Finding Felicity (Gold Coast Retrievers #5) Reviews
-
The puzzle is there, but the pieces are all askew. Finding Felicity allows the reader to become a part of the bumpy road to the truth. Felicity finds herself caught up in a murder. The mother she barely knew leaves behind more questions than answers and solving the mystery is dangerous work but somebody has to do it. The twists are endless and shocking, yet intriguing all the same.

Simple plot, a weak attempt to create a real personality to the main characters, and nice writing.
If you’re currently overwhelmed after many books (classical or academic) it’s a great reading to chill out. -
Felicity and her Golden Retriever, JJ, work with special needs children in the school district. They are both super sweet souls, and from the very beginning, I knew I was going to love them. My heart broke for her when she found out that her birth mother had died - she not only mourned the person but the future possibilities of getting to know her better.
As she digs deeper into her birth mother’s life, Felicity is convinced that she didn’t commit suicide. Everything about her personal belongings and journals points to a woman content and happy with her life. But there’s only one person who thinks she might be onto something. Thankfully, that’s Officer Darren Willis, the detective in charge of the investigation. But his boss is pressuring to close this supposedly open and shut case quickly.
Felicity digs in and keeps looking, finding herself the target of several deadly incidents. Darren and Felicity come together through the tragedy and danger - with JJ right by her side - and find their feelings for each other growing daily.
Unfortunately, I figured out the who-dun-it way too early. The only reason this didn’t get a 5-star review. I like to have the mystery remain just that - a mystery - until the characters are just about to figure it out - not right at the beginning of the case. The romance though - the romance was strong in this one, and it was lovely. I highly recommend if you don’t mind figuring things out too soon.

Finding Felicity is book 5 in the Gold Coast Retrievers series by P. Creeden.
“Six special Golden Retrievers help their humans solve mysteries, save lives and even find love...”
This was a nice quick read about Felicity Stilton who inherits her birth mother’s vineyard. Darren Wiilis, a detective with the local police department, helps Felicity when her mother dies. Along with JJ, her faithful service dog, they try to find out if her mother would really take her own life.
The pacing was a bit slow in spots but the events in the mystery were plausible with the minor exception of the temperature of the walk-in refrigerator. I have worked in both walk-in freezers and refrigerators. I can’t see the fridge being at or just below freezing. That would have the contents freezing rather than kept cold. I don’t see how Felicity would have survived two hours in the fridge if it had been that cold.
This was an enjoyable, clean read with a good romantic element. I appreciate the story that features a service dog and an owner who wants to help children through the friendship of the dog.

Finding Felicity by P. Creeden is the fifth book in the Gold Coast Retrievers series and lives up to the rest of the stories series. The difference for me was that I became more involved with the golden than the humans. Jay/JJ, the golden, belonged to Felicity was a therapy dog and a constant companion. Felicity had been adopted at an early age and was just getting to know her birth mother. Coming home from her job Detective Darren Willis was waiting to inform her of her birth mothers death. Realizing they knew each other they formed a bond that would eventually save Felicity’s life. With Felicity inheriting her mother’s vineyard ‘accidents’ starting happening with Jay helping Felicity stay calm or saving her from the situation. What will happen to Felicity? Will the ‘accidents’ eventually kill her like her mom? Will Jay and Darren save the day? And what caused Felicity’s moms death? Let the adventure begin......

Finding Felicity by P. Creeden is the fifth book in the Gold Coast Retrievers Series. J.J. is the Golden Retriever in this story. As with the other stories in the series, J.J. is a working dog. He helps his owner, Felicity, teach disadvantaged kids learn how to read. He is Felicity's best friend, as well. Add a murder/ suicide and a hunky detective, and you have the beginnings of a great story. The romance in the book is between Felicity and Darren, the hunky detective [who just happens to be her high school crush]. I received an ARC [advanced readers copy] of Finding Felicity and I am thankful for it. The book was easy to read and grabbed my attention right away. The storyline had so many twists that I didn't figure out the mystery until the last few pages. I really enjoyed the book and I think other readers will too.

Felicity and JJ(the golden) work with special needs children and learns that her biological mom is found dead and leaves everything to her including her winery. While going through her things she feels that she was murdered instead of it being ruled suicide.
Darrin is the detective on the case and soon agrees with Felicity that it was murder as well. Will Felicity get to close to the guilty one and become his next victim? Will JJ have to put his skills to the test and help save her?
This is such a wonderful story of how a service dog will do whatever it takes to protect his person even when the danger is high. Also a wonderful story of finding love when you are not looking for it, and how happy endings do happen to someone. Grab your copy today and read the entire series of this. You will love the ending of each and every story -
This author's addition to the series focuses on a mystery and Felicity, surrounded by danger is puzzled and grasping for straws. As the house of cards begin to fall around the killer, the anticipation is gripping and will keep you glued to the pages. I was a little disappointed that she just (repeatedly) handed herself up on a platter but I guess her emotions were, understandably, too high for she to see clearly, it was also odd to me that Jay didn't pick up on it. This was different, the mystery carries the plot very well without the other elements that I am used to in this series.
I received a free copy, which I am voluntarily reviewing. -
Finding Felicity is another sweet Gold Coast Retrievers tale, this time with a very bright and brave service dog named Jay, or JJ to his friends and the kids he helps with learning disabilities. Felicity Stilton’s birth mother has died from an apparent suicide and Darren Willis, in his first week as a rookie Detective, is torn between his Lieutenant who is pushing him to wrap up this investigation and Felicity who believes her mother’s death was not a suicide. Certainly the multiple, near-death accidents targeting Felicity are of some concern.... I liked the characters and recommend you keep tissues nearby!

