When Tony returns to the Hedonists' clubhouse, he tells himself to stay away from Cane Winters. He knows there's more to the man than the shallow hunk-of-muscle Cane portrays, but Tony refuses to insert himself where Cane's made it clear Tony isn't wanted.
When a twist of fate introduces Tony to Karl Bruder, Cane's powerful cousin, Tony swiftly becomes embroiled in the hidden side of Cane's life. Soon the two men realize the full extent of Bruder's nefarious deeds and begin to work together to bring the man down. This means putting their lives on the line just when their feelings for each other become too strong to deny--which is just the advantage Bruder needs.

Cane and Tony
After being away for months Tony is back at the clubhouse. Trying hard to avoid Cane.
Cane was loud and clear he doesn’t want him so Tony has to live with it.
Cane’s life is complicated, working with his criminal and cruel uncle, he knows he has to keep everyone away from himself.
When Tony got the opportunity to work for that same uncle, Cane knows there is trouble ahead.
How can he keep people at distance and also protect them?
“I want in there,” he said”
“I want you in there”
I love this series. Always good worked out, always sexy, rough, raw and also gentle and sweet. This one was less raw and had a good proportion of suspense.
Besides Tony and Cane, we meet also some of the other Hedonist members. Protective as ever over their family/members. Thank goodness for that!
The mother case didn’t work for me, it was less convincing than the illegal part. Thát part was nicely worked out. The plot was really well done. The whole buildup was excellent!
The feelings and encounters between Cane and Tony were delicious.
All together a captivating story even the fact this story was different than the others from the series it still worked for me. A great addition to the series. I’m looking forward to the next installment. I hope it is with Nick and JM. Bring it on :) -
Biker Cane and hacker/artist Tony, hotness at last !
This one is an “edge-of-your-seat" thriller, with twists and turns, plus we have great anticipation, and sizzle in the sexy times.
Big biker Cane works at the Hedonist’s porn studio,
and Tony is on his mind.
Tony, a website designer
is handsome blonde guy.
Cane and Tony had a one-nighter a year ago, but the memories are vivid, for each man.
We learn their pasts, and what they are faced with now, which includes Cane’s slimy brother, Karl, a real dirtbag.
While their new relationship moves forward, so do the plans for several biker clubs to assist the take down Karl’s horrid underlying businesses. Cane hates Karl, and Cane wants his biker “family” safe.
It will be Blaze with the Hedonists and a few other biker clubs to go meet up and spoil Karl’s horrific deal. Tony is abducted and placed in a near death situation, and we see a unique, different twist of events.
Great epilogue.
Enjoy !

