Zack Nicholson is more than just a handsome face.
He is a liar.
He is a thief.
He is the bane of my existence.

Zack is my college ex's best friend and we only agreed on one thing - we both hated each other.

The years haven't changed my dislike, or attraction, of my nemesis, who is now vying for the same position I'm working so hard for.

I'm completely screwed.

Blake Holliday is gorgeous.
She is a nerd.
She is rude.
She knows how to push every one of my buttons.

Blake didn't give me the time of day from the moment I met her - and that pissed me off.

I haven't seen her for six years, and when she strolls into that conference room with a chip on her shoulder I want to do nothing more than knock it down. Except my desire for her is stronger than ever.

I'm completely screwed.

Eeep! One of my favorite things ever! A steamy enemies to lovers office romance!! Hollllla!

I absolutely fell head over heels with Zack. Gah! What a sweetheart! He's straightforward, sexy, and so damn sweet! A great male lead! The sexual tension between the main characters was very well done. The premise of the book revolves around an event in college that had a huge impact on Wyatt, the female lead. She thinks Zack is somewhat responsible, so he has his work cut out for him to win her heart. And he was more than willing to put in work!

The angst and banter was well done. The writing was good. But the absolute best thing about this book was Zack. Unfortunately, I had some ticky little issues with Wyatt, the cover, and a couple situations involving the secondary characters. Not so much that it distracted terribly from the overall story.

All in all, it was a quick and entertaining read.

I am not sure what it was, or rather wasn't, about this book. But, it just didn't work for me. I struggled in parts to finish it, and I was definitely fighting the desire to skim to see if the connection to the characters appeared for me.

Blake and Zach have known one another since college and there was a misunderstanding that he was responsible for something that was humiliating for Blake, so she hates him even 6 years later. But, is this really a reason to hate him? It never comes up, it is never really addressed, and she says herself that she put it behind her quickly and moved on.

Well, this thing that she thinks Zach was responsible for most certainly isn't a small thing. And, it's not the kind of thing you let go. So, her reaction to this seemed really off to me.

As a result, this book felt somewhat flat emotionally, like no one in the book was actually reacting to anything that happened in a way that seemed authentic.

This made all of the book tough for me to connect with. The things that should have been emotionally heavy hitting for me seemed like things that didn't really matter. The events that should have been a long time coming seemed to just sort of sneak in and just...happen.

The romance, again in my opinion, just sort of plodded along. I did believe in the connection between Blake and Zach...but, I never believed that they were really working from a place of dislike, so a lot of the conversations and some of the things that happened seemed, off in the pacing of the book. Like the author wanted us to believe they disliked one another, but was telling us rather than showing us.

I am sure there will be plenty of others who feel differently, but the connection for this title and the characters just wasn't present for me. I am not able to recommend this title.

When Blake tries to do something impulsive for once, it backfires in a huge way and makes her then boyfriend into her enemy. His best friend, Zack, already hated her, but when she found out Zack was the one who sent her pic to the entire frat, let's just say holding a grudge was an understatement. Now 6 years later, she's started her own marketing firm with her best friend, and finds that she's competing with Zack for a 10-year contract with guess who? Yep, the company her ex is set to run someday. Will Blake and Zack be able to work together or will their hostility (that's just masking a long denied attraction) ruin any chance either has of winning the contract?

I have to admit that I skimmed a bit while reading Scr*w You. Although it was mostly entertaining, and really steamy, I kept rolling my eyes at both Blake and Zack, especially Blake. All the hostility they had for each other wasn't really warranted. The explanation for Zack's anger toward her wasn't even given til near the end, and it was a pretty weak reason as far as I'm concerned. I can understand Blake's anger, BUT only because she never bothered to actually ask Zack if he had done what she was told he had done. All the anger could have been quashed years ago if they had had one simple, honest conversation. Honestly, I felt like Blake was immature and pretty damn stupid to believe her ex, whom she had just caught cheating on her. And in her present, it didn't seem her maturity level had increased much. The anger she had was pretty toxic and it made her unlikable. Zack turned out to be a sweetheart, though, even if his reasoning for hating her back then was stupid. He's the reason for the 3.5 stars. If he hadn't turned out to be so sweet and romantic I wouldn't have been able to rate this 3.5 stars because Blake drove me nuts with her immaturity and her anger.

