The Rancher's Homecoming
Anna J Stewart
THE RANCHER'S HOMECOMING is the story of Katie Montgomery who works for Blackwell Ranch. Chance Blackwell has been summoned back to the family ranch by his brothers. All of his brothers are married or going to married, but Chance has been called home to be the deciding vote on selling the ranch or keeping it. Katie has been promised a huge promotion, one that she totally deserves. She has been the eyes and ears for Big E., the Blackwell's infamous grandfather who took off months ago. The men having been coming back to the ranch one at a time to help keep things running all with Katie's help! Hold on people, it's going to be a very bumpy but funny ride!
THE RANCHER'S HOMECOMING is the fifth and final book in the Return of the Blackwell Brothers series. All of the books are written by different authors and I cant believe its the end of this heart warming series. They can all be read as stand alones. Anna J Stewart writes about characters that become real right before your eyes. All of the characters are very interesting and believable, so much so that I felt as if I've known them for a long time. THE RANCHER'S HOMECOMING is a heart tugging and wonderful tale and I loved it. I loved how Chance was very protective of Katie but hated that he didn't think they could have a relationship. He cared for her but couldn't love her. Confused? You see, Katie is Chance's sister in law. Read the story, you will not regret it! I soon found myself cheering for Chance and Katie every time I turned the page.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading THE RANCHER'S HOMECOMING. It is funny and heart warming and filled with so many different emotions. There is so much going on in this story, but Anna J Stewart does a wonderful job of weaving all the pieces together. All of the characters will have you feeling sad and then giggling on the same page. More than once I wanted to be on that ranch with all of these awesome and loving people! The ending was perfect and had me laughing out loud! Once you finish devouring this story, you will find yourself with a huge lump in your throat and tears in your eyes!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Prism Book Tours. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. -
I was looking forward to the finale in The Blackwell Brothers Return series with Chance’s story being told. This was a 4.5 star read for me, rounded up to a 5. The final installment brings the last brother home to the ranch and ties up the loose ends well. It is a standalone story but as it brings together all the Blackwell Brothers, their “attachments”, and wonderful characters surrounding them, I highly recommend reading the series.
Chance Blackwell comes back to the family ranch with his daughter Rosie. After several requests, phone calls, text messages and meetings, he finally made it back. He has not wanted to return to the place where he always felt he didn't fit, but her also does not want to face his deceased wife’s father, the one who disowned her when she married Chance and then never answered her desperate calls when she was diagnosed with a fatal illness. His sister-in-law Katie tries to repair some bridges but the terrible feelings and memories are hard to overcome. Chance loved his wife Maura and his music career that Maura encouraged, that is, until Maura got so sick. When she died, he had Rosie to raise and felt he lost his muse, so gave up on his music. He only played for Rosie. Once he returns to the ranch, Rosie falls in love with the place and does not want to leave. Can Chance overcome his feelings, pick up his guitar and write music again and deal with his feelings for Katie?
I really enjoyed this story. The characters are engaging and believable, the story line is both heart warming and sweet. Watching as Chance and Katie both come to terms with their past, and the mistakes they both made is such a wonderful journey. Rosie is adorable and with children in the story it always tugs at my heartstrings. I love how this group of authors came together to write a series that fits together so well. The fact that we finally come face to face with Elias Blackwell and really see why the boys felt how they did, was satisfying. To see how they were able to finally move on from the wounds they received from him as they grew up was also a wonderful way to end this series. I definitely recommend this book and series to everyone who loves second chance stories filled with love, forgiveness and family relationships. The author generously provided me with a copy of this book to read upon my request. The rating, ideas and opinions shared are my own. -
The Rancher’s Homecoming wrapped up this series beautifully. Chance and Katie had a lot of heartbreak to overcome before they could find their happily-ever-after. I really felt for Chance and all that he and his daughter lost when his wife died. He was stuck in more ways than one.
Katie carried many burdens. She dealt with so much more than most people knew about. In previous books, her father’s bad health was hinted at. The reader knew that Katie had unoffically taken on all of her father’s responsibilities as foreman. Yet the sad truth of the situation did not become clear until this novel.
I loved watching Katie and Chance find each other. Their attraction was complicated by the fact that Chance’s late wife was Katie’s sister. Chance loved his first wife completely. Could Katie ever measure up in her own way and become as treasured to him as Maura had been?
