5 Stars to Coming Together: Welcome To Carson Book Two by author Renee Harless.
    My Rating: 5
    Cover: 5
    Release Date: April 18, 2017
    Read: April 5, 2017
    POV: Third-person dual perspectives
    Standalone
    Series: Welcome To Carson
    Genres: Romance, Suspense

    Austin and Nikki.....

This is my first book by Renee Harless. I absolutely loved it! This book not only had a romantic and suspenseful story, there were amazing secondary characters as well. Since I began this series with book two, I need to go back and read book one which features Logan and Avery. I am really looking forward to reading that one. I loved meeting Logan and Avery in this book.

Austin and Nikki had a brief relationship together before she left suddenly. This story opens with Austin's surprise and anger when Nikki returns. When she left she broke his heart and annihilated his trust. Austin now has a responsibility in the baby they created but that doesn't mean he wants her back.

Nikki will have her hands full trying to prove to Austin that he can trust her again. Nikki believed she had good reasons for leaving the way she did. However, if she would have communicated her concerns with Austin, things would have been different.

As a personal preference, I am not a fan of a heroine that keeps her pregnancy/child a secret from the father. Something about that trope rubs me the wrong way. That said, I was not Nikki's biggest fan as a result. As I got to know her and some of her backstory, I understood her better. I found her to be honest and sincere. Also, I liked the fact that Nikki wanted to be independent and not taken care of. I respected that given her feelings about that, she hesitantly accepted Austin's help and kindness. Especially when he still hadn't given her his trust yet.

Austin was an amazing hero. He was intense at times, passionate, loyal and upstanding. I truly adored him.

Aside from the angst of their own relationship and working towards fixing it, there was mystery and suspense as well. Many 'feels' in this book. In addition there were new characters introduced. The next book will feature another one of Austin's sisters and a sexy FBI agent. I better hurry and catch up on book one before book three is out.

I am so happy and relieved that Nikki and Austin found their HEA. They worked hard for it and because they loved each other so much, they were able to build a life together. This was a fantastic book! I really recommend it as a 'must' read. Well written; steady-paced and a great cast of characters.

*I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. My opinions are honest and unbiased.*

Austin and Nikki have the passion that most couples only dream about. Deep, connected, alive. Until Nikki leaves. She's pregnant. Her and and Austin have never talked about this being serious or ever wanting a family. Loving him so much, she thinks she's doing what's best for him. When Nikki comes back and announces her pregnancy in a way that is totally her- at his family Christmas- Austin is determined not to let her back into heart. But has she ever left?
Doing what's best for his child, he makes sure Nikki is taken care of. But when lives are put into danger, it becomes difficult for real emotions to hide any longer.
This is an amazing continuation to the Welcome to Carson series. The story was well written and definitely kept you on your toes. I am anxious and excited to get to know more about the Connelly family in future books!!

When it comes to love Nikki Deveraux is doubtful that it is possible to withstand the test of time and more than hesitant to even try to find it, she has witnessed what it is like when love fails and she has no intentions of falling prey to it... but she didn't account on meeting a man quite like Austin Connelly. The moment they meet things get hot and heavy, and feelings start to find their way in, but he made it clear that he wasn't looking for love, so Nikki tried really hard to guard her heart and keep things between them light. But then she finds herself unexpectedly pregnant, and knowing Austin's feelings about a family she decides the best thing for her to do is leave town, and deal with things on her own...without so much as a goodbye!

Austin Connelly thought he had found love once, and was ready to venture down the aisle, but before he could even ask for her hand in marriage, she bailed on him and it crushed him. So, from that point on he decided to avoid love at all costs, he knew there was no way he could endure a heartbreaking loss a second time, so all of his entanglements with woman have been one night stands... but then he meets Nikki, and sticking to one night becomes impossible. They instantly connect and he thinks things are moving in the right direction for them, and then she just up and disappears on him, and once again he is left picking up the pieces of his broken heart. But now Nikki has returned to town, with a bit of unexpected news, and she wants a second chance...question is can his heart handle round two?

