Life has gotten a bit dicey, lately. Which is a major understatement. My normal gig as a demon slayer turns extra deadly when a group of them attacks my home. I manage to take them out, but not before it’s too late. My sister and I are hit by the deadly fire veins curse. We have only days to find a cure, so we’ve got to split up to cover more ground.

I’m lucky to have access to Declan, one of the most powerful fallen angels in the world. Not to mention, one of the hottest. One that I’m falling for faster than I like. But he’s the guy with the skill to help me find the cure, and I need all the help I can get.

As we hunt for the cure to the curse that’s killing me, we uncover that threat is far greater than I’d even realized. There’s a mystery here, one that could tear my whole world apart. I just need to figure out what it is.

Demon Curse is a fast-paced urban fantasy adventure starring a kick butt heroine, a powerful hero, and whole lot of humor.

Loving this little peek at heaven and believe it or not with this book never have I typed truer words ! Aeri is a fabulous heroine and it was such a twist this time to discover that she's the one in trouble. Of course she has Declan the sexy Fallen Angel on her side but as her nullifying power makes for a painful experience for Declan this is not a straightforward romance. Still where there's a will theres a way apparently but meanwhile the couple need to track an Angel who has definitely been up to no good !
Ok I admit that sometimes some series can get a bit predictable but with these books I never quite know what to expect. There's always a story that moves at breakneck speed but the twists along the way keep me happily turning the pages. As much as I like that Aeri feels grown up I just have to take a moment to appreciate Declan and if you thought Roarke or Ares were magnificent specimens then you will be overjoyed by this latest hunk of love ! Add in magic, action and even genuine historical buildings to further fuel the readers imagination and I can honestly say for me this was the best book by this author in a long time.
This voluntary take is of an advance copy and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair.

I’ve long passed reached the point where I don’t know what to say about this author’s books that I haven’t before. They are worth it, so I’ll probably just repeat myself! LOL! I first have to say that this is my favorite series so far of the ones I’ve read by this author. Aeri just speaks to me more than the other MCs, and I didn’t think that would be possible. In this one, Aeri and her sister are cursed by a fatal demon curse, and she and Declan must go on a quest to find the cure. I just loved this book as I have all the books in this series. The action is just so intense from page to page, and it doesn’t let go until the end. This series is a little more adult than her other series with more detail in the love scene than seen before, but it is still pretty tame if that is something you are concerned about. Great book which I highly recommend! I was provided the e-book which I voluntarily reviewed.

    This is so good!

Thank fates that the next book is already available! I re-read all other Dragon's Gift books before starting this Sorceress series, and it really helped with keeping all the characters and storylines straight. All of them really good, and Mordaca's series is coming out now. Read them!

    I devoured this!

So much action. Love these characters. There are some great friendships as well as a little bit of romance (nothing graphic though) plus the revelation of the mastermind behind these attacks. I’m having so much fun with this series. Now it’s on to the final book.

    Recap:
Aeri just got back from demon hunting and was eating with Mari when suddenly, the black alarm blared, meaning there was an attack, especially in the well of power. They went down there and saw four demons tried to burn away the water in the well, and one of them attacked them with strange fire. They managed to kill them all and found the same medallion they found in the previous demons when they realized that the demons put some curse on them and not even their strongest antidote could heal them. The curse put fire in their vein and they only had a few more days. They went to the Grimrealm to find some answer from the Weeds, because those medallions showed that he was the one who summoned the demons, but they met with their jailer from their childhood, so they killed him. They also found the Weeds already dead, with heart missing from his chest and a feather of a fallen angel under his body.

Mari would meet with Del to track down the crystal from the previous Oraxia demon while Aeri went to Dechlan to ask him about the feather. He had some fancy technology that could detect that the feather got off from its owner two days ago and that the owner's power was some electric touch. They went to the angel's headquarter in the sky and showed the High Council the feather but they got very scared and only muttered a name: Acius, and immediately sent them away, saying they would handle this themselves. Unsatisfied, they tried to find more information by broke into angel's archive only to find that a book about Acius was was bloated with ink.

Dechlan ripped the book and they both escaped back to his place, used some potion that could undo the ink for a few moments, snapped a pic, and somehow figured out that their next clue was somewhere in SuperLouvre (idiot and cliche). Around that time, Mari called, said she and Del had been captured somewhere near water and then the communication cut off. They went to the supernatural side of Louvre only to find a picture with Acius face on it and a building behind him, snapped a picture, and escape again. Aeri used google to find the building and found out it was some kind of supernatural alcatraz where they held demons and rouge mages and decided they should break in.

