The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: ❤️💙💜💛💚
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📔📙
World building: 🌎🌍🌏🌎🌍
Character development: 👤👤👤👤👤
The setting: Mexico City
The Hero(s): Diego – Works for Hayden at TORC, a clandestine private security company that does the work even the CIA and FBI can’t do. Diego was in the first two books. Where Jaxson from Rogue specializes in charming the women, Declan from Mercenary specialized and was the best in tracking down and killing difficult targets, Diego specializes in taking out people on a more massive and explosive scale.
The heroine: Aubrey – a nice girl, an architect who is spending a year in Mexico city trying to better the lives of other. She was in some sort of Architects Beyond Borders program, sort of like Doctors Without Borders. Only she didn’t just donate her time, she spent her life savings to be included and when the funding in Mexico dried up, so did her money. Now she is trying to get a backer to fund the projects she wants to be involved in.
The Love Story: Aubrey first sees Diego when she is in a glass room overlooking a living room with a pool, while he strips down and does some impromptu skinny dip. He is ultra hot and sexy and she can’t turn her eyes away.
I loved Aubrey and Diego. Diego is hot as blazes and Aubrey is a good girl who somehow always has a way of getting into the worst kind of trouble. She is like someone who is accident prone but instead of accidents, she gets herself into the craziest and most dangerous situations when she is just trying to do simple normal things. Diego shouldn’t care but somehow ends up helping her out of the situations almost every time.
Aubrey is just trying to get funding for her program, but ends up mixing with criminals and gangsters. She is so naïve and even trying to get out of bad situations has her getting into worse. You can’t help but like her. Despite how much of a professional he is, Diego can’t resist her.
Hayden, the owner and boss at TORC appears in this book as well. In the past two books he has been quite a huge jerk and he isn’t as bad in this book. Though Hayden cares about the job above all else and if some random innocent gets in the way, they are collateral damage as far as he is concerned. He has a history with Luciana, Diego’s sister. She hates him now, but at the end of Mercenary he kind of set things up to see her again. I can’t wait for their story.
The end of this book also had a Sneak Peak at Player which is about Finn McDuff who played a big role in this book. He is quite a character as well. He is a master of disguise and a man who can get things done. So that should be quite interesting!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Dogooder Aubrey left her home in America to help build affordable housing for those less fortunate in Mexico. Alas, things didn't turn out quite like Aubrey had hoped and she finds herself at CASA BELLA hoping to meet with Juan Carlos Mendoza about helping to fund her project.
There she meets the sexy and mysterious "DIEGO" They share a night of passion, but soon Aubrey realizes things might not be as they seem at CASA BELLA and Diego may very well be right in the middle of it.
When circumstances force these two on the run together, will the spark that started at CASSA BELLA turn into a full-fledged fire or will it burn itself out leaving devastation in it's wake??
Most of my four stars for this one goes to the story itself. It was a really well written and well-paced book. A lot of action that kept me turning the pages. Unfortunately for the first 60% of the book, I didn't really care for the hero or heroine. I just never felt a connection between them. In fact, I spent the first 60% trying to figure out if Diego was sleeping with the prostitute Diana at the same time as the heroine. For the record "I" felt he wasn't, but it's never really 100% clear. It's been confirmed he DID NOT. So mystery solved!
Aubrey was one of those heroines that was really TSTL. I honestly wondered how she survived to adulthood with her less than stellar decision-making skills. Diego, for the most part, was just an asshole (with a really big dick.)
That said, at 60% when this couple is forced on the run things started to come together better for me. I started to feel the connection and I started to enjoy them as a couple. Oh, Aubrey was still TSTL, and Diego was still being an asshole by leaving Aubrey all the time. But the author managed to get me to warm up to them.
Overall this ended up being a really good read. So two thumbs up from yours truly. -

Aubrey is determined to use her knowledge to help the less fortunate in Mexico City. She used all her savings for her dream job. Because the company she was going to work with needs more money she tries to find someone for additional funds but brings herself in danger... Diego is a hit man and while trying to infiltrate he meets the stunning do-gooder Aubrey. He’s attracted to her but is determined not to give into his feelings. But their paths keep crossing ... How long can you deny it? And can he keep Aubrey safe? Will he choose his job or her? Aubrey just ends up in one dangerous situation after the other...
