As a kid I only owned the first book (which I still have), and borrowed the others from the library. As I was searching for used copies of the series I found out the national library of Norway has scanned them!
While I know the entire first book by heart, I probably only read this one once, so I didn't remember it (as it's probably closer to 20 years ago now). That made reading it now more enjoyable! Anton has to face several problems to keep his friendship with the vampires hidden from his parents, as well as not being eaten by the vampires' family. Really cute and fun! -

For years, I've wondered what happens to the friendship between Rudolph and Tony, and now I finally get a chance to find out! And, as I am very pleased to say, the second book in the series has a LOT more going on, and explores a LOT of cool new concepts to the vampire lore and experience!
Also, what I was particularly surprised about is that it isn't so much Rudolph and Tony's relationship that we see developing, but Anna and Tony's relationship. I think from the first book it's clear to readers that Anna has a crush on Tony, but because most of the book sets up Rudolph and Tony's relationship, Anna's sidelined for that. Let's just say that in this book...that's no longer the case, and leave it at that, shall we?
Loved it, keeping it, will be reading the next book in the series as well, see how far I can go. Wheeeeee! -
This series was mt favorite growing up! It got me hooked on all things vampiric!(not ghastly stuff though)

Anna, die nie eine Schule besucht hat, und Anton verstecken sich in Antons Schule und haben dabei das folgende Gespräch:
" " Aber hier sind ja gar keine Rohrstöcke!", rief sie enttäuscht.
"Rohrstöcke sind nicht mehr erlaubt.", erklärte Anton.
"Nicht?", rief Anna überrascht. "Aber Lumpi erzählt immer ..."
"Heute gibt es viel bessere Methoden", sagte Anton.
Anna überlegte, dann rief sie: "Gummiknüppel?"
"Zensuren.", antwortete Anton.
"Zensuren?" Anna machte ein ratloses Gesicht. "Wie geht das denn?"
"Ganz einfach.", sagte Anton. "In der Schule bekommst du für alles Zensuren. Wenn du gute Zensuren hast, darfst du, wie meine Eltern immer sagen, eine "weiterführende" Schule besuchen und kannst später einen guten Beruf lernen und viel Geld verdienen. Wenn du allerdings schlechte Zensuren hast ..."
"Aber das ist ja ungerecht!", rief Anna. "Wenn einer nicht so lernen kann ..."
"Eben.", sagte Anton. " -
Hach es ist einfach so ein zauberhafter, schöner Gruselspaß. Antons Abenteuer mit dem kleinen Vampir und seiner Schwester Anna gehen weiter. Es gibt allerhand was er in diesem Band für Rüdiger tun muss, denn dieser hat Gruftverbot. Es war einfach herrlich, wie Anton dafür sorgt das seine Eltern ja nicht in den Keller gehen und sich um seinen besten Freund kümmert - auch wenn dieser nicht immer zeigt, das er das auch zu schätzen weiß. Außerdem nimmt auch Anna wieder eine Rolle ein und es gibt einige Szenen nur mit ihr und Anton. Sie gefällt mir einfach total gut.
Außerdem sind auch Antons Eltern super. Klar, vor allem seine Mutter findet immer wieder seltsam was ihr Sohn so veranstaltet. Aber trotzdem sind sie nicht zu streng und lassen ihm seine Freiheiten. Trotzdem sind sie auch präsent und glänzen nicht die ganze Zeit durch Abwesenheit.
Vor allem lernt man aber auch ein paar Vampirregeln kennen und das erste Mal scheint Anton wirklich auch mal in Gefahr zu sein, von einem Vampir gebissen zu werden. Das alles wie auch in Band 1 schön Kindgerecht aufbereitet, mit ein bisschen Grusel und schöner Vorleseatmosphäre.
Katharina Thalbach liest grandios und ich freu mich schon sehr darauf bald Band 3 zu hören. (Und hoffe inständig es werden noch weitere Bände vertont.)

