Reread: October 29th, 2019
It's 10 days later and I still have Kazimir and Em on my mind! Now that's a sign of a good author! So a reread I needed and fast! I love this deadly couple and can't wait for "Dirty Minds" to drop!
They're Back!
Hero, Kazimir (the fierce and deadly Lion) and heroine, Emily (his mouse and deadly sidekick lady love) are back and still so in love and running it in "Dirty Hearts"
but.... Hell's bells, Kenya Wright left us readers at the very edge of our seats with another ... you guess it---
I'm marinating my words for more verbiage in my venting without spoilers review but I'm still so screaming
when will this deadly but erotic couple get their true HEA!

****re-read again...damn this whole series just gets better and better. Reading it all over again is just freaking awesome... Kaz and Emily are about that life. I freaking lurrrrvvvveee it******
Wooooohooooooo!!!! I freaking Love KAZIMIR AND EMILY! BOOM!!! This couple is astonishingly awesome. Picking up from their last book, Emily and Kaz need to reestablish substantial ground from the betrayal of Sasha and Luka. If you have read her other series, The Butcher and The Violinist, you will find the stories interweaving. In this edition we get to see Kaz and Emily's point of view. I have to say this about Kazimir, I felt him. I felt him in every core of my being. He is intense and deadly. He is secure in him being King of the Bratva and he gives no quarters. He is very much who he is and he loves Emily with a fierceness that will burn the whole world down, Lol. Damn but I love that man! Emily is still such a bad ass. I love her to life!!! Great characters, great world building and even more suspense. For those of us who have read Jean-Pierre and Eden's story we know that some serious killing is going to happen, Lol, but there is so MUCH MORE to come and I for one, CANNOT WAIT!!! A FANTASTIC AND FABULOUS READ! Great job, Ms. Wright!! Never stop writing!!! 5 MYSH, LION, ROCKET LAUNCHER, STARS****** -
The ending was pure gold 💕 can’t wait for the next book!! It feels like I’m watch action movie and I love it

This book has left me very disappointed.
I can't get over that Kazimir cannot find loyal people to be around him that he was to beg people to be by his side.
What is up with Misha not burying his father or answering his phone!!!? It was almost like people around Kazimir did not take him very seriously.
Also could Kazimir please put his dick on hold for a few minutes and check on his war heads and access codes.
It just seemed as if Kazimir's priorities was solely on Emily and having sex with her ALL THE TIME!!! that his duties where side lined.
I just could not get over someone getting into their bedroom twice without anyone seeing anything or noticing. COME ON if Kazimir was so feared and such a scary dude, this would not have happened at all. It just showed me how incompetent his men are and they are that way because Kazimir has no control of them!
There was just so much going on that needed Kazimir's attention but it seemed he just could not focus on anything other than having sex AGAIN with Emily. I was losing focus on the story as it got so boring.
Oh THE BEST was in the Russian bathhouse!!!! these 3 dudes walk in shoot Kazimir's guard in the leg and talk down to Kazimir and he does nothing!!!! YES Kazimir is one feared and scary dude...nah!
The last part of the book bothered me a lot. Emily was supposed to be this fierce fighter that kills and can take on men twice her size, yet she was not able to escape her kidnappers or fight them off. So she shot the one guy in the leg, why not shoot to kill?. mind you there where only 3 of them in the room!!!! oh watching them have sex and they did not know this.
How does 3 men come onto your hotel floor kill everyone and you not know ????? Yet Kazimir had guards in the hotel room outside the door and on the balcony as well?????..............See incompetent. -
I want more Mysh and Lion
Dirty Hearts was good and what I was waiting for. It gave more depth to their love story. But, I feel a lot about Emily's kidnapping was already covered in the Butchers and Eden story. -
(3.5/5) that ending was not fucking funny.

4.5 🌟 read anything by KenyaWright
If you liked him in 1&2, you're going to love him in 3.. with a set-up for a #4,. Not so much a cliffhanger if you're familiar with the author, and I was happy to revisit the Butcher and other previous characters...
And who doesn't love Emily.?
Great writing, dialogue, humor, action, sex.. Took away half a point for the cliffhanger and unusual typos...(2)
Nice setup for some new books with international antiheros!
Must read. -
Cliffhanger. Cliffhanger. Cliffhanger.
I started to read this series because I thought the series was complete with this third book ..at least on these characters..however, that is not the case. The author has decided to stretch out the story with another book. This book dragged with more than half having to do with smexing and not truly advancing the story. The first 2 books were great; this book is okay. Even though those books were enjoyable, they were also a bit drawn out. By the time the author gets through with this story, it will cost approximately $20 for a story. Really? In addition, I bet there will be a book on the other characters. This story should have ended with this book. -
I love this series