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Ohh my gosh! I read this book so very quickly. If you've read the previous books in this series, RETURN OF THE BLACKWELL BROTHERS, then you almost know Chance. I say almost because you only really get to KNOW Chance when you read his book, THE RANCHER'S HOMECOMING. This book can be read as a stand alone but I'd highly recommend you read the previous titles so you'll understand Katie and Chance's story and the situation of the Blackwell Brothers. Fans of Anna J. Stewart know that she writes great stories, with well developed and realistic characters as well as story lines that tug at your heartstrings. This story is no different. The characters are engaging and believable, the story line is both heart rending and sweet. Watching as Chance and Katie both come to terms with their past, and the mistakes they both made is such a wonderful journey. You will be thrilled you took this ride with them. Fans of well written, easy to read, deeply engaging stories are sure to be delighted with THE RANCHER'S HOMECOMING. I do wish we could return to this family and maybe see the kids all grown up........a great addition to anyone's reading list!

I received this book for free from the Prism Book Tours in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Will Chance agree to keep the ranch or sell it?
The end of The Blackwell Brother’s Return is here with The Rancher’s Homecoming by Anna J. Stewart. This last book is about the fifth Blackwell brother, Chance Blackwell, and their ranch hand Katie Montgomery. Chance Blackwell is the deciding vote to keep the ranch or to sell it. He doesn't have time for the ranch as he is a famous singer who is trying to make a comeback. Katie Montgomery just wants to be able to work and live at the only place she has called home.
Chance Blackwell
The main male character is Chance Blackwell. He is the youngest of all the Blackwell siblings. Chance is also the only sibling that doesn’t like ranching and hasn’t been back home in over ten years. He is a father to a beautiful little girl, Rosie and a widow. His wife died almost two years ago.
What I like
I like that Chance took his little girl to meet both sides of the family all along knowing that he doesn’t belong on the ranch. He is also a great dad which I adored. He has a great connection to Rosie and been her sole world since his wife passed. Another thing that I like about Chance is that despite everything in him telling him to leave the ranch, he is still there trying to make it work.
What I dislike
What I dislike about Chance is that he knows how stubborn the Montgomery family could be and yet he didn’t wait to hear Katie's side of the story. The last thing that I don’t like about Chance is that he didn’t want his daughter to get attached to the ranch or her family. He never thought he would fall in love with the place that he tried so hard to leave.
Katie Montgomery
The main female character is Katie Montgomery, and she has a lot of explaining to do. Katie has been since the beginning, but we learn a lot about her in this book. All Katie has ever wanted to be is the foreman of the Blackwell Ranch and to be there for her dad. She also wanted to meet Rosie in person. The only thing stopping her from getting everything is the fact that Big E has left. Or has he really taken off?
Likes and Dislikes
What I like about Katie is that she is the one constant thing in all the books. She is the primary person running the ranch while Big E has run off to do whatever he is doing. However, Katie was the one that has kept the ranch running even with Big E was there. What I don’t like about Katie is that she didn’t tell Chance sooner about Big E's scheme.
Five Star
I am giving The Rancher’s Homecoming by Anna J. Stewart a five-star rating. She did a fabulous job of wrapping up this little series. Chance and Katie are perfect for each other and make a terrific team parenting Rosie.
Anyways until the next time enjoy this review brought to you by,

4.5 stars for this final installment in the Return of the Blackwell Brothers series! I really enjoyed the entire series. Each and every one of the five Blackwell brothers is utterly unforgettable, as are their wives/fiancees and children. The five books in the series are best read as a series. Though each book can work as a stand-alone, there are so many backstories that create the Blackwell brothers' emotional canvas that reading them in order will help the reader become fully immersed in their world and their past. This final book did a good job of tying in all the brothers' stories while solving the mystery of what happened to the brothers' grandfather.
This story focuses on Chance, the last Blackwell brother and Ty's twin, who became a widower two years past when his wife died from cancer. Now he's a single father, attempting valiantly to raise his four year old daughter while reviving his singing career. He's called back to the Blackwell Ranch by his four brothers because their grandfather has gone MIA and they need to decide what to do with the ranch's future. Katie, the younger sister of Chance's deceased wife, is stubborn, brave, hard-working, and loyal and only wants to become the foreman of the ranch so that she and her ailing father can have a home. Rosie, Chance's daughter, is a darling and brings much laughter and tenderness to the story. The story between Chance and Katie is a total heart-wringer, full of heartbreak, heartache, and betrayal. How much more pain can these Blackwell brothers take?!?! In the midst of all that pain and past darkness, there is forgiveness and hope sprinkled throughout the story.
