This author is def not for me!!

She was mine by Marie Skye an inescapable five-star read. This is book 3.5 in the Incapable series, and you will need tissues to read this book, like the others in the series I shows life isn’t rainbows and unicorn farts and fairy-tale endings. The author even tells us in a letter in the end that’s she is sorry if this story broke our heart as a reader, as it broke hers as a writer. But that being said it may be my favourite book of the series. Like the previous books it deals with several issues that people face, some on more than one occasion and its heart breaking, but it also shows that it’s not the end of the story, just because some wants to cause you harm doesn’t mean you have to let them.
Grayson Mandrake has finally gotten what he always wanted, to call Emmaline Ross his, she now carries his name and goes by Emmalin Mandrake, and they seem to have it all a wonderful life, an adorable little girl, if he can get this one deal done they can all spend more time as a family. Something they always wanted. Until it gets shaken to the core, all because of one person, he would give Emmalin anything she desires, apart from the one thing she asks for now. He will do anything to save losing his Mrs Mandrake.
If you haven’t read the Incapable series, go buy it and read it first, you won’t be disappointed. There are several triggers in this book, but there is also compassion and love shown with dealing with them, well done Ms Skye you did the incapable and made me cry with a smile on my face about something I never thought possible.

Wow, this story just blew me away!! Grayson and Emmalin are a married couple, who work hard, and they have it all, until someone threatens to take it all away. This is a heartbreaking, emotional, gritty, tough, hard, storyline, with real issues. This author has done an amazing job in writing this story, and she had me hooked and intrigued from the very beginning. I look forward to reading more of this author’s work, and highly recommend her work for all readers. Congrats Marie!!

She Was Mine: An Incapable Novella by Marie Skye is part of her Incapable series. This story is about fighting for those you love and taking them for granted. This is my first book I have read in her Incapable series and I know that I will read the others for sure! I love this author and everything about her. Her writing style is engaging and attentive. Her characters are true to life and connectable. This story will make you cry and feel compassion. The characters in this book go through life struggles that normal couples struggle with. They will pull you into their world and make you feel like you are right there with them. But the one question, I kept asking myself is, when will they figure it out so they can have their HEA. Find out what happens to this couple and if they ever find their HEA?

If Grayson had to use one word to describe his wife it would be MINE. She is the mother of his child, his love and his world. She has give him more then he has ever expected, maybe more then he deserves. Nothing has ever come easy for them. But now, someone wants to come along and take it all away from him. When someone starts telling a tale about Grayson, will it destroy everything in his world? Nothing is making sense for him right, so how does he fight back? How will he hold on to her? If she asked him to let her go, could he? He refuses to let her go, to lose her. Emmalin's thoughts on her husband is that life has never been more perfect but sometimes life is just not what you expect or want it to be.

Grayson and Emmalin's relationship has been a struggle for them off and on. Will this last situation be to much for them this time? When Grayson has to fight to prove he is innocent, will he be able to do it before the damage is irreversible? He just wants his family back and to be able to live his life with them. When his past is the problem, will they have a future together? You will feel compassion for these characters. The stress on their marriage is unbelievable and you can't help but wonder if they have enough fight in them to stay together. There were a few times, that Grayson made me mad because of his attitude and his actions and then you get to see how it effects Emmalin. These are great characters, despite his past, I think that make a great couple and found myself pulling for them. Find out what the future has in store for them. Are they strong enough to make it to their HEA?

This is my second book by Marie Skye and there is no doubt I will be reading everyone of her books. Her characters pop off the page, she pulls you in from the first word. Marie is a professional by day and a lover of all things dirty by night. She prefers that her characters work for their happier ever after. She is known as not having a filter and if you ask her opinion you are more likely to get an answer that is witty and blunt. This is a fast paced story that I read in one night. I couldn't put it down. I know you won't be able to either. I highly recommend this story as I know you will want to know what happens to Grayson and Emmalin!

