Life as a professional swimmer comes with sacrifices, but they’ve never worried me. I’m used to life with little room for anything but training, eating, and sleeping.
Nothing more, nothing less.
When a son I knew nothing about lands on my doorstep—and a crazy but very beautiful nanny shortly after—my life is turned upside down. Allowing any change into my life could put my goals and dreams in jeopardy, and I’ve worked too hard and too long for them.
When I’m tempted to look beyond lap times and medals to bedtime stories and the possibility of love, I face one of the hardest questions of my life: is it worth the risk?
Fresh Meet (Kings of the Water, #2) Reviews

RATING 4.5 STARS
Fresh Meet is book one in the brand new series, Kings of the Water, by Jasmin Miller. This is a single father, sports romance and it is SUCH a lovely story.
Jace Atwood is twenty eight years old and is a competitive professional swimmer. His life is a very strict regiment of training and sleeping. He only does casual relationships. He doesn’t have time for anything more. But his life changes drastically when he discovers that he has a two and a half year old son, a son that is now motherless. Jace finds himself trying to learn how to be a father while keeping up his training. He needs a nanny. That’s how Emilia came into his life.
Emilia (Millie) Davis is twenty four years old and has recently lost her job. Her dream job is to work for a popular children’s program but in the interim, she needs a job. She loves children and when she is told that a single dad needs a nanny, it’s perfect for her.
Emilia’s connection to little Tanner is immediate. She’s just what Jace needed. She seems to understand him instantly and the little guy loves her. Jace and Emilia’s relationship was boss and employee at first, then slowly progressed to friends and more. The attraction between them slowly grew but both were reluctant to cross that invisible line between them. But as the trust grew between them, they couldn’t deny their feelings.
“He makes me feel wanted…like I’m enough. It’s simple, yet powerful.”
Emilia has never been enough to her family, the people that are supposed to be the most supportive. So she finds unexpected support and gains confidence with Jace. Jace, whose life has always been about his goals only, suddenly finds that his heart has expanded to find room not only for a son he didn’t know existed, but for a woman who has become so important to him. But can he keep up his strict training and achieve his goals while trying to be both a good father to Tanner and a partner to Emilia? Emilia’s life is still in transition, she has dreams of her own. Will it be possible for both of these two to reach their goals while pursuing what is developing between them?
Let’s not forget that Jace had no experience at all with children. The love he felt for his son was immediate, as was the need to protect him. Emilia was a great teacher to help him adapt. I loved how realistic his crash course was in having a toddler in the house, all of the bodily fluids involved, child sickness, the worry.
I enjoyed this so much. I loved the way things developed between them. It was natural and slow and I loved the way that Jace made sure that nothing was rushed. I’m also a huge fan of epilogues and this one was the icing on the cake. It left me feeling so happy for the way their lives have developed. I can’t end this review without mentioning the gorgeous cover for this book. Now that I’ve read it, I have to say that it is even more perfect.

When I'm looking for a sweet, sexy, and fun story, Jasmin Miller is a go to author. Her books always hit the spot and I especially enjoyed this one.
Jace is a professional swimmer and at twenty eight, he's lived his life as a bachelor thus far. Until one day, he gets the surprise of a lifetime. He has a son. This isn't the secret baby type troupe I hate, so putting that out there right now. But regardless, Jace is now a new father to a toddler and has no idea what to do. His mom helps some, but he decides to hire a nanny. That's where Emilia, or Millie comes in.
Millie has worked on a popular telivision program and is great with kids. She's perfect for Tanner. Even though Jace thinks she's a bit odd at first, she really grows on him as well. The relationship between Millie and Jace is slow burn in the best way. I loved watching them fall for one another.
I love single parent romances and I'm especially a sucker for the single dad falling for the nanny troupe. This did it perfectly. It had everything I love about kids in books, and nothing I hate. Watching Jace and Tanner together and seeing Jace come into his own as a father was one of my favorite things about this story.
