With Cane, I’d been through hell and back, and now, I was going to be walking up the alter, promising my life to a man that I’d gambled everything for.
Some would call me dumb.
Some would deem me insane.
Others would say I was a fool in love.
But I knew what we were, and I knew what we had was real.
With every marriage, there is always something that can hold you back or make you think twice, and this something was going to be one of our biggest wars yet, or our greatest victory ever.

So I am going to sum up books 2-3.5 in this review since I just read them back to back. It's been awhile since I had finished book 1 but I knew I needed to finish the series after I was left reeling from the the first books ending.
I have always been a fan of Shanora Williams and love her style of writing. This series was a little different from what I normally read but I was intrigued after the first book. The storyline is unique and my curiosity had me glued but I dont think its William's best work. You may read it and it will become your favorite series but it was lacking for me. The romance was lovely although at times a bit childish and repetitive. There was drama and sometimes it flowed easily with the dialogue and others it felt forced. Even though this may not be her best work, in my opinion, the storyline is still good. I look forward to what William's releases in the future. Till then, buy the series and enjoy. -

Age Gap | Forbidden Romance
What a wonderful ending to the series! I just breezed through this book in an hour and a half. It's a novella, probably around 150 pages, but it's definitely not hard to read from beginning to end in one small sitting. Not only that, it's interesting enough to hold your attention the whole way through. I loved it! Kandy and Cane's love story wasn't an easy one for either of them but all the drama lead to an beautiful HEA. I highly recommend this series to those who are looking for a forbidden romance!
That being said, I will keep this review short and sweet as the story isn't long and it wraps up Kandy and Cane's epic romance very well. If you HAVEN'T read the series make sure you start at the beginning and read them in order as they are NOT standalones. These books focus on the forbidden romance between Kandy- and 18 year old girl (in the beginning) and her father's best friend who is in his 30's. These books have HEAT (loads and loads of sexy times that will keep you blushing), some drama and suspense, and a whole lot of love! Shanora does each trope phenomenally and readers will feel the passion. I won't get into what happens in this book as it would spoil it for potential readers, but I will say that all of it made my heart burst with joy! It's so nice to see these two finally get their HEA after all the awful crap they have gone through to get together.
All in all, this series as a whole get 4 stars from me! I loved it. I ached for the characters, cried with them, and fell in love with them. I know many readers will feel the same as I do. That being said, I highly recommend each and every book! -
This was a cute and sweet ending to an angsty series. Everything was tied up with a bow, I really liked the Cane series!
-
Eh... Age gaps normally don't bother me, but Kandy just has this young factor about her that was annoying...

My graphic is kind of a spoiler so I hid it...
⭐️ 5 "I Do" Stars ⭐️
After all the adversity Kandy and Cane faced during the first three novels of the Canes Series, Being Mrs. Cane is finally their time to get their happily ever after. What started as an intense attraction blossomed into so much more through the span of this brilliant series. Shanora Williams depicts in this last installment a couple destined to be together as they prepare for matrimony.“Show her how unbreakable we really are.”
This novella doesn’t have the suspense the previous books had, but it doesn’t mean that everything is all perfect in their life. As any couple, they live certain difficulties but they support each other. It’s so beautiful to see the kind of understanding, devotion and trust they finally reached. They definitely learned from their mistakes and now they embrace their feelings entirely, opening up to each other about their problems. While they’re sweet and tender, the passion is still omnipresent between these two!
I really enjoyed this story, where every little complication from the past is resolved! All loose ends are tied. Once again, the supporting characters bring an evident depth to the story. Kandy’s mom is the constant supportive model and her dad is slowly accepting the feelings she shares with Cane are genuine and profound! I adored Lora and her wild personality so much and I hope she gets her own story. Frankie’s scandalous affair with Clay is also something I’d like to read! *fingers crossed*“My heart will beat only for you, because my heart belongs to you.”
Being Mrs. Cane is truly the best gift Shanora Williams could give her readers. The beautiful love story of Kandy and Cane was so exquisite to witness and they deserved their little happily ever after!!!

this was actually cute!!