They went to the nearest city because they couldn't teleport directly, stole a boat, and sneaked in by swimming through a pool and out from a well (this book was absolutely stupid. Why would anyone build a well for salt water?) and accidentally found the admin office. They looked for the list of prisoner's name and found Acius name (I thought they went there to rescue Del and Mari?!). They got captured but easily escaped (as usual), found Acius' prison but of course it was empty except for a ghost that was smitten at him. Neither Wally nor the spirit that lived there could communicate with the ghost so Aeri created new magic that allowed her to communicate with her. The ghost said that she died when they both tried to escape and that the Acius had a resident somewhere in grimrealm's cemetery.

Then guards came and they both returned back to the darklane to tell the firesouls about this. They infiltrated Acius' place that was full of his cultish member, managed to rescue Del and Mari, were about to drink the antidote when Acius came and attacked them. When he saw Aeri created new magic to weaken him, he found out that she was a Dragon Blood and asked her to be his queen and taking over Magic's Bend so he could turn it into a place like Grimrealm. Of course she refused and overpowered by others, he escaped along with some of the member of his cult that was still alive.

These books are heavily formulaic, so if you’ve read anything else in the series you know from the start that the curse and kidnapping aspects will likely be solved by the end of the book. Statues, of course, will always come to life and attack our heroes. Every aspect of the plot will require some sort of task or trial that risks the heroes’ lives. Some of the stars of the previous books will, of course, come back to help our main characters.

This time we get to meet the angels, visit a prison for supernaturals, and go back to Grimrealm. Aeri’s new nullification magic makes Declan feel ill when she touches him, but it’s so damn handy that she can’t consider getting rid of it (if it’s even possible). She must learn to control it so that she can be with Declan.

Note that Aeri’s books are a little more “adult” in nature than the previous books. There’s slightly more swearing, the main characters are a little less squeamish about killing bad guys, and there’s slightly more detail leading up to the off-screen sex. It’s still very mild.

I’m still enjoying these books, but I’d like to see a bit more surprise and variety by this point. There’s so little in these books that is unexpected. At least we always know we’ll get a cute romantic relationship, plenty of adventure, hard trials, and great fight scenes.

Apparently I am in the minority as to how I feel about “Demon Cursed.” Move reviewers have given this read 5 stars; however, Although I enjoyed this read overall I have some major problems with it as well.

First and foremost, this book has non stop action just like the others in the series. The problem with this is there is very limited time to deal with ongoing issues and questions that the author refuses to acknowledge or address. Here is a prime example, who are Aeri and Mari’s parents? What happened to them? Why were the Aunt and Uncle left to raise and abuse them? Here we are one installment prior to the end of this series; yet, these questions continue to persist.

Next, pages and pages are devoted to fight scene after fight scene yet less than a paragraph is devoted to Aeri and Declan’s hook up. Really? Talk about anticlimactic! We waited all of this time for them to be together and in the end it’s disappointing. If Ms. Hall doesn’t want to graphic sexual content I can respect that but she needs to learn how to write some sizzle.

Finally, what this book lacked for me was balance. A balance of socialization with the characters, attacks from villains, character backgrounds and action. If this book has these things it would have been amazing instead of good. Sorry guys but the ridiculous amount of action scenes spoiled a potentially spectacular read.

    Trust in friends

Aerdaca and Mari are enjoying supper when a alarm goes off. Someone is in their house. They race to find out and can’t find out where they came in. They race to the pool to find demons shooting into the pool draining it. They are fighting one demon but 3 others are concentrating on the pool. They are both struck by a blast from the demon and they know they need to conjure their lightening magic. They defeat the demons but know something is wrong with them. What ever hit them is a curse.
The race is on to find a cure and they need to enlist the help of the Firesouls.
This book was fast paced and I found myself holding my breath when things got sketchy. Amazing job again by Linsey Hall.

This is a fast paced story – and this time, Aeri and Mari are hit with a curse – and it will kill them in days if they don’t get the antidote in time. Problem is, as they are searching for clues, Mari is kidnapped. And not just by anyone, by one of the oldest and most powerful of the Fallen Angels, one who is pure evil and very powerful. Aeri will need all the help she can drum up to save herself and her sister.