Tony and Cane were relatively unknown characters to me since they only appeared in the previous book about Caleb and Axel. Told from dual POV, the story features two men who resist their feelings for different reasons, a bevy of club brothers willing to put their lives on the line for them and understanding that family is more than blood.
Cane pretends to be someone he is not. He is tired and lonely but it's the only way to keep his loved ones safe. Only one person ever got under his skin, and since then it's been harder and harder to keep up the facade. When circumstances force Cane to tell Tony the truth, it starts a chain of events that finally frees them both. No man is an island, and Cane through trial and error learns to trust his judgement and his friends, learns to rely on others to help him out. I loved how attentive he was with Tony. When they finally got together, it was sweet and oh so s*exy.
Tony lives with guilt everyday. The one person who should always be there for him never lets him forget his past - his mother. Add to that a rejection by a man he can see a future with, and his humiliation is complete. But even when he tries to move on, he can't help but yearn for Cane and what could be. When a lucrative job offer is impossible to refuse, he comes face to face with his man and the secrets that he keeps. Both men finally talk, and their reunion couldn't be hotter or sweeter but everything is not so simple. In their case their families will not let them go literally or figuratively. I liked Tony. He was always there for Hung or Nick, he was so perfect for Cane. I am glad to say that Cane helped Tony to get free from his mother, the leech, who should have been b*tch slapped! What a despicable woman that tormented her own son!
There was plenty of suspense, a bit of subterfuge and a lot of action that kept me involved with the story till the end. There were twists and turns I didn't see coming. I loved the tension build up when everything was about to go off. It was rather well done. Even the villains were well written, and their downfall therefore was all the sweeter. The premise for the next story was mentioned as well, and I can't wait to dig in! I absolutely loved this story and recommend it! -
This was a solid 4 star read.
I was a bit afraid there would be lots of push and pull between Tony and Cane, but I was glad there wasn’t. We’ve had some push and pull in the first two books and since Tony and Cane apparently had some animosity going on, I was sure this would be filled with lots of relationship angst. But I was glad to see the author didn’t go that route.
Tony ran away from the club for several months and no one really knew what was going on. But now he’s back, and everyone is hoping he doesn’t feel the need to run again. Especially because it looks like something is still going on between Tony and Cane.
Tony went and fell in love with Cane, and he was sure they could have something after they did that amazing porn shoot together. But when Tony seduced Cane and they spent an amazing night together, Cane dismissed Tony the next morning. Tony couldn’t handle the pain so he left.
But now that he’s back he knows he has to figure out a way to be around Cane without hurting.
Cane does his best to keep his distance from Tony, not because he doesn’t want the pretty man, but because he doesn’t want Tony involved in his life. Cane’s life is pretty much run by his cousin. His cousin who Cane is sure is not on the legal side of the law.
Cane knows as soon as Karl finds out he cares about Tony, he will use Tony to hurt Cane. But when Tony accidentally meets Karl and Karl offers Tony a job designing his website, Cane knows he has to protect Tony….
I’m not really a fan of biker books, and especially not books where the club runs a porn studio. But here it just works. What works for me is that these guys stop shooting porn as soon as they are serious about someone, and the porn itself doesn’t really play a big role. It’s all very well done here.
I loved how Cane didn’t hide everything about his life that long from Tony. He came clean pretty much once Tony got more involved. And that immediately cleared the air between them and that way nothing stood in their way of starting a relationship.
There was a good balance of some suspense while still focusing on the romance.
I really love this series, even though it’s not perfect. -
We finally get to Tony and Cane's story. They both have an awesome on scene chemistry for their porn production, but things didn't work out off screen and Tony left the clubhouse to lick his wound after being rejected by Cane. But now, Tony is back.
First and foremost, rest assured that there is no on/off page sex with OM. Cane has feelings for Tony but due to his situation with his shady family, Cane decided not to get personal with anyone. Now that Tony is back, they both tried to avoid each other as best as they could. However, things took a different turn when Tony ended up in the radar of Cane's cousin, Karl Bruder and Cane might just have to come clean in order to keep Tony safe.
Reading about Cane and Tony dancing around each other is as delicious as it is tormenting. Luckily, it didn't get drag out too long before Cane remedied it and they finally get together.
After finding out the shady and illegal business that Karl is doing, Tony and Cane together with the club decided to put a stop to it. Seriously though, I find Tony and Cane being quite reckless and I'm surprised that some of their hair brained plan worked out. For example, hooking up at the building that Karl's owned when they actually wanted to keep their relationship private. Talking on the phone, conveying secrets while in the vicinity. There are a lot of instances whereby I just have to roll my eyes at how naive they are. Maybe I read too much spy fiction and I took such things a bit more seriously. Anyway, I'm reading this series for the romance and not so much for the suspense. -
So far, this was my least favorite of the series. It was unrealistic in that there's no way that Cane wouldn't have gotten in trouble by the law by working with his cousin when it was all said and done. And the fact that they set up a sting without the help of the law was a bit ridiculous.
I guess I was looking for more of a hurt/comfort trope even if that's kind of been done a lot in this series. It seemed like that was what it was going to be from the previous books. -
This has been a pretty good series and I think I like this one the most so far. Tony getting pulled into the orbit of Cane’s cousin Karl sets up a suspense plot, which I always enjoy. It also serves to bring Cane and Tony together when Cane shares his concerns that Karl is more of a criminal than he thought. The amateur investigators have to bring in the club members eventually. A little extra angst is added for Tony in the form of his guilt-tripping mother. No connection to the events in the story but it provides territory for emotional connection as Tony and Cane share their background and history. Hung/Jeo and Nick are the focus of a subplot and developing the setting for the next book. The pacing for both the suspense and romance is good, keeping things interesting and easy to follow. I do get a bit lost in so many names and new characters peppering the narrative but I’m old. It’s a good book to escape reality and just enjoy a little adventure.

Can’t finish this one because of the human trafficking aspect. Nor do I want read about Hung (what a stupid name). I really do not like that character after he goaded Axel into hooking up with someone else. That actually made me stop reading the other book too.

Rebecca James' The Hedonist books are phenomenal. Book five, The Hacker and the Heart's Desire is a fantastic addition to the series.
Tony left his porn career and the club after a hot scene with Cane. Now back at the club, the two men remain awkward with one another. They have intense chemistry, but Cane won't allow them to be together.
Their story includes so much more than just a romance. There's human trafficking, which is a tough read. There's manipulation, family issues, and more. As they fight against Cane's cousin, there's a whole lot of danger and suspense.
Cane's background is tragic, explaining so damn much about the closed off man. And the two get closer amidst the danger and baring of souls.
The writing is fantastic, with an intriguing storyline, complex characters, and a great pace. Told in dual pov, the reader gets great insight into both men, as well as the strength of the MC club's bonds.
Iin the end, it's also a wonderful romance, as Tony and Cane finally allow themselves to be together. Oh, and yes, their are some steamy scenes involved.
The Hacker and his Heart's Desire is all around enjoyable. Rebecca James will keep you riveted with all the action, as well as plenty of twists and turns. -
What can I say? Tony and Cane's story is a fantastic addition to a fabulous series.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!
To my ratings:
A 3,5* is clicked with a 4* but in review marked as 3,5*:
5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile’ or ‘Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the the kids’ series
from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or ‘Liberty’ from Seth King),
it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books and Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series)
it's like an A
3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in
hospitals). I can recommend them definitively!
It's like an B+
3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader (2-3 times a year),
it's like a B
2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-reader (I wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok)
It's like a C-, D
1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolute NO-GO). It's like failure in the
whole line, dismissed, repeat the class -
eh inacreditavel kkkkkkkkkkk -
A brilliant read by Rebecca James the love was palpable it will keep you reading to the end of the series.

