Things are starting to get a bit more dangerous. The monsters are no longer mindless and are actually attacking with strategy. There might be more to these monster attacks than anyone knows. Nia is starting to open up and little more and while I still don't consider this a "harem" book, this one did have more of the elements in it. Nia is having sex with Gryff, so is Lydia, they both know he is sleeping with both of them so maybe they can all have fun together? I did think that Gryff was getting a little whiny, expecting too much of everyone else. When something happens that no one has ever seen before he gets pissed off that his teachers don't immediately know what to do. He also gets upset when he finds out they don't know everything about the portals and why the show up. Still, it is a very good story. I really enjoy all the relationships and the complexity of all the characters (surprisingly Gryff is the least complex character out of everyone). There were new monsters and new strategies on how to win in fights. I am impressed that the author keeps coming up with new and interesting ways for Gryff to use his monsters and win fights.

Again this series improves with another story. I find my self more and more interested in the events of the world, and where the story is going.

The Main Character is still a little bland and un-relatable. Lacking flaws that provide depth to the character. The supporting characters are much more enjoyable, and they really hold up the story.

I will continue reading the Summoner Series with high hopes for a consistently improving story.

A strong addition to the series.

The story was good and made me stay up way too late to finish it. Overall it was good and the characters are continuing to get more backstory and development. The books are getting better and better.

“We have a reputation, definitely,” she said softly, “but only a fool wouldn’t be afraid. And fear is okay. Fear is what makes humanity better. Fear makes us sharper, more cautious. Overcoming our fears is what makes us stronger. So, fear isn’t bad. It’s what we do with it that defines us.”
    - Nia (my fav char so far)
Those lines set the tone for this book. This book was the culmination of everything built up in the previous ones- Epic battles, big revelations, serious developments, questions, answers and more questions.

I like how detailed the post-battle recovery scenes were. How they came into terms with the destruction, the weight of their responsibilities and therein, their own helplessness in the greater scale of things. More importantly, it made the MC question himself and his motivations for being a hero and if he is doing the right thing.
I absolutely Hate the typical ‘hero’ mentality, moreso for those with shallow reasonings. And that aspect of the MC here has annoyed me for quite the while now. But this book shed more light on that and convinced to an extent that his aspirations are more than just a lazy plot device.
And though I’m still not any fonder of such MCs, I can chew on this and this has resolved my biggest issue with this series.

Now I’m excited for what’s to come esp. for how he comes to see the story from the side of the monsters and eventually accept some of them into his side. I’ve always had this thing for those depicted as the bad guys and often end up rooting for them when they have similarly strong motivations for doing what they do.
Afterall reality is often not about right or wrong but the conclusion drawn based on the perspective one is looking from. And what is considered by the majority as ‘good’.
One nation’s War Hero is often the mass murderer of another.
And I love it when authors explore this aspect and craft complex characters with grey moralities beyond the plain black/white.

Still very much like the story and characters. Although I must say I don’t like the magic system. No matter what fight they’re in they have the constant threat of mana depletion. They are so weak because of it. Gryff and depletion my mana by using a grade c monster for 5 minutes which is insane. I do t know if he’ll ever get OP but I really want him to be more. At this point he would still be more useful as a oneshot summoner with a grade B or A monster. It’s still early but the books are tiny and theres only 22 books so I hope progression starts soon.

    superb!

Another hit and stunner from Vall. The story is really ramping up! I also must say his harem is growing quite nicely! This on that front is great! The last battle was purely epic! I only hope he got some sweet rewards from that… truly, I also hope he starts to grow his powers more.mi know it’s still early in the series but I hope our hero starts to work with bigger monsters and more impressive combinations… but the books are progressing rather well. Onwards to the next book and more adventures!

    Still Quite Good

The first two books were better, in that there was more character development and build up. Book three exercises the formula used in the first two books, but lacked development and detail. Gryff and Nia’s relationship progressed but other than a similar fighting monster formula, not much else happened. Book 4 is on my radar.

    Fun but not deep

These books are a light, fun read. They could use a bit of editing of sentence structure and such. There is a fair bit of rather gratuitous sex that slows things down to the point that I have even skimmed through the scenes.

That said, the magic is interesting and this is a nice palette cleanser, so to speak.

    Better action and more story!!

Less of unnecessary writing, and more action sequences are a welcome relief. The MC and sidekicks have no character progression to speak of in a major way even though we are onto the 3rd installment of this series. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

    Love it!

So far this has been an incredible series and I both regret and am happy that I just started it. This book furthers the tale of why our MC is a hero and brings his relationships with new and old characters into focus. The fights are well written and help make the book one to put down.

Enjoyed, can’t wait for the next

Really enjoyed this book, the series as a whole seems to be moving in a very interesting direction and I’m eager to find out what Eric does with this. Keep up the great work.

    Excellent

I just love this series of books. They are both funny and full of action. They have a good storyline and keep you guessing what will happen next. I can’t wait for the next book. It’s a great book, I highly recommend it.

    Good read

Good book. Good characters. Not to much sex, but enough to make it seem a little more authentic. Normally it fades to black or the people in the book just never have sex. The rest of the story fit well and I can't wait for the 4th.

    Good Stuff

A continuation of the incredible entwined with the normal, made interesting and engaging through craftsmanship and hard work. It’s difficult to say where the story is going, and that’s part of the fun. Definitely recommended.

    Great book

I started this book about 3 days ago and I could not stop reading it! I did not even realize I got to last page until I read “end of book 3”! Highly recommend reading this series.
