This is the final book in the Desire series, you must read book #1 Last Resort before you read Best Laid Plans. Best Laid Plans picks up right where Last Resort ended. We find out if Dani decides to stay for the extra week with Evan. Evan and Dani learn more about each other not just on a physical level. Just like the first book there is a lot of sex, lots of sassiness and a little angst. I loved this couple and their story and I was sad to see it end.

Another fun read by Kate Roth! I loved the ending to Dani and Evan's story. There was lots of action in this book, just like the last one. There is even a little bit of angst for those angst lovers. Evan is truly a romantic guy and even though the timeline for these too is very quick, the reader finds it believable. Their's is a sweet love story and I don't think anyone would be disappointed reading this series.

How have I never heard of this series before? I was alerted to this amazing series when I read Mistletoe and Hollywood. Natasha Boyd said I should read it, well if she said so I guess I’ll try it. What a treat was in store for me.
Meet Danielle Ward, she hasn’t had sex in over six years, oh she’s been on dates, she just hasn’t been past third base. In fact her last boyfriend who tried hitting home plate, ended up finishing by himself, while she finished a level in Candy Crush, locked in the bathroom. Now that’s romance!!
So she has decided she’s going load up her credit card for one week and head done to Desire Resort. No one said that you make wise decisions when drinking with your best friend. Now that her brain is less intoxicated she has decided that this is the worse idea that she has ever had.
So what’s a girl to do, she drowns herself in some Margaritas and she shares her story with a couple she met there. While waiting for a round of drinks she overhears some girl saying that none other than Evan Weston is staying at their resort. Obviously she’s hearing things, so she shrugs it off until..
Stunned by the man in front of me, my feet locked on the ground. He lost the smile and that’s when I drank in the vision of him. His hair was the way I liked it, shorter on the sides and longer on top, making him look debonair but not stuffy. In the dim glow of the lamps that lit the walkway, I could see his hair had lightened in the sun and along his jaw there was a hint of stubble just begging to be touched. He took a step toward me and I felt my knees buckle and my eyes start to gloss over from not blinking.
Where is this resort and why am I not there? So now that she has seen that "the" Evan Weston is at the resort, she is kind of on cloud nine. Imagine her surprise when she shows up to the omelet station the next day and none other than Mr. Weston is standing behind her. Does it get better than this? Yes, yes it does, because not only has he shown up to have breakfast with her, he wants her. What!!! Of course, she takes off and leaves him by himself, because I’m thinking she’s in shock, there has to be no other reason! Surprise number two, she finds out he knows about her “situation” and has a situation of his own. You see Mr. Weston often visits this resorts, but has decided this is his last time there.
So now Evan wants her to be his last, and he wants to be the cure for her condition. So what do you do when a super star tells you he wants to help you with your problem? I don’t know what you would do, but I can tell you that I would be asking for a pen to sign the contract, but that’s me.
“So we should shake on it or something?” I asked.
Evan’s hand rose and slipped behind my neck, causing me to flinch. “A deal like this is better sealed with a kiss, don’t you think?” he said, pulling me to him easily.
Now she’s ready for this adventure. Not only will she finally be having sex, she’s having sex with a freaking super star. I would be twittering this thing, but she doesn’t, it doesn’t even faze her that he is a super star, for her he is just Evan.
My hands moved without my full permission and slid the sunglasses off his head, setting them on the waterlogged ledge of the infinity pool. My fingers moved through his hair and his eyes drilled into me. I pushed against him and planted a kiss on his lips, finally unashamed of our closeness, unfazed by the absurdity of the situation, and truly uninhibited for the first time in a long damn time. His arms clutched my body to his and I reveled in the weird, the normal, and every bit in between.
They have this “relationship” except at the end of the week, neither is ready for the other to go and can’t say goodbye. And just when you think everything will be ok, his past comes back to bite him in the ass. It seems if you’re a man whore, your conquests come back and they aren’t really nice about being a notch in your belt.
Danielle knew his past was lengthy but she didn’t know that it would be in her face, and she can’t deal with it. This isn’t what she signed up for, except Evan, well he just wants to be with her. He finally sees love, he can feel it, he can taste it, it’s everything that he’s ever wanted and nothing he thought it would be.
Will Evan finally score the girl by the time the credits roll? It may be his last resort for his best laid plans! -

Best Laid Plans picks up where Last Resort ends. I feel like you see more perspective from Evan Weston's POV, which I loved. This was a sweet love story and a great finish to this series.
Evan is the hot hunky actor that is a regular at Desire Resort and Spa. He's reputation for being a player proceeds him. When he first sees Danielle, his heart skips a beat. When she agrees to stay for one more week with him, he's ecstatic that he can spend more time with her. He's not used to this feeling, wanting to be with someone more than one night. Can he convince her he's not that same guy she met on day 1? Can one mistake make whatever they have between them crumble? Is what they have between them even real or just vacation love?
If you are debating on reading this one, you absolutely should! It is a quick read that you can fit in anywhere during your day.

