Thoroughly pleased to have finished this bundle of essays. The first two made me believe I was in for a rote declaration of "marxist" principles, but the rest is solidly grounded in a developing and applied critique of political economy. It taught me a few things about the MR school's take on national economies and the contradictions of socialist construction. My prior experience with Samir Amin had me believe that imperialism would feature at the centre of every analysis; this is not the case, in these essays at least.