It’s incomparable to anything else I’ve ever experienced. It’s almost like there was a place in my heart that was untouched until he entered my life, a spot that was reserved for him alone.
Jace was a great dad and a fabulous hero, but Millie really stole the show for me. She was the best and I loved how she was with Tanner and how she was unapoligetically herself. She has big dreams and wasn't afraid to go after them. And even though there was a bit of angst thrown in, Jace truly loved her and supported her dreams.
If you're a fan of single parent romances, sport romances, or are just looking for your next sweet and steamy romance, pick up Fresh Meet. I enjoyed it lots and I'm hoping we get more from these characters, because I can't wait to read about some of Jace's friends! -
A single father romance that will swoon you away with how sweet and angsty Jasmin writes her magical characters...
As a true Jasmin reader from the start, I can officially say this is my ultimately favorite book she has written! I knew from the start I would fall in love since it's a trope romance that always melts my panties... No joke. Plus, can we take a moment to admire this cover? Someone please call 9-1-1 because now everyone's panties are on fire! Jasmin truly brought it all in this romance story that everyone has to enjoy. It's not only packed with steamy scenes, but the emotional aspect of it all also has you craving the true love that Jace and Emilia have. That connection between two individuals who are different in every way, but share the true compassion of love and honesty is what Jasmin is a queen at writing."Tragedies connect people in a way that isn't possible otherwise. The bond is instant and deep, cutting straight through layers that otherwise might never be penetrated or would take a much longer time to work through..."
As Jace learns to go through his personal internal struggles as a newly found single father, he also learns how to truly open up his heart to Emilia. And the connection she has with his son, Tanner, is just too sweet that my tooth ached when I was reading their scenes together. My hands are truly itching to see what else Jasmin has up her sleeves in this series. I can already predict who is coming next, and I am hoping it's as sweet and sticking as this one!

Em and Jace’s journey, accompanied by adorable Tanner, was romantic, beautiful and heartwarming.
Both main characters were so likeable, having their flaws and imperfections, also relatable and rational.
The story was very well written, keeping my interest from the begging to the end, engaging and emotional, with great pace and dual pov.
The cover was absolute perfection!!! -
4 stars!!
Cute romantic story with adorable characters. Love baby Tanner so much! <3 -
3.5-4 stars! This was a really sweet sports romance with an Olympic swimmer hero. He finds out he has a son and he falls for his new nanny!
-
Wow this book it was a little of everything in my opinion, there were heart breaking moments, uplifting and a whole range of emotional torment in between. I was involved with all the characters from the beginning. I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced copy of this book.
Jace is a professional Olympic swimmer and has been coasting through life but all that changes when a two year old little boy is handed to him. His life is soon turned upside down in ways that he never ever thought it could be. Coming to terms with being a father and trying to train it soon becomes apparent that he is going to need a lot of help and ends up hiring a nanny for his son. His love for Tanner is obvious but he is struggling with communicating with his son that is until Millie arrives, she slots into their lives seamlessly even in her crazy outfits it’s clear that Tanner adores her and she is slowly but surely creeping under his skin. He can’t imagine a world without Tanner and Millie in his life but will that day come and will he support Millie or destroy the best thing to ever walk in his life?
Emilia has spent her life always feeling like she wasn’t good enough and finally found acceptance working with children, but after her last experience as a nanny she is reluctant to take another nannying job but with the kids tv show she worked on no longer in need of her wiggle character she is at a loose end but determined to make her dreams come true. The day she meets Tanner and Jace she knows that she is where she is needed and together with Jace they learn how to look after this adorable it brings them together and she opens her heart to them both. But when she is offered her dream will she be able to walk away from the two people who mean the most to her and will she recover from Jace’s words when she had started to believe in them?
This book was a slow burn romance and I loved every minute, watching all the main characters learn how to love and develop emotional ties to one another. Both Millie and Jace finding acceptance in each other. I cannot wait for more in this series especially after reading the interactions with Hunter and Noah. Highly recommended read easily a 5* read. -
I will forever say that the single parent trope is elite
-
I absolutely adored this book Jasmin you did it!
