Solstice Song (Pagan Passion, #1) Reviews

“Can a famous but lonely music superstar find her happily ever after with a pagan Irishman who can’t be tamed?
Barbadian, loner, pagan...I’ve heard every label and then some. Here in Wintervale, Ireland, nature reigns supreme. It’s hunt or be hunted. Kill or be killed. Don’t let the pretty name fool you, savagery lays just underneath the lush exterior. If I want something, I take it. No one dares deny me. No one asks questions.
Not until her.
She’s an interloper. An outcast here. With her lush curves, her prissy ways, and her obscene American accent. I want nothing to do with her. She needs to pack up her tour bus, her guitars, and her designer clothes and hightail it out of here before she gets hurt.
Savannah Star is a demi God in her country. But we don’t worship people here. She thinks just because she’s rich and famous, she’s right. That her ways are better. I won’t let her make me feel less than. Out here, we’re more primitive. And she’s never going to tame me.
Ever.
The only thing I want from the stunning Savannah Star is her body. Never her soul. It’s tainted with the dark colors of a world that I don’t believe in.
But she wants me. I can smell her lust along with her surrender. And her lush curves beg me to take it all. Soon, her mouth will beg me, too. And I’ll give it to her. Every single inch I have to give.
And she’ll love it.”
I really liked the story but it was a bit hard to follow at times due to the amount of Irish slang used (kudos to the author, by the way, for doing so much research), hence only 4 stars. Otherwise, great story!
**NOTE** apparently there is a glossary for the Irish slang that was used. Look at the end of the book (I got it as part of the “holidays ever after” boxed set; check loc 3460 or thereabouts). -
This book is one of many that I got in a holiday collection of stories by many different authors. I got it on Amazon for very inexpensive and I was all about it. This story just wasn't really for me. Once I actually got into it, I did enjoy it a bit more. I think the major reason i didn't like this book that much was because it takes place in a very remote town in ireland, one of the main characters speaks with an Irish dialect and he is also a pagan. Now there is nothing wrong with any of those aspects of the story, but that really hinders me from connecting to the characters. When I can't relate to a character, I can't connect with them and that makes the story less enjoyable for me.

Music to your Heart.
A different type of story from Colleen but none the less still a great read.
Pop princess Savannah is on her tour she's in Ireland on her way to Scotland. She's traveling with her driver Mel when their bus brakes down in the snow.
Ronan a hunk of a man who lives of the land with no need for the outside world. He comes across Savannah and saves her.
Theres sparkes between them. Can Ronan be what Savannah needs in her life? Could Savannah be the one thats been seen in Ronans future? -
Well heeeeellllooooo this is most definitely a change from this authors normal style and I loved it. The banter between these two is fun and off the charts. They push and pull each other in so many directions. And the sister and how she manipulated things all for her brothers love. I love the mountain man Irish brogue and how he was all anti-technology and his beliefs and she just doesn't fit but works with him against all odds. It's a great read that you will laugh and do deep sighs over and just have a great time with this author letting her hair down and doing something different.

A steamy, romantic story that delivers. I loved Ronan and the passion he has for his traditions. Ms.Charles does a fantastic job describing Ronan's beliefs and how he celebrates traditions that mean so much to him. I also like how she wrote the Irish accent and their slang. Ronan and Savie have a beautiful chemistry and great banter. They bring out the best and worst in each other. I thoroughly enjoyed how Caris, Ronan's sister, is able to "bend" things to her brother's favor. A fun read.

A song for love
I loved Ronan and Savanahs story. Colleen Charles is such a talented writer and you can tell her stories come from her heart. Finding love all by itself is tough but when you are singing star in the lime light brings so much more hard times. I don't like giving spoilers away for other readers but I will say this is a must read for everyone. Check out her reviews and other books and you will be hooked on her writing. -
Can two totally opposite people make love work? That's the question in Colleen Charles's Solstice Song. Savannah, "Savvie" , Starr is a world renowned popstar, while Ronan is the leader of a mostly isolated clan in remote Ireland called Wintervale. Ronan had a vision that has shown the two of them together, but can't imagine how that could happen, because music is the only thing they have in common. This book is heartwarming, and sweet, and funny, and a great read if you like HEA.