It's a steamy office romance where the two competing interns are on verbal battle from day 1. Blake Holliday was betrayed in the worse way possible by her college boyfriend David Fleming and his frat brother Zach Nicholson. Therein starts the lifelong enmity and now that they are both vying for the lucrative Fleming Coffee chain contract, Zach and Blake are thrown together in the same intern training programme, which means more hours together and more issues to be loggerheads at. More competition means more arguments, more steam, more passion and hence more sexy times. It's enjoyable and fast read.

    description

“You called this a grudge match, and perhaps that is the best term to use. Two rival companies competing against each other to secure a ten-year contract for one of the fastest growing cafes and companies in the country. So, now ask yourself. What are you willing to do to secure this contract?”

    description

They will stop at nothing though. Blake need to work double hard because of close friendship of David and Zach, yet as the time passes and the more time they spend together, the intense magnetism between them just makes it impossible for each of them to escape unscathed. They get deeper and deeper and hearts end up getting intertwined

    description

He’s like an animal - wild, unbridled, feral - taking what he wants and giving me what I need.
Go pick up the book when it releases. It's dripping with passion and heavy with witty humour. A delightful read

A enemies to lovers story with a contradictory h and a truly nice H
H and h are at university where she allows her ex-boyfriend to make a fool of her while blaming his friend, our H, for his misdeeds. h swallows all that her ex feeds her and is happy to hate H ... they meet some years later when they pitch for the same contract, held by the ex's company.
As part of the vetting process they are tasked with a list of jobs which they have to complete
and here comes the contradiction; h was a strong, savvy, professional woman but she was also a woman who had been completely taken in by her ex's lies and even in the present day, refused to see the H's real qualities, insisting on seeing him through the dirty lens the ex puts on her eyes
They fall in love and are happy together but again the ex interferes and she runs away from the H again .... but she redeems herself, by realising the ex's lies and by saying sorry to the H herself ...
H is a really nice guy and while I enjoyed reading the book and while I liked h as well, I cannot help thinking it wouldn't take much for her to jump on some other bandwagon and distrusting H again ...
The ex was also punished for his machinations by his grandfather; he was not going to lead the company even in future as his grandfather deems him not suitable ... he also needed a few solid thumps with a cast iron skillet!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

Did you ever send an explicit picture to your significant other? well, I sent one to my ex back in college and his best friend Zack found it and showed it to the entire fraternity. Sure, I should have known bgetter, but I was young, stupid, and in love. Six year later, I am bidding on a project for my ex's company against my nemesis, his best friend. Now Zack's trying to make my life a holy terror whil my ex has me jumping through hoops to land this job. A job that I need regardless of how my bodyreacts to Zack, buy my heart may have a completely different contract in mind.

I am a huge fan of enemies to lovers books. This book is about two intens who are in a battle from day one. This is the story of Blake Holliday, her college boyfriend David Fleming, who by the way is the worst ever since he betrayed her in the worst way possible, and Zach Nicholson. These two hate each other since Blake send a racy pic to David and Zach got ahold of it and shared it with their whole fraternity. These two hate each other so bad and find themselves after the same job. A contract with the Fleming Coffee chain contract. This will throw Zach and Blake together and the sparks will start flying. This is a fast read that I really enjoyed. If you like enemies to lovers book you are sure to like this Renee Harless book,

This was such a fun book to read! I loved everything about it to be honest. Zack and Blake are a great couple. Here's the thing they knew each other in college but Blake didn't have her eye on him then. He was the jerk's best friend who destroyed her life. Not to ruin it, but he's not that guy. He's a sweet charming, sexy, smart and fantastic at his job. He is dedicated and determined. He has always had an attraction for Blake but fate had other plans. Blake is a great character as well. She didn't let the one thing that almost costs her college education stand in her way. Sure she has the anger but she still accomplished so much. She's up for huge promotion but big problem is that her ex is in charge of who gets it. Blake and Zack work really well together and have an amazing relationship. These two aren't perfect though. The past and the truth needs to come out. When it does, Blake sees her ex for what he is and just makes him a bigger jerk then he was before. I liked the flow of the story. It just all tied together and they got their happy ever after. Fantastic book with fun characters!