Reading this gave me all of the feels. It’s the perfect short sweet romance for one sitting.
This book is warm, sweet, funny, witty, heartbreaking at times but oh so heartwarming all together. Let’s also not forget hot and steamy 🔥.
It was the perfect mix of emotions with low angst.. but just enough to keep you turning the pages until the end.
Also when the hero gives the heroine a swoon worthy nickname.... that’s what makes my knee’s weak. 🐞
The dynamic between Em and Tanner is so sweet it makes me melt.
Jace & Millie have a special place in my hopeless romantic heart. -
I was really excited about the premise of Fresh Meet. A single dad finding himself unexpectedly attracted to his quirky nanny... that certainly sounded like my jam alright. And for the most part, it was. This was my first read by Jasmin Miller and I enjoyed the concept. I think what kept pulling me out of the story was the dialogue. It didn't always feel natural. It didn't feel consistent at times with what I'd expect to hear between two twenty somethings. I don't know, maybe it was too wordy, too flowery at times? I can't pinpoint it, but something felt off about it and I think I just struggled with that. I struggled with finding a connection.
What I did like was the sweetness of the story. Jace, an Olympic swimmer, a single guy without much to worry about outside of his sport, suddenly finds himself the father of a toddler that he had absolutely no idea even existed. What evolves is exactly what you'd expect, a dynamic that's difficult, sometimes terrifying for him, and definitely complicated. Enter the young, quirky nanny, Emilia, who's got her own set of issues, and a story full of both parenting mishaps and unexpected attraction ensues. It was sweet, entertaining, definitely light on the tension and conflict. It held my interest for much of it, I just wished I'd felt more of a pull. I'm admittedly a reader that enjoys more conflict so it's entirely my own hang up. This story deserves to be appreciated for exactly what it is though which is a lighthearted story that's both entertaining and heartwarming. There's so much to be said about a fun, sweet, sexy love story about unconventional characters and I did enjoy quite a bit of their romance.
As I said before, this was my first Jasmin Miller novel. On a personal note, I think this author is one of the kindest humans I've interacted with and I certainly plan on reading more of her books. I really enjoyed these characters, I was just missing a deeper connection that's so necessary when you pick up a book. I wanted to feel more immersed and instead I felt kept at arm's length. Do I think readers will enjoy this book? Absolutely. This is a classic case of "it's not you, it's me" but I hope I'll find more of a connection with her other books. -
Gah this book y’all. So many darn emotions right now. I absolutely loved this story. Just when I thought Mrs Miller couldn’t get any better she outdoes herself. Jace is a swimmer (think Ryan Lochte or Michael Phelps) then you’ve got Em (think the yellow female wiggle from the show The Wiggles) then the sweetest little boy. The connection between these is amazing. I couldn’t get enough. I FELT it and then some. I laughed and I cried. I can’t go into details without giving anything away and I don’t want to do that. Check this book out ASAP!! ARC provided by the author.

Jace is an Olympic swimmer and one day his whole life changes when he finds out that he's a father to a little boy, whose mother was his one night stand and recently died. He's preparing for Olympics and championships and his strict training life, doesn't make it easy to add a toddler who seeks his attention.
There comes Millie. A girl who shows up for the nanny position in a tutu, crazy hair and steals his son's heart as it seems. Since he didn't find someone else,he hires her as a nanny and they find out something about his son, that he hadn't realised before...
Along the way, they get closer, but do they blur the lines between boss and employee? Especially when everything is all new to him and her dream is another job?
I'm always in awe of Jasmin's books. Seriously, they are the typical feel good reads and this was no exception. I'm in love with her writing and this was so good! If you like the single dad trope, along with the dad- nanny one, this one hits all the spots!!
