When a house fire brings her ex-beau’s family to live with her temporarily, Tabitha Hilty is forced to confront the reasons she and Isaac broke ties in the first place. But in a house full of seventeen people—two suffering from dementia, and a pet squirrel to boot—there’s no room for petty squabbles. The tight living arrangement will either force forgiveness, or ruin everyone’s Christmas. Or will she find there’s a spark left in their relationship after all?

I had not had the pleasure of reading any of Tattie Maggard's book, however I do see more in my future. This Novella is a sweet read that starts with a tragedy and ends with a warm fuzzy feeling. Tabitha and Isaac work on their relationship while rebuilding Isaac's family home. Tattie has sweetly written a love story within a love story that I just loved. When I read Amish Fiction I always find a lesson and I think devotion would be the lesson I loved. Thank you for this sweet love story

OMG I loved this book. I couldn't stop reading it once I started. It held my attention the whole way from beginning to end. There were many twist and turns throughout the book. There were also surprises too, which made the book very interesting. I got more of an insight of the Swiss Amish culture. I found myself laughing at certain times and in tears at other times. It was a wonderful book, I didn't want it to end. I highly recommend this book you won't be disappointed.

This is a solid installment in Maggard’s Swiss Amish Christmas series, but I wasn’t as invested in the characters or plot as the original story. It may have been partially due to the Girod family’s adherence to an older and stricter version of courting. It was certainly related to the fact that a relatively minor incident that occurred between Tabitha and Isaac when the two were eleven years old (they are now each 20) is cited several times as a major barrier to the couple’s failed attempt at courting during their teens. More than anything, it’s probably due to the fact that the couple at the center of the story, although likable, are not nearly as intriguing as Joy and Lucas with their odd couple dynamic from “I Hear Christmas.” It’s still a lovely story though and worth the time investment.
The quiet star of the book for me is Tabitha’s Gruszmawmie. She appears to have a robust sense of humor and a unique personality that keeps her husband and others on their toes. It seems she would be the sort who caused a lot of headaches in her youth by innocently challenging the views and customs of both her family and the overall Amish culture without pushing things too far...a book or series about her younger days would be a most welcome read! -
"A Christmas Courtship" is a lovely heartwarming novel. There are many characters in this storyline, but it's easy to keep up with all of them. I enjoyed this book with its mystery and learning the Swiss Amish lifestyle. For me, the book has twists and turns, also a few surprises. I highly recommend reading "A Christmas Courtship" by Author Tattie Maggard . I'm finding this author a delightful writer.