This story is one of those stories that has the power to completely wreck you, and then put you back together again... it was freaking amazing!! I went from moments of being completely distraught and broken-hearted, to moments of feeling overwhelming joy...it was one hell of a roller coaster ride!! Being familiar with these two from the first installment, I had my suspicions about how things would play out for them, but I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised with how things turned out. Their story had a bit of mystery mixed in that kept me captivated, and had me on the edge of my seat bracing for the worst, and hoping they would be able to withstand it. I thoroughly enjoyed this one, it was a perfectly blended second chance romance story that left me with a happy heart...and a new book boyfriend to dream about to boot!! Highly recommend!!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this title.

What a Suspenseful, Heartwarming and at times Tender Romance. This is one of those stories that just makes you feel good all over! Even during the tough scenes when things go badly. The author has a wonderful way of drawing you in and keeping you hooked til you get through it!

Austin and Nikki have both been through their own personal kind of hell! Austin’s world was totally destroyed when Nikki ran off and Nikki ran because she just could risk tying ruining Austin’s world when she found out she was pregnant. But Nikki goes through her own hell away from him and realizes she has to come back and Austin about the baby. That is where this story starts; when Nikki waltzes in and announces to Austin and his family she is going to have his baby!

So why happens next? Can they get over their past and remain friends for the sake of the baby? Can Austin let her in even as a friend, for the sake of their child, after she all but destroyed him when she left the 1st time? And what about the troubles at Austin’s work? Is it all tied together and will we get answers to the his work troubles in this, book 2 of the series?

This is a remarkable story that I can't recommend enough! 2 Thumbs Up for another great addition to the Welcome to Carson series. A series this read is anxiously awaiting the next installment to!

    I love second chance romances!!!

Coming together is the second book in the Welcome to Carson Series. While this is part of a series, it is read as a standalone and there is no cliffhanger. Invested in the secondary characters of this novel, I will be going back to read book one and will most definitely read the rest in the series when it comes out!

Austin was deeply hurt when Nikki left him unexpectedly so soon after they got together. But due to living in a small town, escaping her the second time won't be easy.

Forced together again due to an unexpected pregnancy, Austin has to confront his feelings for Nikki whether he wants to or not.

No lie, I was crying by the end of chapter two. That feeling of uncertainty when the one you love doesn't return those feelings and you realize the one thing you want the most is just out of your reach...sigh.

There is suspenseful drama in Coming Together...and I love a slice of mystery too! This book was a winner for me.

    Coming together
    By Renee Harless
    5 stars!

I am loving this series! Oh my gosh talk about captivating reading! This book has just about everything I love in a romantic suspense read! The characters are just so easy to connect with and you can’t help but fall in love with them. There were twists and turns galore and I just could not put it down. I love it when an author can keep me guessing until the end and that’s exactly what she did with this book.
I really like Nikki and Austin from the first book but there were so many questions about what was actually going on with them – and in this book we finally get to find out!!
I have to say that Austin was my favourite character in this book! I loved his dominating yet also soft personality. He clearly loved Nikki even with her ‘temperamental’ behaviour at times. The chemistry between them is undeniable.
Whilst Nikki frustrated me at times I still liked her. I don’t think she’s had the easiest of lives and I really felt for her at times. She did have a habit of jumping to wrong conclusions at times.
This really is shaping up to be a brilliant series; both main and secondary characters are brilliant. I am so excited to read Sydney and Dylan’s story next!

  • Crystal's Book World ~ Crystal Cordova

Coming Together by Renee Harless was a sexy new story that introduces me to the author. I did not read the 1st book in this series...Yet! I will return back to it. So that means that this is a stand alone book too. I love small towns and the way people come together in a time of need. Austin has endured so much heart ache and is not sure if he can give love a second chance. Nikki did a number on him and when she shows up with an unexpected surprise, he is not sure if he is being trapped into a life he is unsure he wants anymore.

