Magic, Monsters, and Misdeeds Reviews

Magic, Monsters, and Misdeeds - This collection consists of eight previously published books. Except for Wynne, all the other authors are unknown to me. Since some of these books are part of a series and not the first book, I was not interested in reading them. Most of these books did not interest me, except Red Robin and the Huntsman by Ms. Cameron, which I did not have time to read by the release date. I did not pay attention to Ms. Wynne's contribution, which I thought was a wonderful book when I read it back in 2018. This book alone is worth getting this collection. I found this collection on Booksprout.

Aubrey Wynne, Saving Grace - This is my first read by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Well written and intriguing, a good historical background well blended with the present immerses the reader deep into the pages. There's a touch of magic bringing a fantasy element to the story, which adds a richness to an already lovely story. The parallels between Chloe and Grace are similar even though there's 300 years between them; prejudice and hatred still exist. Korinna's story and her part in this story adds to the magic. Even with the dark, the light shines through and too soon the story is finished. Clean with no profanity. Needs minor editing. 4*

Not part of this collection, but another wonderful story by Ms. Wynne:
Aubrey Wynne, For the Love of Laura Beth #4 - I absolutely love Ms. Wynne's books and this is my favorite of the one I have read. Life before, during and after the Korean War, and the lives of the families of the bride and groom living and suffering through this period of time. The storylines are interesting, while the characters just tug at your heart and you want to know what happens next. There is sadness, joy and a gamut of emotions that keep you from putting the book down. The vivid descriptions let you be there with all the characters and the events. Even everyday life isn't boring. There's no profanity, explicit sex or violence, but a great understanding of what everyone faces and faced. This is not a book to speed read but to savor each page. I couldn't stop reading. I contacted the author to review her books and receive this book through Booksprout. 5*

The other authors and their books:
    Leona Bushman, Daryn's Slayer
    Diane Rinella, Moonlight Serenade
Nicola M. Cameron, Red Robin and the Huntsman
    Dawn Brower, The Enchanted Princess
    Elizabeth St.John, The Alpha's Dove
Rebekah Lewis, Under the Satyr Moon
    Lauren Smith, Mikhail
    Magic, Monsters, and Misdeeds end.

    So many stories

    April 12, 2019
This has eight long stories. My favorite was SAVING GRACE that involved a lot of action and a ghost and UNDER THE SATYR MOON which delves into Greek mythology for its characters. Here are the stories with a brief synopsis.
MIKHAIL by Lauren Smith - This is a dragon story starting in 1559. It has several dragon clans in it and it is Piper and Mickhail's story.
UNDER THE SATYR MOON by Rebekah Lewis - This has so many characters from Greek mythology. This is Ariston and Lily's story.
THE ALPHA'S DOVE by Elizabeth St.John - Delila is a 20 yr old full figured woman who is being forced to marry. Markus Donavan has always wanted Delila only she doesn't know it.
ENCHANTED PRINCESS by Dawn Brower - This ends in a cliff hanger. Princess Elodie Kendrick was expecting to be queen until her stepmother who is Queen has arranged a marriage for her to Prince Daire. Only problem he is the queens nephew and a third son so she'll never be Queen anywhere. Then she is poisoned and ends up in another realm.
SAVING GRACE by Audrey Wynn - This tells two stories. One is Grace a healer who was accused of being a witch and Chloe Hicks is a now a days woman trying to make a profit on her horse farm. This has a lot of action in it.
RED ROBIN AND THE HUNTSMAN by Nicola M. Cameron - This story is set back in time and tells the story of Captain Duncan Bardahlson and Countess Robin Duquesne Busse. A lost love that is found again.
DARYN'S SLAYER by Leona Bushman - Daryn is an old vampire with magic and has just found his mate in Ernestine Primrose and she is a werewolf shifter.
MOONLIGHT SERENADE by Diane Rinella - This involves ghosts and lots of emotional baggage. This story revolves around two main characters Dale and Bailey. They finally meet at the ending of the book for a happy ending compilation of all the characters .

Magic, Monsters, and Misdeeds contains 8 wild romances for the wicked at heart. Each story will leave you enchanted and enthralled as it weaves magic, monsters, and misdeeds to bring you an exciting tale. Below is one of the stories included in this set.

*** Reviewing THE ENCHANTED PRINCESS by Dawn Brower ***
Elodie is a week away from her 18th birthday when she is to inherit the throne from her evil stepmother, Fiona. Her stepmother won't allow Elodie to learn how to fight and defend herself, so Elodie trains in secret with Cale, one of her guards.

One day her stepmother announces that Elodie is now betrothed to a prince named Daire in a neighboring kingdom. Elodie despises Daire from an incident in their childhood and has avoided him since. She is furious that he is her betrothed and runs away to escape this travesty.

Unfortunately, Daire follows her, as well as Cale who is her guard and protector. They are taken to a different realm where they find flowers that talk, murderous trees, blind seers, and a magical force against them. They must find a way to return to Elodie’s realm to reclaim the kingdom that is rightfully hers. If they cannot, they face death or the possibility of becoming permanent residents of the dark dreamscape, losing her kingdom forever.

Grab a copy of this box set of tales and enjoy the fantasy!

8 amazIng authors come together to make magic monsters and misdeeds
Mikhail is the first story in the book and it was freaking awesome!!! I was so engrossed in the story from the first sentence that I chewed all my nails off- and I’m not a nail biter! I had previously read Dawn Brower’s Enchanted Princess but I enjoyed it just as much the second time. Elodie, Princess of Zelnon must fight her evil stepmother Fiona for her birth right as queen. Fiona has no desire to step aside. It has a unique Snow White feel to it as Elodie fights to regain her kingdom. I have also previously read Audrey Wynn’s Saving Grace, this story too was just as enchanting as the first time I read it. Years later I will be driving down a country road see a unique antique store and imagine it is Enchanted Keepsakes. Korrina adds so much to the story..
The Alpha’s Dove was interesting and I found both Delila and Markus very likeable.

The stories above are well worth the cost of the collection and the remaining stories are enjoyable as well.

  • Avid Reader

This boxset contains a wide variety of stories in varying lengths but all with a touch of the paranormal or fantasy whether that is ghosts, curses, shifters or Greek mythology. Some of the books are part of a series but can be read as a standalone. However, Enchanted Princess is the start of a series and ends in a cliff hanger. All the books are available separately but I really enjoyed this chance to read some new authors and such a variety. I will definitely be looking for more books by these authors.

Lily is on a camping trip with her boyfriend of years when he tells her he is breaking up with her. He leaves her and Lily is on her on. In the background the old gods are at work pushing her towards a satyr called Ariston. Suddenly Lily's life becomes a part of myth and legend. Can she find what she needs in Ariston with the gods trying to help or hinder?
Fascinating story with a few laughs a few tears but a lot of adventure in a way.
