There are moments when you think life is going one way and a major curveball sends you the complete opposite direction. That’s me, standing in the rain, wondering how things went so terribly wrong.

What do I need? To hide at my brother’s house to lick my wounds.

What do I get? My brother’s roommate, sexy-as-sin best friend, Carter Kennedy.

The cute, adventurous boy who was my teenage crush. The inspiring, irresistible man who will never be mine.

But then things get complicated with fun-filled days and pleasure-filled nights.

If Carter wasn’t the most commitment-phobic person I know, I could consider the cliché of dating my brother’s best friend. But he will never fit the husband checklist I made to find the man who will be my world, and I’m not willing to compromise on that.

At least, that's the plan.

I am such a fan of the brother's best friend romance troupe, and this book hit the spot for me. If you're looking for a sweet, romantic, easy read that will leave you with a huge smile, this is the book for you!

Julia Bradford just got dumped. Though it wasn't a devastating breakup, it still has her thinking about her life and what she wants out of it. She decides to move in with her brother for a bit while she collects herself. Her brother's best friend, Carter is rooming with him right now as well. When Julia decides to make a 'husband checklist', she talks Carter into helping her.

I loved the premise of this story. It was such a fun time. Carter is a little hesitant to help Julia at first, but he gives in. He just can't say no to her. The chemistry between them is always there, but this is also a friends to lovers story, as they're friends first. I loved watching them fall for each other. What started off as just a fun time together turned into so much more. Julia and Carter are both great, and I loved Julia's brother and his girlfriend, Cora as well.

I enjoy Jasmin Miller's writing style lots. The Husband Checklist was a fun read that was steamy, sweet, and low on the angst. The characters were lovable and I liked it lots!

Life is so much better when you can share it with someone you love. It changes everything.

An engaging, heartwarming and a well written feel good story with a great pace. Both main characters were wonderful, relatable, kind and caring... and so cute as a couple together. But the whole book was just a little bit too Hallmark-y for me... at least so I thought right after finishing it. Nevertheless I found myself thinking about the main characters even after 2 days, which doesn't happen often to me...
So I recommend this book to everyone who is looking for a light, sweet and positive read with good developed story and childhood friends to lovers and brother's best friend trope. Everyone needs a fairytale from time to time...:)

Holy chemistry this was so good

Julia and Carter's story was beautiful, fun, flirty, sexy and so swoon worthy. This book had all the tropes I'm loving right now
    ✔Brothers Best Friend
    ✔Roommates
    ✔Friends to Lovers

Carter was sweet, kind, incredibly caring, cheeky and so supportive. He was not looking for a serious relationships feeling like he never witnessed a healthy long lasting one growing up and is reluctant to the idea of settling down or having kids in the future.

Julia was funny, a little awkward, adorable, optimistic and looking to imporve herself and her life while trying to find someone to settle down with and start a family. She had a youthful charm and could be a little naive and impulsive at times just wanting to let loose and have fun while still dealing with issues due to her parents passing.

Carter and Julias story was such a joy to read and left my heart feeling so full. I dont think I've ever smiled this much while reading. It wasnt all fun and games they did have to deal with some more emotional stuff but overall this was a super fluffy and feel good story.

Freddy & Daphne you have my heart.

This is a great brother's best friend's romance that was sexy, fun and packed an emotional punch too. Julia and Carter have amazing chemistry that we get to experience very early in the book. They grew up together but Julia was younger than Carter and her brother. They never explored any form of romantic relationship until as Julia moves back home after a disastrous break up with her boyfriend.

The sparks fly right away and they resist each other for a while before giving in to their attraction. Their romance is a bit taboo because neither of them think Julia's brother would approve. Carter also has no faith in relationships because of what he observed with his parent's broken marriages.

This couple had great banter and Carter was just the absolute sweetest guy. I loved seeing him work out his personal issues and finally accept his love for Julia. Overall this is a light, fun and sexy read I really enjoyed.

Carter and Jules were childhood friends but when a sad Jules shows up at her brothers place over a breakup and Carter is there, it's going to change these childhood friends lives in ways the both need.

Even though they are not to cross the line I'm glad they leaped over that bad boy. These two are the definition of friends make the best lovers. Things happen fast between them.

Told in dual POV and in such a way that you can feel the love grow and develope. I felt I was in the room with them. Between the good, the worries, the surprises and the smoking chemistry I was hanging on every letter and did shed a few tears along the way.

I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.

“The Husband Checklist” by @jasminmiller is a charming and chemistry driven brother’s best friend romance with just enough steam and angst to make for one of the best light-hearted and breezy reads to dive into this fall.

Carter and Julia have been friends since childhood and when Julia ends up getting dumped by her longtime boyfriend, she moves in with Carter and her brother, in hopes of reevaluating her life.

