A Secret Baby Second Chance Romance

He’s huge, growly, and takes what he wants. And oh yeah, he left me pregnant with his son seven years ago.

Jace and I were sweethearts during high school. He was the proverbial bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks: hardened, fierce, with rough, strong hands, perfect lips, and a devastating need to claim.

The man was huge.
Irresistible.
… and all mine.

But Jace left our small town to seek his fortune in the big city, leaving me pregnant from our steamy encounters stolen at midnight. Now he’s back and the minute he sees our son’s blue eyes, every cell in his body turns insanely possessive.

He’s back to take what’s his.
To claim what belongs only to him.
To brand me as his with a searing kiss.

And god help me, but I want to give him everything. Jace isn’t going away because with two fierce words, the man has made this much clear: you’re mine.

Craving an alpha AF, growly bad boy with a sinful stare and a taste for curvy women? Love secret babies and single dads with a crazy-as-hell possessive streak? Then click READ for a book that will spontaneously combust in your inbox. Reader beware. Not responsible for Kindles that shortcircuit.

On their last night together they sleep together and make plans to be together after graduation. However Haley's father learns about them and stops them from having any contact. Jace tries to reach out to Haley but when he is stopped by her father he gives up and leaves not knowing that she is pregnant. Haley tries to find Jace when she is finally allowed out but its too late so she resigns herself to a life with her parents in her hometown. What she didn't expect was to become a prisoner because of her pregnancy. Now years later when Jace reappears he is stunned when he sees Haley and a little boy he knows is his son. What will Jace do about his son? Will he rescue Haley and their son from her father?

This is an amazing story about a second chance at love. The chemistry between them is sensually sweet. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

An enjoyable & intriguing secret baby/second chance romance. I found the story-line and plot fascinating, it kept my attention & the characters were interesting, and quite realistic with their emotions & expectation.
There is: two high school sweethearts/lovers (Haley & Jace) with plans to move after graduating but then Haley’s cruel & abusive father (Herb Jones) interfere in their plans. Jace comes back home after several years & discovers that Haley has a son (Jamie) & he is the father.
There is: some twists, drama, suspense, memories, manipulations, threats, misunderstandings, heartache, discovery, choices, apprehension, escape, surprises, anticipation, happiness, contentment, love, steamy scenes & a well-deserved Happy conclusion.

I really don’t even know how to rate this book. I mean the writing isn’t bad but the storyline had big plot holes. It was just too much all the way around. I gave it three stars but it’s more like 2.5 to be honest.

Simple and repetitive heroine. Editing errors. Impractical and unrealistic.

“I have a massive black eye. It’s like twice the size of my actual eye, and ringed in an ugly bluish-green.
There are other bruises all over my face. My face is a swollen, discolored mess.
There’s more pain around my torso. The bruising is even worse down here. I touch my ribs and wince as pain lances through me. I’m sure they’re cracked. This wouldn’t be the first time my dad has messed up my ribs. He must have done more than just punch me. Did he beat me with something? A broomstick? A rolling pin? It wouldn’t be the first time”.

“I’ve had to take some time off from school because I’ve been sick, and my dad’s been really strict, and I haven’t been able to have visitors and whatnot, so I was wondering if you know where he is?”

“Well, I don’t see that I have to tell you nuthin’,” she drawls. “If you don’t know where my brother is, then I’d say that Jace doesn’t want you to know where he is.”
I nod, trying to look amenable.
“That’s true, but like I said, I’ve been sick and I’m just trying to get a hold of him. Even if he’s not here, maybe a number, or an email address. If you could just put me in touch, or even tell him that I came by, I’d be so grateful.”