I was given a copy of the book from the author/publisher via Prism Book Tours and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All comments and opinions are solely my own. -
First of all, the cover. When I first saw it, I knew I wanted to read this book. And then when I saw it was the final book in the Return of the Blackwell Brothers stories? It was a no-brainer. I was SO looking forward to Chance’s story and when it came with an adorably precocious little girl named Rosie, I fell in love. It is a standalone story but as it brings together all the Blackwell Brothers, their “attachments”, and wonderful characters surrounding them, I highly recommend reading the series.
I won’t give any story spoilers but let me tell you why I loved this book. Chance Blackwell, with Rosie of course, comes back to the family ranch at the [ahem] request of his brothers. Okay, it was repeated requests, and some begging, but he finally made it back. He has much to face while back in town, most of all his deceased wife’s family, the one who disowned her when she married Chance and then never answered her desperate calls when she was diagnosed with a fatal illness. His sister-in-law Katie tries to repair some bridges but boy, howdy, are the devastating feelings hard to smooth out and overcome.
Chance loved his wife Maura, had a music career that Maura encouraged, until Maura got so sick. And then when she died, he had Rosie to raise and he does love his little girl. Chance and Katie grow close while he works with his brothers to try to keep the Blackwell family ranch viable and running until they decide whether or not to sell. Chance’s and Katie’s story is truly heartwarming and wonderful, with a bit of intrigue thrown in to keep you guessing. Of course, we have an ending to the Blackwell Brothers series that makes it all worthwhile. And shushhhhhhhhhhh! Don’t tell anyone but I think Chance is my new favorite brother… -
Anna J. Stewart may have had the most difficult task in writing the final Blackwell brother’s story but she nails it as the youngest brother returns to Montana and the family ranch after a decade away.
Chance’s daughter, little Rosie, is ecstatic to be on the ranch with all the animals and loads of family surrounding her. This little darling almost steals the show.
Almost because readers of the entire series have gotten to know the tough-as-nails woman who keeps everything running. It’s fitting that she stars in the final entry since Katie Montgomery has known the Blackwell ranch as her only home. And she’s done something she’s not proud of to keep it that way.
With lots of butting-in from the other four brothers and their significant others, will Chance and Katie realize the true importance of family and home? Or will they throw away the second chance that has been handed to them?

Return of the Blackwell Brothers -
This is an interesting story and the last in the series of five written by five different authors. I will have to check the order but I don’t care. The way I add them is how I happened to read them and it didn’t affect the overall outcome at all. I only read three of the five and Wow! Is all I can say. Talented for sure. The writing was seamless. It was like this was one author writing all three.
This author, however, pulls on your heart strings for sure as well as tickling our funny bone. You find yourself rooting for one brother and then another. I’ll tell you for sure I love the women they all hook up with and are engaged to.
The story revolves around Chance and his daughter Rosie Blackwell who will win your heart. She is a force for nature but what unites a lot of the family see life through her eyes.
Chance may have been born and raised on a ranch but hated every minute. And let’s just get this straight he likes horses in general just not being on one. The horses don’t like him being on them either. Therefore, he ate a lot of dirt as a kid. Hence the nickname “Stable Boy.” He’s good with that too.
He had bigger plans to make it as a singer. He did it too with concerts, CD’s, and fans. Then his wife Maura came down with cancer and he chose to be home with her and his daughter, Rosie. Instead of on the road. His brothers offered to help but Chance still held old grudges from growing up and said, “No.”
Not to mention Maura’s own father turned his back on her during her hardest time. Her little sister Katie would facetime her, call her, and text her all the time. Which was, bittersweet, for them both. Fast forward two years and his phone, is blowing up wanting him to come home they need him. Something about a vote, the ranch, and their MIA grandfather. He wanted no part of it.
Well, the moment of avoiding was over. After his first gig after Maura passing his twin, Tyler finds him in L.A. in a dive bar. He fills him in on how important it is that he comes home so they can get controlling interest away from their granddad. Now after four days of driving with Rosie they are just outside the gates of the ranch.
They get out to stretch and he can procrastinate. When a beautiful redhead rides up. Chance is amazed that it’s Katie, Maura’s little sister, although she’s all woman now with curves in all the right places. When did she grow into a woman?
