Sophia Lorenzo is a young widow. And she’s in hiding at Bent’s Fort with her one-year-old son. Her late husband’s parents are powerful and determined to take her son from her. To protect them both, she must hide her true identity.

Buck Williams is the wagon master for the wagon train recently arrived at the Fort. He has been a loner since his wife died on a wagon train headed for Oregon. He guards his heart against further hurt.

Buck knows Sophia, but doesn’t know why she is lying about her identity. When she reveals the trouble she is in and asks for his help, Buck finds new hope that protecting this woman and child will atone for his failure to protect his wife.

But trouble is on Sophia’s trail. Can Buck protect the woman and child he’s come to love?

    Christmas wishes

Polly has been dreaming of a wonderful Christmas for a long time and is bound and determined to make it happen. Will Buck be able to protect Sophia from her dead husband's family? Will Sophia trust Buck to be there for her and accept his protection? You'll have to read the book to find the answers. I give this whole series a big thumbs up. I loved reading this series and recommend it to everyone.

I loved this shorter book which was the perfect ending for the Love on the Santa Fe Trail series. Sophia and Buck are drawn to each other, but face danger that their love will be torn apart. The four books in this series all flow together, so by the time the fourth book is read, the reader is really invested in the characters. This book is a very satisfying, warm-hearted tale.

    Sweet conclusion

This is the final book in the series. It was a bit rushed for me, but a sweet conclusion to an interesting series about the Santa Fe trail.

  • Melinda Ross

This was a novella and an add that I guess wraps stuff up in some ways but was really unnecissary.

This review is for books 2-4. This was a series was a sweet romantic stories. The couples have to work hard to come together to form new families but I did enjoy the read.

    End

This was my least favorite of the four books. It was good to get Polly her Christmas. But it kind of ruined the wages master image I had developed in the other books.
