What did i just read? Gosh!
The human desire & the passion to attain it, is immeasurable..
"Hate is not the opposite of love. Because when you hate someone, you still feel something for that person. So even though in a negative way, you are still attached. The real.opposite of love is indifference. No connect. No attachment. You don't feel anything."

Have you ever moved to a new place & felt uneasy, alone with no friends? Do you trust people easily? Does watching #realcrime stories also leave you with an uneasy lingering feeling & puts you on high alert?

This read sure gave me goosebumps! 🤯I could have never imagined the end, even in my wildest dreams!
For a second I started thinking that maybe Shanaya was obsessed & had some issues. Watching too much #netflix does that to your brain where you look for signs of multiple personality disorder🙈.
The typical behaviour of Ashish got me totally against him for being a male chauvinist but then him sending over the police & telling Shanaya to get a life convinced me with his side of the story. Maybe because he was so far away from home, he wanted his wife to be sane & talk about them & not about a neighbour she's paranoid about.
But Shanaya's gut instinct that something is wrong, always caught my fancy..🥵
Later when Shalini refuses to acknowledge Sahil's visit, is when I was convinced someone, most probably Nehal is trying to put her in a spot..
But the end, the reason, the cause & the strength that Shanaya showed, was a total surprise & a great end to the book.
I loved reading this short #crimepatroldastak kindof story!
A great script!
It can be devoured in a single sitting like i lost my sleep just to find out the who- whose around it🙈!

✳️This is my second book from Ketaki Patwardhan Nirkhi and now she has become one of my favorite authors in the thriller genre. 'The Mysterious Neighbour: Do you really know her? ' is a mystery thriller that gets readers hooked on the book right from the very start.✳️
✳️Shanaya, Ashish and their son Vihaan have now moved to Alibaug after staying a long time in Andheri. Shanaya was not at all happy to move to this place since she had many friends back there. But when Ashish went to Japan for his work related purposes, Shanaya became extremely bored.
When the neighbour Nehal and her son visited Shanaya's home, she was delighted to have a new friend from this new place. But Nehal doesn't seem like a good friend, she's mysterious, and it made Shanaya uneasy. Inexplicable things are happening at home and it causes Shanaya to suspect Nehal. But things seem odd. Is what Shanaya suspects true or is she out of her mind?✳️
✳️OMG, what a good read it was. Even though it was a short story, I had planned to finish it within two days. But when I picked up and started reading, I couldn't stop. It was that much engaging. The language was very plain and was very easy to read. Her narrating style was so good. I really don't want to spoil anything, So I'm not gonna say much about this book. But I highly recommend this book for all thriller lovers.✳️ -

BOOK REVIEW
This book revolves around shanaya who becomes a full-time homemaker because of her son.
shanaya transferred with her husband Ashish shifts base to Alibaug after having stayed in Andheri for more than six years which makes her upset. She is very happy when she meets a neighbor, Nehal, who has a son just two years younger than her own, Vihaan as she won’t feel bored. She met nehal when Ashish went to Japan for training. But soon strange and weird unexplainable things start happening. What are that strange things?
I love the narrating style of the author. The language of the book is lucid and this is a fast-paced read. I almost predicted the ending but the style of her for reaching the end is incredible.
I recommend this book to everyone who enjoys short thriller stories. -
The writing style is so lucid and fast paced with a short story line that it keeps you engaged till the end and you just can't keep your eyes off even for a second.
Author has significantly framed all the incidents in such a way that along with the main character you yourself keep on wondering what and why exactly all this is happening.
Somehow by the end the story gets predictable but the end is put up in very interesting way and with a proper twist.
I actually started with the book just to have a little glance over it but ended up finishing it within 1.5 hour.
That's how I liked it! Recommended for all mystery lovers and anyone who is looking for a perfect short thriller read. -
Cover page: The cover of the book is a face of a beautiful girl with aqua green eyes. And eyes are the first thing that you notice about the cover. To know what I am talking about you have to read the book. So great job on the cover.
Review: The Story is about, Shanaya the main character whose husband shifts his job from Mumbai to Alibaug and for training had to leave for Japan leaving his wife and son at a new household. What later transpires will leave the reader on edge.
The positives in the book are the way its narrated. The story will continuously leave a question like what is happening and just like the character we will also keep wondering is it real or a figment of our imagination. Unpredictable ending. And loved the ending part where the side character’s perspective is mentioned. Though the book had negative parts with such a story, I could look over.
The negative in the book is editing issues, typos, and spelling mistakes like instead of doting husband doing husband is mentioned and such small mistakes here and there.
Overall a thriller read.

Good suspense thriller
The story revolves around Shanaya and her family. Shanaya is facing a hard time after moving to Alibaug. Her husband suddenly goes on a trip to Japan for 1 months for official reasons, leaving her and their son alone in this new place. She feels alone with nothing to do the whole day when suddenly a mysterious woman, Nehal claiming to be her neighbour comes to her doorstep one day with her son,Om.
She feels elated to have found a neighbour but her instincts and vibes tells her differently ever since she laid eyes on Om. There's something strange about him.
Suddenly there are some things going on around her that makes her feel frightened and questioning herself if she is losing her mind.
This book is a fast paced short story you can finish in one sitting. The story was really mysterious from the beginning and keeps you hooked till the very end. The language was simple and lucid. The author has layered the events very precisely and although the story becomes predictable in the middle, I loved the climax, it was very unpredictable and just the right amount of twist needed for the story. Overall, its a great read from suspense lovers.