She Was Mine is an Incapable Series novella….. First of all….. *#@%4 *I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the whole Incapable series, it’s one of my all-time favourite reads. So, when I heard there was another book coming out, I was sooooo excited. I wondered where you would take the story- I ran a few scenarios through my mind, anticipating what was to come; but never in my wildest dreams did I get anywhere close to guessing what you had in store for Grayson and Emmalin. Mind Blown!
If you haven’t read the other books in the series, you really need to get your hands on them and have a massive book binge. Not only are they awesome, but they also contain backstory and character information that will enhance your enjoyment of this book, and the series as a whole.
I don’t even know where to begin to give an overview of the story, without giving away spoilers, it was that good (Devilishly, Fiendishly Good).
Grayson finally made Emmalin Mrs. Mandrake and he is over the moon to have her carry his name- she is his. They had to work, fight and claw their way to happiness. Now they have an adorable little bundle of joy that lights up both their lives. Business is booming. Their friends are happy. Life should be fantastic. But Grayson has a business deal in the pipeline that has taken up a lot of his time, leaving little for his family. Stress is at an all-time high, and small cracks begin to appear in their relationship. Nothing that can’t be fixed.
But a situation occurs that has the potential to destroy everything they hold dear. Grayson is put in an indefensible position, and once again will need to fight harder than ever before, to prevent everything from slipping through his fingers. Will this explosive situation deepen their bonds, or will it drive him and Emmalin apart, once-and-for-all?
I had such high expectations for this book and true to form, Ms. Skye didn’t let me down (even though she nearly killed me) and has once again delivered a breathtakingly brilliant instalment to her riveting series.
Even now, days after reading this book, my mind is still reeling. I am really struggling to do this wonderful book justice, and communicate how sublime this book is, or how deeply the series has branded itself into my heart.
Reading this book has left me a quivering mass of jelly, but I can’t wait to do it all over again, with the next book.

    Bravo!

    Thank you, Ms. Skye!

5 Heart wrenching, Brilliant, new favorite series Stars

It's over...I can't believe this series is done, I'm so sad, but I read them at record speed because this author gave me no choice so now I can go back and reread and savor every word. I don't know what to say about this book as Ive pretty much stated my feelings in the first three reviews for this series. This one had me wanting to throw everything within reach except my tissues which were a necessity while reading, along with the not so attractive blowing my nose like a million times.

I genuinely fell in love with Grayson and Emmalin as well as all the other characters in this book/series, and they will stay with me for a very long time.

This story was full of pain, sadness, distress, betrayal, yet you could still feel the love shining through. I would have been happy if the story ended at book three, but this one just added to the strength of the whole story and proved that an HEA is truly never perfect, it just is.

Thank you Marie Skye for making me “feel”, thank you (i think) for making my heart hurt, thank you for giving me a story that was full of twists, turns, emotions and the fact that you made me call you every name in the book during this series. I was so mad at you so many times and I had to stop myself from finding your email and sending you nasty, tear filled messages. I sincerely hope that somewhere along the line there is more..Chace and Isabella seem unresolved at this point, I will wait and hope that maybe there will be more of Grayson, Emmalin and the rest of the gang.

    I miss them already!!

Run, don't walk and one click this whole series, then before you touch them make sure you're good for a couple days because the world you're about to enter will not let go till your done.

I'm so happy I have these books on my kindle but will definitely also buy them for my shelf that holds those stories closest to my heart!!

  • Lisa

Oh this starts off hottttt. But then it breaks your heart.

She Was Mine is book 3.5 in the Incapable series by Marie Skye. Because she couldn’t just let them be. Grayson and Emmalin will always have to fight for every bit of their happy ending.

It starts off and these two are already having some issues. Grayson is so hard headed about things, and always pushing Emmalin to get whatever he wants. Then things get worse because of a CRAZY person! It doesn’t say much in the blurb so I won’t either. I’ll just say I hated every moment they were in the story, I loved Emmalin’s nickname for them, and they really tested our favorite couple’s bond. Oh and and this isn’t the only hardship they experience either. Marie Skye, do you enjoy torturing your readers? Do you save our tears at the end of the day? Is it a game to see how far you can break us before putting us back together?

Oh, when the sexy times show up, it totally balances the very emotional moments. Grayson and Emmalin know how to get down and dirty, and this author writes some very steamy, delicious scenes. You get to see bits of the other characters throughout, but not much. It’s told from both points of view with a HEA, unless she writes another. All in all, though I cried, screamed, wanted to throw my kindle, I was glad to get more of these two.

