Record Of Lodoss War (The Lady Of Pharis # 2) Reviews

My rating for this is for the gorgeous art of Akihiro Yamada alone (because I can't truly admit to remembering anything of the story - where as the art has been greatly influential to me as an inspiration to honing one's own skills). Master of line, and composition, light and shadow. I only wish CPM Manga had continued the larger size format of the original vol. 1 edition, to give justice to all the details.

That was fantastic. I recommend this to any fantasy/D&D fan. I know Record of Lodoss War can seem daunting to get into because of its scope (kind of?) but this two volume set is a great stand alone story once you get the groove of the world. It's worth reading for the gorgeous art alone. Pick both volumes of The Lady of Pharis up if you come across them, they're not easy to find anymore!

Record of Lodoss War is a story about heroic fantasy, set in a timeless world of knights and elves, gods and witches.
About the young knight-in-training. In his trining he meet with an elf name Deedlit and the knight name Parn.

The art is gorgeous, a throwback to the days of old Boris Vallejo and Bome paintings, and Heavy Metal covers. The layouts are confusing and leave much to be desired, though I'm not sure if it's a casualty of the localization process.
