  There are some terrific things about this book - its accessibility for young girls, the way it talks about menstrual hygiene in the context of using cloth pads instead of disposable ones that harm the planet. But the way she handles teens who may be queer is really disappointing. Likewise, the lack of any discussion about gender fluidity is troubling because for teens who reach menarche but who don't feel female in their bodies there are a whole host of issues that come up and that could be dealt with in meaningful ways.

  I loved it. It helped to know what to expect when I am growing into an adult. It's easy to read and follow and the drawings make it simple and fun to read. The book is very colourful.
