I mainly read the introductory section which is very useful in re-situating peasants unrest in their longue durée context and meanings, as well as David Dickson's and David Miller's pieces, focusing on the disturbances in the 1790s. I skimmed through the rest.
David Miller's article, especially, should be read in conjunction with the volume on edited sources on the Defenders and Peep O'Day Boys, as it is, in fact, his true analysis of these sources.
An interesting book but, as all books of collected essays, one with various degrees of interest for the reader.