We've been in love with the Tabboo couple Kandy & Quinton Cane for a long time now. They've withstood the test of time, relationships, society, parents, work and exes and still emerged strong holding each other's hands, and now is the time to relax and plan the wedding......
Sorry, shanora has other plans! Their travails don't end..yet!
Surprise happens in the second chapter itself and you're all GASP!😳 , what the......!!😮
There's always a serpent in the Garden Of Eden Just Saying🤷♀️
“You are very young, Kandy.”
“He’ll definitely end up leaving you at the altar.”
Kandy is surprisingly mature and wise for her age,we have seen ample evidences of that, but I think she's over her head in here now with a new development.
After everything we’d been through, we deserved our own slice of happiness. We’d faced a lot of battles, been through a lot of wars, but going through this was going to be our biggest fight of all. Deep in my heart, I knew it could either make us or break us. I prayed it would be the former.
I wanted to go hold her so bad!!
Cane has his own personal battle of sorts going on on the side, he's stressed to the max and matters at home aren't helping either.
I felt awful that Cane and I were butting heads so much. We were like two rams in an open field sometimes, going head-to-head over the most trivial things. I couldn’t stand it. It wasn’t like us, and I knew most of it was my fault, but sometimes I couldn’t help the way I felt.
What happens next? ......Go pick up the book when it releases and read it!!!
It's a perfect ending to a scintillating, tumultuous love story that was neatly tied up by Shanora in this sequel. A story of a couple who had to prove time and time again that they were destined to be together.
They had the whole world against them but their bond was unbreakable just because they had trust, love, lust, passion, loyalty and mutual respect. All they wanted was to be given a Chance!

Now, with that being said, let me explain why.
I love, adore, and cherish Quinton Cane. This series has made me laugh, cry, lose my mind, and wish I had my own Mr. Cane. I have devoured each book as soon as they were published and Being Mrs. Cane was no different. Although the new (life-changing!) developments in their lives were exciting, the delivery left me a bit disappointed.
*SPOILERS FOR PREVIOUS BOOKS*
This begins eight weeks after Cane proposed to Kandy during their vacation to Belize. After what happened with Kelly and the trauma that Kandy endured in previous books, Kandy was told there was a very low chance she would ever be able to conceive and carry another baby to term. The couple receives some news regarding this matter that changes their lives. Multiple time jumps occur, , and then we are given a summary of the next few months after before we arrive at Kandy's college graduation. I realize the story was written this way to highlight the major changes that occurred, but I wanted to experience it with the couple. .
Besides that, the other issue I had was the pointless drama.
1. A woman from Cane's past (like 15 years ago) comes back into his life, stirs up drama, and then quickly departs never to be seen again. What was the point of that? It didn't cause problems for the couple, she added nothing to the story, and it didn't change anything happening within the story. All it did was make me roll my eyes.
2. Past characters from Breaking Mr. Cane come back and we learn what happened to Brody and Sophie, the two who got Kandy kicked out of college. Brody comes back to apologize . I don't give two shits about Brody. It's great that his character got redemption and we saw Kandy being the bigger person but, again, I wanted to see Kandy and Cane - not some character that is irrelevant.
3. Lora, Cane's sister, has a major freak out at the wedding. The purpose seemed to be setting her up for a spin-off of her own, but it was again pointless drama I don't care about.
The common theme here? Not enough time dedicated to Kandy and Cane's relationship and happiness.
I realize it seems I hated the book, but I swear I didn't.
Drama for drama's sake, the couple not being the center of the story, and huge time jumps with a summarization are personal pet peeves. Some people do not mind it and that's okay! I did enjoy the book but it was not what I expected and that's why I'm disappointed.
What did I enjoy?
- I loved seeing Kandy's dad finally come around and accept their relationship.
- Cane's excitement over .
- Seeing the couple's love and relationship continue to grow and flourish.
- Cane's vulnerability.
- Kandy's mom loving and defending her daughter come hell or high water.
- Lora's care-free and crazy personality.

After witnessing the epic love of Quinton Cane and Kandy Jennings unfold and bloom throughout the whole Cane series… after all the heartaches and uphill battles… we finally get the beautiful happily ever after we’ve always wanted for them. One that they’ve worked blood, sweat and tears for. One that they, without a doubt, fully deserve.
My heart will beat only for you, because my heart belongs to you.
Surprisingly, I got so much more than I ever expected from this novella, and I absolutely enjoyed and devoured every page. Shanora Williams not only gave us the chance to have a front-row seat to the journey of these two in tying the knot, but she also tied up every loose end you didn’t know you needed in the series. There were lots of sweet surprises and little twists you won’t see coming, but ultimately, Being Mrs. Cane just made me so happy and my heart so incredibly full.Being Mrs. Cane is something I thought would never happen, yet there I was, right in Quinton Cane’s arms, standing as his wife. His soulmate.
If you’ve read all three books in the Cane series… If you’ve followed these two and cheered them on every step of the way… If you love this couple who defied the odds as much as I do… then you’ll definitely want to read this. Actually, I highly recommend that you do. Because this is most certainly the golden bow that wraps this whole story up so nicely and perfectly.