Nikki never wanted to leave Austin the way that she did. I have to admit that I thought originally she was heartless. Then you learn her story and reason why she left. My shell cracked and I wanted to jump in the book and save her. But we have sexy Austin to do that. He is not sure if he can let Nikki back in his life, but there are things that he can not forget. I am in awe with this story, and knowing that another book is coming soon I am over the moon about it! I was stuck on this book until the end. Austin is just male perfection <3

Coming Together has me still thinking about it days after finishing this one. I went in prepared for the angst and emotions that just the blurb had triggered but I was so unprepared for how much Coming Together made me feel. I am keeping this review fairly short and that is so that I don’t give away spoilers because trust me this is one book that you don’t want spoiled. The emotions that it pulls from you, that feeling of angst that settles deep into your stomach, the suspense of not knowing what the characters are going to go through. Those are the reasons why I won’t spoil it for you. Nikki and Austin will cement themselves into your heart and soul and refuse to leave. Be prepared to go on an emotional journey my fellow readers, but also be prepared to come out emotionally drained when you are done. This is one I can easily recommend.

This book was really good. I have to admit I liked Austin and Nikki's story better than Avery and Logan's which was shocking because I didn't care for either character in Coming Alive. However, as a couple I loved them. I think I also misunderstood both characters in Coming Alive. In Coming Together I was able to understand both characters since the story revolved around them.

Nikki--was not the air headed ditz I had her pegged as. She was actually incredibly smart and loving.

Austin--was much more than the playboy who would never settle down. I had been so certain that he didn't care about Nikki and was just using her for hookups in Coming Alive that this book completely threw me for a loop. Austin had just been hurt so badly that he was scared to open up again.

Austin and Nikki make a great couple and I was so glad they got their happily ever after add a little suspense and action and the book is set!

Renee Harless created a masterpiece with Coming Together, the second book in the Welcome to Carson series. I started this book and I couldn't put it down. It held me tight to the very end. Coming Together has it all - Romance, drama, suspense, and so much heart. Nikki and Austin have to figure out if their love is worth fighting for. Each have a past that affects how they view their current situation. This book pulled at my heart. I fell in love from page one. The dynamic between these two characters is powerful! Coming Together had me crying ugly tears one chapter then cheering like a madwoman the next. A wonderful HEA, standalone story! Absolutely a MUST READ! Renee Harless has the ability to pull a person into the worlds she creates. To make you feel each emotion. A truly amazing author.

  • Romaine Heart

Austin is heartbroken because the woman that he loves so dearly, Nikki, ran away and is pregnant with his child.
Nikki returns to the small town eventually needing a job and a place to stay. Being the responsible man that he is, Austin immediately moves Nikki into his home and gives her a job. Can they rekindle the love that they once had or is too late?
This book is full of unconditional love, drama, suspense, deceit and a little sex.
I would definitely recommend this book along with the series about the other family members.
I am volunteering an honest review for an advanced reader's copy.

  • Misty Hamilton

The author has a way of drawing you in and keeping your attention through the whole story. As I sat there reading the steamy scenes, and drooling over the perfection of the cover model, I found myself envious of the heroine, Nikki. Austin is an all around alpha with a huge heart, the type of guy a girl would be lucky to have in her life. Of course, no relationship is completely smooth sailing. Austin and Nikki have their share of bumps in the road in their life.
Thank you for another great story, I can't wait to meet the rest of the Carson Series couples!

  • Elena

If you can read first book before this one, do it. It can be read as a standalone, but it's quite obvious that the main characters and their history goes way back from first book.

I have to say that my favourite thing from this book is our lovely Austin. He's flawless. His relationship with his family, with Nikki, his friends make you fall in love with him. Always with the right words and acts. The kind of person who loves unconditionally and never looks back. Nikki is one lucky woman!!