I really enjoyed the characters, the realtionship they had with the little boy or between them. I loved that there was also another matter that was developed on this one and as a future kindergartener, I appreciated that, because we don't get to see it that often in books. The only part that I didn't enjoy and I was mad at the hero, was when something didn't go well and his reaction to the whole thing was just wrong for me. Especially because he should have acted in a different way as a dad that's supposed to be concerned about his child. I understand that this was all new to him, but still. I couldn't ignore the fact that his attitude bothered me.
All in all, a great romance , with awesome plot and amazing characters! -
Nice hot athlete single dad romance

▪▪▪ Chase that dream like the devil's right on your heels because you deserve it. You deserve the world ▪▪▪
This story was so incredibly sweet and heart warming. Jace lives, eat and breathes swimming currently focused on competing at the Olympics. What he is not expecting is to become the sole provider for a son, 2 and a half year old Tanner, he didn't even know he had
After losing her job working as performer on a popular childrens tv program Emilia (Millie) applies for a job as a nanny. Millie has always loved working with kids and is great at it even though her family has never approved of her profession or taken in seriously
Tanner, sweet dear Tanner he really stole the show here. I loved seeing both Jace and Millie's interactions with him and how incredibly patient and caring they both were. Through their growing bond with Tanner you see these two become closer to each other aswell. Their story was adorable and deliciously slow burn. I loved how supportive Jace was and how even though he has a busy and time consuming lifestyle you could really tell how hard he was trying to adjust to his new normal. Millie had insecurities stemming from a less than stellar upbringing and constantly feeling like she would never be enough. Watching her break down some of those walls and realise that deep down she is stronger than she thinks was a beautiful journey
I really enjoyed this story and find Jasmin's writing so easy to get lost in. I loved a lot of the side characters including Jace's mother and his friends and Millie's best friend. I love postive female friendships in stories and Jasmin always manages to showcase these nicely. I only wish there would have been a scene where Jace teaches Tanner how to swim as I feel like that would have been such a beautiful thing to experience

Jace is an Olympic swimmer and has been called the King of the Water for his amazing swimming abilities. He’s never been tied down or had the desire to settle down because that’s more responsibility than he’s looking for. But one day he learns that a girl he hooked up with 3-years who has died and Jace has a son he never knew about who has suddenly been put into his care. In order to balance his career and new-found parenthood, Jace is in desperate need of a new nanny.
Millie recently lost her job after the children’s show she worked on stopped airing. Her dream is to work with one of America’s best kid’s shows, but her dreams seem so out of reach. In the meantime, she takes another nannying job. This time for a single dad and his almost 3-year old son.
At first Jace judges Millie for her bright hair, tutu and overall childish appearance. But he soon learns that she’s perfect with his son and her quirky outfits only make Jace’s speech-delayed son feel more comfortable. Even though Jace never saw himself settling down, he starts having serious feelings for Millie. And it’s clear Millie feels the same. But getting involved with the nanny is never a good idea—both of them might end up more heartbroken than ever...
Fresh Meet by Jasmin Miller is book 2 in the Kings of the Water series. I love the single parent trope, especially when the parent falls for the nanny. I’m also a sucker for sports romances and swimming is a sport I rarely read about, so it was refreshing to mix things up. Jasmin delivered with this sweet, sexy, emotional romance and I can’t wait to read the rest of this series! 4/5 stars. -
It Grabbed My attention and focus so strong I could not put it down. A word of advice when you get your copy. Grab a snack, a comfy seat, kick back and relax. You will not be moving until you finish this bad boy here. Remarkable job. Thanks for sharing.

WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO SAY EXCEPT THAT THIS BOOK WAS SWEET AS FUCK?! THIS BOOK WAS EXACTLY LIKE DOWN TOO DEEP AND OH BOY HOW LONG I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR SOMETHING SIMILAR.
If the capital letters didn't tell you how much I love this book then biss, I don't know what to say.
I love single parents' books, I crave them for some reason. If you add athletes, sure as hell you got me. It's the first book I read that isn't about football or hockey and I found it fresh (ops, wasn't on purpose). I try to make this review as spoiler-free as possible but to be honest, I don't really know if there're spoilers to tell.
