There’s no doubt the world is in trouble. We see tragedy in the streets and violence in the news. We hear increasingly divisive political debates that spotlight the deep and bitter divisions in our society. We feel the pain and confusion of a culture that seems to be coming apart at the seams.
How do we explain so much chaos? How do we live with such turmoil? And is there any hope for peace in our time?
As one of the world’s most beloved Bible teachers, Dr. David Jeremiah is the perfect voice to help answer these questions. And in Escape the Coming Night, Dr. Jeremiah walks through the perfect Scripture for these uncertain times: The Book of Revelation. In Dr. Jeremiah’s hands, this exploration of Revelation is shocking and eye-opening, but also consistently uplifting—and a vital message for our time.

Many times I've read the book of Revelation in the New Testament and wanted to have a better understanding of it. Different times at church we have studied it but still every time I read a book about it I found that I learn something I didn't know before. So when my Friend told me about this book I thought about reading it. Then when Book Bub notified me that Amazon was offering it to readers at an unbelievable price for the ebook version I knew it was the right time to buy it and read it.
What the book of Revelation shares with us is a look into the end of time. Dr David Jeremiah shares with readers his knowledge of this book . He has written it in an easy way to understand. He did answer some questions I had but I'm still confused on some of Revelation. This tells me that I may be reading this book again and also other books about revaluation.
If you are intrigued by Revaluation and have questions about it than Dr David Jeremiah's Escape the Coming Night could be what you're looking for and quite possibly a book you should consider reading.
I rated it 5 stars because it was very helpful to me and if I find a book on Revaluation that helps me understand it better than I did before I read it it's worthy of a high rating! -
This is one of the best books on Bible prophecy I’ve read. Dr. David Jeremiah breaks down the book of Revelation in a way that makes it easier to understand. This book helps understand that the end times isn’t doom and gloom, but glorious hope in Jesus Christ. It does talk about what happens to those that reject Christ. Those are the only ones that should worry.

Dr. Jeremiah explores the book of Revelation in a practical way. I have previously done an in depth study of Revelation twice. There is no one who teaches on this topic as well as David Jeremiah, in my opinion. You can work through Revelation in your bible as you study through this book. Excellent for anyone wanting to understand more about end times. There’s plenty here to make readers take notice of what's happening in the world around them--and what the Bible says is to come. I will definitely read again, this is my first favorite of 2023.

This book is horrible. It is presented as a Bible study of the book of Revelation, but is really the author's sadistic fantasy of how sinners will be pjnished in the end. There is hardly any exegesis of the text and little support for how the author came to his views. It is just one more re-hash of dispensationalism, which no serious Bible scholar considers valid. Instead, check out Eugene Peterson, N.T. Wright, or Barbara Rossing, who are actual Bible scholars who can give an accurate interpretation.

This was a well written book that I enjoyed the whole way through. Very seldom do I find a book that I can't put down but this was one of them. I recommend this book to anyone wanting to take a deeper looking into biblical prophecy and what the book of Revelation has in store for both believers and non-believers. Don't be left behind!

Dr. Jeremiah's books are so good and informative. "Escape The Coming Night" is centered in the book of Revelation and he explains it so wonderfully. I highly recommend this book.