Anton hat einen höchst merkwürdigen Freund. Das meinen jedenfalls seine Eltern, die zum Glück keine Ahnung haben, wer dieser Freund in Wahrheit ist: ein kleiner Vampir! Rüdiger ist sogar ein ungewöhnlich netter Vampir, der Anton (fast) nie Angst macht. Trotzdem –– so ein Vampirfreund kann einen schon in Verlegenheit bringen. Zum Beispiel, wenn er daheim «Gruftverbot» hat und deshalb umziehen muss. Aber ausgerechnet in Antons Keller?
Meinung
Jap, ich konnte dem zweiten Teil nicht widerstehen und musste ihn mir einfach holen und sofort durchlesen.
Neben bekannten Charakteren, tauchen auch einige neue Charaktere auf, welche dem kleinen Anton durchaus einen Schauer über den Rücken jagen. Zudem liegt ein kleinwenig Liebe in der Luft. Antons aufkeimende Gefühle für Anna, die er noch nicht so ganz einschätzen kann, sind wirklich süss umschrieben.
Im Allgemeinen war die Geschichte wieder sehr liebevoll gestaltet. -
The Little Vampire (AKA My Friend the Vampire) did a fantastic job of introducing readers to the core set of characters, and this entry greatly expanded the world created by Angela Sommer-Bodenburg.
The Vampire Moves In is more ambitious than The Little Vampire and just as exciting to read again approximately 30 years after finding it in a bookstore for the first time. This series is perfect for children who have an interest in the macabre and adults who collect children's lit. -
La continuación del libro mejoró bastante, ya que nos muestra más acerca de la cultura de los vampiros y explora más la relación de Antón con la hermana pequeña de Rüdiger, Anna .
Este libro me ha ayudado a comprender mejor porque está serie me gustaba tanto cuando era niña, y en definitiva los seguiré leyendo. -

Very cute story just like the first. Relaxing and fun for Halloween. I love the friendship between the boys, who seem not even like each other very much but are best friends anyway. -
The Little Vampire Moves In is the second book in the Little Vampire series by Angela Sommer-Bodenburg. I did not read the first book in the series, which might have helped me know about each of the characters and the particulars of this world, but I do not think it had much of an effect of my read. Rudolph, the little vampire, has been banished from his family’s vault because of his friendship with humans. He is now living in the basement of Tony’s apartment house. Tony is afraid that his parents will find out. While Rudolph is being very unhelpful, the scent of vampire seems to be growing and a neighbor complains about the smell.
The Little Vampire Moves In is a neat little story about a normal boy, Tony, and his not so great friend, the vampire Rudolph. Tony is a bit of a loner, and likes his monster movies. But, for the most part he is a typical boy. Randolph is a vampire, more than a bit self centered, and smells. Yes, apparently vampires literally stink, and seem to be proud of it. Randolph's younger sister is a much more sympathetic character, as she tries to resolve everything and keep the peace. I liked the moments when Tony is introduced to more of Rudolph's home life and the vampire lifestyle, especially a couple action scenes.
I was left feeling a bit luke-warm about The Little Vampire Moves In. I think the series has a certain charm, and might appeal to young readers that are monster obsessed, but it is not a series that I would go out of my way to find or recommend. Although, I have a niece that has a particular love for Germanic authors, and she might get a kick out of trying to read this series in the original German.
The series was originally written in German and translated to English. At this point there are a total of twenty books in the series, and while the first was made into a film at one point, not all have been translated into English, yet. -
Me gustaría haber conocido y leído esta serie infantil cuando era pequeña para saber cuales hubieran sido mis reacciones ¿me habría gustado? Después de primer acercamiento en el 2016 con el primer libro del Pequeño Vampiro, decidí dar una oportunidad a esta serie ( Ya saben! nunca es tarde...) y bueno si bien el primer libro en resumen es un acercamiento general con ese escenario fantástico donde un niño común y corriente se hace amigo de un pequeño vampiro. En esta ocasión ahonda un poco mas en esta gran amistad y una primer aventura, de varias que tendrán.
Si bien el primer libro me gusto, este segundo tengo mis dudas. Todo el libro lo vivi con una frustración constante, como si yo fuera Anton, no solo viviendo en constante angustia por evitar que descubrieran que en su sótano tenia un vampiro, si no también el hecho de que a Rüdiger no parecía importarle del todo los problemas que estaba ocasionando, y su falta de interés en TODO, ni se diga!
Por otra parte, no entiendo muy bien que clase de relación se daría entre Anton y Anna pues se supone que aun son ni��os, dejando de lado la obviedad de que uno es humano y la otra vampiro. Creo que sus acercamientos corresponden a alguien un poco mas mayor, no se si solo sea cosa mía o alguien mas piense lo mismo.
En general es un libro muy fácil de leer para una persona adulta, para un niños yo lo recomendaría para los que están entre 9-11 años. Es divertido y te tiene a la espera de lo que pasara, aunque después de tantas peripecias la autora corte de tajo, te de la solución y el gran final muy a prisa. -
Definitivamente uno de mis favoritos al crecer. Lo descubrí en un closet abandonado en un viaje a Xalapa y decidí darle, como adulto, otra oportunidad.
Es un libro obviamente bastante ligero, un buen cuento para dormir. Y gracias a esta app me enteré que es el segundo de una serie larga de las aventuras de Anton y Rüdiger. Espero un día poder conseguirlas todas.
Súper recomendable para niños.