As soon as I started this book, I knew for sure the hero wasn't some kind of arrogant athletes. And again, that was refreshing (sorry). I love how he handled the whole I-turn-dad-overnight situation and was trying his best to be the best dad Tanner could have. He even knew what he was doing wrong and corrected himself right away not only toward his son but also toward Emilia.
Emilia, on the other hand, was the kind of heroine I love. She's crazy, a bit egocentric but so selfless. She has so much love to give and she knows how to give it. Her love for children was so sweet and it made my heart melted. When I read the first scene between Emilia and Tanner, I already knew I was doomed because that kid got my heart in the palm of his tinny hand.
*Sigh*
In the beginning, you don't really feel the attraction between the MCs because it was rather centered on Tanner. And to be honest, I think that was a good idea. The romance was really slow, not that I complain. Usually, I don't like when it's too slow but here, I liked that the author didn't rush the relationship between the MC and rather slowly built it. It felt like everything was coming into place at the right time, right moment.
The side characters were so interesting, especially Hunter and Noah. And boy, they better get their books or I'll riot. For sure I'll read more of Jasmin Miller because her writing was so addictive.

Before I delve into the book itself. I gotta say the labeling on the series was really confusing. Some pages on GR it says Fresh Meet is the first book, others say it's the second book.(Same number mislabeling with Secret Plunge.) Also it sounds like Ryan's(one of Jace's friends & fellow swimmer) romance had already happened before FM began & yet when I looked at the released dates it says FM was released first. It didn't spoil much about Ryan & Harper(barely reveals much beyond the synopsis of SP does), but still had I known, I would've read Secret Plunge first I think.
ANYHOO…

First time reading one of this author’s books and I liked it. The characters were likable and the writing was good. I wouldn’t say this book was anything special but it was better than some other books that had the same storyline.
Overall this book was an okey read and I would continue to read other books by this author in the future. -
Received ARC from BookSprout for Honest Review.

HEA(?): Yes
Heat: 3-3.5ish/5
Romance: 5/5
Funny & Cuteness Factor: 5/5
Drama: 3.5-4/5
Suspense: This one is a little hard to give a rating for some reason, 3(?)/5.
No Spoilers.
This is not a bad book, it was pretty good. The only thing that weirdly bugged me was the whole first few chapters of the book, the flow and pacing was just...off. I kinda wish that it was paced slower to get a better grasp of the characters personalities.
Midway of the book the pacing got much better. LOVE TANNER! Too cute!! -
Jasmin Miller, where have you been all my book loving life???? I don’t even know where to begin. This book is one hell of an incredible read. “Fresh Meet” is so many things and all of them good.
✳️ It’s a sexy sports romance featuring Jace, a sexy as sin olympic swimmer. His life evolves around his training and little else until the night that changes everything. Discovering he is a father to a baby boy named Tanner will forever change his life in ways he cannot even begin to imagine. Tanner is a beautiful toddler, sweet, affectionate and utterly adorable and he soon becomes the center of his dad’s world. Millie is an incredibly beautiful person, inside and out. She has a heart of gold and loves working with children. Let go, from a job she loves and that has garnered her a small fanbase of online admirers, Millie decides to apply for a position as a nanny.
✳️ It becomes an incredibly sexy, slow burn, forbidden romance. Jace hires Millie as his son’s nanny when it becomes apparent how gifted she is with children. Tanner adores his new nanny and forces his father to fall under her spell too. Jace is unable to resist the beauty that is Millie and the love that she exudes for his son. Tanner brings them together but their attraction to one another takes it to another level.
✳️ It’s more than a love story. This book draws attention to so many important issues that are unexpected in a contemporary romance read but in this book are handled with intelligence and sensitivity.
✳️ It’s a sexy and satisfying happily ever after read that will leave you with a smile on your face, a sigh in your throat and sparkle in your eyes.
