I’d found God in her eyes and a prayer in the subtle way she moaned. I found my soul, the spirit of humanity between her thighs. Devilish temptress or holy angel, I would have her all to myself.

Nothing could happen to her, ever. Not one scratch. Not one frown on her face.

I would kill to make her happy.

From Harlem to Prague, Moscow to St. Petersburg. Kazimir and the Harlem Crew are ready to destroy all enemies in their path. But some foes hide well within the shadows, and not everyone that’s with them is a friend.

In Part II of The Lion and The Mouse, there are hearts to protect, blood debts to repay, and several deadly games to end.

From Erotica Bestselling Author of No Ordinary Love, Filthy Lies, and Power, steamy sex and mind-blowing suspense collide in this BWWM romance about a Russian mafia boss and the one street smart woman he can’t control.

**The novel includes a bonus story called Dirty Dancing—a short story based on Kazimir’s cousin Misha and Ava, the black Prima Ballerina that he’s obsessed with.

    Her pussy was a religion,
    her body
    a scripture
    that I would
    study every night
    as I prayed.
    I wouldn’t put my faith
    in anything else,
    but her.

The Lion has found his Lioness!!!!!!! Da! da! da!

This book was everything and more and it picked up right where "Dirty Kisses" left off! Kaz and Em were literally fire and ice together especially when they made their feelings known. After the death of two very important people in their lives, "Dirty Love"kicked off hellbent with only vengeance and their growing love on their minds. If you thought "Dirty Kisses" was enthralling, well you are in for a big surprise with "Dirty Love"! There was betrayal in Kaz's tribe, deception, mystery and a whole lot of twists and turns that you never would have expected from a supposedly loyal secondary character! What I enjoyed most about this story was Em and Kaz's devotion to one another as well as the way Kenya Wright weaved this story to a perfect ending. Not giving away any spoilers, but I will say," Dirty Love" was fanf*ckingtastic and this is one series I can see going on and on and on!

I stayed up late to finish this because the suspense was killing me. The action was so intense! Emily and Valentina are so badass! The women in this series are bosses, seriously. Of course I love Kaz and Emily, but I NEED more Maxwell and Valentina. 🤌🏾 This was really good but I’m scared to start the next book since my emotions were being played with during this one! I hope Kaz and Emily get their chance at happiness in the next book. I love this series so much!

Listen, I'm a ride or die fan of Kenya Wright, but this book is a...

Dirty Love is a disappointing sequel to a promising prequel in Dirty Kisses. We pick up immediately where we were left off in Dirty Kisses. Emily and Kazimir are still on the hunt for their traitorous brothers in a new country. Despite the build-up from book one, Dirty Love is boring. The storyline was stale, and so were Emily and Kaz. Similar to book one, I don’t get why they’re in love. Although it’s nice and cute, their union didn’t feel real to me. Also, the entire book she’s saying, “I’m independent” and he’s saying “I have to break her” which was extremely repetitive.

Even the "plot twists" were lacking in substance. I guess they were supposed to be there for shock value, but just ended in me going...

Plus, what happened to Emily's blackouts and Kaz being a sadistic bratva leader? Them being a dynamic duo of terror over Prague and Moscow would have been more interesting to read than this watered down version. I feel like the plot was strong, yet the romance/erotic overshadowed it negatively.

Side Note: This could be a personal issue, but the realm of believability exited the moment three people high in the Bratva (Misha, Valentina, Kazimir) all have black lovers.

The ending was rather anti-climatic, and I was left feeling like I wasted my time. Misha and Ava's story was entirely too short, simply because it was unfinished. Ava wasn't a criminal, so would she even want to be with Misha once she finds out he's a leader in the Bratva? So many unanswered questions.

I love Kenya Wright! However, I just can't with the twist in this story as it served no purpose (IMO) other than shock value. Still, I'm a fan and will read anything Kenya writes.

    Dirty Dancing (Bonus Story)
    Teaser. Quick read. Too short.

This was book 2 in " Lion and The Mouse" series. This was a pretty good read that at I thought was too long. Emelie is a sting independent woman who stood her ground and feared no one. She fell just as hard for Kaz and would kill for him and he for her. Kazimir the head of the Russian Bratva with a 100 bodies racked up these have to fight for their lives in Russia and to find who were their enemies are like both of these brother's. I love reading this author this book had some hot sexy scenes in it. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading more of her books.

    Enjoyed!

This is the conclusion to Dirty Kisses, it was suspenseful. I felt like a few questions was left unanswered for me. I don't want to give away the storyline but, why did Luka do it? Who was the baby for? Did Maxwell ever tell her brother about his sister affair? Was the mouse
pregnant? I hope there is more to Misha and Maxwell story even though you gave us a glimpse of Ava and Misha story.