Katie’s life has not been idle since he eloped with her sister. She has had the sole responsibility of her drunkard father. Who now has a bad heart and can’t work. So, rather than tell everyone she has been doing both their jobs running her self-thin. Then when Big-E runs off letting all the staff go on the ranch she had to call Jon the eldest brother for help. Of course, he calls in reinforcements.
You really don’t want to miss reading this book at all. You will get to know each of the characters well. Although reading the series adds to the fun on how the brothers end up with such spunky women who can turn these Alpha Males into pussycats. Even better five men and so far, the ones that have children only produce girls. 😉 I give this: 5++++ stars. Provided by netgalley.com. Follow us at

The Rancher's Homecoming is the fifth and final book of the Return of the Blackwell Brothers series and Anna J. Stewart has created a wonderful story to end the series. Chance Blackwell and Katie Montgomery, two of the characters mentioned in the previous books, are finally allowed to have their own story. Ten years ago Chance left the Blackwell Family Ranch and Falcon Creek, Montana to pursue his dream of writing and singing his songs and it seemed he was living his dreams and that joy and happiness had come his way. He had a career, a beautiful wife and a precious baby girl and then, Maura died and he was left with a three year old to care for. Now, almost two years later, Chance has been called back to Falcon Creek to help decide if the ranch will stay in the family or be sold. His doubts and concern are very evident in his thoughts upon arriving home. "There was nothing for him here. Nothing except memories of a place where he never belonged and a family he'd never fit into."
Katie Montgomery, his dead wife's sister, is employed at the ranch so her future is also at stake. She is given the opportunity to bond with her young niece Rosie and she also begins to see her former brother-in-law in a new light. As the tension escalates among the Blackwell brothers and their grandfather Big E, Katie recognizes that her feelings have changed. "She loved him. Her sister's widower. The boy she had grown up with. The teenager who had broken her family apart. The man, the loving father that he had become. She loved Chance Blackwell".
This story is filled with the many dynamics that occur when so many different personalities make up a family unit. There are moments of anger, resentment, deceit and mistrust and some of the deceit threatens any hope of a relationship between Chance and Katie. The troubled times, however, are buffered with times of fun, laughter, love and forgiveness and in the epilogue readers are given the chance to know how each of the five brothers are doing. There is even a surprise that involves their grandfather Big E.
This book and the entire series is a perfect read for anyone who enjoys romance, family drama and life on a ranch.
I received a complimentary e-book of The Rancher's Homecoming from Prism Book Tours but I voluntarily chose to write this review. This is my honest opinion. -
Where has Big E been and why the heck did he take off like he did? Rest assured, if you’ve been following this series from the beginning, you will find out. You may also want to purse whomp him when you find out how much he’s been taking advantage of people and manipulating the ones he’s supposed to love – and it would be a well-deserved purse whomping.
Fortunately, we can mostly ignore him in favor of Chance and Katie – and adorable Rosie. That precocious little girl on the cover pretty much steals the show. What a cutie! Chance and Katie have a complicated history and an equally complicated present, so falling in love for these two is anything but simple. It sure is swoony though... Katie has played a pretty prominent role in all four of the previous books, and she’s been one of my favorite characters throughout. But we didn’t really get to know much about her personally – and Chance has been talked about a lot but we didn’t learn much about his story either. So it was great to have a story focused on these two enigmatic characters as a finale for the series. It really seemed to tie it all together – all the various plot threads that have been building up throughout the series.
I really can’t recommend this series enough – for fans of contemporary romance, Becky Wade, cowboys and cute kids. Despite each book being written by a different author, all five fit together so seamlessly that it feels like it was written by only one. No continuity errors, personalities stayed consistent, the Big E subplot, etc. Yet, at the same time, each author’s distinctive style was given a chance to shine.
Bottom Line: The Rancher’s Homecoming by Anna J. Stewart is the perfect send-off for this great series of brothers, family, coming home, and romance. Well-defined characters, layered emotions, wit, and charm abound in this fifth and final book, and romantic tension sparks and sizzles throughout. I’d love to someday see another collaboration of these five authors – perhaps the Blackwell brothers’ daughters all grown up?

Reading Is My SuperPower -
What a great final book in the Return of the Blackwell Brothers series! Anna J. Stewart has the job of continuing the story and finalizing this series in her book The Rancher’s Homecoming. Stewart does a fantastic job with both tasks.