This story doesn’t let up on the gas, and it’s full steam ahead. Declan and Aeri are getting closer, even with the nullifying curse inside Aeri. This is a fantastic series that keeps ramping up, and the 4th and final book is out and I am looking forward to reading it, although a bit sad that it will be over.

    Action packed

This book starts off with action and continues in the same vein throughout. Action and a quest define this book. Getting to see inside the mind of Aeri is enlightening and fun. She really struggles with trust and letting people get close. She wants to be closer to her friends, and to Declan, but it is like she doesn’t know how and needs to learn how to walk that path. The quest in this book is twofold: one, to find her sister who was taken, and, two, to find a cure for the curse that she and Mari had been hit with. Without Mari at her side, she must rely more on Declan and her friends.

Aerdeca is having trouble coping with all the new magic that she's had to create. It's beginning to get the best of her. But when she and her sister, Mordaca, are hit by a death curse called Fire Veins, they are told there is no cure to it. Nothing except the antidote from the creator of the curse.
Will she and Mordaca be able to find him before it's too late? The clues lead them to Supernatural Alcatraz but even if they can break in, will they be able to get out again?
    A totally recommended read!

Awesome fantasy that is a romantic suspense. Ms. Hall makes her characters so enjoyable and entertaining. She adds characters from previous books so that readers can see their interactions and therefore learn more about the characters. Declan is a fallen angel who is helping Ari to save her and her sister’s life. There are demons, mages, monsters and other fallen angels that makes this story of the main characters into an action packed book. I received a complementary copy of this book and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by Ms. Hall especially in this series.

Ooh we are getting closer and closer to the end. Will the true nature of the Blood Sorceress sisters be revealed? So we know at least Declan knows Aeri's true nature/power, but when demons break into their secret lair (for lack of a better word) both sisters are given the fire blood curse. Now they have three days to find an antidote AND whoever sent the demons to curse them. Turn the hourglass because there is so much going on because let's not forget we still do not know who from Grimrealm is out to get them.

Honestly, having read and reviewed all the Dragon's Gift books that have been written so far I doubt I have anything original to say other than I love them all, and this one is a great addition to the series. There is a lot of similarity in the each of the stories (ether spell, familiars, etc.) but they are all so different as well, and there are new places to explore, new types of supes to discover, and as always, an adventure to be had.

    Love

I’m finding I really enjoy Aerdaca’s story. Each one reveals a little more of her past, and each one brings a little more romance to her story. Learning to open up and allow relationships and relying on friends has been so hard for her, this adventure has really brought out an unexpected nature that I never saw coming. Don’t lose out on this adventure!!! So many angels… I need more!

    Great Book

Lindsey Hall has written another exciting installment in the Dragon’s Gift Series. Our hero has just foiled the evil plans against Magic’s Bend but more danger is on the horizon. She must figure out who is behind the attacks and then defeat them to protect the ones she loves. There is a lot of excitement and action. And some good love-interest stuff.

    Fantastic

Wonderful book! As usual, it wasn't long enough for me but then, even if it were 30 chapters, it still probably not be long enough for me. 😄 Linsey will keep you wife awake with all the action and suspense in her books with a little sweet romance in between. Highly recommended read.

Mari captured, both dragon bloods cursed, a race to find a cure

The person behind the attacks in previous books has been named. Unfortunately he is also a Fallen Angel and Aeri, along with Declan, will have to run all over to save Mari/Mordeca from his grasp and undo the curse. With the help of the FireSouls, maybe it will actually work out

    Another awesome story

Linsey, once again you have brought the feeling of the joy to my heart because of the ability to read. I've always loved to read and taught our children and have passed the love of reading to our grandkids.
I look forward to starting the next saga of the Dragons Blood.

I always find Linsey Hall's books to be intriguing and enjoyable. Every now and then, one is particularly good, but I always know I'm going to enjoy the book. Some stand out more than others, but in general, they are fun quick reads. I prefer her Shadow Guild and later works to these series, but they are still enjoyable.

    Great read

As always another wild and crazy ride by Hall. These are some of the most exciting, action packed books that I have ever read. Now that Aeri's true self is shown she is my favorite character even though all of them are fantastic. I can't wait for the conclusion.