She sounds rather pathetic pleading for information :::

“Who is that?” comes a croaky sound. “You got visitors, Kels?”
“Just some girl looking for Jace. “Same as usual”.
    “You Haley?”
“Yes. I was wondering if you could put me in touch with Jace? We lost contact because I had to take some time off school, and I haven’t been able to get a hold of him since.”
“your son and I are dating, but again, I’ve been sick. I had to take some time off and my dad is really strict, and I couldn’t have visitors …”
“You best get out of here,” she says between wheezes and gasps. “If Jace wants to see you, he’ll find you. Otherwise, I know my son. If all you’ve got is nada so far, then you have your answer.”
“I totally hear you, but you see, there’s been a misunderstanding. Jace thought … well, my dad was really mean to him and things didn’t go well, and … I’m not sure what he thought but I have to see him,” I say helplessly. “I have to tell him something.”
“My son is a strong man,” Corinna pronounces on a wheezing breath. “if Jace wants you to know something, then he’ll tell you himself, your dad or no dad. There’s no stopping my son,” she says. “I raised him right.”
“Of course, of course,” I stumble on the words. “But you see, I need to tell him something, and not the other way around.”
Corinna’s about to say something else, but then Kelley interrupts.
    “Jace is gone
“You hear me, girl? My son is a man. He ain’t going to be scared of no yelling. If he wants you to find him, then he’ll let himself be found. Git,” she says, shooing me away before turning to close the door.

Seven years later Jake resurfaces :::
“I’m not going to break down, I’m not going to break down,” I mumble to myself. “Everything is going to be okay. I’m going to be okay. It’s all okay.” He probably thinks I’m a lunatic for talking to myself. Right. I have to prove I’m okay without him. That I’ve moved on.
I open my eyes and focus back on Jace before nodding firmly. There’s no need to have a panic attack. It’s just my ex-boyfriend whom I loved with all my heart, and he’s back after not talking to me for seven years. Not to mention, our son is running around behind me completely unaware that his father’s here and – oh sh**!
“Um hi, I just – I’m surprised to see you. It’s been so long.”
    “Haley, what’s going on?”
“Not a whole lot is going on,” I say brightly. “As you can see, I’m still in Lenville, living with my parents.”

Interaction between her mother and herself was awkward and fragmented.

This book, in my opinion, was a bit weak. I'm not sure why as a grown woman Haley let her and child be locked up in a home. A home, where the boy had no toys or any fun. Why couldn't she leave? Did she not have a job or source of income of her own. That bothered me...I don't understand why she stayed. Why subject your kid to that? There was no real connection between her and Jace either. Honestly, this book fell flat for me. This is my honest opinion in exchange for a review.

This is a fast read with a unique plot. Haley and Jace were high school sweethearts from opposite sides of the tracks. Due to circumstances beyone their control and a big misunderstanding, they were separated for seven years. She became pregnant when she lost her virginity and raised their son under the controlling thumb of her father. Jace comes back to rub his success in her father's face only to discover a little biy sho looks exactly like him.

Parts of the story are far-fetched but I didn't expect this to be a super realistic read.

My issue and the reason for 3 stars is that I feel like a teen boy wrote this. Some of the comments the characters make are so childish. Like they "remained true to each other all those years" even though he slept his way around Manhattan. Then the word choices...he emptied "gallons" of sperm into her "twat" or "snatch". Not exactly sexy word choices. Plus he has no problem double dipping from back door to front, which makes me cringe.

It's not a terrible book but it can use some TLC.

This book is so bad that its a must read. You heard me right. If you are in a slump and need something that is so horrifying that you will giggle...this is the book for you. The plot isnt bad but man...the descriptions....wow! Full of fun talk about anal tonguing, squirting, cum dumpsters galore!

A few bothersome points: 1. she cant drive, she then drives a car, then she cant drive again and apparently is so stupid, she cant even push a gas pedal. 2. At the end, she is pregnant...apparently 3 or 4 weeks. Thats not a thing. And I confirmed, they are going off of a full 40 week pregnancy so we arent doing gestational age. With that being said, counted from last period...at 2 weeks "pregnant", you arent pregnant...that is when you conceive....2 weeks later you miss your period...at that point you are 4 weeks pregnant already. This girl went to the doctor a week prior to find out she was pregnant so nope....she isnt 3 or 4 weeks. Pregnancy errors drive me insane!!!