Chance Blackwell considers himself the black sheep of the Blackwell family because he never enjoyed riding horses (blasphemy on a ranch!), he loves music, and he eloped with the foreman’s daughter, hoping never to return. Life is full of surprises, however, and Chance’s wife, Maura, passes away from cancer leaving him with a hole in his heart and an adorable preschooler, and without an inspiration for his songs. His grandfather, Big E, continues to manipulate behind the scenes, and Chance is forced to return to Falcon Creek to cast the deciding vote on the sale of the ranch.
The story moves quickly ahead while the reader gets glimpses into the past to see reasons for various characters’ actions. The relationship between Chance and Katie, his wife’s sister, who is also the acting foreman of the ranch, becomes complicated. The always likable sister-in-laws band together to try to make things better on several fronts. Will Big E ever explain himself? Has he changed? What influence does he have over Katie? Can the Blackwell brothers trust her? Should Chance vote to sell, hurting Ethan and Ty, or vote to retain the property, hurting Ben and Jon? Life is complicated, and so is the plot of The Rancher’s Homecoming.
This book is another in the series that lives up to its “heartwarming” moniker. Interesting characters, beautiful Montana setting, and a nice balance between introspection and action combine to make this a great read. If you haven’t read this series yet, I strongly recommend you put it on your TBR list for 2019!
I would like to extend my thanks to the author, Anna J. Stewart, for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review. -
4 1/2 STARS!
The prodigal brother returns! With the final book in the Return of the Blackwell Brothers series, we get Chance's story. It was the one I've been waiting on from the start when we learned of all that he had lost way back in book one, and it was worth the wait! Rosie is adorable, Chance is a great addition to the brotherly mix, and seeing Katie's nature come to life was great. I would have liked to have seen their relationship develop more outside of the ranch and Rosie, and I wanted more from Big E's returning story line, but overall, it was a good addition to a great series. Really enjoyed!
Chance Blackwell really had no plans to ever return home to Falcon Creek, Montana or the Blackwell Family Ranch, but pressure from his brothers finally twists his arm to make the trek back to help with some decision making. He took off a decade ago with nothing but his guitar and his girl by his side and made his dreams come true ... at least for a little while. Now he's widowed, the single dad to the little girl who gives his life meaning and on the edge of losing what career he had.
Katie Montgomery tried to pick up the pieces of her father's heart when her big sister eloped with Chance and took off to live their dreams, but she never managed to fill that spot. She's basically at her breaking point of filling in for the ranch foreman and trying to make sure no one knows how bad it really is with him. She's done things she's not proud of, but she has to protect her father's place on this ranch no matter what! -
All the Blackwell siblings need to go to the family ranch to come to an agreement of what must be done to the ranch, sell or keep it. Every one is split about the decision and must come to a vote. Meanwhile Chance has another reason he's comeback to the ranch to have his daughter see her grandpa since his health seems to be declining.
Wasn't sure what else to add to that description without spoiling the book so just gonna stop there. What I didn't realize when going into this book was that it was a part of a series, in fact this book is the last book the 5th book. But even knowing that and what the conclusion to the series will be I'm impressed enough to want to go back and fetch the previous books in the series because I enjoyed what I read and clearly curious to see the stories of the characters that popped up in this book. While reading it you can tell which ones had their own type of story and how it happened but I want to know more. I really enjoyed this book, it was enjoyable and sweet and I loved seeing everyone come together when things were looking down. Loved how supportive people people where and were ready to back each other up when time called for it. I loved how meddling people were as well kept things interesting. This book was a pretty enjoyable book and great on its own but would probably be even better knowing more about the previous characters. -
“The Rancher’s Homecoming” by Anna J. Stewart is the fifth and final book in the Return of the Blackwell Brothers continuity.
Chance Blackwell is the last to return home to Falcon Creek and he holds the deciding vote on whether or not to sell the Blackwell Family Ranch. He doesn’t come alone—he brings his failing career and precocious (and adorable) daughter, Rosie.
Katie Montgomery has been managing the Blackwell’s ranch while her father’s been ill. She also carries a secret that deals with the brothers’ grandfather, Big E, and she could end up losing her place on the ranch, the only home she’s ever known.
Chance is filled with memories when he sets foot on family land, not all bad as he expects. He has Katie, who shares memories of growing up together and of Maura, Chance’s deceased wife and Katie’s sister.
