Goodnight, My Love Reviews

I'm exhausted after reading and translating this, but it was worth it!

это заняло у меня так много времени. Мне нужно улучшить свой русский.

Parents and caregivers know how hard it can be to get a child to go to sleep. Alex, the child in, Goodnight, My Love, finds every excuse in the book not to go to bed. Instead of getting upset, Alex's father decides to help Alex plan a dream. In the process, Alex grows sleepy and finally nods off.
Goodnight, My Love, is a charming story that can inspire little ones to create their own dreams and make bedtime more pleasant. It can also inspire caregivers to be more patient with their child. It's a refreshing change that the caregiver in this story is the father––something not often seen. The colorful illustrations compliment the text nicely. Recommended for children ages 3-6. -
A pleasant short story.
The text is written in English and Spanish. The Spanish was in bold font. I thought this was a fun way to learn Spanish, especially once you know how to pronounce the words. One needs to have a little bit of Spanish experience beforehand. The English part of the story read simply and correctly. My knowledge of Spanish is not good enough to comment on what was written. However, judging by the high level of accuracy in the English section I am prepared to hedge my bets and label this as a worthwhile little bedtime read. -
I'm still not even at this reading level, but it was a good challenge. The font the Russian was in made that even more difficult unfortunately, it took me longer than it should have to realize I knew words that I didn't recognize at first, only because the letters looked different. The downsides of using one app with just one font, I suppose. A gap I'll have to work on.
(Story wise, never in the book does the dad say "Goodnight, my love." Why is the book called that? The dad said so many other goodnights, why is that the title, grr.) -
This is a nice sweet story about a father putting his son to bed.
He read him a story and then said goodnight. Then the son needed a glass of water and he kept needing things until the patient father got him to say what he really needed. He was afraid of his dreams. He and his dog helped him. Read the heartwarming end and you will have a smile.
I found this book on a website for free for an honest review. -
Good way to teach a second language to the kids
The added bonus of the translate function (didn't know it existed till today) in the kindle app helped loads... Much better than my dire attempt at speaking German. Actually I may try that translate function on a standard book too. Nice basic paragraphs. My grandkids liked the dream scene too. The Illustrations were good too. -
Stalling at bedtime? A tactic I know well, from personal experience.
I'll tell you this, Goodreaders. Alex's Dad in this story is a whole lot more patient than I would have been in his place.
FIVE STARS for this sweet-and-lovely book.
Thank you, author Shelley Admont.
Also, thanks to you, artist Samir Boumsik. -
Story is simple and only for below 7 years old.
Story is very simple and remember that this story is only for below 7 years old. Don't even think about to read it when you are bored. -
I read this as a VOX Book (Books that talk)
English was spoken first then the German version.
Cute story. As a parent, this story was very relatable as my own children didn't want to go asleep. -

Do you have a child who doesn't want to go to sleep at night? If so, this may be the perfect book to share. Alex, the young boy in the story, finds every excuse not to go to sleep. His father patiently accommodates by bringing water, his favorite teddy bear, and finally telling him a good story that relaxes him and sends him off to dreamland.
Goodnight My Love is a sweet bedtime story with the added bonus of being bilingual. After each English sentence, there is a Ukrainian translation. Great for teaching kids a second language! The illustrations are colorful, with swirling blue clouds that give the book a dreamlike feel. They complement the text nicely. Recommended for children ages 3-7.
