    Before you ask, I am indeed one of "those" people. Those verbatim lyric reciting, ultra fan boying, Uber-nerd Hamilton fans. So I was rather predisposed to love this script, and love it I did.

    I was able to make the play (or at least one song from it, part of my curriculum this year), teaching kids how verbs and nouns do the heavy lifting when it comes to communicating vital information. But that's only one micro view of the text, and when working with teens who speak Spanish at home, it's among the least important. Lessons on obligation to self or the community, insights into fairness, education, and honesty all inform great conversations and reflections.

    The second act is a little soft, and some students still felt estranged from the story, but the inventiveness and the depth makes this a marvelous piece of theater.
