Since nothing stays the same forever, the cul-de-sac changed over the years. From sad goodbyes when neighbors moved on, to welcoming new owners moving in, Phillip and Jayne have enjoyed hosting lavish poolside parties at their abode. They have a great relationship, and are the envy of all their friends. But is the marriage all it seems?
With the Miller’s twin girls married and moved away from Sunview, Phillip and Jayne decide it’s time to focus on resuscitating their relationship, complete with spicing up their neglected sex life. When competition between the two sets in, it becomes a full out game to see who can one-up the other trying new things.
Ah, yes. Life on Juniper Court gets interesting… and sometimes embarrassing. Be careful what you wish for and where you stick your nose. Sometimes keeping up with the Joneses—or in this case, the Sullivans—can have consequences.

RELATIONSHIP RESUSCITATION (The Juniper Court #5) by Jennifer Theriot is a contemporary romance novella. It is a short, easy read with heart. This story is part of the Juniper Court series revolving around neighbors on a cul-de-sac and is easily read as a standalone.
The first couple to live and build on Juniper Court, they are now empty-nesters with their twins gone. Phillip is a successful lawyer and Jayne has a highly popular blog called “Mother to Mother”. Their love and marriage has always been strong, but now Jayne feels it is time to pay more attention to their sexual relationship.
Jayne believes a little competition in the romance department can help spice up their sex lives. Phillip is willing and ready to play. Sometimes though things don’t always go as planned.
This romance is endearing and not the usual story you get to read and enjoy. The H/h are mature and the author writes about real-life situations. Humorous competition, little intimate moments and a sex life that they both enjoy makes this couple so engaging. No sudden change in character to BDSM. This is a sweet, but intimate look at a mature romance that just needs a little resuscitation.
I really enjoyed this novella and definitely recommend it!

*Book source ~ ARC. My review is voluntary and honest.
Phillip and Jayne Miller were the first to buy a house on Juniper Court. Over the years they’ve seen people and families come and go, but they’ve been the rock of the neighborhood. Now that their twins are grown and off to college and they’re approaching the ripe ol’ age of 50 they decide, as loving as their relationship has always been, the sex has been a bit lackluster lately and they need to give it a kick (or maybe a spank?) in the behind. So a relationship resuscitation competition begins between husband and wife. Who will win this steamy revival of their sex life? And does it really matter as long as they’re having hot sexy fun?
I’ll be honest, I don’t really read Contemporary anymore. I used to read it A LOT. But ever since I discovered PNR that genre has sorta dropped by the wayside. However, every once in a while a Contemporary will catch my eye. This one sounded interesting, mostly because my 50th birthday is next month. Next. Month. Gah! *deep breath* Ok, I’m good now. Anyway, I was not disappointed. The story flows smoothly and has larger than life characters you can really see and hear. Maybe smell. Possibly taste. There’s humor and wacky neighbors and a loving long term relationship with all the baggage that comes with it. It’s realistic. And yet it’s not a downer. Hard for any author to pull off, but Jennifer Theriot does it beautifully. Flashbacks mix well with the present to give a deeper look into Phillip and Jayne’s relationship and how they got to where they currently are. There’s sexiness, loving, caring, steaminess and, most of all, humor. The neighbors of Juniper Court make an appearance and they each have their own book in this series. I’m thinking of making an exception to my No More Contemporaries Rule and pick up their books, too. I also have to add, what an awesome idea to get together a bunch of authors to write about each house in a cul-de-sac. Bravo! -
Juniper Court is like any cul-de-sac: A mix of families thrown together by location. But each of those houses has a story, and this book is the story of one of those families, Phillip and Jayne Miller. After years of marriage and raising a family, Jayne feels their relationship (sex life) needs a little resuscitation (appropriately titled). Jayne's plan to do that creates some hilarious moments, and makes for a great story.
One of my favorite things about this book is the way we go back to when the Millers first met and watched their relationship develop into what it is today. I love that the somewhat nerdy Phillip of twenty-some years ago is now a sexy empty-nester. I do enjoy this author's books because they aren't typical romances-the characters have real stories, real issues, real lives-and they are sweet, sexy, and funny. This one didn't disappoint. -
Another great Juniper Court book! I love how these are all written by different authors, in different styles, with different perspectives, but all on the same block.
