  Wow this was just freaking awesome! Yep I loved it. I loved their names. Cynyr and Aingeal (sinner and angel). This had me from page one and I couldn't put it down. This book is futuristic but not overflowing with details. Cyn is a reaper or an executioner. Cyn is one of seven reapers and they aren't human. I loved the way the author described what they are how they become what they are. There was a moment when you see it and it was just grouse. Aingeal was a perfect mate for Cyn. She never shied away from Cyn when she realized what he was or saw him at his worst. Aingeal brought out the best in Cyn. She gave him emotions he never felt before. Man the words that flowed from his mouth made me melt and I was highlighting like crazy. Honestly I was surprised that Aingeal was so kind and trustful with all that she endured in her life.
  
  This is one of those books where the H/h fall in love within 24 hours. Honestly I didn't care. These two had an instant connection and it just was. That's all you can say. This was fast paced and super easy to read. I cant wait to read book two.

  I was stuck between the four and five star rating. It was a page-turner for me with enough action to keep me interested. I really enjoyed the characters and this has to be the most original story I have ever read. Which is what brought me to the five star rating.
  
  The one thing about this story that made the reading difficult for me were the names, most of which I could not understand let alone pronounce. I found myself replacing the names in my head so that I could read through but too often I got caught up trying to figure out some sort of pronunciation for them so I lost track of the story. And because of the incomprehensible names of all the Reapers, I couldn’t find myself relating to them as individuals because I couldn’t keep their names straight in my head.
  
  The only other issue I had with this story was with the ending. It was a long story with a lot of very different issues they dealt with, so I though that it really should have had a conclusion, allowing book two to start off with a different character and their own trials. Or at the very least, allow for one of the other Reaper’s stories to take over book two but while working off the conclusion of book one. For instance, another Reaper could find his mate while in Haines City helping Cynyr and Aingeal with their battle. Although, I have only read the synopsis for book two, so maybe that did turn out to be the situation. But that didn’t sound like the case in the description.
  
  Even with the above criticism I still managed to love the story. Go figure! It was the first I’ve been really excited about in a long time and had a difficult time putting it down. I would definitely recommend it. Just try to work out the names before you start. It will make the reading go smoother.

  I'm not sure I can say I read this book. Mostly I skimmed it. I found it pretty boring and bland, even if the sketches of world-building promised something interesting.
  
  But if all it takes to mate for life is a fuck, it really doesn't make much of sense to build something out of it. It doesn't make me feel special, now, does it?
  
  I admit the author did seriously try to write a story and not the usual porn the EC published. Unfortunately the erotica label forced her hand so the two met, have sex and mate for life. End of romance for me, but the plot did try something more. And for this "more" I kept reading (or skim-reading).

  3.7 stars. The book feels old time-ish but with alien/ futuristic twists... think Firefly. I never found the grove of the book but found it strangely good anyhow. Interesting world, story and characters. Loved the mix of old and new especially the Irish influence. The book just skims the surface without feeling superficial. The story is told to you rather then shown at times making it feel as if you're reading a list of events (like reading an itinerary). The book ends unresolved but happy. I found this disappointing and strange especially since a lot happens in the book. There are many places in the book that would've made good ending points other then how it ended. To have ended the story where and how it did felt unfulfilled.
  
  I would be remiss if I did not mention Aingeal the female lead. She was refreshing... not only was she strong but accepted people and circumstances for what they were. I might not've cared or the authors writing style but can't fault her for her characters. Well done Ms. Boyett-Compo.
  
  If you like step by step stories, strong manly men, futuristic cowboys, and adventure this book is for you.

  Now this was a pleasant surprise. I picked this one up as a freebie on Amazon for what I expected would be a little light reading (who doesn't like a naughty cowboy?). I would normally rate this a 4, but I enjoyed the story enough to bump it up (a rarity for me, I' usually a hard ass when it comes to doling out stars). I was very impressed with the rich, detailed descriptions and story-building. From Ellora's Cave, I had expected more erotica and less story, but the story was very good. I'm not a fan of futuristic novels, but the whole wild west- meets apocalypse meets paranormal really works in this novel. An entertaining read. I'll be looking for a sequel!

  I enjoyed the book start to finish, even though the ending left a little itty bit to be desired. There was a conclusion of sorts but not a definite one since there were still some loose ends that needed to be tied up. I liked the world building and the characters and I would be very interested in taking a trip back to this world. The love scenes were well-written and I felt that they added to the natural progression to the story; they weren't there just to be there. I did find the High Council to be a bit intrusive at times and I would love to read a book where Lord Kheelan is brought to his knees.

  Wow, this book was really good. I absolutely loved the characters, especially Cynyr Cree. He was so caring, but still dangerous. It was different from the normal westerns, with a great story line. There was lots of action and it was a really easy read. I will definitely be reading the rest of this series. I love the fact that I have found a new author!!

  This is the first book of Charlotte Boyeet-Compo's I read and instantly fell in love with Cynyr Cree. This series has been unique in that is is in the future 3478 but yet it is almost as if it is in the 1800's. Cowboys of a very different nature. He saves the life of a young women sold by her father. Aingeal saves Cynyr just as he saves her.

  I was pleasantly surprised with this story, I was not expecting much, but I really liked the relationship between Cynyr and Aingeal. There were some love scenes that felt awkward, like they were thrown in because it was required and not a fluid part of the story. The ending is rather abrupt. I know this is part of a series, but I was expecting more a of a resolution.

  great world building - futuristic western, with some space age stuff thrown in. good sex, good storyline. a bit lame in that the big bad reaper turns to mush regarding the heroine in like, a minute. (how big bad could he be?)

  This is good. a love story showing strength in many different forms. The story reminded me of the seals with jobs to do and protecting the ones they love and hold near to them. This just used a twist such as other being in the body which caused a change.

  I got this as a freebie and surprisedly loved it. The characters were strong and believeable. I loved the story, the sex was hot, and I look forward to reading more by this author. This is book one in a series of nine, and I look forward to more Reapers.

  Love this book great love story. Set in the future after a Great War and flood the people of Terra have had to go back to the ways od the old west and Reapers are the final justice for the rogues. Great western with a twist of erotica.

  I do like to re-read this book. :) Even if it does have a "to be continued..." it doesn't end on a cliffhanger. I just have to get the rest of the series! LOL.
