A Great Book by a Remarkable Teacher

I seriously doubt that I would fit the expected demographic for purchasers of this book. I am 68 years of age and have been nearly bed-ridden for the past 20 years with a failed spine which only allows me to be vertical for about 15 minutes at a time before the pain becomes unbearable. But my mind is still fine (despite what my wife posts on Face Tube) and in an attempt to keep it active, I purchased a number of math texts.
To date this is the best of the bunch. The author builds a solid knowledge of the subject, one easily digestable bit at a time. At each step along the path, she includes a set of problems which reinforce your understanding of that particular concept. I can't say that this book would replace a teacher and a class room, but if the reader is truely after a working knowledge of the subject of Algebra, they can get it from this book. I'm looking forward to Book II.