While Julia’s brother is away, Jules challenges Carter to help make her a better person and in the process she creates a “husband checklist” so she’ll never down grade again.

Julia is attracted to Carter and vice-versa, but he doesn’t meet any of her checklist requirements. Can Carter change his player ways for Julia?

This is such a fun and comfort driven book and Carter has to be one of the sweetest brother’s best friends. The chemistry and banter between these two is off the charts and I’d take Carter as my book boyfriend any day! Go buy it!!!!

    I absolutely loved this book!

The characters were real and relatable. You wanted to know them in real life, to befriend them.

Most of us have been in her shoes before, we understand that pain, understand feeling lost.

Carter was beyond sweet, but in a very realistic way. He's not mister perfect, but he is perfect for her.

I couldn't put this book down, neglected my husband and kids a bit, but it just sucks you in.

Jasmin knows how to write characters you care about and men you can't help, but to fall in love with

After getting dumped by her boyfriend, Julia decides to move in with her older brother, Owen, until she gets back on her feet. Julia’s hit with a big surprise when she learns that Carter, her brother’s best friend and the guy Julia had a crush on for years, is also Owen’s latest roommate. Over the years, Carter’s only gotten sexier. But it’s pointless to take notice, as Carter’s only ever seen Julia as Owen’s little sister.

After yet another failed relationship, Julia decides to take drastic measures to ensure she finds a real keeper the next time around. She creates a “husband checklist” and ropes Carter into helping her complete it.

But when Carter and Julia take an impromptu trip to Vegas, the two of them end up having a one night stand together. This complicates their seemingly black and white relationship, adding out-of-this-world sexual chemistry into the mix. Carter’s not looking to settle down anytime soon, if ever, and Julia’s looking for her forever man. This combination is bound to leave Julia more heartbroken than ever...

The Husband Checklist by Jasmin Miller is a lighthearted, brother’s best friend romance that’ll surely put a smile on your face. I love how sweet and fun Jasmin’s books are, and this is no exception. Carter and Julia were so cute together and I loved their HEA in the end! 4/5 stars.

When I chose this book out of the romance section I was already expecting to love it and set high expectations.
    And guess what?
It met every single one of them.
It was an amazing book which I finished very quickly and well just adored.

I'd suggest this book to people who enjoy cliche novels and who are looking for a funny light hearted book!

This is my first book by Jasmin Miller and I really enjoyed her writing style. The characters were very real and relatable--even the secondary characters were great.
Julia has just been dumped by her boyfriend and returns to her childhood home where her brother, Oliver, is currently living. Oliver's best friend and her childhood friend, Carter, opens the door instead of her brother. The chemistry between Julia and Carter is instant as soon as they are together and he has always been attracted to her, but warned off by Oliver. Julia comes up with an idea to make a "husband checklist." Carter knows he is everything on her list, except for the part about commitment. He has watched his mom go through man after man.
I enjoyed Carter and Julia's story and watching them become friends to more than friends. It was a quick, easy and enjoyable read. I look forward to reading more by the author.

Thank you to the author for providing me with an arc in exchange for an honest review.

What a cute story and exactly what I needed. Carter and Julia are positively adorable! This book is classified as a brothers best friend romance but I think it can also be put into the childhood friends turned romance category.

Julia comes back to her childhood home to find her childhood best friend also living there. And boy does Carter look all man not teenager anymore! Carter is such a sweet guy, stepping back into that role of best friends even after several years apart due to drifting away. He knows Jules’ facial expressions and can anticipate her needs, which is exactly what she needs as she’s growing to find who she is again.

When they take a trip and things turn into more chemistry between them, they are faced with working through issues with her brother. There are several other obstacles that they are faced with that they’re able to overcome once they’re able to sit down and talk them out.

If you’re looking for a sweet, adorable romance that makes you jealous of their romance, this is a book for you. It checks everything off your list that you could want. I came away being so happy for these two.

"The Husband Checklist" is a romance novel about Julia's and Carter's love story. After her break up, Julia has to live with her brother for a while. When she visits his house, she bumps into Carter, who is her brother's roommate, best friend and also her teen crush.
I think that's the book by Jasmin Miller I enjoyed the most. I loved the connection between Julia and Carter. Also, I liked the way things went out for them, because it took time for their relationship to evolve and there was no rush. The characters are well written and you can bond with both of them. In each chapter the narrator changes and the reader has the chance to read the story from different points of view.
All in all, "The Husband Checklist is a perfect book for romance lovers. They' ll find it a really fun, sweet and enjoyable read.

This was my first book of this author and it was amazing.

I loved all the character especially Carter. He was just the percect bookboyfriend you could ever imagine.

Jasmin‘s writing was really really good and I couldn‘t stop reading the book.