Chance and Katie together is sweet and heartwarming. They fully come to terms with losing Maura while falling in love with each other.
The Blackwell family bond grows stronger between the brothers as Jon, Ethan, Ben, and Ty, along with their women, all make appearances, making this story also about the love and strength of family.
“The Rancher’s Homecoming” brings all the feels. You’ll cry, you’ll laugh, but in the end your heart will sigh. -
This story followed Chance, the youngest and last of the Blackwell brothers. What a great story to end an amazing series!
I loved reading Chance and Katie’s story and their happy ever after. I also loved reading about the other Blackwell brothers and their significant others as their stories continued. I still did not care for Ben, one of the other brothers, as previously mentioned in another review. I wish they had made him into a better character than he was portrayed.
The brothers finally reach a decision about whether to sell or keep the ranch and as readers we finally get to see what happens to Big E (grandfather to the boys) and why he disappeared.
I think the authors did a wonderful job with putting this series together and I would highly recommend reading them all in order to get the most out of the characters. I wound love to read a novella (quick story) to follow up with the characters read about their upcoming weddings and future plans.
This series was fun to read, had great characters, beautiful ranch setting in Montana, and included clean romance and drama. Highly recommend!
I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own. -
The perfect ending to a fantastic series! I was very excited to not only read Chance’s story...because I feel like he was the least talked-about and most mysterious brother. But to have Katie as our female lead just brought the series full circle. Also, Jon’s book started us off with his precocious twins and Chance comes home with the equally adorable Rosie! You can tell from the gorgeous cover what a little spitfire she is!
Without getting into spoiler territory, I’m also thrilled that Anna J Stewart wrote the anchor leg because of her familiarity and talent in the genre of romantic suspense. While the mystery of where Big E is and what the heck he’s doing has run throughout the other four books, this is where his plans all come to fruition. Stewart never let it overwhelm Chance and Katie’s story, but let it enhance it and tie up all the lose ends for the Blackwell Brothers.
This will be a book, and a series, I’ll enjoy reading again. Each and every author gave their book its own flair, but also wove it seamlessly with the previous one. I’m hoping we’ll see another series by this collection of talented authors very soon! -
The Rancher’s Homecoming is the fifth and final book in Return of the Blackwell Brothers series, and I am so sad to see it end. However, the series ended with the perfect story. The author stated she knows nothing about ranching, but you would never have guessed as the writing and story fit the ranching theme seamlessly. There are so many adorable scenes in this book. Scenes that make you laugh, many that pull on your heartstrings, and more than a few that want to bring a tear to your eye. When the motor home arrives in the driveway, I had shivers along my arm. Return of the Blackwell Brothers is now one of my favourite series, and written by five different authors makes it even more compelling as they flow so well together. All are easily stand alone titles, but I recommend reading them in order to get to know the characters and the town as you’ll get wrapped up in their lives and the setting. I didn’t want this series to end, but the author wrapped it up nicely with Big E’s return and the brothers finding their happy-ever-afters at home, on the Blackwell Ranch. A must read! Reviewed for Still Moments Magazine.

I had always hoped Katie would get a book but we were obviously running out of brothers so I was happy we finally get to meet Chance as well as get to know Katie more. This really is a bitter sweet book as there is a lot of pain for both Chance and Katie both having lost Maura and neither have dealt with her passing and its even harder for Katie as she hasn't never met Rosie, Chance and Maura's ridiculously cute wee girl. We see Chance being torn between not wanting to be at the ranch, seeing how much Rosie loves it as well as his family having come together after so long apart and how his feelings for Katie have changed and not knowing what to do. There are so many emotions you go through in this book not just about Chance and Katie, but also the rest of the family and the fact that it is the last book in the series doesn't help. lol
This was an amazing series and the fact that a different Author wrote each book but kept all the characters true to the original way was just fantastic and I now have some new Authors to look up and find more books to read. -
This is the final book to the Blackwell brothers series and it was well done. It is a story of second chance for Chance Blackwell. But for Katie Montgomery its a chance for love and for both of them its a chance to say good bye to someone they both loved deeply. One wasabi in sister the other is a wife. I've always enjoyed Anna's stories for she weaves them so well. She did a excellent job of tying the whole series together. You will find yourself laughing and crying in this story for there is a good bye to a loved one in this story. Its a story of coming full circle for 5 brothers and a realization of were home is. Of who they love and the depth of their love. There is also a letting a go of old hurts in this story. Because of the way everything is tied up you find yourself turning the page to see what is happening next til the final page. Its a great book I received it in the mail today and could not put it down. Its a book filled with joy, love and laughter. Anna did a great job finishing this series. I will miss the brothers but I will be back for a reread at some point.

