Brie survived to her senior year at Santa Cruz Witch Academy and just wants to graduate so she can go to art college. But her new roommate is a transfer student who is not the average witch-in-training. Willow is part wolf shifter and struggling to control her abilities. Shy Brie knows what it's like to be the odd one out and she wants to help her new friend fit in.
But Brie is still being targeted by a hostile Fae and her minions in the human world. Her enemies must have a spy inside the school. One of her fellow students is reporting her every move. Is it the mean girl bully? Someone in her magic classes? Or even one of her friends?
As Brie tries to keep her grades up and stay out of trouble, she needs help from Willow and her other friends to investigate the threat inside the school. What she learns will challenge her beliefs and force her to make tough choices. The enemy seems to have no morals at all and they've killed before.
What is Brie willing to do to stop them?
The Daring Witch: Year Two (Santa Cruz Witch Academy #3) Reviews

While I have enjoyed the series, I found the final chapter to have a very unsatisfactory, rushing ending that left a lot of plot threads dangling, especially

I loved this final book. There’s so much going on but it’s a fun read that once started I found myself lost into this world again! It’s Brie’s final year at the academy and she has a new roommate, a witch / shifter struggling to control her powers. Of course Brie wants to help but as you would expect not all goes to plan. It’s a fab ya adventure with surprises, twists, friendship, enemies and an ending I did not see coming!

2,5 / 5 Stars
So... I'm sad to report, that this was kind of a let-down. Not only as a stand-alone, but also as the final to the series.
The plot sounded really exciting and the addition of a werwolf/shifter sounded amazing as well, but the execution of things left me feeling kind of meh.
So first of all: Willow.
She's our wolf and the newest cast member and I absolutly loved her. I was a bit scared for her, since I've fallen in love with Brie's past romantic interests as well, just for the story to rip my heart out and laugh in my face. #Luciedeservedbetter. Speaking of past romantic interests, Gabriella gets a cameo and I was so happy to see her. <3 I hope Lucie - my love - is having a great life out there.
Anyways, Willow. She was giving me ace vibes almost the second we met her. If you're wondering why I'm pulling this headcanon out of my ass right now, well, there's a scene in there, where Brie & Willow have a talk, because Brie was beeing mean behind Willows back and so she's hurt and says something along the lines of "Is it, because I'm not queer enough for your group?"
Now, if she were straight, she would have said that line a little differently, wouldn't she? But she said queer enough, implying, that she WAS queer in some way, but felt excluded by parts of the community because her identidy probably isn't L, G or T. We never get a confirmation on wheater or not she's ace, or aro but another of her convos with Brie made my heart ache again for her.
As much as I loved her though, it still felt like she could - and should - have gotten more time. As in, time to know her better, time with Brie and time in the spotlight. I believe it's got something to do with the familiar which we did NOT need at all, that got thrown into the story and that kind of becomes Brie's new protector... which... yeah, I get that familiar's are supposed to do that, but did the story really need Brie to have one? Short answer: No. Long answer: Still no, but with more rambling and complaining about how the familiar ruined Willow & Brie's potential team-up moment.
Honesty, looking back, I kind of have to say, that Willow adds nothing to the story. And that hurts.
This is also the only book in the triology, that isn't giving Brie a gf, which I found ... an intersting choice. I kind of hoped that Willow & Brie would get together, and once I started reading Willow as aro/ace, I kind of hoped they'd have a 'Zucchini' talk. (Zucchini = Partner in a Queer Platonic Relationship). It seemed like Willow would have liked that, but Brie was beeing an ass, so no Zucchini action.
I liked maybe 5% of the whole Samantha plot-line. As in, I liked how Brie reacted once she found out that she had homophobic parents. Even if people are assholes, you don't out them just cause you feel like it. Made me appreciate Brie as a character a whole lot more. The rest of that plot-line wasn't that great. For once: EVEN if you suspect her to be the spy, girl, Loki - I'm just gonna call him that even though I know that he uses another name in this one - TOLD you, that your grandma could:
a) use more than one spy
b) charm/brainwash people
Noone in that whole group tried to even entertain the possibility, that MAYBE, just MAYBE, they could try to look for other spys and MAYBE, just MAYBE, they shouldn't waste all of their time and energy on ONE sinlge SUSPECT. That's right, SUSPECT, because there was no proof, not even a little that made real, honest sense, besides: She's a bitch, just like she always was.
The spy reveal was the worst thing I've ever read ... ok, not really, but I hated it. It didn't feel smart, it wasn't forshadowed and it was over before I had even time to blink. Their motive was horrible and I felt betrayed. Not in the good way, but in the bad way.
I was also very angry about the whole "Brie's future career" scene's. I was happy once Brie defended herself, because I've had to do the same against people who claimed to know better than me. I was happy Brie was trying to do what made her happy, but then, at the end of things, she's like "Maybe you're right, maybe you really knew better what makes me happy then I do" and I'm like "Bro".
I was really hoping for this book to be amazing and I had been looking forward to finishing the series, but now I'm kind of sad how everything ended. -
This book was excellent and is a great addition to the series. It was well written and the story and characters were well developed. I loved the individual character personalities and watching the relationship dynamics change and develop through the books. The story was action packed and full of twists and turns. It had suspense, intrigue and emotion. I’d highly recommend this book and this series as a whole!!

This was fun to read! Brie has quite the task assigned to her by her Patron. I like the new character, Willow! I also loved Brie’s familiar. There were several shocking revelations that definitely affected the group of friends. I did like the ending, that was awesome.