The story starts of with a heartbroken Julia standing at the front door of her brother‘s home finding their childhood best friend Carter before her. She then decides to make a „Husband Checklist“ to write down what she‘s looking in a potential husband. Honestly this story was so funny because I kinda can relate to that and I think I‘m not the only one!

The book was funny, sweet and it made my heart squeeze a few times.

You really should read it. A perfect book for inbetween😊

    Carter and Julia!

I really enjoyed this book especially since it was one of my favorite tropes. Carter and Julia had been friends since they were kids. Yet Julia has always had a crush on him. Carter had some soul searching to do and once he figured out what he wanted he was determined to get the woman of his dreams. This was a well written sweet story with amazing, relatable characters.

    Totally swoonworthy and captivating!!

I absolutely loved this book, from the very first page I was completely hooked and could barely put it down. The love between Julia and Carter was evident the moment they both opened their mouths, from the very first hug to when they first kissed. I was absolutely enamoured with their story...the angst, the banter, the slow burn and the steam of their love story was utterly divine and mesmerising. This sweet romance deserves every star! And that cover! Omg! Absolutely perfect!
    Such a great read!!

  • Jeeves Reads Romance

There’s just something about Jasmin Miller’s writing style that makes the sweetness and lightness of her stories shine. Featuring two characters who are easy to like, feelings that run deep, and sexual tension that’s on point, The Husband Checklist is a brother’s best friend/friends to lovers story that has plenty of heart. While I would’ve loved the book a lot more had it been a slower burn, I still enjoyed reading about this couple’s journey from lifelong friends to lovers.

The story follows Julia, a woman who flees to her brother’s apartment after a bad breakup. Expecting to crash with her brother, his best friend (and roommate) answers the door instead. Julia and Carter have known each other for years, but they lost touch after the death of her parents. She’s been grieving ever since, losing pieces of herself along the way. It’s Julia’s breakup that sparks her to better herself and reclaim her life, creating a checklist of things she wants to work on to improve her chances of finding a good guy. While Carter doesn’t think Julia needs to change anything, he agrees to help in her journey. History has taught Carter that there is no such thing as lasting love, but spending time with Julia makes it tough to remember why he should be staying away from her.

The writing is great - while the book addresses some heavier subjects, the overall tone is light and fun. I loved how these two were so compatible from the start. They’ve been friends for a long time so there is a natural level of comfort between them, and the chemistry was apparent from the beginning. Where the book lost me a bit (because this is a major pet peeve of mine) is when Julia and Carter thought they could sleep together without getting feelings involved - despite the fact that they’ve crushed on each other for years. It’s a trope that I personally cannot stand, but Miller handles the complexities of that well. This of course leads to some tension and bumps along the way for our couple, which started to add up over time. All in all, it’s a solid book though not my favorite by Miller. Many thanks to the author for providing me with an ARC. I am voluntarily leaving a review of this sweet/steamy romance.

  • Samantha Turbyfill

Absolutely adored this book start to finish. I never doubt that I will love a Jasmin Miller HEA.

Brothers best friend is one of my fav tropes with a hood slow burn and secrets. These two don’t fit the traditional mold as they get to explore the possibility of what could be on a whim in Vegas! And while the saying is what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.....what happens when you don’t want that to stay in Vegas?

If you live a sweet story with a sassy heroine trying to find herself go get this one! ❤️❤️❤️

Oh man, this was like a bad soap opera. Not sure if I read the same book everyone else did.

    English:
"The Husband Checklist" by Jasmin Miller is a contemporary romance with the sexy brother's friend, sweet, hot, and very entertaining with moments that will make you laugh, without forgetting the complications.

As soon as she knocked on the door of her brother's apartment and saw his best friend, Carter Kennedy, with a single towel, Julia Bradford knew that the time she lived in that apartment would be very difficult. Ending the relationship with her current partner, Julia, tired of men decides to make a list so that the next time he gives up his heart is the right one, and Carter will help him to write it, although with the tension that both gives off did not go very far.

This story gets you all hooked, and when you think that everything is cool and that nothing can change, there is something that messes up the situation and changes it. It' s the story of two people who don't want to succumb to what they feel, but with moments that become very intense.

Her lips are like a whole new world, begging to be explored, urging me on to learn everything there is about them

Carter is a character who at first I thought he was a different person than he was, but then he changes, even more, thanks to Julia, and all that his relationship entails. This story is not typical of my brother's best friend, and everything cliché, on the contrary, has a very pure feeling, and many moments that change the protagonists throughout the book.

    “Just kiss me already, Carter.”

Jasmin also adds a very crucial moment in the end that with good news will make you change from tension to a very sweet moment, without forgetting those moments that destabilized the couple.