Relationship Resuscitation is so relatable. Our kids are still at home, but I totally know all about just planning all your intimate times to stolen moments when the kids aren’t around, or getting too comfortable. I love that their relationship is still strong and everything is great, just their between the sheets life needed bringing back to life.
Phillip and Jayne are really the first couple on the block, they built their home there before anyone else. The way their life was described, and how things sometimes didn’t go as planned, sometimes in very funny ways, was realistic to me. They were real people in a real relationship. Phillip is such a romantic, considerate man and there were many little things he said or did that I loved. This whole series has been a fantastic reading experience for me and such a cool idea. -
Seven houses, seven couples, seven tales, the Juniper Court Series is destined to give readers variety. The fifth book to release, Relationship Resuscitation, regales the tale of one of the founding homes for the street. Empty nesters, the Millers, Phillip and Jayne have witnessed the history of their cul-de-sac from the first shingle to the last brick. As one of the most mature members of the street, Jayne and Phillip have welcomed new families with an open door and many parties to pass the time. But what do empty nesters do when the dust settles and your children have moved along with their own lives? Jayne takes a serious look at their relationship and devises a plan.
What begins as a portrayal of a modern day Ozzie and Harriet, Jennifer Theriot takes the ordinary and gives it a twist that evolves into Lucy and Dezi meets Modern Family. The flow is well paced and is a step away from Theriot’s first person narrative in her other series, with great effect. The antics scattered throughout reflects a couple’s ability to change their norm and improve their relationship. This sweet tale is a quick read perfect for the poolside or a travel companion at busy airports. -
Relationship Resuscitation by Jennifer Theriot is a great read. Jayne and Phillip Miller were the first homeowners at Juniper Court. They are both approaching fifty years old and are looking to rekindle their sex life. It becomes a game for the both of them. I loved reading this book and cant wait to read more by Jennifer Theriot.
-
Jayne and Phillip fall into a rut that many couples fall into after being married for so long. Sometimes you do need to “turn the ordinary into the extraordinary”.
One thing I really love about this author is her ability to take a situation that many of us older couple’s have and then remind us how to see past work and kids and responsibilies of being an adult and just be a couple again.
Every relationship could use a spark once in a while to keep it alive. -
Relationship Resuscitation breathes life into a genre needing some saving. Wonderful heartwarming story!
-
I loved this book! Such a great story with genuine characters all linked together because they are neighbors on a culdesac. This story is about the Millers and the pair deciding to revive the romance of their marriage. Now empty-nesters, they aren't sure how to break out of the rut parenting and careers placed them in. The story is funny and sweet and so real you will think it could be your friends or neighbors.
*I received an ARC for an honest review* -
A must have for the empty nesters. I laughed out loud reading this book. So many things I could relate to. Enjoyed it from beginning to the end.
-
I read this in one go. I flat out couldn’t stop laughing....umm....I mean reading it. The story flows smoothly with the main characters being so well developed that’s it’s been my great pleasure to meet Phillip and Jayne Miller, the first family of Juniper Court. They’ve been married for 27 years and Phillip is about to turn 50 (epic party to come).....but first the story of “them “... you know, how they met, fell in love, married, and raised twin daughters should not to be overlooked because... well ya just can’t know a person until ya know that person. Right? Okay, so Jayne is friends with the four other ladies who now live in the court. They get together every ( hump day) for coffee so as to stay up to date on gossip and such. We get glimpses of them, but we hear more from Nina (do we ever) when Jayne confides that although her love for Phillip is stronger than ever, she feels that their sex life needs that spark again. Jayne comes up with an ingenious idea. Unfortunately, she doesn’t quite think it through. (I laughed all the way through chapter 8)
Phillip’s idea stole my heart. He’s such a sexy silver fox. And I do believe that all is well in Jayne’s world.
Just a teeny FYI... Keep an eye out for Valley... two words. No. Liquor. Bwahahaha.
I seriously recommend this to 18+ only due to erotic content. -
My Thoughts on Relationship Resuscitation
What I liked: The overall story and what it was about. The main characters. It was an enjoyable story I was happy to listen to. I feel like the plot was a good one, especially for those couples who have been together for many years and/or are of a more advanced again. Even in my 30's I found it relatable.