How can you not fall in love with Savannah and Ronan's story?. They're opposites in so many ways. She's a big American star and he's a loner in Ireland Fate brings them together when her tour bus breaks down. Well written with likable characters and an enchanting story. It's hard to put down once you start. A great story that I received as a free gift during an author promotion and voluntarily chose to write a review.

I must say that this is not my normal read but I found myself struggling to put this book down. The dialogue was sometimes hard to follow but after you got used to it, it was easier to read. I thoroughly enjoyed the plot and story line. I loved that it was only a couple of days but the author did not make it feel rushed.
*I received this copy for free for my honest opinion* -
Superb book, brilliant story of Savie and Ronan, I couldn’t put it down and I really did not want it to end, I now can’t wait for the next book. I loved the pagan element to the book especially as I follow the pagan/Wiccan ways and it’s nice to have it brought into a novel. Well written and a credit to the author. -
Great story
Loved this book. All of Colleen 's books come to live.Couldn't protrusions down. Loved the pagan aspect of the book. Glossary at the end is useful if you don't l is the language. -
I was hooked from beginning to end.
I wanted to go past the epilogue and see what happens in the future.
Even though I want to punch Ronan, I still think he's super hot! Savie, you have to love a woman who fights back and still loves! She's my hero! -
Wow!
I enjoyed reading this story. It was a wild and crazy ride but well worth it. Give this book a chance because you have to get used to the slang but it is so worth it. -
Colleen Charles does it again. This story is a bit different than what you usually write but was pleasantly surprised. The story will suck you in. I couldn’t put it down. Great job.

I read this book as part of

This was a sweet story while also being quite steamy. Savannah (Savie) Starr is a singer on tour. She meets Ronan O'Farrell, Bard of his village, when her bus breaks down on a back road in Wintervale, Ireland just before Yule. Instead of freezing on the bus, she choses to follow Ronan back to his very primitive home where they continue to not get along. This story was engaging and had me hooked from the beginning. While it is HEA with no cliffhanger, I feel that there were some things left unsettled, particularly in regard to Ronan's chauvinistic, controlling behavior and his role as Bard. I enjoyed that the story was told from both Savie's and Ronan's perspectives. While there were some issues with the story switching between past and present tense, I gleaned a lot of information about Paganism, Yule, and druidism (provided all information was correct). Overall, I really enjoyed this book. Note, if you are struggling with some of the Irish slang in the book, you can find a glossary of the terms at the end of the book. -
A right good book, and that’s the truth as I’ll be tellin it!
Ms. Charles has done it again and produced a wonderful book about two people who seem to be so wrong for each other, and yet need each other so much, just to learn from each other. The two could not be more different—her with all things designer and jewels—and he, a rugged and rustic outdoorsman who still practiced the “old ways”. Again, Colleen has a lesson for us to learn in her wonderful romances. Don’t embrace what is new so much that you forget where you came from; alternatively don’t stay in the past and bemoan the future when you can affect it. This couple had to come to the understanding that to find love they first had to find a compromise that each could live with. Not for their sake but for the sake of the other person. -
Solstice Song was a great story. I love the feel of this one, I’ve not read anything like it before. Everything about Ronan’s life intrigues me. Soul mates. So opposite yet do similar.

Opposites truly do attract, city girl meets country boy. Annoy each other but then grow to love one another. I loved the Irish slang & the banter between the characters. Another fantastic story from Colleen Charles. Recommend to all.

This is by far my new favorite by Ms. Charles! I loved Ronan and Savie as individual characters and together. The transition they each go through throughout the story is awesome. Well worth the read! I'm happy that it was able to be published as a stand-alone novel.