This was a wonderful action filled romance. It took me some time to start liking Diego but in the end I did.
What bothered me a little bit is the many Spanish words en sentences in the book. There are also a little bit to much coincidental encounters between Audrey and Diego...
Overall I liked this book and give it 3,5 stars. -
Good Lord. Let me catch my breath.
Hit Man was amazing. It was exactly what I needed when I was looking for something different – something where the hero was a badass, aggressive and tough and yet sweet and sexy with his lady love. Enter Diego Romero. Acting as an undercover agent, Diego was as sexy and combustible as the bombs he exploded. He was everything mentioned above and then some.
Michele Mannon introduced us to Diego in previous Deadliest Lies books, but this novel can stand alone without having read the previous books in the series. His chemistry with Aubrey was fierce! From first glance, they both looked at each other and you knew: IT.WAS.ON. I loved it. With bombs exploding, bounties on their heads, sexual tension off the charts and killers chasing them, the suspense was fantastic!! I can't wait for the next one. ~ Ratula, 4 Stars -
Loved it! So fun, and this series keeps getting better and better!!

I gave this book 5 Suspenseful Stars!
From the beginning to the end I was on the edge of my seat wanting to know what was going to happen next. From the mysterious man Diego, to the mysterious person who was calling all the shots! For me the life of me I can not put this book down. So if you want a Hot Dominant Alpha Male, Hot Sex Scenes, Suspense, Twist, and turns then look no further. Read this book!
Aubrey has came to Mexico for a job to build houses in the poorest of neighborhoods. When funding is put on hold, she seeks outside funding. Where she meets the mysterious man named Diego. He is under cover and is wondering who the sexy, sassy woman is. When things go wrong and suspicion is cast on Aubrey, Diego tries to figure out if she is part of it or if she is innocent as she seems. Can these two find love and survive?
The characters have off the charts chemistry and the storyline continues to hold you all the way to the end.
This was the first book I've read the authors but won't be my last. -
The Deadliest Lies series has been one adrenaline-fueled rush since the beginning. I was beyond excited to get Diego's book since I encountered him in earlier books
Hit Man is book three in the series and works best in order, but can be read standalone the way the story is on a slightly different story arc from the others though the series arc is continued from previous books.
Diego is on the hunt for the missing pieces from TORC's ongoing mission and he needs to locate one man. His mission is turned on its ear from the moment Audrey trips her naive way into the middle of the situation and breaks everything wide open. He finds it hard to believe that all the coincidences that connect her to the situation are merely that, coincidences. She's a siren to him and he can't resist the attraction even while she constantly blunders and screws everything up nearly getting herself and him killed many times.
Aubrey came to Mexico City to do something good and worthwhile with her architectural degree and her investment in a housing project for the poor only the company goes broke taking her investment with it and she is forced to help raise funds to get the project back on its feet. This is why she is teaching English at a private school and ends up near a bombing that almost takes out the school and results in one of her little students swiping her passport. Aubrey is stuck in town, but learns of a wealthy man who might be willing to fund her housing project and that is how she ends up crossing paths with the sexy Diego and landing in a boatload of trouble she doesn't even understand.
Alright, this was a book that- sigh... I liked it, but I also was nearly driven up the wall by it. I wanted to take it seriously like the past two, but it was a struggle. In one word, Aubrey. She has so many TSTL moments in this story that I swear she wore out a plethora of guardian angels. It got to the point where it descended into slapstick. Maybe I missed something and it was meant to be suspense mashed with comedy. If so, then I suppose that alters things. Watching Aubrey stumble and bumble her way around and land on her feet each time provided entertainment.
The thing is she has a good heart and seemed to be highly intelligent in her field. She's a sexy woman who lets go and embraces her sexuality and Diego. She takes that tom cat by storm and it was fun to see. Diego is wild and has been since his youth because losing his parents and living on the streets and in a gang leave him something more than normal. He's a deadly operator, but also a person who relishes his work. Aubrey knocks him on his butt. Attraction turns into want and he struggles with putting her aside for her own good though it takes all his skill and ingenuity to keep her out of harm's way.
On a side note, the mysterious Hayden who has intrigued me all along had a facet of his past revealed in this one. And it was fun to see where the series seems to be headed next.
