The problem is that no one knows her father’s name or where he lives because Sally was raised by her mother as a single mom.

The two become an odd but loving pair and soon can’t imagine life without each other. And the world seems full of possibilities. Until Sally’s father is found.

Will Sally stay with Gem or go with the father she never knew?

This is a wonderful, heart-warming story about Sally, a little girl who has lost her mother- she's passed away. She goes to live with her great aunt Gem Morgan who's like a grandmother to the little girl. They get along splendidly even doing a day at the mall shopping. This is not like anything Hannah has ever done before. So far as anyone knows, the little girl Sally does not have a father. Until one day when Eddie, her mother's low-life boyfriend shows up at Gem's. Gem hopes and prays that he is not Sally's father, for she surely doesn't want to have to turn over the child to him care for. I won't tell you more for that would be a spoiler and spoil the joy of the story. Check it out for an entertaining read that you will enjoy.

Grab a cup of coco, a warm fire, and a box of tissues and enjoy this Christmas Story. Good things come in small packages so they say. Anita Roger's "Sally & Gem" certainly proves that point in two ways. First, it's a short warm hearted story about a person who takes in a small child during the holiday season. I won't say much more other than the true meaning of giving comes from the small child. It shows that even a small things can make the world a better place. It's another great read from Anita Rogers

This is a touching short story. When Sally's mom dies and her dad is not known, Gem steps in to help. Gem teaches little Sally about life, dealing with sorrow and finding you can laugh again despite the heart ache in a well written short story.

Just in time for the holidays, Anita Rodgers has brought us a lovely short story about love and the ways kindness can help both the giver and the recipient blossom. "Sally & Gem" is a Christmas story offering the reader the possibility that sometimes, by taking risks and moving outside one's level of comfort, happiness abounds. Gem, an elderly woman who lives alone and appears content with this arrangement, reluctantly discovers the delight in fostering her six year old great-niece. Their chemistry is immediate and through their relationship, both Gem and Sally are enriched in ways that will change the courses of their lives. This is a free download on Kindle. A sweet, enjoyable read from a talented author who writes mystery and thriller novels, as well.

The hope and the tight bond of family that Sally & Gem create, despite the problems they encounter, speaks to the heart. The conviction that no one is to old to change and open their heart to love is an endearing thread through out this story.
Tis the season for all these things afterall.