Scr*w You is an enemy to lovers romance that will have you laughing, wanting to take a hot poker to certain characters for their asshole ways, fanning yourself to cool off due to the hotness factor, and just an overall good romance that you will enjoy. Zack and Blake have a history, one that is filled with hateful jabs, accusations and broken trust, but what if what you thought had happened one way really happened another and you believed the lie that you were told?

Blake and Zack have a chemistry that is easy to see early on in this one. Blake was betrayed when a picture she sent her ex was sent to others, by Zack, but did he really do it or not? The way these two go back and forth at each other you begin to wonder if Zack really did do what Blake believes he did, but don’t forget her asshole ex is the key person who decides who gets the contract both Blake and Zack are going for and trust me this guy is slime. There is a fine line between hate and love at times and these two straddle that line throughout the book.

I really enjoyed Scr*w You, I was able to read this easily in one afternoon and I think most will enjoy this one like I did.

  • Patricia (Spellbound Stories Trish)

This book I must say is definitely one of Renee’s hottest books to date! The steam factor from start to finish was off the charts!

Blake and Zach were so much alike that they clashed epically and just like the other when things didn’t go as planned they’d explode and explode they did for 4 yrs before everything crumbled and went up in smoke! Any chance at friendship out the door! 6 yes later and fate threw them together again and this time the angst added with hate made for one steamy combustion after the other! Their quick wit and determination had these two going at each other in more ways then one!

Finally feeling like life is coming together they both drop their walls only to be damaged again by the hate of another! The question now is can they find what they should’ve found all those years ago; LOVE!

I loved Blake’s big beautiful heart and the determination she put forth in life! She was strong and resilient but loved with her whole heart! Zach was kind and courteous and though he didn’t seem like it at first he was a true gentleman!

One of my top faves of Renee’s and I’m hoping to get a Sofie book in the future!

I really enjoyed this really well thought out and plotted story. I laughed at a lot reading this book but God did my heart break through many scenes. I was hooked straight after the first chapter and prayed, hoped and pleaded for one of the characters to get his comeuppance.

This story is a beautiful love story that was 10 years in the making. Blake had her life and heart ruined by her ex David and his friend Zack, or so Blake is lead to believe. Year of humiliation that she felt followed her, which was so hard to read. I absolutely thought Blake was brilliant in this book and as for the two men mentioned well you have to read it and find out.

My only bug bare in this book is that it didn't really define when the point of view changed. I was left confused as who was talking and it was a little off putting which I have reflected in my stars. All in all this book was a really good read that I enjoyed and I will be definitely be reading more from this author. A totally recommend read for me.

This was a steamy enemies to lovers book. The heroine was awesome and had a backbone. Zack always loved Blake but his best friend got to her first in college and he stepped aside but they always hated each other after that and he really didn’t know why. Then something terrible happened senior year of college and it got worse. Fast forward 6 years and they see each other again and he’s still smitten.

Zack and Blake were competing for the same position being offered by said ex that she also hated. But things between her and Zack started to shift and lots of lies were clarified. Their relationship was hot and beautiful. Zack was just dreamy and helped her out with so many things. This story was short but it had so many moments that you don’t realize how short it is. Beautiful!!

This one was a fun read. Zach and Blake are such lovable characters. Zach and Blake start out having this hate relationship but deep down they like each other. Zach and Blake are vying for the same job and are forced to work together. They have for a complex relationship and it makes it such a good read.

This was a very fun and highly entertaining story. I really enjoy a good enemies to lovers story and this one didn't disappoint. It was steamy and sweet.....and really easy to read. It flowed perfectly from beginning to end.

A quick enemy to lovers with some emotional ties that last a life time. Zack has always had a thing for Blake since the day he met her in college, his best friend asked her out first. Ten years later they are vying for the same marketing campaign. Forced to work together parts of the past come to light and a romance years in the making brews.

