-"He stopped and turned to face Danny, looking him in the eye with an unexpected intensity. “I rarely think about the fact that she’s not really my daughter. She’s the daughter of my heart. I’d do anything, take any risk, to give her what I thought would be best for her.” Danny nodded. “I understand,” he said. But he didn’t understand the underlying meaning of the words. And Uncle Willie’s intense expression said there was an underlying meaning. Uncle Willie put a hand on Danny’s shoulder and gripped it hard. “I feel the same about you. I don’t call you ‘son’ for nothing. Whatever it takes for your happiness and well-being, I’d do it.”-
Oh dear, one little lie. Seemed innocent enough at first but then it snowballed and became almost impossible to fix... Will Uncle Willie's meddling ways prove to be helpful - or only hurtful? Best friends, reunited in the little town they grew up in. He has baggage and doesn't feel worthy of her. She loves him and hopes he can be persuaded to leave the city life and come back home.
This is a sweet, clean, Christian romance. It is suitable for a wide range of audiences and stands alone with no cliffhangers. It contains some humour, some fun characters, and some very swoon-worthy kisses! Lose yourself in the romance of small-town life in Loon Lake with "Love at the Fluff and Fold"! A great, fun read. -
I want to thank Kitty Bucholtz, author and Goodreads First Reads Giveaway for the eBook Kindle copy of Love at the Fluff & Fold: A Sweet Small Town Romance that I won in the Giveaway.
Cassie Lane and Danny Kessler are reunited when Cassie's Uncle Willie with the help of his long-time friend and physician come up with a plan. It is not the best of plans but it just might work. He tells both Cassie and Danny that he needs them because he had bad news at his annual physical. Danny comes from downstate Michigan back to Loon Lake to help his old friend and substitute father. Cassie lives with her uncle and now is doing everything she can to help him too with the help of her best friend ever Danny.
Danny made a big mistake when he married another girl right after high school and now feels he is not good enough for Cassie. Cassie has tried to move past how she feels about Danny but it just has not worked. Uncle Willie's plan goes of for a while with Danny and Cassie finding each other again until they try to force him to see a specialist and he has to tell the truth.
Sometimes family tries to offer advise, often unwanted but it is done with love so you just have to forgive them and figure out what you need for yourself. In this sweet romance both Danny and Cassie stick to their Christian faith and still find their happy beginning of a new life together. -
This is a very sweet book, which I was lucky enough to win in a Goodreads giveaway.
Kitty Bucholtz does a wonderful job in describing the small town of Loon Lake (not to mention the many delicious meals the characters eat.) There is a cast of quirky characters that add a lot of padding to the main story.
I have to say, I don't think I'd be as forgiving as Danny and Cassie were if one of my relatives lied about being about to die! However, Willie is a character who you can't help but love. This is not a raunchy read, and makes no pretences to be. It's nice to read an 'innocent' book from time to time and all in all it wasn't too saccharine.
My one criticism would be the religious aspect, and that's probably why I went for three stars instead of four. However, there is nothing preachy about this book. The author is not trying to convert the reader, her characters just have a great faith in God.
I wouldn't hesitate to read another book in this series, it's like having a warm blanket wrapped around your shoulders. -

Cassie Lane and Danny Kessler were best friends growing up until the new girl came in town and they ran off and got married. Cassie dreams were dash as they moved away but eventually they got divorced and she just recently broke off her engagement.
Willie Larson is Cassie’s uncle and feels that the two belong together. He hatches a plan to bring them together saying that he is dying ad would like them help him make plans. He knows Cassie is busy as she is about to graduate and gets him to fix things and do shifts at his store as he brings them together.
What will happen when they spend more time together? Will they want more than just friendship? A sweet romance story. -
I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Daydreamer Entertainment and Goodreads giveaway for my unbiased opinion of the book. I really enjoyed this book! I love books with meddling family and friends to help put two people that are meant to be together! This was the case of Cassie Lane and Danny Kessler. Willie Larson, Cassie's Uncle is the meddling party and their two best friends. Uncle Willie dreams up a huge tale to get Danny to come home and help Cassie while they are trying to figure out what is going on with her uncle. They both need to get over their past demons and relationships before they can move forward. Once the town finds out about the ruse the fun begins! You need to read this story, it is a treat!

This book was everything sweet and wonderful and good with enough bumps along the way to keep it interesting. You get a wonderful cast of characters, whom I will get their own stories! You get a super sweet yet rascal of a puppy. You get a wonderful couple, flaws and all, in Danny and Cassie. It kept me reading, and even shedding a tear or two along the way.
If you like your books on the sweet side, with a Christian influence (though not in a shove-it-in-your-face kind of way), then this is a book you should definitely pick up and read!
I received a copy of this book through Goodreads Giveaways. -
I won a free copy to read and give my honest review.
I really liked the setting in Northern Lower Michigan, and the characters were well developed, and likable.
The story started nice and fast, but after the first half, started slowing down some, and the end seemed a bit bland, it just needed a little more panache.
Overall- a good clean, light romance. Some humorous scenes and a bit of family drama. -
Sweet read - and lives up to the title that it is a bit of fluff. It's easy to do a quick read but the characters a bit too sweet for me and I found it too easy to put down. I enjoyed the read but likely won't look for more of the series.

Slow
The book is sweet but it's slow and very very detailed. I found it packed so much it was boring to read -
Fun and mostly lighthearted
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Quick, easy read to lose yourself in for a bit.