What I liked not as much: Some of the dialog was a little much for me. I don't really know any 50 year olds who say wifey or other terms like that in their day to day life. I would hear things like that and it would just pull me out of the story just a little bit because it came across a bit like trying too hard.
The narration: I feel like the narrator was really well suited for this story. She didn't sound overly young and other than some of the things the writing required her to say, I felt she was believable as a woman in her mid to late 40's. She certainly wasn't boring to listen to which I really appreciated. She didn't have a great male character voice, but it wasn't bad either. -
“What if we could turn the ordinary into ecstasy?”
“Resuscitate those relationships and treasure every moment you have with your special someone.”
Phillip and Jayne Miller have been in the Juniper Court cul-de-sac since it first was created. They were the first couple to build a home and have the biggest lot. Phillip is a high powered corporate attorney and Jayne is a blog writer and journalist, and mom. They have been married for twenty-seven years, raised twin girls, and now have an empty nest. Life seems to be going pretty well, except the couple has forgotten how to live just the two of them. They have lost that spark in the bedroom and they are really wanting to fix the situation. This leads them to “Operations Relationship Resuscitation”.
“Don’t get me wrong, I have a wonderful marriage. Phillip is a good guy and always attentive to my needs, but something has been lacking, or shall we say, gone by the wayside."
“For most, the love is still there, but the romance has turned lukewarm, which is where Phillip and I have landed. At almost fifty years old, Phillip and I have been married for twenty-seven years. Now that our girls are grown and gone, we’ve segued into “renovation mode”.”
“Let’s not let the romance stop babe. I think we’ve got a good thing going here. His words made me question if we’d really gotten so far off the romance ride. I’d never had a reason to think Phillip would ever cheat on me and was pretty sure he felt the same in regards to me. Intimacy is suck an important part of a relationship, and while I wasn’t sure if it was from my blogging, or just my subconscious nagging at me, I felt we’d drifted apart.”
Will they ultimately find out just how much the spark never really left? Or is it too late to save their relationship for good?
Jennifer Theriot truly made these characters shine. I loved the way the story flowed and gave us all the makings of a great romance novel, with splashes of hot, hot, hot, steamy scenes. There was never a moment I was bored with the book, in fact I want more of these two. I loved how relatable these characters are. Weather you are an empty nester that has been married a long time and can relate to needing to finding that spark again, or you are a young married couple with kids and life getting in the way, this story is extremely relatable to both platforms.
Relationship Resuscitation is another fabulous novella in The Juniper Court series. For those new to the series it is made up of 7 books and 7 fantastic women authors that all take place on the little cul-de-sac Juniper Court. Each house has a secret behind the doors, and they all overlap at some point in each book. I could not recommend this series quite enough. Every single book I have read has been captivating, falling among the ranks of best series I have read all year. I am saddened already that I only have one more book to read in the series. I know that this is one I will find time to reread over and over in the future.
“After Isabelle (Peterson) assembled the Juniper Court team, the seven authors came together, each in charge of her own home on the quiet suburban cul-de-sac where everyone seems to have secrets… Readers will find interaction from a different perspective. The authors are confident readers will grow to love all the neighbors of Juniper Court, just as the authors have throughout the past several months. From sweet to swingers… From LGBT to BDSM… It’s happening behind the doors of Juniper Court.” -
Relationship Resuscitation (The Juniper Court Series) by Jennifer Theriot is one of the books in The Juniper Court series. This is an awesome series that is written by seven different authors. I love this series because each one of the books are tied together with the other. The characters from each book show up somewhere in each book. This is my first book by this author, I will be looking for more from her. Her writing style is free flowing, engaging and I loved how she was able to pull me into her story from the very beginning. Her attention to details made me feel as if I was right there with the characters. The characters are both lovable and connectable. They are true to life and will take you on a journey of finding themselves again. In this book we get to see Jayne and Phillip's story. They have twin girls that have grown and now moved out of the house. Jayne sees this as a time where they can get the romance back into their sex life. They both agree to a competition to see who can up the other with trying new things. Who will win? Will they find themselves in the process? I loved both of these characters. They are older characters that really just needed to spice up their sex life. I loved how we get to see their story from beginning to present. You will just have to read this book to find out what happens with them. The secondary characters are characters from previous books and they are connectable and lovable as well. They are supportive and will make you laugh at times. I highly recommend this book. I know you will want to see how hot Phillip and Jayne can get!