So I was ready to give this story 5 stars but that twist at the end threw me off and there was no resolution. Based on the ending I'm not sure if the author plans to write another story to resolve some of the plot holes. Outside of the plot twist I really enjoyed the two main characters both were strong and the writer did a great job of taking the reader on their journey towards love.

  • Temecka

    I had to DNF @50%

This book was just not working for me.

  • Ciru

I was going to rate this book 4 stars, but Dirty Dancing bumped it up to 5 stars.

Let me start with what I did not like.
There was no proper epilogue. This is a particular pet peeve of mine when it comes to romance novels. I wanted to see Emily+Kazimir, 5 years down the line. Are they still ruling the streets? Or are they home bodies with their baby(ies)? Do they ever go back to New York? And I thought the bad guys in the end got off too easy for all the trouble they caused.

    What I loved?
Em was no fucking delicate flower. She sees trouble, heels off, gun/knife in hand and she's off to the races. The number of times she does this, I have to wonder what her soles look like? But of course her Russian can sort her out with a pedicure.

I loved when she would challenge Kaz, and he had to adjust. He'd throw something her way, and she was willing to compromise in some of the situations, but not lose herself as Kaz's girl.

In terms of Mafia/Bratva book boyfriends, Kazimir can gerrit. I loved how he was obsessed with Em. My people, this was just not love but very strong, you-want-it-to-suffocate-you love. Basically he was like a bad rnb song, I can't sleep, eat, breathe without you, but he carried it out in his own Alpha way.

I loved the dynamic that Maxwell and Xavier brought into the group. I honestly want a book about Max+Valentina. I loved their "dance"- you want me, but can't have me and Valentina's unpredictability in some cases. Her pouting to get her way though annoyed the fuck out of me, I wanted to smack her.

The mystery/chase aspect of the book did not rate very highly for me as the dramatic climax wasn't as dramatic as I wanted it to be. The aspect of afro-Russians intrigued me, had me Googling about them and as such, I would be really interested in reading a review of the boo from a Russian's perspective.

Misha fascinated me that is why I love that we had Dirty Dancing at the end. I would have appreciated it if his story with Ava was also a full book, but it sufficed as a novella.

Hair is a touchy subject. While I appreciated Kaz's obsession with touching/smelling Em's hair, I would have preferred her in her natural hair as in book one over the wigs in book two.

Now, I'm having interracial mafia romance. So, if you know a good one, such as this, with the heroine being black, please let me know. Loved the book, definitely would recommend it.

  • TJ

As a follow up this fell flat for me, the dialogue remained the same throughout the entire book. “You’re mine, do what I say, you belong to me. To I’m independent, I can protect myself and you, you can’t tell me what to do.” Ugh, all of the characters made me what to pull my hair out. Were they friends, enemies, lovers? Should we fear them or killed them? Was Max in love with Emily? Did Kaz want to be with Emily or did he want to own Emily? The questions I have exhausted me and I had put this down several times, hoping it would get better each time I picked the story back up, it was a let down each time. The plot line was weak and the twists were lackluster. Like they were thrown in just because instead of being in the story organically. The reason I gave it two stars was because I finished it.

  • Debra Crosby

    Better than 5🌟

One of those books that you want to continue reading but at the same time don't want it to end. The heroine was not your regular type love 💘 interest, she was don't put me in a Conner type woman and I loved it. I think the villains deaths were not gruesome enough.

  • Izzy

I had some issues with plotting and too many characters happening in this one. I still enjoy Kenya's writing and want to read more by her, but probably not this series.

Also just WTF with the reveal on the possible dads!

  • BookishAnya

Okays it’s officially I love Emily so much, she’s such a badass without being over the top, cringe or dumb. A healthy relationship for a mafia romance,I think kaz truly sees Emily as he equal and doesn’t use his dominance to over power her (not that I think he could 😂).
I was abit wary of max in the first book thinking there would be a love triangle or something but I ended up really liking him in this book. And he does have a lot of pov chapters which I enjoyed which is something I usually don’t when it isn’t one of the mc.
The one thing that kept bugging me was how they glossed over when someone had died when they’re meant to be so close and see each other as family. Other than that a great read.

  • Debra Spears

    Wonderful read

If I could give 12 stars I would. The NYC Uptown girl in me enjoyed this series so much I didn’t want it to end. I don’t know what I expected but it certainly wasn’t this. Awesome read. I feel like I want more but it ended so hot I’m not sure it’s needed. Definitely worth the time to read.

  • Bianca D. Lewis

Yes Ms. Wright is Right on!

