Awakening Aubrey (Special Forces: Operation Alpha) Reviews
-
Awakening Aubrey is by Shauna Allen. It is the first book in the Special Forces Operation Alpha series. This book is quick and easy to read and since it is predicable, you don’t have to worry about it ending badly. The predictability is the good thing about these books. The way they go about getting to the ending is the exciting part.
Jude Cortez is proud to be a soldier, even an MP, and he has put in for acceptance to become a Ranger. He certainly hopes this will come true for him. From the age of 10, he has been on the straight and narrow path and stayed out of trouble so he could be accepted to this program. His neighbor had offered to intervene on his behalf; but Jude refused any preferential treatment. He really wasn’t sure what his neighbor did; but he knew it was top secret. His neighbor, Fletch, asked him if he could use his garage to start rebuilding his 68 Charger. Since Jude was interested in rebuilding cars, he had purchased this house because of the garage set up. It had a lift and everything needed for cars. He offered to help Fletch as well. Fletch thought and called in some help from his friends who owned a garage in another city. They came down to help.
When the guys came down to help, they brought an apprentice with them. An unlikely apprentice- a girl. Aubrey Clemson was an unusual girl. She loved to tinker with cars and her dream was to own her own shop one day. Meanwhile, she worked with her brother-in-law in his shop.
Jude was immediately attracted to Aubrey but knew he had to restrain himself. Her Brother-in-law was here as well as other men who knew her and protected her. Besides, he would have behaved anyway because that was the way his Mother had taught him. He could appreciate her though. For as long as she is here, that is.
Can dreams come true? However, the road to true love definitely doesn’t run smoothly. -
I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
This book was great! Shauna Allen takes some of her characters from the Jack 'Em Up series and merges them beautifully with characters from Susan Stokers' Special Forces. Aubrey is a beautiful, spirited tomboy with a gift for fixing cars. Jude is amazing. He's an honorable military man with a life motto of No regrets. He follows his instincts and goes after what he wants with everything he's got. The two of them together explode with life. And when Jude speaks Spanish to Aubrey? Wow! It's enough to make any sensible girl swoon. Like the other books in the Jack 'Em Up series, there is a lot of laughter, but there are also some really deep moments that make you want to hold your loved ones a little closer and never, ever take life for granted. -
Aubrey is a fiery red head who works on cars with her fellow mechanics from Jake 'Em Up garage. She's just one of the boys, or is she. She goes with her team to work on a restoration project off site for Fletch. Fletch has been in several of the Susan Stoker Special Forces collections. You'll fall in love and want to read the other books he's in.
When they pull up in from of Jude's home, Aubrey falls head over heels. She's young and he's trying to become a Ranger in the Army. They have a few miss communications along the way. When Aubrey becomes part of a bad situation, Jude goes out of his mind. He knows what he has to do.
Aubrey won't allow him to give up on his dream. Will he anyway to stay with her? Read and find out. -
I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
This is a blending of Shauna Allen's Jack Em' Up crew and Susan Stokers Special Forces series. Aubrey Clemson a young inexperienced woman, but an incredible mechanic, is brought along with the Jack Em Up crew for a special project that happens to be at Jude Cortez's home. Even though neither of them was looking for true love, that's exactly what they found. This is an incredible novella, that reads like a full novel. I couldn't put it down! I'm definitely going to have to check out Susan Stokers series now! -
Outstanding
I loved this story, Susan Stokers Kindle world has introduced me to many new authors that I like. This is Jude(army MP) friends with rangers from Susan's books. Jude meets Aubrey thru these guys who come help his friend fix up his own classic car. Lots of excitement, couple surprises, romance with a great ending. -
Loved it
Young love, suspenseful, and a car being worked on. Great read can't go wrong with reading this one in kindle world -
Loved this book. Read quite a few of her books now and all of them are great. A brilliant storyline bringing in characters from other series. A must read.

This is a great cross over between Susan Stoker’s series and Shauna Allen’s own Jack ‘em Up series. Jude and Aubrey are so sweet and wonderful together, a true first love story. Ms. Allen also integrates Fletch and his guys and Jesse and his crew splendidly in this read. It is entertaining to see them all interact working to restore Fletch’s ’68 Charger as well as working together as a team to assist in a hostile situation that could prove fatal for someone close to them all. While working on the restoration Jude and Aubrey meet and form an instant connection neither is expecting. Each is working towards fulfilling their own dreams and a relationship was not in the plans. However, it is strong and electrifying and neither wants to let it go but they are both concerned about it lasting. An intense situation puts things in perspective for them both and opens their eyes to the possibility of their happily ever after. All the characters in this short read are amazing as well as the story in itself. There is plenty of action, suspense, danger, fun, family and romance flowing through the pages that will pull you in and hold your interest until the end.
-
A short read that is full of angst and romance. I know Aubrey from one of Shauna Allen's other series and couldn't wait to see her find her love. Since it is a short novella Aubrey and Jude's love is fast and furious. I won't give too much away except to say this was full of romance, sexiness, a lot of hot alpha males, and at the end some angst thrown in.

2 people from different cultures meet and fall in love She's a 19 yr old civilian and he's 24 yr old army MP. Her and her male family members come down to look at his neighbors charger to restore it, the neighbor is Fletcher. Towards the end of the book is when the action takes place, otherwise pretty slow.

Good read
Jude took one look at Aubrey and knew she was the one. Aubrey thought Jude was cute and sexy. After only a couple dates they were really into each other. Then Aubrey asked into a hostage situation and Jude was afraid he had lost her. Jude had been accepted into ranger school and Aubrey wanted to finish her schooling. -
Sweet Romance
My first book by Shauna Allen and I’ve already downloaded the next in the series. Awakening Aubrey is a sweet, first-love romance with a HEA. Very well-written and so nice to revisit with characters from other Operation Alpha and Susan Stoker books. A quick, delightful read! -
Romance and Action
Expertly written with old and new characters. Very little sexual content. More romance than sex and some action during a hostage situation to liven things up. I really enjoyed this on. -
Good story!
I don't know how I managed to miss reading Awakening Aubrey on my first read of this series by Shauna Allen, I'm so glad I decided to do a re read! This is a really good book, good storyline and plenty of action. -
Enjoyable!! This story is a fast-paced, sexy and compassionate. Jude and Aubrey are perfect for each other.

Sweet
Loved this one. Jude was so sweet. All my Deltas and a new series to look up. Jack me up, baby. -
This was a fun short book that had us revisiting Fletch and Emily. I really enjoyed it even though it was fast paced it still meshed well together.
-
Mainly a romance
This book is almost entirely a romance just a touch of excitement. The characters are enjoyable but I prefer more suspense and action. -
A fun love story
Aubrey is a fiesty little red head and when she meets Jude the chemistry is through the roof! An enjoyable read with some exciting twists to keep it interesting -
This was so good I wished it was longer! The romance and plot pacing was just right for a novella. This is my first book by this author but it probably won't be my last!
-
Military Romance
I read Shauna’s Jack Em Up series and throughly enjoyed reading Jude and Aubrey. I look forward to reading the other Special Forces books. -

This is on the 13/04/21 read...
Nice enough, but still felt a little... shallow? Also... the timeline of the previous books are a little confusing... Aubrey was 15 when she met Rachel... now she's nearly 20... but Rachel & Jesse's kid is still a baby... tres confusing.
Did like the SS team involvement... that felt perfectly right.