Relationship Resuscitation by Jennifer Theriot is a Juniper Court Novel. This story is part of a series of standalones that are all set in the same street. There are seven stories from seven superb authors. Each book is individual, unique and very entertaining. The books may vary in style, content and storyline, but they all have the same inspiration- Juniper Court, and the people who reside there.
This book is a wonderful addition to the series, where the author took real life situations and gave us a story we could immerse ourselves into. There were some funny scenes, romance, realistic and relatable moments, that were blended into a smooth, quick, fun read.
Ms. Theriot is a new-to-me author and I have really loved getting to know her style over the course of this story. That’s what I particularly like about collaborations- when a group of authors come together to produce a series of books that are not only great reading, but also where I get to enjoy new stories from some authors that I already love, as well as discover authors whose work/s I hadn’t read before, and finding some gems in the process.
Phillip and Jayne are the original couple on Juniper Court. They have been married for many years and have been through all the ups and downs that come with a long-term relationship. They have built a great life for themselves, but their sex life has kind of fizzled over the years. We follow along as they explore ways to resuscitate their relationship, adding some competition, zest and spark back into their lives- sometimes with unexpected and funny results.
A great read, and I look forward to exploring more of Ms. Theriot’s work!
Thank you, Ms. Theriot! -

I absolutely loved this addition to the Juniper Court Series, I had thought that Power Play would be my favorite in the end, but I'm thinking this one will run right along side it. Each one took a different approach to the empty nest syndrome and while I love them both this one seemed a bit more realistic for me personally. Power Play takes an approach that is like a fantasy for me and although I absolutely love it, my husband and I being empty nesters I can completely see this story being something we would do. I loved the sweetness in this relationship between Phillip and Jayne and the competition aspect made me lol, especially her first go at the competition...That was hilarious!!
I fall more in love with this series with every book I read, and seeing the different sides to some of the same scenes in each book is great...Something else I love about this series is that I'm getting a chance to read new authors..This is my first read by Jennifer Theriot and I love her writing style and the way the story moves so smoothly. I will definitely be looking at what else she has available and look forward to reading more from her!
I can't wait for the next one in this series, I'm trying to figure out where my house would fit on Juniper Court LOL I love them all and just know I will reread all of these in the future :) -
Relationship Resuscitation by Jennifer Theriot is the next book in this unique series Juniper Court Series. This series is seven books, written by seven different authors relating to one cul-de-sac Juniper Court.
This story is regarding Jayne and Philip Miller and how a relationship can become stagnant when it comes to the time of life when the children have left the nest and the house is just the two of you again. The story starts of with how these two lovely characters met and the passion they had for each other, but with twin girls later and the day to day life of work and life their relationship became more about the children than each other.
While Jayne was a successful journalist who writes a blog under a different name bringing women's day to day problems to light and Philip successful with the law firm their life was great but their sex life was non existence or predictable until one day Jayne suggests they spice up the their sex life by operation "Relationship Resuscitation".
This story was brilliant I love this series and the way the stories intertwine with each other although they are written by different authors. This story was a great look into the world of the middle aged couple who's children have left the family and the parents have no real things in common anymore. Jennifer Theriot writes this story beautifully and I felt that Jayne could be a great friend and it always feels like you are a voyeur in the world of Jayne and Philip Miller.
I will be sad when this series is over but am glad that Jennifer will be writing a full length story with these two great characters in and I can't wait to read it. Although this is part of a series each book can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the whole series it is brilliant. -
Well, Book 5 of the sensational multi-author series, Juniper Court, is done and dusted! I was so excited to read the story of Phillip and Jayne Miller, the original Juniper Court residents, and I was not disappointed!
I first met Phillip and Jayne in Project Paradise, Book 1 of the series, and have been looking forward to reading their story ever since.
The Millers have been married for 27 years, which in today’s society is a rarity. Approaching their fifties, having raised their children, and now empty-nesters, realize that the little something-something that they had in their early years has gone by the wayside.
Determined to find their passion, Jayne throws down a challenge to bring their spark back, and they both go to work, determined to be the winner.