Being Mrs. Cane (Cane #3.5)
By: Shanora Williams
4.5 Stars
I totally enjoyed reading this series. Being Mrs. Cane was the perfect ending to all the ups and downs this couple has gone through.
One thing that stays true is the love that Kandy and Mr. Cane have for each other. They have battled all the demons holding them back and are now ready to walk down the aisle.
It’s not an easy trip to the altar to say the I dos to each other. There’s a new gal in town and she is there to stir the pot. There is a mysterious man lurking in the woods. Where will these two characters take us?
This book ties up any questions/loose ends. I’m left totally satisfied as a reader. Shanora has proven once again that the younger woman/older man can survive when it seems as though everyone is batting against them. Can’t wait to see what comes next from this fantastic author!!!

Can I just say that there is a difference between never, ever and a 15 percent chance?
Kandy annoyed me, especially considering her unique circumstances. There are hormones, and then there is just plain old stupidity. You decide.
I Love Lora! She is a cool chick and reminds me of Lena, that Girl Friday that works for Ray Donovan. Another cool chick that deserves her own show! Like Lena, Lora always makes an impactful appearance, even though her role is small.
“Lora,” Cane hissed as she met at his side. “Have some class, will you? You already aren’t supposed to be here.”
“Class?” Lora laughed. “What the hell is that?”
“I’m not kidding,” he mumbled.
“Neither am I. Never heard of it.”
Just no to the female character that came out of nowhere and disappeared just as quickly. Another big no for resurrecting a character that I didn't give a fig about. Your opinion may differ.
Loved the moments between father and daughter. All and all, a nice wrap-up and definitely worth the time to read to end the series on a high note.
If the author writes a story about Lora or Frankie, I will read it. -

After the wild ride that Candy and Canes relationship has taken me on, honestly I was so ready for them to walk off into the sunset and live hea. They’ve had so much to overcome, from jealous crazy ex’s to damaged parent/child relationships but their love has been a constant throughout. Candy has changed immensely from the young girl we first met in Wanting Mr Cane and I adored her. She has a quiet determination about her, her love for Cane truly knows no limits and she has an inner strength that has surprised me over and over again.
A fantastic conclusion to Candy and Canes story. -
Kandy & Quinton Cane have been a captivating and taboo read since the beginning of the series and now that their series is wrapping up, the angst, drama, tension, feels, twists, passion and romance just goes into overdrive.
I won't say much because I don't want to ruin the story, but I can say that this is just utter perfection and the feels just hit you in the soul.
Kandy and Cane went through so much in their relationship and lives , things that would break a normal couple yet this couple is like the super couple who made it thru everything thrown at them to get to where they finally ended up, finally together. Their journey wasn't easy and it was most definitely full with challenges.
This was a taboo series that was full of forbidden heat, drama, tension, sizzle, romance and love. Kandy and Cane get the ending they desperately deserve and much more!!Cane and Kandy's story/series finishes up amazing – plus there might even be a hint at what’s to come next… OMG,I cannot wait, for whatever is coming!!!
My Rating: 4.6 stars ***** -
BEING MRS CANE was the final instalment in Kandy and Canes story, and it finished off the series beautifully. I have enjoyed these books immensely and can’t wait to see what Shanora Williams is going to bring us next. 💜
-
I have really enjoyed this series from the very beginning and this book was the absolute perfect next step. It's been an emotional rollercoaster ride but it was well worth all of the trial and tribulations getting us to this final place.
-
I've LOVED every second this scandalously, taboo, steamy hot story of Kandy & Quinton Cane since the start.
Shanora Williams gave us the PERFECT storyline in these books and Being Mrs Cane was the PERFECT ending to this story!! This book had it all taboo, lust, love, trust, and passion. A must read series!

Forbidden, angsty, emotional and sinfully sexy… I absolutely LOVED this tension-filled taboo romance!
I’m going to post one review for the entire series (with no spoilers), instead of for each book individually, because I went from one book to the next without even taking a breath. I was utterly HOOKED on this smoldering hot and illicit romance between a young woman and her father’s best friend with a lengthy 17 year age-gap between them!
Ohhh, Mr. Cane....
That man did crazy things to my head, my heart and my vagina.
Kandy has had a crush on Cane ever since she met him when she was a young girl. He has never seen her more than exactly what she was - his best friend’s daughter… until she’s not a little girl anymore and makes her feelings known, then he starts seeing her in a whole new light. It isn’t just infatuation, it’s not a little crush that will go away anytime soon… she’s been in love with him for years. He resists her as much as he can but she’s grown into a beautiful and charming woman, making it that much harder to fight against her sexual advances. And when he finally gives in and they fall into bed together, it’s a nuclear explosion of raw and unbridled passion so hot that your kindle will need freezer time.
I adored these two together! They had a deep connection with each other and an undeniable chemistry. There were so many obstacles in their way threatening to tear them apart – pissed off parents, a crazy ex-girlfriend, bullies, pasts that haunt them – and there were times when my heart felt like it was in my throat, eyes threatening to spill with tears because I didn’t think they could come back from some of the things thrown at them, but their bond is never weakened. Their love never wavers. They are truly unbreakable.
I’m so glad that I waited to read this series until all the books were released because I don’t think I would’ve been patient waiting for each book. It was a fantastic binge read that I inhaled like I’d been starving for days.
Since this is the first time I’ve read Shanora Williams, I can guarantee I’ll be reading her backlist of books and keeping an eye on all future releases from her. She has some superb storytelling skills that pull the reader into the story, intoxicating them with every emotion laced into her words, and bringing her characters to life.
My ratings for each book:
Wanting Mr. Cane (Cane, #1) - 5 Stars
Breaking Mr. Cane (Cane, #2) - 5 Stars
Loving Mr. Cane (Cane, #3) - 4 Stars
Being Mrs. Cane (Cane, #3.5) - 4 Stars