I liked the book was not in love with it. I felt that Blake was too head strong for her own good and a lot of her home life issues could have been solved by asking for help from her friends.

  • Debbie Dumke

We’ve all heard the saying that there’s a thin line between love and hate. Zach & Blake walk this line like it’s a tightrope and they’re circus performers, each needing to outshine and win the crowd over with their abilities.

Their competition stared their freshman year in college when they were assigned as partners in their introduction to marketing class.

Zach has always loved to push Blake’s buttons to piss her off. It’s almost like they’re 5-year olds on the playground & he is pulling her pigtails.

Blake has never forgotten nor forgiven Zach for what happened in college the night she broke up with his best friend David.

Six years after graduation they are both bidding on a very lucrative 10-year marketing campaign for Fleming Coffee that is looking to go international. The rub is that this company is owned by David’s grandfather. With David being groomed to take over the company he has been giving the task of awarding this contract. The sadistic a-hole that David is, he thinks of ways to make Blake & Zach work together for two months, knowing their mutual hatred of each other, all the while having his own agenda playing out in the background.

Surprisingly Blake & Zach work remarkably well together, they highlight each other’s abilities, the problem is that their chemistry threatens to make them both forget their hatred of each other. This is a love story after all, so that chemistry combusts and they find they’ve not only fallen in love with each other, but they want to leave the past where it belongs – in the past. That is until David’s manipulating, sadistic self, drops a bombshell that brings back all of Blake’s memories of how her life was almost ruined in college. She can’t believe that she let her guard down with Zach, how did she not see he was working with his best friend the whole time to seduce her, use her for her ideas and make her feel cheap.

The question is … Is Blake being blinded by her rage and not seeing the whole picture or did David blindside both Blake & Zach at the same time. If it’s the later will their egos, hurt, humiliation and anger keep them from being truly happy with each other?

  • Caroline F

This was an enjoyable, sexy read.

"We all know that there is a fine line between hate and love, but lust? That's a whole other ballgame."

Blake was devastated by a her college boyfriend and his best friend. Six years later, she finds herself face to face with them once more - or, more specifically, against the best friend, Zack. The enmity between them is still there but, beneath the surface, is the ever-present sizzle between them - one that they spent four years ignoring.

"I can see myself falling for her; the hate I felt for so many years evaporating before my eyes giving way to a violent attraction."

Zack is just as affected by Blake in the present as he was in the past. Although he knows that they should probably stay away from one another, he is inexorably drawn to her, and fights hard to break down her walls and win her trust.

"You can taste me later. I've waited ten years to have you like this, Blake. Let me have you."

This was a great read. The book was dual POV but a lot of the chapters were split into both POVs with no headings so it took a second to realise who was 'talking' sometimes. I thought the 'hate' aspect was overplayed a bit, as it's such a strong word and, apart from what happened to Blake towards the end of her final year in college, there was no real concrete basis for such an extreme feeling on Blake or Zack's side. Blake is a tough cookie with some insecurity issues, but I loved that Zack didn't really put up with her bluster and was direct about what he wanted from her. I loved his honesty and his sweetness about his feelings for her. They had a lot in common and I liked that Blake didn't let her stubbornness and the past get in the way of them becoming more because they had chemistry in spades.

  • Shelly Reynolds

"Did I tell you how sexy I think you look in that tux?"
"Hmm...wait until you see it on the floor later."

Did you have that guy in high school or college, that all the girls drooled over? The one that you knew was bad news, and the worst possible decision you could ever make? The one that you both despised and longed for all at the same time? Yeah, me neither. But Blake sure did.

Blake Holliday made a colossal mistake. She texted a naughty picture to her boyfriend David. Only he isn't the only one that saw it, thanks to his best friend Zack. Nope. The whole frat saw it and she could have died from embarrassment . She'll never forgive either of them! Fast forward six years, and now she's the CEO of her own marketing company and bidding for one of her biggest clients yet. Only one problem. Well, two actually. The potential client is her ex's family's business, and she's in competition for their business with none other than.... Zack. Can she put the past behind her and work with him to get this job, or is he still the same jerk, still playing frat games with her life? Oh yeah, the other problem? He's sexier than ever and he makes her tingle. None of this can end well. Right?