We have reached the end of this wonderful series, To get the best enjoyment from this season. I highly recommend reading the books in order.
The final brother to come home is Chance. Its been a decade since he was last home, since then a lot has changed for him. His wife has died leaving him with his little girl. His music career isn't going so well. Called back home to decide on the future of the ranch with his brothers. Its time to come face to face with his past choices.
Katie is so busy trying to run the Blackwell ranch, while keeping her fathers problems to herself. She is so pleased to spend time with Rosie. As she spends time with Chase and the rest of the Blackwell's. The guilt at her part in Big E's deception grows.Poor Katie has so much on her plate. We finally see Big E return home, pleased that he succeeded in bringing his grandsons home.
Anna J Stewart did a wonderful job in bringing this series to an end. I was hoping Katie would find her happy ending and glad it was with Chase. Highly recommended for fans of romance. -
4 Stars
I've enjoyed this entire series and it was nice to finally see where all of the the books were finally leading. Chance was definitely a favorite hero. His backstory was especially heartbreaking. I also appreciated how Big E's story-line wrapped up. It felt true to what had been revealed of his character throughout all of the books. My only struggle with this story was the central romance. After reading the first four books where Katie was a prominent secondary character, I hadn't been particularly fond of her. While there is nothing innately wrong with Katie, I just didn't care for her pushy and tomboyish characteristics in the previous books. There was also so much story to wrap up in this book and not enough time was spent building up the romance between Chance and Katie. At least on the page. As a reader, I knew that they lived in the ranch house together for a few weeks, but there wasn't enough discourse between the two on the actual page. While the romance left me wanting, overall I liked the wrap up of the overarching story line and the series as a whole. -
I feel 'The Return of the Blackwell Brothers' Series are an outstanding series by very talented writers!
The Rancher's Homecoming is the culminating story of the series.
The author has done an incredible job in "bringing back" the last brother to decide on the final outcome of Blackwell Ranch, in the absence of their missing granddaddy.
Although it is quite predictable, the author is able to connect with the reader in a way, causing emotions to surface and enabling the reader to feel he/she is a part of the scenes.
Chance has lost the love of his life, his wife, and the success of his music career is waning. His twin brother, plus his agent, are able to persuade him to briefly return home...a thing he swore he would never do. He will do what he has to do and get back out of the country!
This is an entertaining final accounting of a brother. with an unexpected ending.
I am determined to go back to the original Blackwell brother series, to get the full experience of the Blackwell sagas!

Loved this book. Ms. Stewart made me laugh, she made me cry. This book is heartwarming, and so heartbreaking. It’s about love, family, loss, and so much more. I have read it again. Chance Blackwell is summoned back to Falcon Creek, Wyoming, to sell The Blackwell Ranch. He’s got the final say. Ethan and Ty don’t want to sell, and Jon along with Ben don’t have a problem selling. They have there own ranch to worry about. Chance never though he’d come back here. He’s got his daughter Rosie with him, and she means everything to him. She is the only thing that matters. But it’s Katie Montgomery who’s been at the Blackwell Ranch who’s been running it basically since his grandfather Big E decided to up, and leave with his fifth wife Zoe. So know one knows where they are. Until Zoe ends up back without Big E. Oh boy are they surprised. Chance knows his agent wants new music, but it’s just too hard after his wife’s passing.
So much more to comes. Must read! -
First, let me say that I don't like western or romance-based books. Now that that's out of the way, I will tell you that I started reading this western romance on my Kindle shortly after waking up and didn't get out of bed until I was finished! Yes, I couldn't put it down! I've always loved Anna Stewart's writing, but the characters were so great in this story, especially Rosie, the 4 3/4-year-old. I do love books that feature children, but, all too often, I feel like the author must not have had much contact with the littles, as the language and circumstances were nothing like I experienced with my 5 children and 27 grandchildren. This wasn't the case with Rosie; in fact, I could just picture her saying the cute things, like cone cushion (concussion). I wish she weren't fictional; I'd love to meet her and maybe be her "grandma for a day". Good job, Anna!
