    3,5 stars.

One of the few times I think the story was too short.

The idea behind the suspense is one of my favorites (sorry, can't say more because of spoilers) but it felt rushed. There were a lot of things I would have love to know, more details, more explanations, in short, more pages.

The romance was lovely but, just like the suspense, it could have done with more length. There were some how's and why's that left me hanging.

I don't know why the author opted for this short format because the story seemed well fleshed out. It could have been an interesting RS.

All in all, I liked it.

Justice is the third book in A Rocky Mountain Thriller by Ann Voss Peterson. In this book, readers meet two dynamic lead characters in Melissa Anderson and Nick Raymond. Melissa is a former Denver Police office with ten years of service. Now, she is an investigator for Denver’s District Attorney. Nick owns a ranch, Circle J, in Wyoming. He is in Denver to retrieve his young son, Jason, who was stolen from him by his ex-wife, Gayle Rogers, who was bludgeoned to death in an alleged robbery. What seems like a simple task—retrieving his son from the Denver authorities—catapults Nick and Melissa into tumultuous path as they try to solve the puzzle of Gayle’s murder. Nick and Melissa are attracted to each other; however, they are reluctant to act on these feelings. Who murdered Gayle? Will there be other casualties? How will Jason transition to living with his father? Will Melissa, Jason, and Nick be safe? Will Melissa and Nick find happiness? You must read this book to find out what happens.

Yet again, I enjoyed another character-driven plot with a theme of betrayal versus trust. I liked how Ms. Patterson weaves together motivating forces of greed, corruption, and abuse of power in this romantic suspense. I enjoyed Melissa and Nick’s quest to find the truth behind a series of murders. Ms. Patterson’s characters, both primary and secondary were well-designed and multi-layered. I appreciated Ms. Patterson’s use of descriptive language. Her picturesque familial scenes were realistic while her action scenes were captivating. Way to go, Ms. Patterson.

Nick is getting his son back after his ex took him and disappeared. Just as he’s about to pick him up, his son’s escorts are shot, and one protects the boy.

Melissa thinks quickly, and saves Nick’s boy, Jason, then they’re on the run from the shooters. As they figure out who’s behind it all and look after Jason’s safety and their own, they fall for each other.

They figure things out at the same time, leading to a final meeting with the villain.

This story was good, not as well done as the first two. Less chemistry between the characters, an abrupt ending. Love the little guy, though, Jason sounds adorable.

    Gripping story line, good characters.
    One explicit sec scene.
Story of 4-year-old Jason whose mother was killed brutally. His father, who has been out of his life for 3 years, comes to Colorado from Wyoming to get him only to walk into a scene where people are shooting at his son & police protectors. Melissa, an investigator & former cop has been part of that protection detail. The story goes from there.

I haven't read the first two books in the series, but I now plan too.

This was a fun, fast read. Enough excitement to keep me reading. I was able to guess who the true bad guys are but not because it was clumsily written.

There is one open door scene but a relatively tame one compared to some books. I found myself caring about the characters and rooting for them to find their way both in their personal lives as well as solving the case.

    Definitely recommend.

I am a fan of this Series, and this was my favorite of the three books. I was immediately drawn to both Melissa and Nick. Nick is a father that has been denied access to his young son for a few years, and when he finally finds him, the real trouble begins.
This is a face-paced suspenseful story, with some twist and turns, and even a love scene. This book had me guessing, as I didn't figure it out the "bad guy" until just before the reveal. 4.5 Stars.

An edge of the seat read.

This book had me from the first page. The fast paced action didn’t let up. I enjoyed the relationship building between Melissa, Nick, and Jason. I’d picked out several people as the guilty party but was wrong. Can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

    Definitely a thriller!

Ann Voss knows how to grab your attention then keep building the suspense!   This is my third book of hers and each has been exciting, romantic and left me unable to put the book down.   Love this series!

    Mixed feelings

I liked the action and suspense in JUSTICE, but the relationships were a little thin. Both Melissa and Nick were good characters. Their romance was not very convincing to me.

  • Will Decker

It was a good story and the characters were right for each other, but I felt left out of the intimate stuff. And even though the kid was an integral part of the story, I couldn't help feeling like he was more of a nuisance than an asset. I liked the author's writing style and the editing was clean.

  • gloria marquardt

A fast moving story with a happy ending.

A solid romance and a kid to sweeten the deal. A friend's murder and a frame. Another's friend and co-workers betrayal. Like I said. Fastmoving.
