Sotto il titolo che sta a capo di questo volume pubblicai, non ha gran tempo nel nuovo Giornale pel Popolo di Torino, alcuni proverbi popolarmente illustrati alla maniera del Giusti. Parve che codesti saggi non dispiacessero, giacchè n'ebbi in buon nu mero approvazioni e incoraggiamenti, e li vidi ristam pati in parecchi giornali popolari della Penisola. Giò mi fu segno di aver messa la mano sopra un tema Opportuno e gradito, in che sta tanta parte della for tuna d' un libro, e m' incoraggi a comporne un libro per la Biblioteca Utile, tanto diffusa, e non immeri tamente in Italia.