Love this author. The lion and mouse series is totally sexy! Tons of twists to keep us on our toes, but the underlying love between the main characters is what we have come to love about Kenya Wright's characters! I will read anything by Kenya Wright.

  • Bertha Johnson

    Wow Amazing Short Story!!!!

Can wait to finish Ava and Mishe story. I just know that it is going to be great. Great start to a beautiful story.

  • Mísee J.

I really wish we could give half stars. It was really close to a four however, I had some issues. The fact that Kazimir and Emily could barely be in a scene together without having sex annoyed me a bit. I would have liked to see their relationship blossom from more than constant sex in the middle of a family war. And, being honest, the connection for Valentina and Maxwell felt a little more refined. This was due to all of their interactions not being in the bedroom. (Or in their case bathroom). With this being said, read the book for yourself. It was interesting with all of the action and plot twist you’d expect.

  • jakeyvia

okay, first and foremost it has to be stated that book two in the lion and the mouse series blew book one out the water. the characters, pace, content, general progression were all improved upon and it made this read so much more interesting and easier to get into. like i mentioned in my review of book one, mafia series take time and someone as impatient as i am struggles with that. HOWEVER, if the series keeps getting better like this, i can wait.

in dirty love we get closure on everything from dirty kisses and when i tell you it's the most expected unexpected conclusion? i mean that. even still, i do feel as though the main events were anti-climatic. i mean, you spend two books trying to get to the bottom of a situation and in its fruition you just speed past it. i would've loved to see more in-depth reactions from more characters. hell, even a pov from the characters involved.

emily and kaz, y'all have my heart. if i've said it once i've said it a thousand times: my favorite genre is black women being taken care of. my favorite sub-genre has to be them accepting it though. emily has been pushed out of her comfort zone and even though it's startling, she falls into it and i LOVE that. as a couple, emily and kaz balance each other out so well and their dynamic is one of my favorite things (writing wise) about the book.

dirty kisses gets 3.8⭐s from me. definitely moving on to the next.

  • Gia

I STILL wanted to see more in this book than what we got but it was nice to have the character development with Emily and Kaz. And especially with Max and Kaz's sister. I did feel a bit let down towards the end of the book because I did feel like Emily ended up giving into Kaz's possessiveness and dominance a bit too much and she lost a portion of her edge, but we do get a clear ending with the whole death plot from book one. With the expansion of the people from Kaz's life in this book, my rating went up but much like book one it took a while to get into story even though I just finished book one a few days ago.--Romance books like these naturally tend to bore me because I like books that are more suspenseful lol BUT this series has that woven into it as well the details on culture, socio-economics, race and history that the author works into to the context. (Odd thing to pull from a book like this, I know! But that's why I liked the characters/story and stuck around lol) All-in-all, I am very glad I gave it a chance. ^_^

You guys! I’m just so in love with these books. They are the perfect amount of sexy, hot as fuck scenes & violence and action. Perfect combo. And I just love the side characters as well. We get a few different POV’s in these books (mainly Kaz and Emily) and it’s nice to get into the heads of the other characters. ⁣
Highly recommend these books if you love things dark and dangerous with a badass heroine.🖤

  • Kashi Ashley-Ann Lowe

I love Kaz and Em. The two of them are perfect for each other and boy is the sex scenes intence. However, i really felt that betrayal. I did not see that coming and what is the reason for that betrayal. We get why Sasha and Darryl did but the other person? I must say that i was a little disappointed that those three betrayers died so easily. Ugh! Some good old fashion torture is what they needed but getting killed with the torture is okay too. All in all, I'll still loved the book and i still love books by Kenya and I'll continue to read her work in the future

    3 1/2 to 4

Great read again with lots of action and hot sex. This one had some glaring editing errors that stood out and bothered me at times. I usually don’t say anything, but these were really noticeable.

Kaz is sexy as hell and all alpha, but Em puts him in his place. They are hot and full of chemistry that keep you reading. All the secondary characters are interesting too.

  • Jess *lovetolovebooks*

I’m officially hooked on this series and this cast of characters. I enjoyed Dirty Love more than book one and I didn’t think that was going to be possible! The writing is immersive, fast paced, and addictive. I can’t wait to see what happens next and where these characters and relationships end up. If you haven’t read this series yet, get on it immediately. There’s danger, action, steamy romances, and hot dirty talking dudes. I’m loving it!
    Overall rating 5 stars
    Steaminess 4 stars

i liked this one way better than the first, same crazy shit but i was so invested and so intrigued i couldn't stop reading it!
also liking maxwell povs more, him and valentina are interesting too!! and misha with ava? oh boy that man is obsessed indeed!
really liked how kazimir and emily are trying to make the relationship work and learning from each other and learning how to respect and lean into one another, pretty beautiful to read, liked how they communicate!