TBR this incredible book and enjoy. (I read an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.) -
Single dads are my favorites because I get to see the cute little ones😍😍😍 And this hero have a adorable baby boy and that baby boy really loves the heroine😍😍😍 So extremely cute! I'm such a sucker for babies😁😁😁
This love story is cute and safe. A quick one for me but enough to made me awee and in love with this couple and especially to the adorable baby boy. The heroine is the new nanny, she loves to dress up for the new baby she have to take care so she's the best. At first the hero judge the heroine by the way her dress herself, but he then realize she do that for the baby. And also she doesn't care what people think cause she loves to wear whatever she wants. The couple didn't meet for the first time and fell in love right away, it take then a while to get there though but not too long so it's not boring... But when the hero made the first move to the heroine, it was romantic and hot.
“She’s addictive, and no matter if I think it might be better to keep this a normal boss employee relationship, I can’t deny that she’s getting under my skin. Her company, her role in my life, has added something that wasn’t there before. I enjoy having her around. I enjoy our conversations and spending time together, no matter if we watch a movie or sit on the floor and build blocks with Tanner.”
‼️‼️‼️NO CHEATING
‼️‼️‼️IT HAS SEPARATION BUT NOT TOO LONG AND BOTH ARE LOYAL AND DIDN'T GO TO ANYONE ELSE.
‼️‼️‼️NO VIRGINS.
‼️‼️‼️BOTH ARE SINGLE WHEN THEY MET.
‼️‼️‼️THE HERO IS NOT A MANWHOR3.
‼️‼️‼️TRIGGER: DEPRESSION, DEATH AND HOSPITAL.
‼️‼️‼️NO DRAMA WITH OW. ONLY WITH OM BUT NOT TOO ANNOYING AND NOT TOO MUCH...
‼️‼️‼️VERY HOT SMUT SCENES...
‼️‼️‼️LITTLE JEALOUS SCENES FROM THE HERO AND NONE FROM THE HEROINE.
‼️‼️‼️THE HERO NOT TOO POSSESSIVE, HE IS PROTECTIVE AND NOT TOO ALPHA MALE tho.
‼️‼️‼️THE HERO WANTS THE HEROINE SOOO BADLY....
“Even when I don’t see her, I think about her. About kissing her. And so much more. I catch myself daydreaming about her on a regular basis, the need to touch her, to feel her, consuming not just my body but also my mind.”
‼️‼️‼️THE HEROINE is very sweet kind talented smart woman. She loves kids and she adores the baby boy, btw the baby boy is two years old...
‼️‼️‼️Hmm... The connection like the chemistry between them is low though, not too romantic for me tho at least for me.
‼️‼️‼️HAPPY ENDING. Engaged and pregnant!
👉🏽👉🏽👉🏽Thank you so much for reading my review❤️❤️ For you who loves my review and follow it, THANK YOU SO MUCH. I did not get paid or be told to do a review on a book. I’m here just to write review about a book so i can remember it. Its my honest opinion😚 I didn’t know at first people will find me and follow me and trust me to be honest, I was surprised myself to look at the notifications from people who reach out to me😆 So everything i write down here on a review is based on my personal opinion and based on my true writing. I DID NOT COPY SOMEONE’S REVIEW OR WRITING SKILL because at first when i was using this app for one year i didn’t know how to scroll down on a book and see the reviews from others😂😅🤣 I know, silly me but hey I finally learned my lesson 😛😛😛 Thats why when people assume i copy someone’s review i was like what? Because at first i didn’t know how to use this app properly and i didn’t know how to open someone’s review because for a year i never follow someone or add friends or someone😂😂😂🤣 (I’m laughing so hard) 🤪 AND I NEVER COPY SOMEONE’S REVIEW EVER. IF I WRITE SOMETHING WRONG OR DOESN’T MAKE SENSE PLEASE LET ME KNOW AND BE NICE OKAY. 👈🏽👈🏽👈🏽✋🏽✋🏽
I have a disclaimer down bellow if you have negative thoughts about my review😙😙😙
