The Clean-Up Crew: A Lift-the-Page Truck Book (Finn's Fun Trucks) Reviews
-
Many youngsters are simply crazy for trucks, which guarantees that this board book will have an immediately receptive audience. In its pages, they will find five trucks, including a garbage truck, a recycling truck, a vacuum truck, a street sweeper, and a snowplow. For each truck, readers can lift a flap to see what the truck does. The cover flap displays various parts of the trucks, and the final pages show all the trucks moving busily along the city streets with their crew. I I like the idea of highlighting work that is important but often goes unnoticed. Youngsters will enjoy the colorful pages and looking for the trucks described here as they go about their own neighborhood.

This board book introduces youngsters to five different types of trucks commonly used to clean up roadways in cities and towns.
Coyle's formula is to state the name of the truck and ask readers to guess what it does on the left side of a spread. On the right side is a flap to be opened; on the top of the flap is an illustration of the truck with parts labeled and inside are a couple of sentences about what the truck does.
Srimalie Bassani's illustrations are adequate and feature what appears to be a diverse set of city workers who drive the trucks.
Nothing special here.
Optional purchase for toddlers. -
There are 5 people on Finn's clean up crew and each drives a different truck. The truck is pictured and the parts are labeled and the reader gets to guess what the truck does. When they lift the flap the truck is shown doing its job!
The truck loving child will enjoy this book. Big, bold colored trucks, and the flaps are fold out pages so there's little wear and tear if the book is read all the time.
