Les Misérables Reviews

Wow and wow!! Been a bout 20 years since I read this one. Couldn't put it down! Makes me wonder if there are people out there like Jean Valjean, with his determination, devotion, generosity, perserverance and vision. Can't imagine a movie or a musical doing justice to this complex and intertwined story.

Good, interesting, full of lots of philosophical tangents. Some I liked, others I didn't. Interesting how a recap of the battle of Waterloo (you need the full recap to introduce Thenardier accidentally saving Marius' dad, I guess) can pull so much nationalism out of a historic *defeat.*

Only book I've read NON-STOP, around the clock. Took about 16 hours and I was in tears by the end.

  • Josh Burgess

One of the best books ever written. I think this was my fourth time through. Get something new each time.
