters. Also a few funny parts that made me laugh out loud. Definitely worth picking up to read if your into romance mystery.
I volunteered to review this book to give my honest opinion. All reviews are 100% my own -
I loved this story! From free-spirited Willow to her different cat, Omelet, I was hooked! I needed to know whodunit and who was Willow going to choose; her BFF or the hot cop??
Willow has finally got her business. She's got her food truck that she purchased without using the Simpson name, she's running the show, even if her father basically treats as her "little hobby". But then suddenly, things start happening and someone wants Willow gone, for good. Is it the wicked stepmother? The wicked stepmother's BFF? Or someone else that she's not sure of.
A good, funny, romantic mystery that I will definitely read again. -
Absolutely loved this book! I can definitely relate to Willow's love for leggings and I want to steal her cat. That thing is awesome. Tate is a dream come true. I mean who doesn't love a hunky firefighter? The love triangles in here make you switch sides for a few chapters, which is great. A police officer and a fireman vying for your love...a girl can only dream. I loved the humor in the story. Willow tends to lose clothes at the absolute worst times, which makes it all the more funny. I look forward to reading more from Heidi Renee Mason.

Willow Simpson has grown up in a wealthy family, but she's a free spirit who is determined to succeed on her own. Cooking is her dream, and she's finally starting her own business doing what she loves most. But for whatever reason, someone is not happy about her moving into their territory, and wants to get rid of her. A dangerous break in puts her into a love triangle, even though romance has been the last thing on her mind. But with two men trying to win her, she tries to step back, but the chemistry for both is too hard to ignore. However, with the attempts on her life ramping up, will she stay alive long enough to figure out who will win her heart? Love At First Crepe was a fun read with a side of suspense, that I enjoyed. Willow was a very colorful woman, who entertained me a lot! And the two men trying to win her, were yummy, but it took me a bit to get attached to either in order to pick a side. Heidi Renee Mason showed a talented writing style that is very original, and although it took me a bit to get fully invested, once I did, I couldn't put it down. Her twists and turns were everywhere, some I could see coming, and others came out of left field. But the best part was some of the very well placed humor came from the danger stalking her. I'm excited to read more by this colorful author, so I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Thank you to @author_heidireneemason for providing us with a copy of your book for our honest review.
#Loveatfirstcrepe was my first book by #heidireneemason Willow was born from money but still works to make it on her own. She loves to cook and opens up her own crepe serving food truck. Suddenly someone tries to kill her and she’s finds herself between two hot guys trying to protect her and someone trying to murder her.
I enjoyed the book with the caveat that it is a lighthearted read. It’s so light hearted that it doesn’t seem believable for the most part but that doesn’t make the story any less enjoyable. It is classified as a mystery but there was no actual mystery it was pretty clear what happed from the beginning but once I got into it I enjoyed the pace, the storyline and the characters.
I’ll leave you with this story. My hubby is an obnoxious germaphobe. He won’t eat anything that someone he hasn’t met or been to their home has made. He’ll tell me you don’t know what their hygiene like you don’t know if they got a cat walking all on the kitchen counter....this makes me laugh because the M.C runs her crepe food truck and she brings her cat to work 😂 😂 😂 lol he wasn’t impressed when I told him the storyline. I told him it’s just fiction he tells me that why he don’t f with everyone’s food 😂 -
I have read from Heidi Renee Mason in the past and I truly enjoy this author. From the sounds of the synopsis, I thought I would get along pretty well with this book. I will say this was fast-paced and funny, I read it in all in almost just one sitting and got quite a few laughs. The writing was strong but sometimes I felt almost too lighthearted. I found myself asking a lot of questions after the first murder attempt that weren’t addressed and almost made it just a little un-believable. Now, I’m also a big fan of thrillers so possibly more light-hearted mysteries are no longer my thing, which makes me sad, but I just had trouble connecting to the actual mystery part of the plot. Everything else – the romance, the secondary cast, the flow of the story – I thought was fun to read. If you are a fan of light-hearted, almost humorous-type mysteries, I really think you would enjoy this one.
I received a review copy -
A firecracker of a klutz
Aah - what a sweet read. Loved the characters and the family dynamite dynamics. From the klutzy, firecracker heroine to the brawny, put upon hero and the cat was just the icing on the cake.
She has always had a strained relationship with her father, since her mother died, and his wives. Now she's trying to stand on her own two feet and if her food truck is a success she'll soon be able to afford her dream restaurant. She certainly doesn't want a hand out from her father to do it. However not all her neighbours at the park are happy about her food truck, but it's a small price to pay. Her BFF has however thrown her out of kilter by saying he loves her. Now someone is trying to kill her! Surviving attacks, arson and trying to get her head around everything is all mixed into a delightful read that will have you going Aaah! and a surprised gasp as to who has set a price on her head. -
I loved this book! Not only do I love crepes, I was captivated by the characters. Quirky willow is delightful and who could resist the two hunks – Tate the fire fighter and Marcus the cop. The only thing that could make the story better was the addition was the addition of Omelet – that fabulous little cat! The story line never stalled, the plot was edge-of-your-seat worthy and I could not put it down until I reached the last page. I do hope Mason brings back Willow (and Omelet) in a sequel. She’s just too good for only one book. I’ll definitely be recommending this book to all my friends.

This is a new author to me, but my word, I certainly look forward to reading more of her work. Willow is a free spirit, who when her life is suddenly in danger, she has two sexy alpha’s coming to her rescue. This is a well written story which is entertaining, fun, hilarious, and romantic, as well as has suspense and mystery. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner. I recommend this talented author for all love triangle lovers.

Amazing!
Absolutely amazing! Once again, Heidi has done it again. Who knew that crepes could get someone killed...? Lol this book was so good that the only words I have is, that you must read it! -
Cute story about a young woman who is trying to kick start her food truck career. However when someone attempts to kill her, the life she had planned changes abruptly. Entertaining story.
-
A good fun read though I thought the culprit was too easy to by omission.

I really liked Mason's Investigating the Heart, but this one just wasn't for me. I did like the setting in Portland though.