This book provides a good overview of the book of Revelation. A sequence of events that leads up to the return of Jesus Christ. The book describes the Antichrist, Armageddon, Tribulation, Great Tribulation, Judgement, Heaven etc.
Numbers and symbols are important in the Bible. The number 666 is the mark of the Beast (Antichrist). Seven is a perfect number in scripture. Seven Angels, Churches, Seven Candlesticks, Seven Crowns, Seven Eyes, Seven Heads, Seven Horns, Seven Lamps, Seven Seals, Seven Spirits, Seven Trumpets, etc. Seven stands for completeness. Numbers and symbols can be used as a secret code.
Here are some examples: "In his right hand he held seven stars" Revelation 1:16 (NIV), "In his right hand he held seven stars" Revelation 1:13 (NKJV), The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands which you saw are the seven churches." Revelation 1:20 (NIV) . "In front of the throne, seven lamps were blazing. These are the seven spirits of God." Revelation 4:5 (NIV) Seven is a sign of completion
Pastor Jeremiah said that Satan does not like it when we quote scripture. "Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades." Revelation 1:17-18 The Four Horseman of the Apocalypse are described in Escape the Night. "The dragon stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. It had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on its horns, and on each head a blasphemous name." Revelation 13:1 Jesus Christ is the light at the end of the tunnel. -
This was the second contemporary commentary on the Book of Revelation that I had read up to that point in my life. This was 1992. I was reading through the Bible annually and reading books like J. Vernon McGee's paperback commentaries through books of the Bible.
I made myself wait two years before touching the Book of Revelation. The first book I read was, "Approaching Hoofbeats," by Billy Graham. This was the second. And with these two under my belt, I was on a pretty solid foundation for the next nears 30 years of Bible study and teaching. It wasn't until 2013 that I actually did teach on the Book of Revelation. We spent 100 hours of weekly study for two years going verse by verse. And I credited this book with being one of several that was very helpful.
It has it's shortcomings. I disagree with some of the commentary. I dislike the Vatican-based new versions (as is the case with nearly all evangelical authors since I became a Christian, at least). And it's a little "light" for the mature Bible student.
But I have such fond memories of enjoying this as a babe in Christ. I devoured it and read it twice. So, overall, I still have to give it threes stars. But I do wonder... did he water down things in the new edition I've seen advertised? I may have to check that out sometime. -
Here is a commentary on Revelation [as in, the last book of the Bible] that does NOT read like a commentary. Similar, I suppose, to Hal Lindsay's commentary done many years ago. As I am used to reading commentaries it was a little off-putting at the first but I quickly warmed up to it. Excellent volume, high view of Scripture and solid, sensible teaching.
If I have any issues with the book it is that he endorses, to some degree, the ever-popular but highly suspect view that the 7 churches represent the ages of Church history [basically impossible if the Bible teaching of the imminent return of Christ is true, which, it is]. That is a minor flaw in an otherwise exciting, exemplary book.
I realize Dr. Jeremiah is a popular speaker/writer/pastor but strangely enough this is only the second book of his I have read. I have been impressed. -
CHIRP AUDIOBOOK
I enjoy listening to David Jeremiah on his daily television programs, and found his sermons on Revelation and end time prophecy to be fascinating… I purchased this audiobook to revisit the Bible study, in order to guide me into a deeper understanding of what’s happening today and where it’s leading us. Unfortunately, it’s narrated by someone else (Henry O. Arnold) and not David Jeremiah… and while he does a good job with the book, my preference would have been to listen to the author. I enjoy the audiobook because I’m able to listen to it as I travel, thereby making my journey more interesting and learning about the Word at the same time. Overall, I think it’s a great book and HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT for anyone who loves Jesus and prophecy. -
Well organized and very readable, this Christian treatment is more winsome than most in its tone while still making the urgency clear. This exploration may be way more material than I am thinking will hook a non-believer’s attention, but this has the kind of Pastoral concern I also want to incorporate: while being authoritative and readable. My Pocket Guide will be shorter than Jeremiah’s typical treatments, mine a stepping stone to further discovery.

A must-read for someone that needs to know about the end times!
This is a great book for a person who wants an explanation, in simple terms, of the antichrist, the false prophet, and the mark of the beast, etc. It's well written and very easy to understand. Unlike some that give vague explanations, this my favorite. I finished the book knowing exactly how it worked out for me. I believe you will too. -
This book was very informational about the times that are forming and that will be! It is exciting for the Believer in Jesus Christ but it would scare those who are not His people. I really enjoyed reading this book and did not want to put it down. I was sorry that it also had to come to an end. I think that many should read this to prepare them for the future things that are to come. David Jeremiah is a great teacher and preacher and many should listen to what he has to share!

This is a really good book about the current events going on in the world today and how they play out in Bible prophecy. I can't give it 5 stars because I did find what should have been an obvious error. But overall the book is worthy of 4 stars. Were living in the end times now and the information that David Jeremiah shares in this book is very important.

Wonderful book filled with clear and concise revelations regarding the prophecy and the fulfillment and signs found in the Book of Revelation. Dr. Jeremiah is a prominent scholar on this book and the end of times prophecy regarding the Rapture and the Second Coming of Christ as foretold in the scriptures of the Holy Bible.
-
Well, I certainly enjoy Bible prophecy. Dr. Jeremiah explains the oft-overlooked book of Revelation. I truly enjoyed it, and found Dr. Jeremiah's writing style to be clear, without a lot of boring details; but yet it was explanatory.

Intriguing and eye opening!
The book of Revelation is a confusing and intense book, sometimes very hard to comprehend, this book by Dr. Jeremiah helped clear up and answer many questions. -

Revelation
A very good book. I think this is a very accurate discussion of the book of Revelation. I agree it’s him on most points.