In summary, I'm on the fence about this one, but I suppose if taken as amusing and fun instead of intense then it was quite the entertaining, exciting, sizzling hot read. I can heartily recommend the series to romantic suspense lovers who like it fast and exciting.
I received this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. -
Hit Man is a cute story! Diego is definitely the other half of Aubrey's soul.
Diego is an enigma. Aubrey is a sweet but somewhat gullible woman who has a sincere desire to save the world. Their initial meet is totally unorthodox but totally befitting their journey. And what a journey! Nothing worth having is ever easy.
Hit Man will appeal to readers of all genres. There's lots of action, hot sex, drama, anddddddddddd a HEA!

Title: Hit Man
Author: Michele Mannon
4 unforgettable stars
I'm wondering, after having finished Hit Man, if reading the first two books before this novel would have made this one even better. Which, I have to say that meeting Michele Mannon's work was an amazing journey. Hit Man wasn't like I had expected: mystery, thrills and so much action that it kept me awake much later than I should have at night, and the romantic aspect made it even more decadent. When you put an innocent and too trusting woman with the hardened man who has seen too much conflict and death, you have one captivating story that keeps you at the edge of your seat.
4 breath taking dreams stars
Diego and Aubrey are the most unlikely people I would have expected to get together when they first met because of their backgrounds. They are incredibly different and I never would have expected to make it, but their adventure only made them stronger and the way Michele Mannon describes her scenes simply makes it more exciting and sexy. I loved the way she knew when too much would have been too much and there was a great balance between the action and romance. But as I first mentioned - would Hit Man have been better had I read the first two instalments in the series or was it as good as it got? I enjoyed my first experience from Michele Mannon and can't wait to read more from her.

Hit Man by Michele Mannon
Deadliest Lies #3
Wow! Scorching hot, action-packed romantic suspense filled with thrills and chills whether inside or outside the bedroom. Secret group TORC has agents that are HOT and SKILLED and so much fun to read about. I liked Diego before BUT in this book he became a book boyfriend that I would love to call my own. Being undercover on assignment and meeting clueless but intelligent Aubrey was the best thing that could have happened to them both. At times Aubrey’s actions made me want to leap into the scene and tell her not to do whatever she was about to do but it always eventually worked out – because Diego was there. Not sure why but a few times Aubrey’s situations reminded me of some of Lucille Ball’s in “I Love Lucy” although I am not sure why since they were not “funny” per se. Ah well…just a passing thought from time to time.
Would I recommend this book? Definitely! Will you like it? I don’t know BUT I sure did. AND, I am now eager to read the next book in the series and am wondering if it will be Hayden’s story since he is off to Africa and Diego’s sister is there OR could it be that Duff will have his story told? And, who was working undercover as the nanny – at least I think she was working under cover AND was she working for TORC or some other agency? Hmm… Anyway, I could not put this book down and though I know I have to wait for more in the series it won’t be easy to remain patient ;)
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC. This is my honest review.

A great addition to the Deadliest Lies series. Diego gets his story and his tense life as a Hit Man and how he became a hit man is revealed.
Diego is in Mexico working undercover and he meets Aubrey, a beauty he's convinced, at first, is working her own assignment but she seems to be very innocently getting in the way of his assignment and he feels bound and determined to see to her safety especially when she finds herself right in the middle of a mess of trouble.
The storyline is thrilling and suspenseful and the relationship that develops between Diego and Aubrey is intense, the sex scenes are very steamy and hot.
If you love thrills and a little mystery with your romance I highly recommend Hit Man, it's a fantastic read. I'm looking forward to book 4 in the series!

Diego is sweet in his own, alpha way, “it’s not a risk I’m willing to take.” He pauses, and draws me into his arms. “I’d want to hurt whoever harmed you.” My throat hitches at the sincerity in his words. “I don’t think I could . . . function if something happened to you . . .” he adds softly." I liked this book, I really loved Diego.