Oh my gosh yet another book by Jasmin Miller that hit me right in the feels:)!

I loved the book and the two main characters Carter and Julia just fit together and their chemistry is red hot wow.

Julia, Oliver (her brother) and Carter(Their best friend) have been a tight friend group since childhood, doing everything together. There has always been an attraction between Julia and Carter but non of them acted upon it because of their friendship but also because of Oliver.
A big tragedy in their lives happen and Julia leaves and withdraws from her old life.
Some years later she ends up at her brothers house after a really bad breakup and finds out that Carter lives there too. Julia figures out that in order to find a husband she has to make some changes to her life and she asks Carter to help her. She knows that it will never be her and Carter because he is convinced that he will never marry so she also makes a husband checklist.
Let’s just say a very steamy weekend in Vegas changes everything but there are still some hurdles they have to cross before their happily ever after! Will they make it in the end or will everything fall apart?

I really truly loved the way they transformed throughout the book and Carter really did everything in the end to make her believe in his love for her. The grand gesture is amazing and I couldn’t help but sighing and wish that I was her;)! He is amazing, swoon worthy and an all around good guy and she is damaged, but resilient, tough and such a sweetheart. Their banter is fantastic and creates so much tension between them.
The characters of Oliver and his girlfriend Cora are both amazing people even though Oliver stirs up some drama.

I can definitely recommend this book if you like a sweet and funny book with lots of drama and steam. A great friends to lovers romance.

I got this book from The author Jasmin Miller in exchange of an honest review.

It’s official Jasmin Miller’s books just get better and better (in my humble opinion)! Seriously, I enjoyed her first book, but I have LOVED her last two!

Let’s start with Carter – YES PLEASE, I just loved that the basis for this book was a solid friendship, I really need to read more of this kind of trope. I loved that he adored her before he loved her. That may sound strange, but he was so invested in her well-being and her as a friend, that crossing the line into love was completely realistic!

Jules, well it’s been a little bit of a rough season for her. But coming out on the other side, she realizes that she needs to make some changes for not only herself to be happy, but also to snag the man of her dreams – enter the list! She was blessed to have such a support and a friend in Carter – the mega crush has always been there, but she just has never allowed herself to go there!

Some books make you happy and leave you feeling full of joy and this is one of them! I love the ease of love that Carter and Jules have, this is how it should be in real life, sure you have issues that come up, but having a love like this, makes those things easier to bear!

If I haven’t made it clear I LOVED Carter and Jules – I just get all swoony thinking about this! READ IT, READ IT, READ IT – that is my recommendation! And one of the best things about Jasmin is that she gives you not only wonderful epilogues, but amazing bonus chapters!

Thank you to Jasmin for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

  • Donna

Jasmin Miller only gets better with each book! This book will give you all the feels. My heart was gushing by the end. So many sweet moments! Don’t get me wrong, you still get all the flirty and dirty with this story along with the love, laughter, tenderness, sadness and sweetness along with such a great message.

Julia has just been dumped by her boyfriend because she had too many pounds and her job was not all that great to him. She lands at her brothers door but it’s his best friend and her long time friend, Carter that answers the door. Carter has an outlook of being a forever bachelor after watching his mom in and out of relationships. I loved watching Julia and Carter flirting and seeing that fire ignite between the two of them. These two had the best relationship, already knowing each other so deeply, going from friends to lovers.

I loved this message that Jasmin Miller has in the book. It needs to be a constant reminder in life.
“We don’t know what we have until we lose it. Sad but true. How great would it be if we could actually treasure the people in our lives the way they deserve to be treasured before it’s too late?”

Loved this book. I would recommend it to everyone.

    The Husband Checklist

    4.5 stars

    😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩

    I didn’t want this to end 😭😭😭

I was obsessed with the older brother’s best friend trope for a while when I was a teen but this one takes the cake (and the icing and the toppings and the damn tray it’s on to be honest) by far!

It was perfect. Perfect characters. Perfect chemistry. Perfect plot. Perfect transition. Perfect execution. Perfect writing. Everything was perfect and I’m so incredibly sad that it’s over.

I contemplated quoting my favorite parts/scenes in my review but it would literally be the entire book and I’d basically spoil everything so....

I’ve been dragging out the ending in hopes that it would become longer and I could avoid the excruciating moment of having to say goodbye to Julia and Carter 😭😭😭

But alas it has come to an end, and it’s the most bittersweet feeling of being so happy to see such a beautiful story conclude in the best way possible and so unbelievingly sad that I won’t have Carter and Julia’s story to look forward to anymore.

I loved every single second of it and my only issue is that now it’s over (if I haven’t made that clear enough 😂).

I cannot wait to get my hands on more Jasmin Miller books as this is an author that was just added to my autobuy list!