🌐🌐🌐➡️↘️⬇️➡️This is my own personal thoughts and opinion about the book so if thats not sit right with you or you feel I’m not being fair blablabla, please know that everybody in this world have their own different things that they like and don’t like. It may not be the same thing with you but thats okay because i am my own person and you cannot control me or tell me what to do. For example; i put ketchup (tomato sauce) on my fried chicken. You think that’s disgusting? For me its not and i’ve been eating it like that for many many years. You tell me to put another sauce and see if i like that better? I already did many many times in years but i still like the way i like it. It’s called differences between me and you and billions people in this world😊 be open minded😙 I respect people’s opinions about my opinions but in the end of the day if i say I don’t like it or i do like it, its up to me and its on me. And in the end of the day i always liked and show my respect to books and people’s opinions on books whenever that book is good or not good in my opinion 😊 Respect people’s opinions guys😙😙 I don’t want to write this down because its not really my thing to do it. To like address something like this when obviously i know the people who’s been reading my reviews many times and all the time, they are smart enough to understand and respect other people’s opinions no matter what their opinions on book or their point of view 😙😙 am i right? 💕 also there are people even though i already write “this book is different because i have my own taste of book” those people still comment my taste is this and that when HELLO… everybody have their own thoughts on books and what they want to read… why i read it then? I read it and give it a review because i have to read a book to give it a review… why not read the description book to understand before I’m going to read it? Hello just in case you haven’t notice, description books can be tricky because they write this amazing things about a book but turns out the story is so toxic. Maybe for me its toxic but not for you? YES HELLO THATS WHY US HUMAN BEING HAVE OUR DIFFERENCES, WHAT I LIKE IT DOESN’T MEAN YOU WILL LIKE IT AND EITHER WAY TOO. why i still write the review then if i just don’t like a book? Because I CAN and i want to, you cannot tell me what to do and not what to do🤪 if you still wants to be negative and be karens about my review on book after all of what i just write, i will never acknowledge you and simply ignore you because its not that hard🙏 I won’t respond to negativity comments🙏🏼🙏🏼 DON’T ASK ME AGAIN ABOUT WHY NOT RESPONDING TO YOUR NEGATIVE COMMENTS BECAUSE I ALREADY SAY IT HERE AND I WON’T BE EXPLAINING AGAIN BECAUSE WE’RE NOT CHILDREN SO ITS NOT HARD FOR YOU AN ADULT TO UNDERSTAND😌😌 YES MY REVIEW IS LONG BUT YOU READ IT ANYWAY AND ITS FINE ACTUALLY I CAN WRITE AS LONG AS I LIKE😎 YES MY GRAMMAR IS BAD SOMETIMES AND MAYBE ALL THE TIME BUT LUCKILY MANY PEOPLE CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT I’M SAYING🤪 ⬅️↖️↕️⬅️↩️⤴️ -
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 STARS
I love a good single dad romance and throw in that it was a surprise child, even better. I found that this story was cute and sweet, especially how Jace acclimated to being a father and accepting the new nanny, Em. I enjoyed reading about Jace's relationship with his son, Tanner and how the three of them became a unit and a family.
I highly recommend reading this, it is definitely a MUST read. Fresh Meet by Jasmin Miller will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ELITE!!! -
"I like our mess, even when it's not always perfect. That means it's real, that we're real. And I very much love that and will fight for it as long as you let me."
when i heard "fresh meet" was a single daddy/nanny romance, i started reading it right away because i love the single parent trope. even though this didn't become a favorite of mine, i still enjoyed the book a lot, especially because the writing was straightforward and the characters were sweet and funny.
in most sports romance books, the main character is a football or hockey player, so i was pleasantly surprised when i found that the mc in "fresh meet" – jace atwood – was a professional swimmer. that definitely made the book a little more original and interesting for me.