Verdict: I’m in love; somebody hold me
Lord have mercy, but do I ever love mercenaries and romance and accents and YES talk dirty in different languages. And then maybe translate so I know what you said. And then switch back to the foreign language please, because it sounded a hell of a lot hotter that way. SWOON. In Michele Mannon’s newest novel HIT MAN there is all of this and soooo much more. Like things being blown up. A woman with novel aspirations so do amazing things. Incredibly amazing things. Of course, then there’s the hit man who-much to his dismay-is falling head over heels for her. Things don’t go as planned, and people get caught in the crosshairs of unimaginable horrors…
Let’s begin this review journey with some character analysis: Aubrey and Diego. As you may have figured out via pronoun usage, Aubrey is out resident do-gooder and Diego is out hired exterminator of human beings. Obviously his job has left him a little rough around the edges—and he claims he’s loved only three people in his entire life: his mother, father, and sister. When Aubrey comes crashing into his mission in a suspicious way, he takes it upon himself to figure out what this American is doing. I’m sure you know what follows: things are shot into the sky, cartels are run by powerhouses, and government conspiracies. It’s all rather dramatic in the best way possible.
And then we’ve got Aubrey, who, despite all of her amazing intentions, is fantastic at getting herself into situations that most people wouldn’t walk away alive from. Of course, they don’t have a hit man following them around like a protective puppy dog.
So cute.
As you can probably tell, I love both of these characters so much. I think it’s kind of hard to craft a human with real flaws that don’t seem overdone, or oversimplified. You’ve got to make them 3-D. Diego and Aubrey are. Full color. Living. Breathing. Freaking hot as hell. Make incredibly poor decisions. Are actually really rude.
BUT. Despite being rude is all about consent when it comes to sex. So, you know, ALL THE STARS. This right here is a HUGE thing for me. It’s a button pusher, as well it should be for everyone. Something shouldn’t be done to/with your body without your permission. The fact that Diego made sure that the active consenting of sex was clear was my favorite. Like, yes. Please pass this valuable skill on to every human being ever. PLEASE.
All that being said, I did grow annoyed with these two folks on occasion. This is the reason for the deduction of the half star. I think four and a half though is a quite nice rating.
I wasn’t expecting to love this book as much as I did. It did take me a bit to get to it, and then a bit more to commit to actually reading it. Then, still, I had finals in college. However, now that I’ve finished, I kind of want to read it all over again. YES. It was that good.
Later y'all

Loved it!! That's where I'll start.
I have read this author before, her Worth the Fight series was amazing but i stupidly forgot to keep tabs on her and now realize I've missed several of her books. This will be remedied!
This is book 3 in the Deadliest Lies series. This is the story of Aubrey. She's in Mexico trying to do good in the world. After a tragedy she vows to help the poor by using her architect skills to build them affordable homes of their own getting them out of the slums. She's initially conned out of money she invested to get the project up and running and is now resorting to trying to get a rich man her friends boyfriend knows to invest in her project. They attend a party at his house so she can get a meeting with him. Little did Aubrey know what kind of business man he was. While staying at his house she meets Diego. Every woman's wet dream she's instantly attracted to him and for once in her life considering doing something reckless like seducing him. They're both there for different reasons after the same man. She finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time or maybe it's the right place at the right time for her.
I read this in record time. I absolutely devoured it! I loved every single second of it!.
Aubrey was such a great character. Innocent, Naive, do-gooder but also sexy, funny and brave. She finds herself at every turn in Diego's path and what a path to be in! He's sexy, dangerous and skilled but he's also protective, kind and romantic. You will fall in love with both of them.
The story is action packed. You think they're out of danger and boom something else happens. Fate throws them together regardless of whether they want to or not. He rescues her time and time again but make no mistake she's definitely no helpless heroine. She has a temper that flares regardless of who she's dealing with. I laughed out loud several times at her inner ramblings that usually poured out of her mouth too. Diego often found himself pulling his hair out at her. I loved this about them they were polar opposites but they just matched perfectly. There's mystery in here that will keep you guessing who the mastermind is they're after. I didn't guess until pretty close to the end when it clicked.
The love scenes were hot and steamy and passionate but also fun! They'll get you panting and wanting to learn another language!
I'm off to read the first two books in the series!! Highly highly go go go click that one click button recommend this book!! -
*I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinion stated are solely my own and no one else's*
Aubrey is a do-gooder who wants to build affordable housing for the less fortunate in Mexico. She goes to Cassa Bella as an uninvited guest, hoping to convince Juan Mendoza, to fund her humanitarian project.
Aubrey is enjoying the views when she notices a hot sexy guy striping across the way. Does she look away? Hell no, can't say I blame her ;). Her tongue is practically hanging out lol. Aubrey and Diego have mind blowing sex: the completely dirty and filthy kind. As events unfold, Aubrey finds herself on the run with Diego.