Good plot
This book was action packed with a good plot! I loved the characters and the heat was good. It was a bit of a slow burn. Overall, I enjoyed it and I am looking forward to the next book! -
Loving this series and The Hacker and His Heart's Desire is a great addition.
This book gives us the chance to find out why Tony left the club for several months to go travelling unexpectedly and the weird tension going on between him and Cane.
Cane has a great background in that he has family he'd rather not be related to. He's managed to escape and live with the Hedonists but still has to work for his cousin. He never expected to meet Tony and feel the way he does about the man. The best way to keep him safe? Push him away. Tony only knows what he's told and so he runs. Things go against Cane as Tony somehow ends up hired by his cousin and in doing so, brings the two men closer together and it creates this kind of secret spy mission that gets exciting and nervous as we continue through the story.
There's a definite connection between the men and the heat jumps off of the page whenever they act upon it. It's frustrating in the beginning because it's easy to read how much they want each other, even Cane, but he's determined to do the right thing and protect the man he cares about. I love how much other club members are still included in the books as we move through the series, the ones happily coupled up and those I suspect of having their own story in the near future. There's a lot of family love between all of the men showing that it's not blood that makes family. A fair amount of drama occurs across the story, between the MC's and our bad guy, Karl. He's perfectly written in that he could perfectly pass for an authentic business man but so many layers have you second guessing.
This book has gone in a slightly different direction than #4 (Axel and Caleb) with a bit more grit and drama regarding crime and exploitation, none of which happens on the page. I was drawn into the possible relationship right from the first page and delved deeper as the rest of the story unfolded. Definitely a recommended read and I am looking forward to #6 (fingers crossed for Jeo).
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review. -
Hard being in a no win situation alone
Poor Came trying to keep everyone at arms length so no one got hurt but Tony is all about helping him even if he is in danger get love could get you hurt great book -
Good story-line with wonderful characters create an engaging story. I really enjoyed Cane and Tony, they were both really likable guys and had such great connection and so much steam! This book made me laugh and made me sad, it is well written and the characters really find a place in your heart.
I enjoyed seeing so many of the men we have come to know over the previous books and seeing them again was wonderful. It really added depth to the story and i enjoyed the richness it added to the dialogue and action. i enjoy the dynamic of the club and love how it brings so many men together that we have a rich gathering of characters for future books.
This is book five in the Hedonist series and it can be read as a stand-alone. However i would recommend reading the whole series it has so many great stories.
I was gifted this book from the LesCourt Author Services and i freely give my honest opinion and review. -
The Hacker and his Heart's Desire is the fifth book in The Hedonist Series by Rebecca James. This is the story of Tony and Cane. It is filled with drama, danger, plotting and s*x. A fantastic addition to this amazing series.
The book is well written, told in the dual point of views of both main characters, Tony and Cane. We get a good understanding of both characters and their motivations and desires. The characters are interesting, and their interactions are hot and sometimes sweet. Even the supporting characters are fun to read about.
There was a good amount of suspense and action in this book. And the drama kept me reading, I could not put the book down. Very exciting read.
I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation. -
I enjoy this series and the men of this MC. I was intrigued by the dynamic of Tony and Cane in the previous book and I just knew that their story would not let me down.
Cane is walking a fine line between two worlds, his club world and his biological family. He knows his cousin is bad news, only, he has no idea how bad that news really is. He has accepted that he shouldn't let anyone get to close for fear that his cousin will ruin anything good in his life.
Tony is in love with Cane, this much is true. But he accepts the rejection the man throws at him. Tony is a good looking, smart nerdy MC member, what's not to love though? But the burden of a guilt his mom pushes on him is weighing him down.
These two men can't stay away from each other for long, and the passion and feelings ignite. There's lust, love, and danger. All things equal an exciting read!!! -
Tony and Cane have chemistry on the screen and off it, problem is that Kane has secrets, Tony left as he was embarrassed at having been rejected, Cane had to keep Tony safe so rejecting him was the only way.
This is the fifth book in the Hedonists series and the bikers are all popping in and out, as they take on the threat that is Cane’s cousin.
I really like this series, but this book is my favourite. I loved Tony and Kane as a couple, their attraction is so strong that they can’t keep away no matter how much they try. This book is full of suspense and intense moments, it can be read as a standalone but you get a better sense of how the gang work as a family if you read the other books I can’t wait to find out who’s story is next. -
I wasn’t exactly hooked from the first book I this series, The Biker and the Ballerino, but I enjoyed it enough to continue the series. I think I liked each book more than the last. This one was plenty packed with action, suspense, lust, and a slow-to-acknowledge true love(on both characters part). It was easy to feel for both, the hurt on Tony’s behalf but also understand why Cane tried to keep away. Tony’s mother was a real piece of work and I couldn’t wait to see him cut her off. While I didn’t see the FBI plant, the snake in the car was predictable. All in all, I was hooked and I can’t wait for Nicky and Hung’s book next