before his son tanner, swimming was what gave jace purpose. i liked seeing how invested and focused he was on beating records and being the best swimmer in the world. he also took his "job" as a dad equally seriously and did everything in his power to give tanner the best life possible. i'm a sucker for sweet and loving dads, so their scenes together were heartwarming and incredible.
emilia's biggest dream was to have a tv show focused on children education, but before her audition she needed to gain some money so she started the job as a nanny for tanner. after just a few meetings both jace and tanner were smitten with her. their scenes as a little family were endearing and super sweet.
emilia captivated me because of her love for children. she wasn't afraid of being considered "weird" if it meant she was making a kid smile. i also loved that she was determined and never gave up on her dreams even with all the obstacles she faced in her life.
emilia and jace's relationship was cute and i liked how supportive they were with each other, but that’s it. considering both characters were already in a good place in their relationship and were in love with each other, i hated the miscommunication. there was no need for them to hide secrets, except to create drama because the book was already ending.
another thing that ruined the book a little for me was the fact that when emilia and jace started to have a relationship, tanner just kinda "disappeared". i hate when kids are used as props to get the couple together and then are "forgotten" when everything is okay between the lovebirds. -
I have to say: while I'm not a very big fan of the unexpected pregnancy trope, books that revolve around children are my weakness.
Jace finds himself with a two year old son after the little boy's mother has died, and now he has to hire a nanny to take care of him when he's training. Enter Millie, a young woman who loves kids with all her hart, and Jace's new nanny.
I always read sports romance, but swimming is never one of those sports, so I also loved to read about it. I wish it would've focused more on it, but i'm not really complaining.
I'm honestly so surprised that this is my first 5 star book of the year, but yet again I don't find any reasons as to why I should rate it lower. I picked it up not even 24 hours ago and almost stayed up until 5am to finish it. It was addictive and I kept telling myself "just one more chapter."
The romance is super cute, Millie is an adorable MC and Tanner is the sweetest kid ever. I had never heard of this author but now I'm excited to read more from her. -

I don't know how I didn't stop reading this story before this point. In the beginning, it was cute and somehow it became tiresome... and exhausting to read. I only liked the character of the little boy... the rest, nope. 🙄
*This is just my opinion. If you want to read it, of course, you can and who knows maybe you'll end up loving it. -
This is the book I needed to break my book funk. I had been DNFing every book I had picked up. This is the first book that I’ve read by this author and if her other books are like this it won’t be my last. I loved Millie and Jace. They were sweet to each other and Jace was so compassionate towards Millie. The way he cared for her and defended her was just so sweet. Where can I find me someone like that ? Sure they had their moments where a conflict was brought about and there was some communication issues there that I didn’t mind - but I loved how everything was resolved. Overall great book and it looks like there will be more in this series so I’m looking forward to reading those.

Thank you Jasmin Miller for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Jasmin is hands down one of my favorite authors. So when I saw she released a new book, I knew I had to read it! And let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Oh my goodness, I loved this book so so much!!
Jace is a professional swimmer and living his bachelor life to the fullest. Until the day he is surprised to find out he has a son. Jace is now the sole caretaker of his son. Between being a new father and his busy life, he is not sure how he’s going to do it all.
Millie is absolutely wonderful with kids, as she has worked on a popular TV show with them! She is also in the midst of looking for a job, and would be the perfect nanny for Tanner. At first, Jace is not sure how he feels about Millie, he finds her a bit odd. But, after some time, she starts to grow on him.
I found this book to be so realistic. All the characters were so real and relatable, which helped me connect with them better. I also loved that the story was told in dual POV between Jace and Millie. If you are looking for a slow burn sports romance, I highly suggest reading this!! -
Jace, an olympic medallist swimmer, and Em, child entertainer, grow to love each other as she is hired as a nanny for his son. Very enjoyable story, although with a few cliché elements like boss/nanny who fall for each other and the story arc of slow burn for half the book, argument, then reconciliation. Plus for incorporating a swimmer for the lead character with a god-like body and eyes swimming pool blue... Swoon...