Jennifer Theriot’s character development is fantastic! She brings the Millers to life and I found myself laughing along with them, wishing they were my neighbors! As with all of the books, I so enjoyed the cameo appearances of all of the other neighbors. The friendship that Jayne and Nina share is amazing! I could see myself and my bestie in their relationship.
This was a light and easy read, with yummy romance and sex! I am looking forward to reading more of Jennifer’s books! This is definitely a must-read! -
Relationship resuscitation by Jennifer Theriot is a novel in the Juniper Court Series. Juniper Court is a cul-de-sac containing 7 houses. Each house has its own book all written by a different author. Although each book has a different author the stories are all running concurrently and all residents appear in all of the stories.
This is the 5th book that I have read in the series so far and I’ve loved them all. Juniper Court has everything going on – BDSM, swingers, gay couple. You name it, this street has it!
Phillip and Jayne Miller were the first couple to move into Juniper Court when it was built and are the only remaining original resident left. Now approaching their 50’s they are looking to gain back the wild passionate relationship that they had before their twin daughter were born.
In an attempt to bring back the passion to their marriage the couple challenge each other to see who can bring the spark back the most. Both are determined to be the winner. The resulting competition brings much humour and lots of sex to the book. One thing I’ve loved about the Juniper Court books is that all have had me laughing at the antics of the residents. -
4.5 stars! They have been married for over 25 years. He is turning 50, and she is 49. They are empty nesters who need their relationship resuscitated. There are laugh out loud moments in the story, especially the prize that her husband brags about winning. And there is the mishap at the hotel, which could have turned out to big problem. That felt like some of the realistic elements in the story which made the couple endearing to me.
They were not perfect. But their love story was touching, yet typical as they drew apart over the years. I liked that she did not have a regular job, but had morphed her job from writing a column to blogging. She was not the wild one in the neighborhood, that was Valley. She was not as adventurous as Nina. She did seem to be a lot like any number of wives in long term marriages where the sex has dwindled. It felt relatable, yet not dull.
They were the first home buyers in Juniper Court. They watched people move in and move out. They saw newlyweds move in, and divorced couples move out. This is the story of regular people who find their way back to the romance, hot sex, and love they still have for each other after all those years. I would love to read a longer version of this and see where this author can take this. I enjoyed her Out of the Box series a lot too. -
Relationship Resuscitation ( The Juniper Court Series)
By Jennifer Theriot
5/5 Stars
Relationship Resuscitation is part of The Juniper Court Series by Jennifer Theriot. It’s a great story from beginning to end, I couldn’t put it down! It’s a romance story, with drama entwined.
It’s a coming of age, love story about Philip and Jayne Miller. They are the first couple to buy a house on Juniper Court. They have seen many couples come and go, for various reasons. They have been married for quite a while and both are approaching fifty . Jayne wants to spice up their relationship. They’re empty nesters and want to try something new.
I love , love! Even after all this time… you can still see how much Philip and Jayne still love each other! And not just that, they are both head over heels madly, deeply in love with one another. But sometimes, Love needs to be resuscitated a bit!
Great little story! Fast paced, full of drama and love! You’ll enjoy it, trust me! Wonderful job, Jennifer! -
“I loved how our relationship was developing from a friendship first.”
Almost 50 year olds, Phillip and Jayne Miller have been married for 27 years. Jayne is the best friend of Nina from Power Play, another story from the Juniper Court Series. Phillip and Jayne have grown children and a long relationship that needs spicing up, just like Nina and Sully. However, Phillip and Jayne take a different route to spice things up and hope that their relationship can survive.
This story is all kinds of sweet. From when these two first met until the very end. Everything they do for each other is sweet and romantic. As much as I love the hard core romance, I love the sweet warm fuzzy ones as well.
“Beginning with our first anniversary, we’d started a tradition where we’d each share something about the other one that we were thankful for. The rules were that it didn’t have to be long, just a word or two.”
Theriot also incorporated a few of the other families from Juniper Court, so make sure you read the rest of this series. Now I have to go see what else Jennifer Theriot writes! -
4 Stars!
Relationship Resuscitation by Jennifer Theriot is part of the Juniper Court series. They are sort of the original couple of Juniper Court. I loved that this book was about rekindling a relationship after 25 plus years together.