    She Was Mine
    By Marie Skye
    5 incredible stars!
I actually think this book may have left me speechless – I don’t know whether to love it or hate it (and definitely not hate it in a bad way either!) but what I do know is that is an incredible read! If you have read and loved this series to date then you have to read this book – you really do. Once I had finished the book and tried to gather my emotions I read the acknowledgments from the author where she apologise for breaking her readers and its true, for me anyway this story well and truly broke me. I have loved Grayson and Emmalin from the very first page I read of their trilogy.
Grayson and Emmalin’s relationship has never been easy but it has been full of love – Emmalin is everything to Grayson. He loves her so much and it is clear just how much in this story I think. He is desperate to get through the obstacles thrown in their way. I was on the edge of my seat throughout this book; I literally couldn’t turn the pages quick enough. I needed to know that one of my favourite book couples were going to survive some pretty difficult times! There were so many twists in this story and I could not predict what was going to happen at all. There were definitely a few things that I didn’t see happening in their relationship!
I think Marie Skye definitely has outdone herself with this addition to her fantastic incapable series. It was captivating and gut-wrenching from that very first word until the very last one! I’m still not sure if I’m ready to let this couple go yet – I just totally love them!! As always I am eagerly anticipating anything that Marie comes up with next! She is definitely one of my favourite authors!

She Was Mine didn’t just break my heart. It completely shattered it. I absolutely love anything Marie Skye, and this is definitely the series of 2017 for me. But seriously, I was not ready for this book. I cannot say goodbye to Grayson and Emmalin, so I won’t. I am just going to keep reading the series, over and over, until I can bear to let go.

Grayson is the epitome of the dirty talking, alpha dominant male. Emmalin is his sassy but sweet minx who is the other half of his soul. Their lives are never lacking sensation or catastrophe. In the synopsis of She Was Mine, it is written that “Nothing ever came easy for them”. Ain’t that the truth! as a reader, I felt everything, cried at it all, laughed some more, and felt completely wrung out by the end. Never have I felt so content or fulfilled at the end of a book quite like I was at the conclusion of the Incapable series.

She Was Mine was presented to the reader in typical Marie Skye style, with many twists, characters going to any lengths to get what they want, and a never ending amount of heart stopping moments, only to be followed up by moments where I could breathe easy. The thrills and spills were almost too much to bear, but if anyone would have said to me to take a break, I would have ripped their heads off!

Marie Skye took me to unimaginable heights with the Incapable series. She Was Mine was a raw and stunning instalment into the fast paced, constant mayhem and some of the most heated and erotically charged love scenes I have ever read.. There is no limit to the creativity this author puts out there for us lucky readers. The talent is so high and complex, I cannot think of a word to aptly describe it. I sound like a crazed fan, but that is the kind of passionate response Marie Skye rips from me so effortlessly. I am a slave to this type of story and the genius that wrote this incredible book and turned it into my favourite series this year. 5 stars for Marie Skye and endless praise for She Was Mine and the spellbinding Incapable series.

    She Was Mine (Incapable #3.5)
    By: Marie Skye
    5 out of 5 stars

The story She Was Mine (Incapable #3.5) by Marie Skye is a contemporary romance book. This is the next book in the Incapable series and it is awesome! I have loved the characters of Grayson and Emmalin since I read the first book in the series. Their love for each other is intense. This story is about how they survive through a situation that threatens to tear them apart. Their story has never been perfect however they always seemed to find their way back to each other. Will the current situation be enough to break up this couple for good or will it only cause them to hold on to each other tighter?

This story finds Grayson fighting to prove his innocence. Allegations are being made that sound like they are the truth and he is having a hard time fighting them. Grayson is fiercely protective of both Emmalin and their child and only wants these charges to be proved false so they can go on with their life together. Then threats are made and the past is dredged up. Things seem to go from bad to worse. What does the future hold for Grayson and Emmalin? Will Grayson be able to hold on to Emmalin and his family? Will Grayson be able to show that the allegations against him are lies or will the evidence against him prove to be too great?

I have such empathy for Emmalin and Grayson in the situation that they find themselves in. The strain on their marriage is very high and you wonder if they will come to a point of no return. This couple does have a wonderful support system of friends and family that help them no matter what. This story had me frustrated with what this couple has to go through. It is heartbreaking to read how it affects Emmalin. I love Grayson’s fierce protectiveness of his family and I found myself firmly in his corner in proving his innocence. This is a story that had me quickly turning pages to find out what happens next. I enjoyed every minute reading it. Find out what the future has in store for this unforgettable couple! I can’t say enough about this author and her books. She weaves a story that you can’t put down with characters that captivate your heart. My emotions were on a rollercoaster when reading this book and series. The story is told from the POV of both Emmalin and Grayson. There are adult situations in this book, Emmalin and Grayson’s story is red hot with plenty of steamy love scenes. It would be recommended for those 18 years of age or older.