How immature do you have to be to write something like this?
So seven years after high school he becomes a managing director in some sort of an investment field and he’s a billionaire with his own private jet......really? And all that without college education mind you!
And then after seven years he goes back to their old home town, he sees her playing with her son, he immediately recognizes that it is his son, and she tells her son that “Jamie this is your father” just like that! Of course two minutes after he meets her he asked her to come with him to New York where he lives now....

    Really who wrote this s***?!

  • Wendy Livingstone

Jace and Haley were high school sweethearts, who had to keep their relationship secret from her father. When Jace leaves town, he leaves Haley behind heartbroken and pregnant. Now 7 years later he is back in town and when he sees Haley and her son, he knows he is his. No spoilers; this is a definite must read for all, you will not be disappointed! This is a well written story which had me intrigued and hooked throughout, and I look forward to reading more from this talented author, whose work I recommend for all.

"Hard meat", "elastic" (referring to his girlfriend), "steaming snatch", "beautiful brown buttonhole", "wet twat", "circling her pleats", "ejecting gallons of semen into her tiny receptacle", "huge pole", "lash after lash of virile semen finding its way deep into her fertile fields", "my sphincter gives way"... Never mind that Jace gave up so easily when searching for her, never mind that he was with loads of other women while he & Haley were apart, never mind that Haley came across as a doormat... I. JUST. CAN'T. with the vocabulary used throughout this book. *face palm*

  • Laura

From the male POV we have his "virile semen" finding it's way to her "fertile fields".

In the beginning, they're in the H's truck. And it is clearly stated that the h has no license or permit, and has never driven. And some day he might let her drive his truck. In the epilogue, that day happens, 7 years later (they were separated). And it is clearly stated that she still has no permit/license, and this is her first time driving. But back near the beginning, she DROVE HERSELF, IN HER CAR, to his family's house looking for him.

  • Lonnie

While it's a great story line

I struggled with the errors. First you say she can't drive then she drives then she can't drive again.

Now the story is good. You have them emotions that was nice but you didn't give the reader anything to hold on to to make them memorable. Other than him having a big dick and her being fertile. Don't get me wrong, the story line was cute I just wish there had been more to the characters.

When a second chance romance is well written, it really makes the book well worth the read and this book is definitely worth reading! The plot was well planned and the characters were so well developed that as I turned each and every page I felt like Haley and Jace jumped from the pages and pulled me right into their story as it effortlessly unfolded!

  • Misty Goan

An enjoyable well written second chance baby romance. This engaging storyline kept me interested with drama, suspense, intrigue, its action packed, includes parental abusive, love and forgiveness.  The characters are interesting,  realistic, and have great chemistry but are from different worlds which makes for an enjoyable second chance romance.  I voluntarily reviewed this ARC.

  • Tapoya Quarles

    Love the storyline

Great read! Just wish it was more to read maybe a few years into the future to see how they were doing with this being his first (second) baby and that he get to be there for all the experiences this time around and also if he reconciled with his mother & sister and if they got themselves on the right tract.

  • Sancia

I felt like this book was rushed. It was fast paced and, the characters needed a little more time to build up. The story line was great and everything but it was so fast and rushed, so I didn’t get that feel where they were thoroughly brought to life with their situations. The steam was 10/10 though so that’s a plus 😉

  • Gladys

This was such a fun second chance romance. I loved the chemistry between Jace and Haley. The story was entertaining and quickly paced. Some drama and emotional tumoil are combined together with some sweetness and heat to create this delightful read. This is my candid, voluntary review.

  • Elle

It wasn't that exciting to read and kind of a bore. The characters weren't really believable and the dialogue sucked. I wont be reading anything else from this author. Thank goodness I read this book for free and didn't have to pay for it.