Zack Nicholson almost had her. Almost. But David got her instead. So, he had no choice but to love her from the friend zone. But, they were never really friends, not really. He loved her, and she barely tolerated him. Until that night. The night she told him she never wanted to see him again. Now, years later, he's sitting across from her in a board room, bidding against her for the same client. Is this his chance at redemption? A chance to find out why she hated him? He made the mistake of letting David have her back then. He's not going to ruin his chance now. All he has to do is get Blake to see the real him, not the frat boy she once knew.

This was such a great read! The banter between these two is hilarious, and heartbreaking all at the same time. I wanted to hate Zack, but also wanted to hug him - he was trying so hard!! And poor Blake - from the embarrassment in college, to now having to work beside the man that nearly ruined her. That being said, the chemistry between these to is EPIC!!

As with any truth, there's always more to the story than you think you know, so definitely read this one! You'll love it!

This was a fun story set in the ‘enemies to friends’ trope. Two competitors battling it out to win a long term contract. One, Zack Nicholson, is best friends to the CEO of Fleming Coffee chain’s grandson, David. Blake Holliday used to be David’s girlfriend but things ended badly. Blake has reason to believe Zack had something to do with it, and she would love nothing better than to see him go down.
Poor Zack, he’s hot, sexy and has his eye on the prize, until it falls on Blake and then it’s game over. This caring, sweet, sensitive guy has been given the hard end of the stick. He might not be innocent of causing bad blood between himself and Blake during their college years, but he’s not a kid anymore.
Meeting up with Blake, and then having to work on a joint campaign with her wasn’t what he had in mind,, but the longer they spent in each others company, the more he remembers how he’d first felt when the originally met in college. Before David… before it all went to he!!
Now, he wants everything. The contract, the promotion with his own company but most of all. He wants the girl. He may have lost out ten years ago, but it’s time he called the shots. But, will Blake give him the chance.
Blake is a beautiful, smart, intelligent and driven woman on a mission. She has a disabled father and bills to pay but most of all. She hates Zack, she knows that with everything she has… but… she feels things too. And the longer the work together, the more they fight, argue then end up kissing, the more she wants. She needs the contract but is she willing to put it all on the line. Can she have the job and the man?

Scr*w You by Renee Harless is a standalone. It’s funny and fast-paced. It’s a story about holding on to grudges and finding a way to let go of the past.

Blake is witty, strong and independent. She never quits and has a strong competitive streak.

Zack is confident and charming. He knows what he wants and goes after it.

Blake and Zack meet in college but it’s not love at first sight, more like hate at first glance. Blake dates his best friend and he does whatever he can to get under her skin. At the end of senior year, her life is rocked by a scandal. It’s clear to her that Zack’s prints are all over it. Years later her hate for him hasn’t wavered but now her new marketing company hangs in the balance. It’ll be a challenge to work alongside Zack but, to land this account, she’ll do whatever it takes. Ignoring the pull Zack has on her body might be the hardest task yet.

Being able to see the story from both Blake and Zack’s perspectives added a lot of insight into the story. The characters chemistry feels real, the story flows well and the pacing is great. Each glance ignited sparks beneath their skin. A brush of the lips has them begging for more. A dangerous game to play while trying to keep things professional and a past they have yet to smooth over. Can they survive when one of them wins the account? A fun and entertaining story worth a read.

    Scr*w You by Renee Harless
“Can they make it work? 5 stars”

Blake knew Zack back in college. They didn’t get along then, and she has no hope for them getting along now. Especially when he is standing between the job that will either sink her or make her. What she didn’t expect was for how easy being around Zack would be. Has he really changed since college or did she just not know him?
Zack has been in love with Blake for years, but his best friend got to her first. He hated what went on between the two back then. Now that he has her back in his life again Zack is willing to do anything to keep her. He knows they need to hash out the past but sometimes its nice to let a sleeping alone. Will Zack get the girl or will his “best friend” ruin his chance at happiness once again?
Harless is a new to me author and I won’t lie, I dug Scr*w You. Zack worked his tail off to get Blake and I loved it. He was upfront for the most part about what he wanted from her. Plus, he treated her how she should have always been treated. Blake was strong and independent but knew when to yield. If your looking for a new author to try, then start here. I hope you enjoy the story as much as I did.

