Considering this is an introductory piece, stand-alone it satisfies the need and want of a reader. The story is riveting and the phenomenal way that Constantine can tell a story and the versatility of his genre choice is nothing short of amazing. Talon, the main character, blossoms before the reader's eyes from youthful innocent to a robust kid that is full of wisdom and understanding of how his world operates. With stains of life lessons bared upon the flesh of his mind, this story speaks honestly and causes the reader to empathize with the characters. This story has elements of horror, dark connotations that only Bard himself can interpret with his prose. I cannot wait to read another installment and learn more about this world that he has created. A truly stunning piece that did not disappoint.

Talan follows his desperate hungry stomach into a city that fills his guts with empty promises and sorrow. He's forced into a labor camp after being treated like royalty to slave and toil for a force greater than anything he's ever know.
Through his hardships and fury he's developed a sixth sense and newly found evolutionary powers Talan forges a master weapon called Muse, with Muse and his newly found powers Talan manages to destroy the evil forces which have been devouring his world slowly. Talan overcomes all odds but at a painfully awful price. Now he must learn to live again as humble and peacefully as possible.
Bard continues to blow my mind with the ebb and flow of his lyrical prose. I highly recommend this delicious short story for everyone. -

Tumbling In Books
I'm not one who usually read short stories(unless it's on Wattpad), but City of Glass was surprisingly... good. I mean, I'm not jumping up & down in my seat out of excitement but this was good. I wasn't into it at first but after Talan was in the City of Glass it gets interesting. I love the author's writing. It has kind of a... poetry vibe into it. Seriously, if you guys are a short story kinda person(or even if you're not), you should TOTALLY give this book a shot :) -
An intriguing concept for the old adage "the grass is greener on the other side".
Be careful what you wish for, because you might just get it. And wind up over your head in a situation you can not escape.
Great read, and I will definitely be reading more of "The Bard" in the future. -
A really good short story that reminds me very much of bits of HGWells classic Time Machine, but with a delicious fantasy twist.
Beautifully written and cleverly conceived and put together. Had me glued to the pages all the way through. If you like short fiction, this is a must. -
There was a good story in here but it felt incredibly rushed. A deep breath and more build up would do it justice. -
I was absolutely blown away by the Eye of Everfell and the Darkest Champion. Unsure how I overlooked this fantastic short story. It’s been amended now though. Seriously Bard Constantine’s prose and storytelling ability is amongst the best I’ve read. This short story is an absolute delight. Magical and horrific. A dark tale that gave me feels of The Snow Queen or other folklore inspired classics. Can’t wait to experience more of Constantine’s works.

Such a fun novella to start a new fantasy world by Lewis Knight. The pacing had a few hiccups for me, but overall, this was a fun prelude that kept me wanting to know more. Muse must be accounted for! -
disappointed!