Considering reading a mind thrilling story? Then this book is the perfect choice for you.It will show you a good time. You will feel that you're Sherlock Holmes, the only difference would be that you don't know what's going to happen next.
Shanaya and her family, which includes his son and husband, have moved to a new place. She is looking to find some acquaintances because she feels bored in the new city. She has a big house but no friends to talk to in the neighborhood. One day she meets Nehal and her mysterious son Om. She becomes obsessed about Om in a negative way. A lot of fishy stuff goes on after the day she met Nehal and her son.
There are instances where I kept reading for more and more time and I didn't want to stop. This book was a great read to me. The story is kept simple in words but very thrilling. You will hold your breath while reading this one. While I was in the middle of the book, I realised that the story was much more than I expected from the book.
The author has done a great job in writing this and it takes a very creative mind to frame something so addictive and interesting like this. I would highly recommend this one. -
A very intense and mind-blowing thriller.
The Mysterious Neighbour follows Shanaya who is furious when her husband Ashish relocates to Alibaug after spending more than six years in Andheri. Shanaya gets bored, especially when Ashish goes on an official tour to Japan. The environment is calm and beautiful, and the bungalow they stay in is nice and luxurious, but Shanaya gets bored. So she's overjoyed when she meets Nehal, a neighbour with a kid Vihaan, who is only two years her junior. She believes she has made a wonderful friend, and that it will now be simpler for her to acclimate to her new surroundings.
Strange and incomprehensible events begin to occur soon after. And Shanaya is forced to wonder if there is a plot against her or if she is going insane.
This was a very thrilling and engaging book. I was hooked from the very beginning. The chapters are very short, easy to read and will keep you engaged . The author has done an amazing job in making this domestic thriller full of plot twists that honestly I did not see any of them coming. The characters were very complex and so was their life story.
I really enjoyed this book .Full of plot twists .Highly recommend !! -
✨ PLOT: The protagonist Shanaya reluctantly moves with her family to Alibaug. Her spouse left for Japan soon after shifting to this new home leaving Shanaya and Vihan, their son, alone in the new town.
Shanaya befriends a neighbour - Nehal - who lives with her son Om. But there is something that doesn't seem right with this neighbour. Shanaya could smell something fishy.
Who is she? And what does she want?
✨ OPINION: A very short read of just 90 pages, fast paced and a page turner, I would recommend beginners to read this book. The language is very simple and the climax of the storyline is appreciable.
I completed this book in single sitting. If you don't like thick books but still want to read a good mystery fiction, this is it then.
Go for it!! Recommended!! -
The Mysterious Neighbor by Ketaki Parwardhan Nirkhi is a thriller story that revolves around Shanaya who becomes a full-time homemaker because of her son. Shanaya is left alone with her son as her husband is busy travelling for work. Boredom and a knock on the door by her neighbour brings a change in Shanaya's life.
What happens to these two neighbours once they start interacting? Why are things taking a weird turn? -
Shanaya's neighbour Nehal is not what she seems to be. Shanaya doubts about Nehal. Her activities are weird. Things happening around her is mysterious and more suspicious. When Nehal is around Shanaya, her behaviour is strange. Suspense and mystery happens. Her situation gets worse and it made bad enough to get her into trouble.
On her own she tries to find about Nehal. Will she find the mystery of her neighbour?
When the secrets get revealed, it ended up being a simple suspense thriller. I was expecting more. I was hooked from the start but the mystery reveal and the ending was just ok for me. The language was easy to read.
If you are looking for an easy and short thriller, this is an easy pick. -
Ashish and Shanaya with their four-year-old son Vihaan were living in Mumbai. Ashish’s transfer to Alibaug and followed by his business trip to Japan had left the mother-son duo in boredom. That’s when the neighbour Nehal and her son Om comes to their rescue. Then why is Shanaya being restless and what’s this fuss about her hunch?
The plot is simple and engaging, and I liked the fact that the gut feeling of Shanaya is in sync with that of me as a reader and that she is acting swiftly according to her thoughts.
Although at some point, the story starts being predictable the thriller is fair enough as a short read. -
A quick, fun, and engaging crime thriller

Shanaya and Ashish have just moved to Alibaug with their four-year-old son. This move is proving to be really difficult for the stay-at-home-mom Shanaya who is used to the fast-paced life of Mumbai. When she befriends her neighbor Nehal, she finally feels that better days are here. However, Nehal's behavior is quite strange. Things take a turn for the worse when Ashish refuses to believe her claims of Nehal stalking her or trying to break into her house. Are her fears and doubts real? -
Finished it in one go. Suspense thriller with an exciting and fast-paced story. The characters, narration, the turn of events, everything was good.
But it badly needs an editor and some time. Some scenes really need to be elaborated and described well along with grammar and punctuation marks. It needs proofreading too. It feels like the basic storyline was put out on paper and published.
If you can ignore all of this, go for it. -
A book that helps you sustain the excitement throughout the read. The plot of this book is all about how life have changed after the meeting with her new neighbour. They say, life takes a different phase with different places.
With the narration and vocabulary the author had done a great work in keeping the readers enthusiasm from the beginning. Absolutely loved the book. -
There are couple of spelling mistakes..
Couple of spelling mistakes and few words were used incorrectly..
Story was good but predictable..
Would read few more books and maybe have more reviews then.