Since this story has a bit of a second chance feel to it, I was cheering for Felicity and Darren to make a go of it from the moment we first meet them. It was a lot of fun to see Darren realize that she’s no longer the young girl he used to know. And for Felicity to learn that all those feelings she thought she was over weren’t quite as done as she’d hoped. There are all kinds of twists and turns in the plot that kept me guessing what would happen next. However, maybe it was just my suspicious nature, but I saw that particular villain from the beginning. In any case, I really enjoyed this book.

Finding Felicity (Gold Coast Retrievers #5) was a great read by P. Creeden. Felicity Stilton never gave up on her dreams even though she had a difficult childhood. Her and her Golden Retriever, JJ, help special needs children pave the way for theirown futures. Officer Darren Willis hates that he must tell Felicity that her birth mother has taken her own life. The case seems to be open and shut although Felicity insists something is wrong. Darren believes Felicity's suspicions and is willing to help investigate what really happened. Darren is afraid that Felicity may be next when all signs begin pointing to murder. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.

Another great book in the Gold Coast Retriever series! I love the mystery in this one, and how everything tied together. I also really like the characters. It did seem as though JJ had a smaller roll in this book than the other retrievers have had in the other books, but maybe that's just me. He was still in the book quite a bit! I really enjoy reading about these lovely dogs, and the sweet love stories in each book just make them all the better.
I received this book in exchange for my honest review. -
When Felicity finds out that her birth mother has committed suicide she feels sad and sorry because she wasn trying to known her better. But the more she learn about her mother and her death the more she suspect it’s not a suicide. Can Darren, the detective in charge of the investigation and a past crush of Felicity help her find the truth? Can Jay, her golden retriever keep Felicity save from the danger surronding her?
-
What a wonderful read! I fell in love with JJ the Golden Retriever, he was so in tune to Felicity and could tell her moods. JJ is a devoted companion. I really enjoyed this story because there is a little bit of a mystery going on and then there is romance developing. I was captivated from page one and couldn’t put book down until it was finished. A must read!
Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are of my own. -
The fifth book in the Gold Coast Retrievers series and each one of them just gets better than the last one. Felicity Stilton and her Golden Retriever, JJ help special needs children after her mother's apparent suicide she meets Officer Darren Willis. As Felicity and Darren dig into the truth of the woman's death things do not add up, this is a story with a mystery, suspense, drama, and danger. I can not wait to read the next book.
-
I liked the mystery entwined into this story and how the hero and heroine knew each other from the past as acquaintances. The tackle the mystery of her biological mother's supposed suicide. He put his career as a detective in jeopardy to help her. Her dog plays a big part in helping the heroine after some unexplained accidents happen. I felt the ending of the story left some unanswered questions. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.

"A Good Mystery"
Though Felicity Stilton's childhood was difficult, she now is fulfilling dreams as she and her dog J J help special needs children. But suddenly she gets a call from Officer Darren Willis that Felicity's mother has committed suicide. However, she can sense something else may prove her mother had been murdered. Thus Darren and Felicity take on the investigation, while feelings for each other come to life. This mystery has suspense, intrigue, and some surprises. Enjoy! -
P. Creeden is a new author to me but I had to read book 5 in the endearing and suspenseful Gold Coast Retrievers series. Based on this touching story, I may be a new fan. JJ and Felicity's relationship is really beautiful and I love the chemistry that Darren adds. Though I had a big piece of this mystery solved early on, there were some surprising twists, turns and secrets that kept me riveted all the way to the end!

Finding Felicity
Honest Review left in exchange for ARC.
Suspense with romance. Murder mystery? Maybe, read and find out. Felicity doesn’t believe her birth mother committed suicide and has little time to prove it. She’s got some suspects and a little help from handsome new detective Darren Willis. Action, drama and romance. -
A great series to read, action to keep you turning the pages and easy to follow along. Felicity and her Golden Retriever, JJ who is a therapy dog to her as well as to children with reading disabilities. The story puts Felicity and JJ in the path of a killer where Detective Darren Willis is handling the case. A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start.