I won't say much because I will ruin the story, but I can say this: THIS BOOK WAS PERFECTION. THE PERFECT ENDING FOR KANDY AND CANE.
This book had all the feels and I enjoyed every single page from beginning to end. My smile was huge, my heart was full and my eyes were teary when I read the words: The End. I never want their story to end but this ended it perfectly.
If you love darkish romance reads I highly recommend Cane series. I can't get enough of this woman's magical words. Such a brilliant mind.
Thank you, Shanora.
P.S.: #CallMeBettyCane -
Well the Cane series has come to a fab end *sobs in a corner*
I have certainly been on a fantastic sexy journey.
Shanora is just so freaking amazing and I love her Dads Best Friend books. So I knew this series would be right up my street.
Mr. Cane ♡♡ Gahhh I'm seriously going to miss that man!!! He was just EVERYTHING AND MORE!! He's changed a hell of a lot from the very first book. He's now right up on my list sharing the spot with #DaddyBlack ♡
Kandy Cane ♡ She's grown into her own so much since the first book. She's had so much that happened to her in each book but that made her so much stronger. Her and Cane together.... #PureMagic
I really am going to miss this series. From the very first book till the very last books.... Just loved it.
I've had laughter, sad and happy tear, swooned oh so much and wanted to slap someone so much all the way through the series.
But I wouldnt have it any other way lol.
Well done Shanora again on this fabulous read xx -
The conclusion to the epic taboo love story of Kandy and Quinton Cane has arrived and it was so satisfying. A quick read, we see Kandy has matured greatly over the course of the series, as the challenges she and Cane have had to face in both their relationship and in their own individual lives, has made it necessary. She’s now 22/23 years old and life has definitely been a challenge for her in general but the rewards end up being big. Totally love their relationship! The passion, the need, the selfless way they love each other and their families is really compelling. There’s considerably less drama in this book than the others, but there’s still some cuz this wouldn’t be Kandy we’re reading about if there weren’t lol Only thing I’m confused about is why the cover model looks white? I thought Kandy was biracial? Oh well, doesn’t matter, but really love the series and happy with how it ended. Good stuff!

Crazy road... I have been obssessed with Kandy and Cane since book one..
Their journey werent easy and full with challenges.
This couple had never let me down.. I envied their love, tenacity, driven mad consuming love and marathon sexy beyond my imagination!
I think they have grown together to be better for each other. To come out stronger and a survivor. This ending story was perfect... may I say its a fairytale? The story behind it wasnt a pretty one.. I have cried along their story.. This wasnt a sad moment but joyful memories to come. Love Kandy and Cane forever ❤❤❤❤❤ -
Being Mrs Cane is such a great final instalment to The Cane Series. I have loved reading the journey of both Kandy & Cane.
They have encountered all kinds of obstacles along the way and it’s been off the charts hot as hell, angsty and engaging and swoon worthy leads. If you love a great Taboo series then Being Mrs Cane and the entire series is a must read for you. Shanora knows how to bring the emotion and the steam to the two leads and this series has sky rocketed to one of my favs.
Highly recommended read. -
All good things must come to an end and what an ending. I love everything about this series and I have no regrets. I was totally satisfied with how this ended. Thank you Shanora for entertaining me during my break. It felt good to just binge read what I wanted and not worry about lesson plans, grading papers, or teaching. This was exactly what I needed to escape into someone else's world. Definitely recommend.

⭐️ 4.5/5
I love this novella! It was beautiful and everything I wanted for Kandy and Cane. They got what they deserved. And I love seeing Cane transform into a husband and then into a dad.
There was drama in this one, but I really didn’t grasp it as well as the other three only because I loved that they were together and I didn’t think anything can rip them apart. This was such a sweet and steamy book. I loved everything about it.