She Was Mine by Marie Skye is An Incapable Novella that is part of the Incapable Series. In true Marie Skye fashion, she writes a story that will pull on your heart strings and keep you praying that it never ends. This author is so incredibility talented and I always look forward to reading her stories. This one is no different, the characters were very relatable and make you feel a wide range of emotions. I would definitely read the other books in the series first before starting this book, just because it will give a great background and show how much this couple has actually been through. Another amazing 5 star read!

Grayson is a tad bit obsessed with his wife, Emmalin. She's the love of his life, the mother of his child and to be quite honest, his everything. They have literally struggled for everything that they have, they deserve their happy ending. But will they get it? Someone wants to come and crush their world, they want to take Emmalin away from Grayson, and destroy Grayson. Will Emmalin believe them? How can Grayson fix this? He's never going to let her go and if she thinks she can get away from him, she's got another thing coming. Grayson will do everything in is power to keep Emmalin.

Emmalin and Grayson have always struggled throughout their entire relationship, and I kept thinking, when will enough be enough. But their love proved to be strongest against all odds. This couples story will break your heart and then put it back together again. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a great romance!

  • Jessica Cox

This is the 4th book in the incapable series, and you just need to read the others to get Emmalin and Grayson's history. I love this couple and can't really get enough, but I feel like its time for the author to have a time out, This one hurt more than others I have had a similar tragedy and I was just begging for this couple to catch a break. I hated all the fighting and just how miserable that they were feeling. I don't feel like anything really got resolved in their relationship about why he keeps fighting her, the author just threw in more heartbreak, to make everyone forget. I really enjoyed the entire series, It did feature darker, grittier moments than your average romance reads. I totally get why the author finished the series in her own way, but she seriously needs to be nicer.

  • Krystal gaston

She Was Mine is an Incapable Novella (3.5) written by Marie Skye. First I would like to start by saying if you have not read the previous stories stop now and do it. Grayson and Emmalin have a very unique marriage after everything they have been through they finally have just peace and quiet to focus on themselves and their daughter at least that’s what they thought.
Marie sky has such unique way of describing the situations that have and are happening in her stories. Emmalin and Grayson are two of my favorite characters they are both strong willed, stubborn, and will do anything to protect the ones that they love. They have demonstrated that over and over again in the previous stories. This series is told in both Grayson and Emmalins perspective. I am sad to see this series come to an end after everything that has happened. Marie Skye has a way of making you feel like you are in the situation with the characters.

  • Laura Leyman

She Was Mine, is a novella about the Incapable series, it follows on from Infinitely Mine. This book made me cry, it broke my heart. But I felt like I got closure for Grayson and Emmalin.
Emmalin and Grayson have even more to fight for to get their happily ever after. Nothing in their life has gone easily. But I feel that it shows how much you love a person. However, this might be the straw that broke the camels back. The things that happen in this book might be what ends the amazing couple that have fought so hard to be together.

‘Only in the agony of parting, do we look into the depths of love.’

Marie Skye, your story broke me. After everything they have been through, I was hoping for a happy story. But as you said life isn’t a fairy tale. I am glad that you wrote this the way you did because it felt like real life. I liked what you wrote at the back.

‘Real life isn’t a fairy tale. Real life isn’t censored… I’m sorry if this story broke your heart. It broke mine too.’

Overall, this book broke me but I loved it. It made me cry, but it was necessary. Like Marie said ‘real life isn’t a fairy tale.’ And that is very true. I love that this is seems real, like it was non-fiction, unlike some books out there that are so unrealistic it is laughable.

She Was Mine (An Incapable Novella)
    Marie Skye
    5 Star Review

She Was Mine by Marie Skye is a five star read. This was a quite different read for me as the characters are already married but like in real life things can impact and change your relationship. The author did an amazing job on these characters and the struggle was heartfelt and well written.