A mature relationship, 2 people who communicate with each other once that the secret is out of the way and they fight for their love:)

  • Mardell Bonasso

This is book two of a series. I completely enjoyed this book as well. Austin and Nikki's story is very good and very well written. This book had a good balance of drama, the love of family, loyalty, love and romance. One quote that stuck out to me was said by Nikki's father, "The best things in life are unexpected". I have found this to be true many many times. I am so enjoying this series and look forward to Sydney and Dylan's story.

  • Megan Harrington

5 stars because it is worthy! This story covers the love of a Nikki and Austin. They were mentioned in the first book of the series. Coming Together take off right where the first book ends. Nikki and Austin have that once in a lifetime love that a lot o people dream about. Then Nikki does what she thinks is best and runs away. I loved how the author intertwined the characters. You are able to find out more about Avery and Logan. This is a MUST READ.

  • Megan Mary

Nikki and Austin 😍 I just LOVED these two! This is my first book by Renee Harless and I enjoyed the story of Austin and Nikki. I was drawn into the storyline and was intrigued as to where the story was going.

Coming Together had action, suspense, drama and romance. Everything I love about a book. This book is about how two people who thought their relationship couldn't work come together against the odds.

Nikki returns after disappearing on Austin. There relationship or lack of is put through a test or two and they had a gain the trust of each other all over again.

Grab your copy today to find out more about Austin and Nikki's story.

P.S. I need to know more about Dylan and Sydney's story.

  • Nicole

Am awesome read with amazing characters and a great storyline.

  • Colleen (The Book Lover Blog)

Loved it!!! Austin and Nikki are so sweet <3 #Austin is my new fav, sorry Logan.

I think that Renee couldn’t have picked a better title. The story wasn’t just about Nikki and Austin coming together, but how the family and whole close-knit town comes together to support one another. The romance between Austin and Nikki was sweet and romantic, and their chemistry was hot! I also thought that the supporting characters were interesting and well written. There are a couple that I’m particularly fond of *cough* Dylan and Sydney.

Overall, Coming Together was an engaging romance, with the added elements of suspense and mystery. I thoroughly enjoyed reading book two in the Welcome to Carson series and I cannot wait to read what Renee will come up with next for this group of characters.

Do I recommend this book? Y.E.S! But even though it can be read as a standalone, I recommend that you read book one- if you haven’t already- not because things may confuse you, but because Coming Alive was awesome!

  • Monja De Jager

I loved this book! It is my first time reading Renee's work and I absolutely loved it. Can't waiting for the next Carson book!

Austin and Nikki have a complicated story, that is influenced by their pasts. It rules their present until they allow it not to!
Austin is wary of commitment, until he meets Nikki, he is planning a future with her. He is very much a doer and can do with some assistance on his short temper(my opinion). He really is a good guy though.

Nikki has past hurts and while her and Austin are together they never really define their relationship, so she is unsure of where she stands with him. She has no doubt she is in love with him, but is floundering a bit.

Add some complications, mistrust, miscommunication and you have a disaster in the making. Things fall apart and then after a couple of months, Nikki makes an appearance, this changes things for everyone.

This book has a little of everything, love, hope, despair, mistrust, miscommunication, a psycho, an extended family with their own dramas, faith, growing up,amazing friends who interfere a little (for the good of the couple) and skulduggery.

These two are made for each other, but have a lot of bumps in the road to overcome, when they overcome those, there are major roadblocks that pop up, they overcome those as well. They do get their HEA, but it takes some hope, trust and commitment to get there.

I loved the authors writing style, it is flowing and fast paced. The characters are well developed. The plot is well thought out and brought together with no gaps. The scene is set for spin off's. Overall, no complaints! A well written book that I thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend to others.
    A well deserved 5 stars.

I voluntarily read this ARC, and this review is based on how I experienced the book, thus, it is an honest review.