It was great finally getting to read about Jayne and Phillip. I remember reading about Jayne from previous books. It’s also great getting to see the other characters too. This whole series is great. Each book has their own storyline so it can be read alone but it’s great getting to know each and every person on the Juniper Court block.
Jayne and Phillip tries to rekindle their relationship. It was great getting to see how their relationship developed and how their relationship is today. Phillip is such a romantic and Jayne is so giving. It’s great seeing their love for each other come out in this story!
This was a quick read too and definitely enjoyed reading this book. -
Relationship Resuscitation: The Juniper Court Series
By Jennifer Theriot

This is the third or fourth book that I have read from this series before and I cannot believe how much I am loving it. I have never read anything by this author before and I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Sometimes I love reading books where the characters are a little older and I loved Jayne and Phillip. Still so in love after so many years. I loved all the things that they did to try and spice up their relationship. I did have a laugh at some of the things they did. Throughout everything I really could feel the love that they had between each other. I loved that the characters from the other stories popped up in this one too – it is really tying this series together nicely how the authors have done this.
A really great story that is well written. I will definitely be looking forward to reading more from this author in the future. -
Relationship Resuscitation is Jennifer Theriot’s interpretation of life on Juniper Court, the story of Phillip and Jayne Miller. Jayne and Phillip were the first couple to inhabit Juniper Court and I loved seeing things from their perspective. I enjoyed how the story really showcases their relationship not just presently but through the years, even though the story was relatively short there was such a strong foundation behind it.
I am LOVING the Juniper Court series, I find that each story is well written and the authors did an AMAZING job tying each household into each other, regardless of how many of these stories I read I still get excited when I see mention of characters of different households!
Phillip and Jayne’s story was sweet with a touch of humor and I’m looking forward to more of Juniper Court. -
Relationship Resuscitation- Jennifer Theriot
5-star review
Relationship Resuscitation by Jennifer Theriot is a must read! This was my first book by this author, but it most definitely will not be my last. While it is a shorter read I was still able to read it in one sitting as I couldn’t put it down. Jennifer has such a great writing style, it’s clear and easy to follow with the perfect amount of detail. I was honestly saddened when I reached the end as I could have read so much more of Phillip and Jayne. The two of them together were so cute, they’re witty, charming, funny and very relatable. Their relationship was inspiring!
Relationship Resuscitation is a part of The Juniper Court series, a series of seven books, written by seven different authors all about characters living all on the same street, a street that anyone would be lucky to live on! I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this story as I had been intrigued by Phillip and Jayne the first time they were mentioned in the other books in the series and their story was even better than I could have hoped for. I would absolutely recommend this story and series to anyone looking for their next read! -

Relationship Resuscitation by Jennifer Theriot is one of the seven books in The Juniper Court series. This is a great series that is written by seven different authors that touches on different relationships that live in Juniper court and their issues. This book is about Jayne and Phillip. They are empty nesters, approaching 50, and have lost the zest in their love life. They decide that now is the time to “resuscitate” their love life and compete on who is better in spicing up their love life. Who is the winner and how far will their competition take them? This is the second story I have read from the Juniper Court series and I enjoyed it. It is a quick read and the author keeps you engaged until the end. Each book can be read as a standalone and characters from the books in the series make appearances in thee story. I look forward to reading the rest of he series. -

5 out of 5 stars
I loved reading Relationship Resuscitation from, The Jupiter Court Series by Jennifer Theriot. This is another fabulous and exciting sexy, loveable, and emotional book. I was really excited to read this book/series. The characters are well written, with Ms. Theriot writing style is easy flowing and engaging.
We Meet Phillip & Jayne Miller, original homeowners on Juniper Court. He's a successful attorney; she's a flourishing blogger. Head over heels in love and approaching 50, their relationship needs a little jump start. With the their twin girls married and moved away from Sunview, Phillip and Jayne decide it's time to focus on resuscitating their relationship, complete with spicing up their neglected sex life. When competition between the two sets in, it becomes a full out game to see who can one-up the other trying new things.
Ah, yes. Life on Juniper Court gets interesting... and sometimes embarrassing. Be careful what you wish for and where you stick your nose. Sometimes keeping up with the Joneses--or in this case, the Sullivans can have.
I really enjoyed this book/series and can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