She builds things and wants to help others whereas; he destroys things and terminates people for a living. Can two opposites attract?
Wow, this was a brilliant book from start to finish. It's well written, funny, entertaining with lots of action and suspense.
I couldn't stop laughing at Aubrey in the beginning when she's blatantly glued to the window, drooling over Diego stripping lol - she's definitely naughty but I can't say I blame her for looking ;). The sex scenes were scorching hot and don't even get me started on the Spanish dirty talking - I'm fanning myself - could it get anymore sexier! Aubrey was strong, independent but naive and made bad choices that continuously put her in harms way. I loved their bantering it was always entertaining and funny, I couldn't stop laughing when she told him, she hoped he got screwed by a fish lol.
Diego was hot, dreamy and damn sexy. He's cocky, arrogant and at times I felt like punching him,
"yeah. Well, you know what I like. When your mouth is closed and your legs are spread."
I absolutely loved Hit Man: it was sexy, steamy and the characters were likeable and complemented each other nicely. I loved how their relationship slowly developed and intensified as the story progressed. I had high expectations after reading Mercenary and Michele didn't disappoint, she delivered a book which exceeded my expectations. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. -
I've wanted sexy Diego's story ever since I read Rogue and it was even better than I was hoping for! I just loved getting to know him, his heroine, and their story. And seriously, what a story it was! Hit Man was totally amazeballs and I completely loved, loved, loved it!
Aubrey is a total hoot! She reminds me of me - I would definitely be the one to find myself in trouble by doing nothing more than being in the wrong place at the wrong time. It was so amusing and she really was a great sport about everything. Aubrey truly is wonderful though, she's kind and compassionate, she's sweet and always tries to lighten the mood and see the good in people even if they can't always see it themselves. Aubrey is one awesome, kicka*s heroine and I positively loved her!
I loved Diego in Rogue and I only fell for him more once I actually got inside his head - and how could I not?! He's so passionate and full of life and energy and emotion that even when he's being a stubborn jerk at times, you still want to be around him and want his attention. Diego isn't subtle or low-key, he's without a doubt the "go big or go home" type and he always goes big and I loved that about him. I loved how wild and untamed he was, I loved his moments of sweetfulness and thoughtfulness - I just loved Diego!
Hit Man, as you can imagine it, was so full of passion and life that it pretty much had me going from the start all the way to finish line. It breathed excitement, exuded danger, oozed with sexual tension, and melted you with heart and love. Hit Man was utterly fantastic, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I absolutely cannot wait to read more of this series!
Hit Man is the third book in the Deadliest Lies series but it can be read as a standalone, it's told from Diego and Aubrey's POV, and they got a good happy ending!
~ Sonja, 5 Stars -
Hit Man is the third installment of the Deadliest Lies series by Michele Mannon.
He always gets what he wants.
The seasoned seducer, who probably charms the panties off of every woman he meets. Diego is handsome. Arrogant. Dangerous. Far more dangerous than anyone I've ever met. And with one look from across a crowded room he has me; hook line and sinker, I'm his for the night.
Diego is not a man to mess with, I know that. I just can't seem to resist his kiss, his touch. But can I trust him with my heart, with my body?
I'm being hunted for something I may or may not have seen, and Diego is my only way out of a world of death and destruction. If only I can believe his dark promises.
Be still my beating heart. That seducer, Diego has stolen my heart! Diego doesn’t believe he’s a hero, but whenever Aubrey get’s herself into trouble, he’s right there helping her. He might not be on a white horse when he’s doing the saving, but this man has a heart of gold. Aubrey and Diego have hot chemistry that keeps the midnight oil burning. Along with great chemistry, Michele Mannon gives us suspense that just keeps on building. Hit Man was a fantastic read and I can’t wait for the next installment of the Deadliest Lies series.
I highly recommend the Deadliest Lies series!

I. Loved. This. Book!
This is my second book by Ms. Mannon. I read Mercenary - where I met Diego and got intrigued by him - and liked it. But this book? I couldn't put it down. I didn't want to put it down. I wanted to keep on reading.