Yes yes YES!! I have not read this anything by this author yet but I’m incredibly intrigued by her writing style and just the craziness that possessed this book!! So many things I freaking loved about this read and firstly the title!! Just screams at you to “FREAKING READ ME!!”

I haven’t necessarily been in Blake’s shoes exactly but girl I know how crazy it can make you feel to be taken advantage of when you were vulnerable and tried to please others. I was so angry for her but my anger was thrown around quite a bit to several characters throughout this book! But the power and strength Blake showed when she knew she needed to be seen as such spoke volumes to the woman she created herself.

I had high hopes for Zack even during the beginning stages of this book and even when I was at my most vulnerable for Blake but David kept getting in the way!! I wanted to cry angry tears anytime that man came into the picture!! You can see the incredibly sexy and gentle of a man Zack is but it’s overshadowed by David... ugh!

What a release this will be when it goes live!! I am so honored I got to read an advanced copy because I couldn’t put it down!! Super sexy, funny, and will touch you in all the right spots!!!

I recieved this ARC per leaving a review. I really err njoyed tjis book. You start the book meeting Blake while in college. While between classes she meets Zack who is going to be her partner in a class. While meeting a friend of Zack's notices and joins them. David. What to say about David? At first he's attentive, nice. Your dream guy. Blake falls for David. All the while Zack is giving Blake a hard time. Being intentionally late on projects, kinda mean. The whole time masking his true feelings. Fast forward 6 years. Blake has started her own business and has come jome to take care of her fstjer who has been injured at work. She has started her own add agency I think you would call it? She hoes out for a bid at a company owned by David's grandfather unknowing that 1- David will be her boss and 2- Zack is hoing gor the same job. Leg's just say Chaos ensues for Blake. I love Rene's writing style. I fell in live with the banter between Blake and Zack. The steam level was a 4 alarm fire!! My only draw back was that I wanted to know what happened to Dabid. You draw your own conclusions but I sure would have loved to read it!! 41/2 stars !!

    FIVE STARS
This story will pull on your heart strings. With her college boyfriend for 4 years, Blake discovers that David is not the person she thought he was. Even more, Zack, his best friend is just as bad as David, or so Blake is made to believe.
After college Blake got the job of her dreams, she is now returning home to help her father after a work accident has left him with little mobility and needing 24/7 care. Starting her own business is her plan and she is going after a huge contract but there is of course a catch.
David, her ex is in line to take over the family business and his college best friend is also pitching to try to get the marketing account.
Does Blake have what it takes to win this account? It would solve all of her financial issues if she could win this. But will Zack throw a curve ball into all of her plans? Are Zack and David teaming up to make her life miserable again? Can she ever trust them? Will Zack be able to convince Blake that he is not the man she ever thought he was.
Great book, quick read. I read this in one evening. Couldn't put it down.

This was my first book by Renee Harless and I loved it. Blake, Zack and David all went to college together. Blake and David were dating and well Blake wanted to be daring and send David a nude selfie. The selfie was sent to all the guys on campus and David told Blake that Zack did it. But he didn't. Blake had a hatred for Zack that he never knew why. Blake was pissed and moved on without David. He was cheating on her to. Six years later and Blake is trying to make a name for herself and take care of her father. Then a huge opportunity came up to do work for a huge coffee company. Blake found out to late that the company belong to David's dad and Zack also worked there. Zack is there to try for the same contract that Blake is. David has some stuff that both of them need to work together on. The attraction is there between them and they finally give into it. Zack still can't figure out why Blake still hates him so much. Blake finally tells Zack, and yes it was David all along. David's father is told what he did and David gets demoted. Well let's just say Blake and Zack get to work together. Friends to lovers to business partners. This was a really good book.