This is the continuation of the story told in Last Resort. It is necessary to read them in order to understand the plot, and you'd be missing a good read if you didn't !
At the end of the last book, we were left wondering whether she would accept Evan's offer of more than just the week. And as flighty as Danielle is, she still finds the idea hard to resist, however she is definitely worried about her heart. Although we soon learn the significance of Evan's tattoo, Danielle has a longer wait. She certainly made up for lost time now that the spark had been lit! Their chemistry was undeniable.
I really enjoyed this second installment and there was enough suspense and drama to stop it from being too sweet.

Whew... The conclusion to a great story... I absolutely loved every single page of this novella. It was so great. We got to see the other side of Evan and just what nasty little rumors can do to someone in a celebrities life.
Oh I could go on and on, but I really don't want to reveal any secrets from the story. It was great. Evan was great as we saw him open up on saw underneath his celebrity exterior. Dani was so real I felt my heart break for her when things got crazy.
Super sweet, super sexy. Great conclusion even though I still want more of Evan and Dani, I'm happy with the way it all wrapped up. -

Danielle and Evan are embarking in uncharted territory, and we get to see how it plays out.
This was FULL of sexy action, sweet romance, and it had a tiny bit of angst.
It was a sweet, quick read that successfully wrapped up the series.

Today I became Amazon stalker for this book, I don’t know how many times I hit refresh to find out if Best Laid Plans went live.
I loved Last Resort. Words can’t describe how I’m feeling for Best Laid Plans, I can tell you my heart feels complete after finishing this AMAZING book. I didn’t want their story to end. Just like the first book this was FUN. SEXY. The NOOOO Moment.Thank God & Great epilogue. It’s a must read series. -

You know what they say about the Best Laid Plans don't you...they don't always go the way you "think" you wanted them to...and thank your lucky stars that is so true!
Last Resort ended on a big old I-want-to-punch-someone-in-the-face cliffhanger...LOL...but I didn't have to wait too long to have my questions and prayers answered.
How many of us have gone on a vacation in paradise...met the seemingly perfect man, had glorious mind-blowing sex and then parted ways never to hear from them again...broken-hearted and sobbing all the way home because A. you really liked him and B. how you could you be so stupid to think you were different and C. YES...you really really liked him and now it's so over? I have and felt SO many emotions when reading this book I found myself shaking my head, bobbing it up and down in agreement and even shedding a few tears for the mess that followed what was supposed to be ONE MORE WEEK of anything goes, awesome pleasure in paradise.
In Best Laid Plans we find out the emotional scars that caused Evan to become the man he is today...the good and the bad. He gave up so much for one woman who he loved more than anything...we find out who the tattoo is for and why he changed the course of his life for her.
Danielle was suffering from a bit of shock after the first week because come on...how many women who have been beat down like she was would actually believe a celebrity with a huge following and women dropping to their knees in front of him, would want HER for more than a good time. Her self doubt and his as well made for a hard sell for both of them as they try to figure out if these two weeks in hedonistic paradise will translate to more...a real shot at happiness and a future together.
Well you are not going to get those answers or outcomes from me...you will just have to read this gem and go on the ride.
The sexual chemistry was intense...the love scenes written so beautifully that I felt myself squirming a lot...the inner turmoil and mental sparring really made me want to pull out my pom poms and cheer them on to keep going and after some interference from a catty and misguided hotel employee, when we think all hope is gone, life takes another turn and I was surprised with the honesty and outcome.
LOVED this follow-up to Last Resort (sometimes I am so disappointed with sequels)...it was everything I hoped for and left me feeling oh so satisfied. Now a book about Danielle's BFF would be welcomed...grab this book when it is released but please, do yourself a favor and read Last Resort first =)

