It took 49 years, but I finally have the quiet life I’ve always dreamed of.
Except for the departed souls who’ve decided I’m their new BFF.

After three strikes, I’m out of the marriage game for good,
Fully ready to embrace my inner crazy cat lady.
I’d kept my psychic medium abilities in the shadows,
Until my friend pushed me into the spotlight at Afterlife After Dark.
An introvert like me had no business giving readings on stage,
Trying to prove myself to skeptical strangers—
Like the hunk across the room arching his silvery brow at me.
The stormy-eyed firefighter asked for my help,
Looking for clues about his fallen comrade’s death.
But the moment I envisioned bear paws instead of his buddy’s hands,
Weirdly enough, I made a believer out of him.
I thought that was the last I'd see of Hugh, until he showed up at my door,
Wanting to know if I could tell him more—
And then showing me a wild night neither of us would ever forget.
Could this actually be the start of something new,
Or is he just using me as a psychic hotline?
All I know is the more I uncover about this mysterious death,
The more my life’s in serious danger.
And once the truth comes out, all hell’s gonna break loose.

Steamy shifter love scenes and an HEA inside! No cheating or cliffhanger in this standalone romance. Readers 18+.

I really liked the medium aspect of this one, liked how Kelly was introduced at the bar. It would have been fun to see something like that, but understood why Kelly might not want to do that all the time. I thought it interesting how Hugh approached Kelly about wanting more info and how that sort of spun out of control. Both of them learned more than they anticipated, both of them had some things to figure out. But by the end they had things well under control and were happy building something together.

While visiting her friend, introverted, psychic Kelly Chambers let her friend talk her into participating in a local bar event. Kelly wasn’t ashamed of her gift but had been mocked by her family and a few frienemies. Introducing herself and her gift to the audience, an insistent spirit hovering over a man who seemed resistant to psychics demanded attention but Kelly ignored it and considered talking to the man later.

Impressed by Kelly’s accuracy throughout the evening, single father, firefighter Hugh Grafton approached her afterwards, asking if she could tell if his friend Daniel’s fiery death was accidental or deliberate. Hugh was dumbfounded when Kelly knew things like Daniel saw his hands as paws and was caught in a barn fire without Hugh saying a word.

While Daniel figures out the death thing, he has plenty to say and shares with Kelly. Hugh’s angry when Kelly tells him Daniel’s been talking to her and what he said happened. The revelations anger Hugh and lead to more trouble with the Johnson clan putting Kelly firmly in the middle as she’s rudely introduced to shifters.

I have read the other books in this series; they are all standalone stories.
Kelly can speak with the deceased and relay messages. She is visiting her friend in town and does readings at Chase's restaurant. Hugh is a local shifter and fireman; his best friend died in a fire. He feels the Daniels is trying to get him to find out about the fire. Hugh asks to speak to Kelly about Daniel. Daniel tells his story in pieces; it's up to Kelly and Hugh to figure out what happened. Kelly is not aware there are shifters, and that Hugh is a bear shifter. The book was well written and held my interest. I would recommend this book if you love a good shifter book.

We've come to part 5 of Ms Ripley's fantastic Fated Over Forty Series.
This series stands out from the rest because this time it's not the older man and younger woman, but this time an adult. This is the story of Hugh and Kelly.
The attraction and chemistry between them is clearly palpable. I loved to read that Kelly is the right person to help Hugh and his children heal and that through her she can find their piece of peace and acceptance because she can talk to spirits. It is an emotional story and also a piece about a second chance at a new relationship and a chance at happiness. This series is highly recommended Ms Ripley has written a great series!

Hugh needs her help to solve a crime that killed his friend, but her psychic abilities are showing her the victim as a bear. That confuses Kelly, but she doesn't know about shifters. Besides, she's only in town for a few days and doesn't know how else to help him. Hugh has other issues, namely his ex belonging to a rival clan and his kids not listening. But things come to a head when Kelly tells Hugh that his children were involved in the fire that killed his friend. How will he protect his children when one hates him and the other is scared she will go to jail? And what will happen when Kelly's attacked and Hugh's ex is the one to save her?
Each of these books follows one couple's journey to love. The characters carry over into other books, with very few typos or trigger issues.

Emotional read about a firefighters need to solve the death of his friend and co-worker. Hugh is a bit of a sceptic about psychics but when he meets Kelly he feels an immediate connection to her.
Kelly is seriously set in her ways and adamant that she doesn't need or want a man in her life, after three failed marriages, however when she decides to help Hugh investigate his friends death an unexpected twist occurs which involves his friend who has some unfiinished business and becomes quite the companion to Kelly and enlightens her in many ways.
Great read. Romantic and heartwarming .

    I love midlife romances

Meg Ridley really has a decent series going on here. I really like all the professional human women who come to this town after life has beat them down in the love and romance department, then they find a bear who benefits for, their skill set or talent and they fall hard with anxiety of how to tell the human woman that they are shifters. In this series it is always protecting them that the truth comes out and in this case Hugh a firefighter and Kelly a medium who doesn’t make money off her gift find out how his best friend and firefighter was killed. I hope there are more in this series.

it was an ok read. I didn't connect with Kelly or Hugh.

Kelly is a medium, Hugh needs to see if she can reach his friend and get some answers to what actually happened during the fire that killed him. Kelly reaches him and the secrets she tells Hugh throws him for a loop. It can't be real, yet when he talks to the suspects they come clean and he has to swallow his pride.

The beginning was strong, but once Hugh didn't call her and kind of forgot about her I was out. For me, his bear knew it wanted her, it was restless, but Hugh didn't seem to care. I never felt a connecting between them at all. I felt like he was using her for information. Kelly was better off with her cats.

Guided By Her Untouchable Friend -
This was a truly great read, with suspense, angsts, action, otherworldly encounters and a heartfelt romance between two singers parent bright together by fate. I was hooked on the story from the first page and I couldn’t stop reading until I reached the end. This book deserves to be recommended to anyone looking for a gem to read. In addition, after I read the except to the next story, it has left me wanting to read August’s story now.

Kelly is a medium and as a favor she does a performance at a local bar for a friend. Hugh isn't a believer, but he is willing to try anything to figure out what happened to his friend. Together Kelly and Hugh discover more than they planned on. Will they find a happy ending of their own?

This is a great story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Hugh and Kelly's story is the fifth book in the series. Hugh is upset and torn about his friend death during the barn fire, he wants more answers than it was an accident.

Kelly is a medium who has had a rough go with love, tired of men she wants to focus on herself. When she meets Hugh, Kelly tells him things before he asks about his friend's death.

Hugh and Kelly have great chemistry and the passion is off the charts.

Instant chemistry that exploded and sizzled when they were together. Hugh is a firefighter in Carlton and a single dad raising his two teenage kids. Their mother left them without looking back. Kelly is a psychic medium who has three grown children and lives with her two cats. This quick read had an interesting storyline and was different than any shifter romance I've read before.
