Coincidence or something darker?

College student Ivy Montclair’s dating service adventure goes terribly wrong. After being confronted about dates she’s never experienced, she hires an identity theft expert whose investigation leads to a mystery and a hunky tattoo shop owner.

When Marcus Brolin meets his apprentice’s lookalike, he wonders if Ivy will see through his “bad boy” tattoo artist image.

Despite her tough exterior, Rogue Betencourt intrigues software mogul Tristan Macklin. His company, Identity Bank, is a raging success, but Rogue catches his interest because she seems to see more in him than dollar signs.

Rogue has no use for a rich man with big-time goals. She cherishes her independence. Yet there’s something about Tristan that tells her he has integrity and heart as well as brains.

Together, the four of them set out to discover the truth. As the mystery unravels, both couples join forces and search for the true identities of their hearts.

Identity of the Heart is the first standalone novel in the Hidden Hearts clean and wholesome contemporary romance series.

If you like wholesome stories, deeply drawn characters, and delightful twists and turns, then you’ll appreciate Mary Crawford’s engaging tale.

If you like sweet, sappy romances with lots of big gestures and some mystery thrown in, settle in with this book because it’s got a double dose of everything! Actually a triple, if you count… well I won’t spoil it :) .

So I came into this series late, at Book 2 and while it’s completely not necessary to read them in order, I do still tend to want all of this world and these characters I can get. In this book we get to meet Ivy, Rogue, Mark and Tristan, primarily. All will appear more throughout the rest of the series in their friends’ books, so it’s cool to sort of see more about how they met.

If you’re reading this series, you know what I mean about it being nice to get the full scoop on the aforementioned characters, as well as Mama Rosa and Isaac’s pairing and Isaac’s partnering up with Tristan… a lot goes down in this book.

It’s a really cute story, although small bits of it aren’t the most plausible, they aren’t anything I can’t just accept for the sake of losing myself in the book and enjoying it either.

Crawford thoroughly develops her characters and when they inevitably leave you wanting more, it’s all good because everyone seems to get their own book eventually and the group is tight knit. She’s done a good job creating this world- and it’s a fun one to get lost in.

    4 stars.

This review is unique in the fact that I was presented with the incredible opportunity to proofread for Identity of the Heart. I was able to learn some of the inner workings of proofreading and editing, and pinpoint the areas that I need to improve on. I have read through this story half a dozen times and to my sheer amazement, I was NEVER bored nor reluctant to jump right back into reading and re-reading. That being said, I cannot adequately criticize or write a review based on the editing. I can however review the story and the delivery of the story. Without further ado.... Mary Crawford is beyond a doubt a very talented story teller. Every time I read Identity of the Heart was like the first time and even though I knew what was coming, I still bawled my eyes out. Every single time! Mary writes in a way that doesn't allow much room for the thought of what may happen; Identity of the Heart is rich with consistent happenings. There was always something pertinent to the plot line or relationships unfolding, and never any redundant fillers. I had so much fun reading this book that I want to do it again, and again. This book is a little zany and unbelievable, but the characters are dynamic and feel very, very real! They felt so real that I would actually believe the outlandish tale they share. Did you know that 15% of the proceeds for this book go to Habitat for Humanity? Did you know that Mary Crawford is a Disability Advocate?

    Wonderful story

Once again, Mary Crawford has written a wonderful, realistic story about characters that aren't perfect. I couldn't put the book down. I love these books, because they don't portray characters that are perfect. The book kept me intrigued due to several unexpected events and had a satisfying ending. I look forward to reading more books in this series.

However, once again, there were several editing mistakes, mostly in the form of run on sentences and comma splices. Also, the book covers several months in the lives of the characters, but it can be difficult to figure that out until you run across some mention of it within the story. There is no indication of the passage of time at paragraph breaks or chapter breaks. It would be easier to follow if there was some indication of the passage of time at the beginning of a chapter or within the chapter when there is a break.

I would definitely recommend these books to anyone who likes realistic and sometimes gritty romance.

A truly sweet, humorous, amazing story of love

This story, when one tries to describe it, seems too convoluted to be true but comes off entirely plausible. How many of us, especially those of us "onlies," often felt as if we were part of some impossible " pair? " This was true for Rogue and Ivy. Add two incredible guys, Marcus and Tristan, 4 insane senses of humor, abundant wealth, burgeoning love, mystery and mayhem, and this enchanting story happens. Me Crawford is a true craftsman at capturing and portraying the many facets of the heart.

    Too Good to Put Down

WOW! Identical twins separated at birth, their parents lied to and a stolen identity.

When Ivy contacts Tristan Macklin about possibly having her identity stolen, neither realized the amount of emotional turmoil they were going to uncover.

This series is great as I'm binge reading and received the notice that I had to return some of the books! Mary Crawford discusses many different aspects of different types of life in this series ~

Wow. Just WOW. Mysterious, magical and moving. This story has it all. With moments that are so out there yet could happen to you, that you are hooked! I hate when people give things away in reviews, so I’ll just say I loved the special language aspect. It made me think of vampires and shifters mates I’ve read about only way cooler.

I almost stopped reading this book after one chapter. It didn’t seem like something I would normally read or enjoy. I don’t even remember why now. It ended up being a really sweet (if completely unlikely) story. It was even clean enough for me. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

    Beautiful

Make sure you have a couple of tissues when reading. Two college women set up dating profiles on a website, but who knew it would change both their lives for the good and actually help them find true love without the site.

    Different

This was my first book by this author and it’s definitely different from what I’m used to but overall I enjoyed it. It took a bit to get into a reading groove but I will read more by this author.

I loved this introduction to the series. It was incredible and intricate. I was super pumped that we got more than one love story between these pages. I cannot wait to read all of the future stories in this series.

Twins separated at birth is only the start of this complicated romance
Throw in a tattoo artist and a computer geek then see where it leads!
    An excellent story well told

Identity of the Heart (Hidden Hearts Book 1) by Mary Crawford.
It is an interesting story about 2 women who did not know they are related and their journey to their Happy Ever After. The story is told from various points of view. For me this book did not work. It was too contrived. It was ok 2 stars.