YAY! and YIPPEE!! I was super excited to get this second installment of Dani and Evan.
The book continues right where the 1st edition stopped...Dani had to decide if she is gonna stay or go....well yes of course she stays...DUH!!
The two realize...ok Dani says this.....that they don't know a lot about the other so this book we are seeing Dani open up to Evan. She is telling him about her life and he is telling her about his. I loved the fact that they had the amazing physical chemistry but now are getting to know the emotional side of the other.
The sexy time was sooooo sexy and panty melting hot but I liked the tender time too. Mr. Movie Star was sooo head over heals for our Dani and was going to do whatever it took to be with her. When he puts his heart out there Dani is such a mess because of a bitter "notch on Evan's bedpost" she leaves him. He is destroyed.....I mean he said he loved her people!!!!!!
I will not tel you anymore except to say if you want hot, sexy, gut wreching, fun, silly and sassy then this is a book you will need to get. The only reason i gave this 4 stars and not 5 stars is that it seemed a bit rushed at the end. I would have loved to see Evan and Dani besides the epilogue........... -
When we left Dani and Evan in Last Resort, Evan had asked Dani to stay another week with him. Dani decides to stay and needless to say, she finds her life will change forever. The question is though, will it be for the better?
Best Laid Plans gives us a little more insight into Evan and what makes him tick and what his motivations are. He wasn’t always the manwhore he is made out to be, the failed marriage he thought was right is proof of that. Dani gets to see a side of Evan that the public isn’t privy to, the caring, attentive side, the side that Dani finds herself falling in love with. But when Evan’s past comes back to haunt him at the very worst time, Dani runs for the hills, certain that there is no way Evan can really change for her. What can Evan do to convince Dani that she is indeed, “the one”?
Best Laid Plans wrapped up everything nicely with a happy ending which I appreciated it. I love Dani and Evan as a couple and the banter between the two of them throughout both books was hilarious and only added to the chemistry between the two. Thankfully I one-clicked the Christmas short story that was available for a limited time because I’m still not quite ready to give up Evan. I’m also looking forward to see how Georgia’s trip to Desire Resort will turn out in the upcoming release, Peachy Keen. -
This is the second part of the Last Resort novella that concludes Evan and Dani’s story. I loved the fact that we get to read from where we have left them—wondering and asking for more—and see the couple trying to figure out what to do with their not-really-saw-it-coming connection.
The read was definitely hot and entertaining, but I have to confess that I felt like the events were a bit rushed, especially towards the last few chapters. It still worked for me because I had previously read Many Times, Many Ways (a Desire Resort novella part of Mistletoe & Hollywood collection), so I was already aware of the path those two would choose and I knew more than this novella tells you. Anyway, if I didn’t, it would have perhaps bothered me a bit more.
Overall, spending time with Evan is always pleasurable, and if you’re up for a quick read that also happens to be hot, sweet and fun, I would suggest you to grab both Desire Resort novellas.

Kate Roth has hit another home run with BEST LAID PLANS. Picking up where LAST RESORT left us hanging, Roth continues the story of Dani and Evan. Thank you Kate Roth. I was dying at the end of LAST RESORT but I loved every minute of it.
BEST LAID PLANS is just one of those few novella that you really do not want to end. I love Roth’s writing skill and her effortless way she handles the inner dialogue among the two main characters. Switching between his and her point of views seems second nature and gives great insight to what is going on with Dani and Evan. I adore these two and as a couple and they are hotter than hot.
Without giving too much away, Roth gives us the rest of the story and better yet, not just what happens at the resort. I cannot say enough about the wonders of this novella. I loved the whole story. This is a must read and would recommend it. HOT HOT HOT but fun and kind of sweet.

Wow Book two sizzles as much as book one but add in some more back story and some drama and you have perfection!
Danielle needless to say decides to spend some more time at the resort with Evan and the getting to know all of you portion of this sexy tale continues. Man, Evan is terribly swoon worthy and it isn't just Danielle that thinks so. Will his past come back to haunt him??? Can Danielle overcome those insecurities?
Danielle is learning to trust and Evan is learning to let her into his life. Together they are a force to reckon with. Of course there will be misunderstandings but with that comes their passion that is written so well in this story. They are in line for a real life happily ever after and for this I could not put this book down until the last I love you was written in the sand. Truth or Dare?
PS. there is a short story to accompany this one in Mistletoe and Hollywood (An Eversea novella and a Desire Resort Series Novella)...which by the way was the way I found these books...thank you !!!! Loved them!!

This was an amazing ending to Evan and Danielle's story. This book is a sequel to book one in this series, Last Resort, so I would make sure to read that before reading this book.
This book was full of stolen moments, bouts of laughter, sexy times, and angst that will have you wanting to throttle their necks a time or two. This book was the perfect conclusion for Evan and Danielle. But still, it was all worth it in the end.
I loved watching Evan and Danielle evolve in this book. And that ending... awesome! I loved when Danielle was telling him what she would and wouldn't do and what she liked. I loved how Evan took it all in and gave it all back to her plus some. Evan showed his sweet side at the end and all I could do was smile at that man.
I enjoyed reading this book and looks forward to more from the author!
I highly recommend this book!