Let me start with how much I loved our heroine. Aubrey is an architect in Mexico City. She wants to make a difference, investing all her money into a non-profit organization that would built houses in the poor neighborhoods. But she gets cheated out of her money, gets her passport taken by a little boy she teaches English to and gets herself into all sort of trouble, without wanting to.
All because she's a do-gooder, as Diego puts it.
Diego. Whoa, that man! He was infuriatingly sexy. Intense and such a dirty talker! Be still, my heart! He always ended up having to save Aubrey or get her out of a sticky situation. But she's no damsel in distress. She only has one breakdown - it's understandable, she was a hostage - and she manages to keep a level head.
All that being said and done, these two are perfect together!
I highly recommend this book to anyone. It's action-packed galore, sex, badass guys kicking bad guy ass. I can't wait for more and I'm definitely going to be rereading this one.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book. My rating is 5+++ stars. -
Stars: 4
Hit Man was a good book to read, it was written well. However I did think the book was a little long at times and did take me a little to get into it, but once I got going with reading, it turned out to be a good read and I did enjoy. I had never read anything written by Michele Mannon until Hit Man and I will read more of her books in the future.
Hit Man is about Aubrey and Diego. Aubrey goes to Mexico thinking she will be helping build better housing for those who don't have homes that are habitable, Diego is some sort of under cover investigator for a private security firm. Aubrey ends up getting into some trouble and Diego comes to her rescue. They end up going on a wild run. Where Aubrey seems to find trouble for Diego to help her out. They go through some interesting things to finally get to the happy ever after.
As I already said Hit Man was written well and a good read I did find that sometimes it went on a little to long. However in the end it was worth the time to read. So I do recommend taking the time to grab and read. Thank you Michele for letting me read Hit Man, I did enjoy it, so happy reading folks! -
Michele Mannon did a fabulous job on this book ! HIT MAN is the third book in the Deadliest Lies and it is a super awesome read.
I loved Diego and Aubrey. They were both strong funny characters who captured my emotions. Aubrey kept getting in the way of Diego's assignment but the hardened hit man couldn't let anything bad happen to her. He kept telling himself that he wouldn't but then she would stumble right into the thick of trouble and here he went running to the rescue. Their interactions and banter was charming with so many funny lines that I constantly had a smile on my face while reading this book.
The suspense was fantastic too. The mystery and surprises just kept building until the end. Even then I was left looking forward to the next book as the mystery and suspense promises to be continued. I highly recommend this book / series to anyone. FIVE FLYING STARS TO HIT MAN !!!
I received a complimentary Netgalley copy from the publisher. I voluntarily reviewed this book. -
I LOVED this book! Since it's a hitman romance, I guess that makes it a Dark romance but this was so different than other books. First off it's funny. I love how strong and confident Aubrey is. Diego is used to getting what he wants but Aubrey drives him insane...funny at times, sexy at others, and still sad also. Diego is on a mission to find out what's goin on with Juan Carlos, a dangerous man who kills without a thought. Aubrey is in Mexico City after a loss of her savings with a non-profit agency that went belly up. She wants to meet with Juan to see if he'd front the money to support the non-profit. Diego is constantly saving Aubrey, who doesn't always realize she needs saving but she is always getting into trouble. I loved this read and can't wait to read more by this author..hopefully a continuation of this series with McDuff and a woman with an unknown name or the head of TORC and Diego's sister!
*My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read -
So when you see the title hitman you think you know someone who is in fact a hitman. Get in get out boom their dead. Noooooo this is completely different than other hitman novels. Diego is undercover kind of sorta playing apart in the bad guys entourage of villains. He is trying to find out what the man is up to. He is like a top secret spy because you never really figure out exactly what or who he works for or does. Enter Aubrey, wrong place wrong time type of gal, who pretty much screws him up left and right without actually meaning to causing him to have to reevaluate plans that have been made for over a year. It's a great story line and the off the charts chemistry for these two really burns the pages. They can't seem to keep their hands off even when they say they hate each other. Fantastic ending, Diego is the master of boom!
-
Hit Man is the third book of The Deadliest Lies series by Michele Mannon. This is Diego's story and he is scorching hot in this. Ms. Mannon's knack to write heroes whose halo is bruised and not shiny but a halo nonetheless is a huge reason I enjoy this series. We find ourselves in Mexico where a female architect by the name of Aubrey is looking to do good. She has a strong sense of right and wrong. Her path crosses with Diego's and to say these two together are intense and exciting is an understatement. He is my favorite hero by far. Aubrey's innocence and naïveté in her quest to create better homes for the poorest of the area brings out Diego's protectiveness. Pick up this series. It's wicked good. Looking forward to the next installment.