Enjoyed
After reading this book I felt as if I read it before. If you have read Sonata then you will understand what I mean. It's telling the story on why the Lion and the Mouse was in Paris in the first place. Overall I still enjoyed the story. -
So MAD Right now
I'm so mad right now having read all the other books I excitedly waited for this one but it is like a Cliff Notes-review...Where is the rest of it! I almost would've rather waited until the rest of the book was done before you release it. Geese I'm so disappointed! -
Ugh Kaz + Cliffhanger *Spoilers
Ok I definitely want to read the Butcher and the Violinist just to see what this Eden idea all about. He already is messing with Emily so I don't think a truce can be made but I'd figured that Kaz and Jean are a lot more similar when it comes to their lovers. If only Kaz would listen to Em. Am I the only one who doesn't want Em to be pregnant technically anytime in their world wouldn't be a but now is DEFINITELY not the time for that, maybe 4/5th into the 4 book would be a good time? I should say I like Maxwell but I don't like being in his POV thus I'm glad that we didn't get his POV at all in this book although his POV did serve a purpose in the 1st 2 books. Whoever is messing with them must be someone on the inside but it is werid that Misha is also in Paris around the time that Eden was supposedly kidnapped but if someone is a traitor I would be surprised if they set up Misha to make him look like the culprit. Based on those decapitated monkeys and chimpanzees I have a feeling that's it's someone who doesn't like powerful WM (Misha, Kaz, and possibly Jean-Pierre if his in love w/someone black or half black) with someone black, I wouldn't be surprised if they think they're ruining the "bloodline" thus trying to get rid of them. I wouldn't be surprised if someone from Misha's camp is working against them, afterall when the Harlem Kids arrived at Uncle Igors territory people spat at their feet and looked at the 3 black people with hate. I wonder if they know about Ava? Anyways I think I should read TBTV since the timeline of events seems to correlate. -
Rockets
This book was definitely a page-turner especially towards the end the beginning was good but the end left right off with Jean Pierre's Eden story which lead into the lion and the mouse so be where you are going to be in for a full ride...I love the lion he's so masculine and dominant but he has his soft side two I can't wait till the book continues, I hope it out soon!!!! -
20 Plots - No Resolution... NOT ONE!
So, I really like this series and this author. Book 1 & 2 were really good... BUT this one here... not so good. I really like the characters and the series. But I felt like I just wasted my time reading an entire book with half a story. There were 20 different plots and story lines less than halfway through the book and not near one of them had a resolution. I get cliffhangers, but this wasn’t even that.
Kaz and Em literally spend the entire book on vacation avoiding and ignoring the world crashing down around them. Not one issue was resolved... Nothing... I felt like this was just a steamy in between story to take up space in the series.
I’m kind of in my feelings about the time I spent reading this book, but again, bc I really like the start of the series, I will probably read the next release. I just hope I won’t be as disappointed as I am now. -
I liked this book, but not the cliffhanger lol We kind of know what is going to happen in this story between the Mouse and the Lion if you already read Sonata, the second book in the series about Jean-Pierre and Eden. So that whole debacle with the things going down in Paris takes up most of the book. I did enjoy the parts where Ms. Wright really digs into the relationship and love between Kaz and Emily. It's passionate and all-consuming and I LOVE reading about couples like that! Like they truly were made to love each other. It's intense! Anyway, overall, I liked the book and how it tied in with The Butcher and the Violinist series and look forward to the next installment in this continuing saga.

TOSS UP
Here's my Succinct Review -
If I could give this book zero star I would! I’m not sure all these five star reviews are even reading the same material as me. I’d like to start out by saying that I read the first two books and moved on to this one but found myself unable to get even 50% through the book before I had to delete it off my kindle.
I’ll break this down the best way I can.
First the main leads, to be honest with you I hated Emily. In the first two books I genuinely enjoyed her character and hoped that I’d see some good development from her but no Emily only get worse. 1) Her super woman complex, I get that this is a work of fiction but even fiction must make sense. Emily went from being tough and reasonable to annoying and superwoman in a small amount of time. Suddenly she doesn’t fear anything and runs head first into battle with no explanation for how she (a small woman) could take down men twice her size. 2) Emily seems to think she knows everything despite her being from a whole different world. Yet she fits right in, no culture shock, no real challenges with moving across the world to a place that she doesn’t know anything of. Also, As someone who has been learning languages her becoming damn near intermediate in Russian in less than a month is a joke, especially since I can’t see how she gets the time to do studying because she is either under Kaz or getting herself in trouble. 3) How completely irresponsible she is with her body from letting grown men fight her and knock her around to letting Kaz constantly sleep with her without protection. She claims to be smart and independent but she is so dumb. She really did take the “strong black woman thing too far.” And she claims they need to start using protection but she never actually tries to take steps to protect herself in that way. Then she has the nerve to talk about she might be pregnant but how, Rocco??? How are you throwing yourself into battle like that when you might very well have a baby in you?!?! It’s gross that she thinks of her possible pregnancy as an afterthought. I have so much more to say but it’s getting long already.
Anyway, I don’t like Kaz either toward the middle of the book I started to question his authority and whether he was really as capable as he claimed to be. He claimed to own countries and see everything but he’s managed to be fooled by someone in his own house twice. He shamelessly brags about his power and reach but he doesn’t even know what’s going on with his own men? It’s laughable. He lacks self awareness. He talks about the poor and how unfair it is for them yet he lives in this massive mansion with a helicopter and gorges on excessively expensive material things. He does nothing to help them while complaining and claiming he feels it’s unfair for them? That might just be the most realistic part of the book…the delusions of rich privileged people aren’t only reserved for reality. Not only that but he underestimates threats too much for me, like if someone is threatening the one you love wouldn’t you think 🤔 “hey maybe I should look into all my possible enemies ?” Not Mr. Kaz the stupid lion though because those threats aren’t that big of a deal. For a guy with that type of power I expected him to be a little more calculating and cunning. I really thought this was his opportunity to prove himself but boy him and his mouse continuously fall short. Dnf