I finished Last Resort, and had to start the sequel immediately.
Because, gawd damn... that ending. Kate's trying to kill me!
Anyway, I start it - not even 5% in and there are tears forming in my eyes. There are feels in this book. A lot of them!
And drama. A good deal of that as well.
Book 1 was Evan and Danielle meeting and the beginning of a sexual relationship - but this one, it's more. My heart ached for them as issues from their past kept coming between them. I also wanted to smack them both upside the head and tell them not to be stupid.
I wish there was more about Harrison. Especially at the end, since he is such an important person to Evan. Mayhaps in a sequel? *hint hint*
This was a perfect ending to their story. Loved it! Can't wait to read the next part of this world, Peechy Keen - the story of Danielle's roommate. She seems hilarious.
SO! Due to it's fabulousness, I give this one 5/5 platypires. Because I loved it!

I so enjoy this author's work; but I don't want to believe that old adage that all good things must come to an end, because I'm just not ready to leave this couple just yet! Evan Weston really decided to lay it all out there, sharing his feelings with Danielle, exposing his vulnerability and his desires. Dani opened herself up, confronting her fears, to explore intimacy on a level she didn't think possible; but her insecurities did rushed in and pushed logic in front of her heart. Oh, how I love this couple and I didn't want our time at Desire to come to an end. This one was really more of a short novella, and I wanted much, much more; don't get me wrong, it did not seem rushed, I just would have liked to explore that time period between the last chapter and the epilogue. Kate, please, please consider giving us more of this couple. I am however, excited to see that Georgia is planning an excursion to the Desire Resort; hum, sounds like fun!!!! Thanks Kate for another fun read.

I was pulled right into this short story. The story has laughs, pain, betrayal, and heartbreak.

Last Resort (Desire Resort, #1)
This is more of Danielle and Evan’s story. Danielle and Evan are finally opening up to really getting to know one another. They have a lot of fun and happy times. He wants her to keep seeing him but she is unsure. But when his past comes back to bite him will Evan be able to figure out what Danielle needs? What if she no longer needs him can he let her go? Or will he fight for her no matter what she thinks she needs?
I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author. -

I am sad to see it end because it was a sexually induced wordgasm. Evan story was tear jerking and I truly did NOT see that confession coming. I did see the fight in him for proving to the inner voices he was worthy. The goodbye had me with my mouth open and the knock followed by laughter had me fist pumping in the air.
Yeah, this is the conclusion but I truly feel Kate has another story in her for two characters that would be a match made in heaven. Maybe they can meet in an impromptu location as well. Oh, and without a hater harboring three years of hope and jealousy, the skank.
I know take you off of punishment and take the price off your head, LOL. This was a great erotic love story. -

Can I just say, I absolutely loved the direction this story went! I am in love with Kate Roth's writing! I will be going and purchasing every book she has written based off this series. For this series to be 2 novella's (shorter length) the connection I had with the characters speaks volumes to Kate's writing ability. Parts of the story were laugh out loud funny, while the emotional parts had my stomach in knots. If you are looking for something that's short, sweet, funny with some hot sex scenes thrown in this is the series for you! You do not want to miss meeting all the hotness that is Evan Weston! -

In this quick fun, flirty story you get in Evan's head. You get to see what or who makes him tick! And then there's Dani and her sassy self...she's come a long way. I love these characters.
The Desire Resort series is a great beachy read. Check out Last Resort before you read this one but both are great! -

Of course nothing is perfect even in paradise and love is always worth fighting for, even if you're fighting against yourself. The hotness continues from Last Resort, making Evan and Dani's story one that you don't want to miss!

Best Laid Plans is a perfect follow up to Last Resort! If you fell in love with this story then you will not be disappointed! <3 I prayed for a happy ending and that each character would find true happiness. Needless to say, you will NOT be disappointed! Of course, with Evan Weston in the picture things aren't going to go as planned, but he stole my heart. His mother would be SO proud!

What a great find this series has been. I've enjoyed every bit of these two books. Love Kate's writing & will continue with her other books. Loved Evan & Danielle's journey to finally sorting out their shit & getting their H.E.A. Sometimes l really wanted to choke Danielle. Again this book was really hot & did have me on edge a bit. All in all a great series......

This novella concludes the story of Daniella and Evan. They enjoyed being together and indulging in carnal activities while in paradise but when it came to emotions such as love, both parties were novices. Are they able to be something more to one another in the real world? I enjoyed the story, the writing, the flow as well as the chemistry of the couple.