I like this book a lot. It’s guilty pleasure. It’s just a great, sexy read, the perfect vacation book and you’ll fall in love with Diego. He's described as "the man who always gets what he wants, the seasoned seducer, who probably charms the panties off of every woman he meets.” Yep, that got my attention. Diego is handsome, arrogant and dangerous, just what you want in your “hit man.”
This book is action packed, filled with suspense, twists and turns and yes sex. Then there’s the do-gooder Aubrey who’s in Mexico City to help the less fortunate but keeps getting in Diego’s way. Great chemistry between the two main characters. I read this without realizing it was book 3 of a series. I don’t feel like I missed anything, a perfect stand-alone. I got this book for free, this is my honest review and no promises were made. -
Wow! This is the first book I have read in the Deadliest Lies series by Michele Mannon. Hit Man kept me glued to the pages. Intense, sexy, fast paced, and action packed .
Undercover agents with more than deadly skills. Diego is as deadly as they come but he also has another side that will make you swoon. Meeting Aubrey brought out the "sensitive" Diego.
I absolutely loved this book and plan on reading the prior books in this series. Diego has won my heart! -
Action packed love story. You'll at love to hate Diego but you'll love him all the more in the end. Aubrey was on a mission but disrupted one and found desire in the process. Michele I enjoyed every sex fiend moment and the action that brought it out with you writing. The back and forth point of views my favorite style. Can wait to read the others. A must read series even though I've only read one of the series, I know it is worth it with just reading this one.

This is Book 3 in the "Deadliest Lies" Series and it was a wonderful read! Diego Romero is everything I love in a hero. He is sexy, badass, tough as nails and sweet, protective and hot.
Diego was acting as an undercover agent and his character is awesome!
I have heard about Diego in previous books and e really deserved his own book! Aubrey and Diego are a great couple and the chemistry between them is hot and awesome!
Great read! Highly recommended!

Hit man is the third book in Michele Mannon's hawt men , errr, I mean Deadliest Lies series but the first I've read by her. It's one fantastic read and I'm not sorry I started with Diego's story. The man is sex on a stick, err, I mean he's sexy and boy does he have a dirty mouth. He's also very valiant being an alpha male and all the that. The other central character in this story is Audrey, an American in Mexico City who gets caught up in a money scheme and is forced to teach at a posh grade school.
When Aubrey and Diego's paths cross and she gets an eyeful of him she very eloquently describes his beautiful physique "God created man. And then God created man. And, even from this angle, this guy is as hot as they come." Indeed, Diego undressing is "Art. In. Motion.". When they end up at the same "house party" it appears they are meant to go to battle against some really really bad guys together.
Mannons' writing is wonderful. She's very creative and funny as we see in an example of Diego's orders "My orders are to CLIT— Capture, Loosen Up, Interrogate, Terminate." and her characters are well developed through the dialogue and vivid banter. There's high drama as they push and pull at each other, treating each other as enemies and potential lovers."Just like that, in an act so simple, so sweet and silly and charming, I know deep down in my bones, I’m a goner. And if that’s not bad enough, she’s . . . not done. “You”— she pokes me in the arm—“ haven’t seen unbelievable yet.” “Dios mío,” I murmur, ..."
Try as they might, they get little private time between fending off one bad man after another. Because Diego's street creds mean he's tied to dangerous thugs he's a bit apprehensive to be involved with a sweet girl like Aubrey. Assuming he knows best, he pushes her away “You build things,” I tell her in a neutral tone, not giving anything away. I gesture to the hacienda. “And I blow things up.” But he find that he can't protect her like he needs to he's forced to pull her back in, creating a conundrum - it's sweet to see this bad-a$$ fall.
Hit Man is a fast paced, action-packed, romantic-suspense read that you can read as a standalone ( like I have). But it includes characters from books one and two of the series and my appetite is thoroughly whetted to discover more about these bad/good men of. I imagine I will want to binge read them as well. On a personal note, I read this while vacationing in Mexico and I found myself muttering "Dios mío" the rest of my trip. 4.5 stars and recommendation!