Grayson and Emmaline love each other very much and have a good marriage, a beautiful daughter and jobs that keep them very busy. Grayson decides to combine business with pleasure by inviting Emmaline on a trip to Paris. But, just like in real life, their daughter is sick and Emmaline is unable to go on the trip.

Grayson attends the business trip, but a sneaky employee decides to take advantage of the situation to make her move on her crush for him.

What happens when love and commitment is tested? When a loved one needs space, and the only thing you want to do is pull them closer?

This story is amazing and heartbreaking but it is a very emotional journey.

  • Tara Nelson

    I don't want this to end!!! 😭😭😭😭

I cried with this book in a scene or two. Grayson made me angry and I wanted (but mentally did so) to shake my first at him and scream because I knew what was going to happen when it got to "that" 😠 part. I'm glad we got a HEA with these two but I can't lie and say I wouldn't love more from these two! Emmalin just couldn't catch a break....it was one thing after another for this poor character but I love how she just keeps fighting...for herself and everyone she loves.

I will say that Marie Skye is one evil writer. I don't know when a book got to me as much as this 4 part love story did. It's a huge recommendation from me to read these books.

I can see why she gives the warnings for triggers at the beginning. So, tread carefully. Absolutely loved this series so hard!!!

  • Reva Coomer

I am still wiping my tears as I write this. I don't think my poor heart could handle much more. Grayson and Emmalin have literally crawled through hell and back. They have experienced so much loss and came through the other side stronger. They had to fight. They broke each other in the process. But they made it. I love this couple with all my heart. Amazing.

  • Gladys

She Was Mine By Marie Skye is an extremely emotional and heartbreaking story. This book will definitely put you through an emotional wringer. How much is too much and a relationship is destroyed? That's the question. This is not a rainbows and roses romance. It is gritty, raw and painfully realistic. I am voluntarily reviewing an ARC copy of this book.

  • Monja De Jager

    She was mine

Grayson and Emmaline have a good marriage. They have their daughter and even though work keeps them both busy. It works. Grayson is a voracious lover who loves his wife and is always trying to make time for them.

Grayson decides to combine a business trip to Paris as time with Emmaline. With their daughter sick at the last minute she doesn't go.
While there Claudia an employee who has had a crush on Grayson finally makes her move. It is a move that will tear their lives apart, test everything they both thought they had and discover new things about themselves.

This is not a pretty story, it is real with real issues and life. Sometimes life can be a total bitch. This book will make you angry, you will cry, you will feel despair and Sometimes, just sometimes some hope.

If there is one thing Grayson is determined about, it is that Emmaline is his and that no matter what happens he will not loose her.

Emmaline is strong, but for how long? Will she stay the course or will she finally have enough and leave?

A tough, hard story, but oh so gripping. I was hooked from page one and cannot wait to read more of the authors work.

A well deserved 5 stars and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO ALL.

I voluntarily read this ARC and am giving my honest and unbiased opinion of the book as I experienced it

Why does this woman continue to slay me? Honestly, I need the heartache. I need the pain. I need the stuff that reminds us that life is real. That it isn't one big fat happy ending. Real things happen in life that shapes and molds us. Marie Skye gives us that reminder in "She Was Mine". Grab a box of tissues, curl up and read this book. You need a reminder.

  • Erika P

Emotional, intense, and angsty, this one led me through all the feels. The Author keeps it real and doesn't hold back. Read in one sitting, I couldn't put it down. The couple is completely likable, and you feel for them as the story unfolds. These two are crazy hot, even though they are a smidge unconventional. You can feel how much they love each other leap right off the page. I hunkered down, while cursing the antagonist, cheering the triumphs, and tearing up at the tragedies. It may be shorter, but it packed a powerful punch and was an amazing read!! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!

  • Rose Silverstone

I absolutely loved this story. It was amazing! The ride Marie took the read on was gut-wrenching. I held my breath, wiped away tears, and laughed a few times. There were moments when I didn't want to turn the page because part of me didn't want to know what was going to happen next. It was such a ride I had to send M. Skye a message to let her know just how I felt about her tormenting me. She even gave the reader a character they will love to hate. Thanks for the fantastic story!!

omg another awesome book you wrote! this was about a wife and husband who have it all. til one day someone threatens to take it all. can there love be strong enough to handle it? read to find out what happens. this book had me in tears too. thanks for giving me a chance to read this book!
