Being the private eye of the future ain't easy. Especially when you got a bad case of amnesia and a good case of stumbling into trouble. But the rent's gotta be paid and booze ain't for free, so Mick Trubble takes cases. When folks find themselves in a particular sort of bind, they don't run to the cops. They find themselves a Troubleshooter.
Whether it's a deal gone sour, recovery of stolen goods, or just a good ol' fashioned revenge job, Mick Trubble is your man. 'Cause trouble is his business. And when business is trouble, then business is good.
Four Shots is a collection of the first four Troubleshooter short works. Forget shaken or stirred; these tales are poured up straight and pack a helluva wallop.

Great collection.
Loved this. I’m a big fan of noir and this hit the spot. Perfect dialogue and actions sequences too. I’d recommend to anyone who likes noir. -
This collection of four shorts contains several of the smaller case files from Troubleshooter Mick Trubble, a PI patterned after Bogart but operating in a futuristic, crime-ridden Blade Runner world. Somewhere in there the term "Dieselpunk" has been used. The author's writing is slick and sharp, but also campy and pulpy, and I think that's what I appreciate the most, with the rough-hewn, soft-hearted character of Trubble second. Highly recommended.
This collection contains,
The Wise Man Says,
Red-Eyed Killer,
Hard Luck Grift, and
Little White Bird. They take place either immediately before or immediately after the full length novel,
New Haven Blues. -
This was a fun read. The author's self-description is quite accurate. My only minor complaint is that the post-apocalyptic, steampunk setting wasn't sufficiently relevant to the story. For the most part, it could have happened anywhere and anytime.
