Every child who loves to dance will surely get a “kick” out of Candace Center Stage , the heartwarming and hilarious tale of a girl who joyfully embraces the song and dance in her heart … even when she doesn’t quite fit in at ballet class. Written by Candace Cameron Bure, New York Times bestselling author and star of the hit TV series Full House and Fuller House , this charming, laugh-out-loud picture book tells the story of a little girl who quickly realizes one thing after her mother signs her up for ballet lessons … she’s no ballerina. As Candace moves and grooves across the floor, she topples all the ballerinas in her path. Her teacher, Miss Grace, tries to teach her proper ballet positions, but Candace is more interested in shakes and shimmies than plies and pas de bourrées. When disaster strikes during the big recital, can ungraceful Candace step up and save the day? Candace Center Stage :

I loved this colorful book. The cover with the glitter was a perfect idea. Very eye catching. My favorite was Harry the hamster. He stole the show throughout the book. He is so cute dancing with Candace. I had hamsters before, they are my favorite little noise makers. Candance loved to dance. At first she thought ballet wasn't for her. At the end she pushed herself to learn and never gave up. Reach for your dreams no matter how far, difficult or unimaginable they are.

Cute kids book with beautiful illustrations and an even more beautiful message!

Very cute story. Playful and colorful illustrations.
It teaches that the most important thing is to be yourself.
But also that with hard work, you can accomplish anything.
I think little girls will love this story,as much as I did.

Candace is flipping and twirling all over the house, so her mom signs her up for ballet lessons. Candace is great at doing her own thing, but she doesn't know if she can do all the steps she's supposed to learn in class. Will ballet be a big flop, or can Candace do this thing?

This is both an affirmation of persevering through hard things, even if people say you can't do it and you doubt yourself. It's also a little celebration of being your own person. I'm sure there are a lot of kids who can relate to Candace, and many who need the encouragement to keep going. Hand this to a little one who needs encouragement to keep plugging away even when the going gets tough.

I don't usually like children's books written by celebrities. But this is an exception. Bure writes a story of a little girl who loves to dance, and who is encouraged to continue practice even when it doesn't necessarily go her way.

Lessons: Sometimes the things we want require work and perseverance to get there. You can support your friends when they are afraid.

This was sweet and funny and had a nice message. Lots of little ones will identify with the story and it might inspire them.
